  1. Rightly so. Assault attracts custodian sentence.
He should start to think of a fictitious disease as a GET OUT OF JAIL CARD

  2. JMC by Law the DPP is within the confines of the Law if he feels the sentence meted out is not commensurate with the gravity of offence. As simple as that!

    • Ba Tondolo, read the headline then read my post carefully. Then comment. Clearly you have missed my point. The DPP always seeks a conviction when he takes a case to court. So does it make sense for him to challenge a conviction? Yes, he can challenge the sentence but it does, not make sense for him to query a conviction as the article seems to suggest.

  3. Tayali needs a custodial sentence at Mwembeshi. He is a spoiled brat like his brother who was caged recently. To make him respect the law, they should cage him. That will allow him to appreciate the freedom he abuses day and night, night and day.

  4. That K20,000 fine is not commensurate with the dignity and respect vested in a female police officer in Zambia and a woman in general. We need to fight gender-based violence with vigour. Let this be a lesson to abusive men out there. We who respect our wives were taken aback by that sentence and now justice will be done. It’s good that the DPP will be present on the appeal hearing.
