WHAT DID THE EMBASSIES SAY FOR FLYING THE FLAGS?, KABIMBA ASKS GOVT.
Economic Front President Wynter Kabimba has challenged government to inform the nation on the response it received from the Embassies of Finland, Germany and Sweden for flying rainbow flags on their premises.
Mr. Kabimba is concerned that government has decided to remain quiet on the matter which goes against the established principles of the country.
He is shocked that government decided to write to the three embassies when they should have simply summoned them to explain why they flew the flags.
And Mr. Kabimba said the explanation given by Vice President Mutale Nalumango on the floor of the house that embassies are treated as sovereign states is a clear lack of understanding of the Vienna Convention on diplomatic relations which provides that diplomats must respect the laws of the host state.
