PF created a safe environment for all, there were no abductions – Kampyongo
FORMER Home Affairs minister Stephen Kampyongo says the Patriotic Front (PF) had created a safe environment for all citizens as there were no abductions during its time.
Speaking at a media briefing on Friday in Lusaka, Kampyongo stated that the previous regime invested in surveillance equipment to track criminals across the country.
He wondered why the recent occurrences such as the alleged abduction of Petauke Member of Parliament Emmanuel Banda have not been concluded when the country is privileged to have surveillance equipment.
“The recent occurrences such as the abduction of a Member of Parliament whose matter hasn’t been concluded is shocking and the people of Zambia are still waiting to understand the circumstances surrounding that aspect of abduction,” he said.
“We as PF Government did what we could in terms of trying to get a secured environment for our citizens especially in the cities such as Lusaka and some cities on the Copperbelt. Our colleague, our minister launched a project called Safe City. We invested in Safe City as the name suggests to ensure that our citizens are safe throughout the day and night. It is meant to suggest that our communities are safe day and night. We invested in some surveillance equipment to monitor the movement of vehicles.”
He said what was remaining to these equipment was a legal framework to make it more viable in order to ensure that all public places are equally monitored.
Kampyongo further condemned the murder of Independent Broadcasting Authority Director General Guntila Muleya stating that there is need for immediate action to address the abduction cases in the country.
He added that the police should form a squad to specifically deal with abductors across the country.
“We need to see action. The police should do their job equally. To see the cases of abduction not being resolved when we have what we have some of these facilities is shocking to my mind.”
“How can the case of a Member of Parliament not be concluded? It simply shows that no one cares,” Kampyongo stated.

Oh,Gassing was a safe environment. Police killing citizens was a safe environment. Commandos undressing women in public was a safe environment,carders harassing the citizens everywhere was a safe environment. You should ashamed of your to utter such rubbish.
We have a problem with people who report news to the public. Anyway, Stephen Kampyongo’s joke should be taken for what it is. Some terrible things the Police did when he was Minister of Home Affairs were probably done in his name.
People should have shame. There was PF engineered nationwide gassing, galloping cadreism, abduction of people refusing to be instruments of PF oppression and murder of citizens without murderers going to jail. ECL even haboured and protected a murderer. It took a change of government to get the case to court.

ECL scrapped off bursaries for university students yet his son said his father gifted him with so much wealth on his birthday. Is that the safe environment you r talking about?
Are you not supposed to be the last person to comment or blame your friends Sir? For some of us who were living in Zambia, we felt more insecure during your time than now. You can’t claim that we were safe when we were being gassed, our markets were being burnt, unless you have forgotten, people were being abducted and Sr Chief Mukuni’s wife was one of them, the Hatembos, people were being killed in cold blood, you never even apologized to the nation. You are talking of JJ Banda who was abducted recently and yet you failed to tell us who the gassers were. So what are you talking about now? You are better off to remain quiet than talking, we saw worse things during your time than what we are seeing now. We know the motive for those doing these things but they will fail.
Look at who is talking. Better keep quiet than embarrassing yourself.
Quite astonishing and painful to see Kapyongo praising his PF for safe environment communities in Lusaka and the Copperbelt. This is quite disturbing and shocking. To hear the sponsor of murders speaking like this on public. Very surprisingly indeed.
SURELY! Out of all the people in Zambia Kapyongo with no remorse and shame can even hold a press conference praising PF for safe environment in cities like Lusaka and Copperbelt – singled out? Is it because of the drought, high cost of meal mill and cost of living in general that Kapyongo is testing and fooling the intelligence of Zambians’ because he knows that while the majority Zambians for him, thinks, no nothing apart from the issue of Nshima, nolutoshi lwabwali kwapwaaa? But forgetting the main Zambians that were killed during bye-elections and gassing period not forgetting the KAMUGODI in Lusaka

If indeed there was safe environment in Lusaka how is it up to now that the people who killed NSAMA NSAMA and Joseph Kaunda just in the heart of the high security zone up to now are yet to be brought to book since Kapyongo was Minister of Home Affairs and Edgar Changwa Lungu was His Republican President and commander in chief by then. How was these people killed and why didn’t the safe heaven environment didn’t play it’s role or part. And secondly why was the killer’s not detected up to now no one has been brough to book. But to day without shame sorcerers like Kapyongo will kandindly talk of JJ Banda but bluntly about IBA Director Muleya who was killed just some days ago by his Kapyongo junkie employed police officers.
2. When the issue of gassing was spreading like fire during PF government,starting from cities ( chingola ) in Copperbelt through to Lusaka where the so called safe environment was created. Why was the perpetrators not cornered or arrested?
3. Why was the KAMUGODI in Lusaka spared, was it for cleansing and blood sucking purposes for PF power hungry that he can arrogantly as usual make (Kapyongo ) without shame and remoseful even sh****t through the mouth in public the filthy outbursts? For whose consumption and what matter or purpose.
Certain things, better you remain quiet than spitting evil and rubbish in public, it is either you will be made to clean your own rubbish or you will end up sleeping on the same and you will be smelling wherever you go and eventually one day, just One day you will fail to stand up because what you are carrying will be too heavy and will kill you. Continue heaping them on your head you will very soon if not in the long run regret your foolishness.
Kampyongo needs a long jail term to teach him manners.

Gassing was a UPND scheme!
A kaponya from the streets of Katondo made a minister. This can only happen in a mafia government led by a compromised leader. In the history of Zambia for now the PF was the most government brutal which promoted and embraced political violence, hooliganism, thuggery and animosity. Kampyongo was the waste and cruel Minister of Home Affairs we have had who brought Katondo street behaviour into the Zambia Police Service. It is better for Kampyongo to keep quiet than embarrassing himself through making political hallucinations.
