GOVERNMENT TO INSTALL SOLAR PANELS IN ALL PUBLIC SCHOOLS

The Ministry of Education has announced plans to install solar panels in all public schools countrywide.

Ministry of Education Permanent Secretary Technical Services,Joel Kamoko says the initiative aims to ensure a reliable power supply and mitigating the effects of load shedding.

Mr. Kamoko encouraged the public to embrace solar energy as a viable alternative

Meanwhile, ZESCO Spokesperson Matongo Maumbi  urged all sectors, including those previously exempted, to invest in back-up power sources to alleviate the power crisis.

  1. I hope the ministry has done a thorough risk assessment and management strategy.

    For instance, the possibility of thefts, damage to the infrastructure.

    • Ati risk assessments, so iwe ka street assessor, you think the whole education department can carry out such a huge exercise without data? Perhaps u are a PF cadre who used to ve a former Kotondo husler installed as minister of defence or Education. Not now bro, wake up & get another skill cos being as assessor is fefinitly not your job. Pls find something to do thanks.¹

  2. That sounds progressive but the solar pamels will be stolen. That is just the embarrassing and cruel reality in Zambia. It’s a troubled and weak state.
