NEVERS MUMBA VISITS SIMON MWEWA AT MWEMBESHI PRISON

Mumba wrote;

“Spent some time visiting my nephew Chitambala Mwewa at Mwembeshi prison this afternoon.”

“I encouraged him from my own experiences when I was incarcerated. We talked, we laughed and we prayed…”

“He is fine and in high spirits.”

    • Ba Gunner, that is the court’s discision. We want to bring in emotions and opinions where it doesnt matter. The fact is Chitimbala was found guilty. The courts gave him adequate time to form a defence and lets not beat about the bush. He can afford legal advice and probably got advice. He had no defence for his actions.
      Law efforcement is weak and sometime people resort to taking the law into their own hands. This is the unfortuntate case of Chitimbala. Frustrated….sad for him but it is what it is…
      Someone wrote suggesting that a number of people be appointed by the President from the Eastern Province, again the law is very clear. Cabinet is appointed at the drescretion of the President. It guides him but the descretion and decision is his. While we can express our displeasure at certain decisions, that all it is. Our opinion, and right to express our displeasure as the law states we can but we have to be cautious not to go over board.
      Thank Ba Mumba, its times like these when it counts. Am sure Chitimbala treasurers the time spent with him…

  1. The magistrate who did this unholy act will never know peace!
    Such offense does not merit custodial punishment!
    It defies wisdom and common sense!
    Let’s get him out and appeal this bad precedent!

    • I agree 100%. How come he is still in prison and his appeal has not yet taken off? The longer he stays in jail the higher the risk of Simon Mwewa lane being turned into an unsightly trading place with dirt all over. It will be irredeemable. Now the minibus owner who thinks he can park anywhere as they do on our roads wants compensation! What cheek. I bet he has already converted a portion of the road into his trading place.

  2. Was found guilty and convicted , I received 3 months sentence,but suspended for one year, that was fair.not the chitambala issue I see it a bit not necessary, deconjest prisons give it some room, it’s for this reason that the president has pardoned a large group from prisons.
