POLITICAL ISCARIOTISM

POLITICAL ISCARIOTISM

Judas Iscariot was a shrewd member of Jesus’ inner circle.

He betrayed Jesus, his master for 30 pieces of silver, and he is roundly condemned for his perfidious actions.

However, in practice, Judas is the most celebrated disciple for his bravery to do something other disciples would not do.

In a deft manner, he single-handedly came up with a scheme to betray Jesus, and alone executed his scheme.

Absolutely no person in Jesus’ inner circle suspected Judas’ scheme. Even Jesus was only aware of Judas’ plan because he was God who knows all things – the past, present, and future, or else, no one including Jesus would have known Judas’ master plan.

Like other disciples, Judas spent time with Jesus and listened to him all the times as he preached about the kingdom of God, and watched him perform miracles.

Even with first-hand experience of Jesus’ works that brought hope to the hopeless, Judas was not moved by anything.

His ability to stay with Jesus for years and remain unmoved is startling. More than that, it can only take a special spirit for him to give Jesus a kiss; sign of love, when he was carrying hate, betrayal and death in his kiss.

Indeed, Judas had a spirit of Iscariotism; the spirit that makes people think they are wise and brave when in actual sense they are foolish and unethical.

Judas’ selfishness was epic, he was all set to cut short Jesus’ mission for self-gain. In Judas lived a ghost of Iscariotism.

Elections time reveal to us how Judas is celebrated among politicians. He is a patron saint of politicians who are proud of keeping up his legacy by betraying their political associates.

I am thinking of the likes of Charles Kakoma and Geoffrey Mwamba who were in a political relationship with Hakainde Hichilema for some time.

Both, their words and actions promised Hichilema an unwavering political bond. They talked, hugged and worked with Hichilema as if it was from their hearts.

Then, unexpectedly they broke up with Hichilema, and without delay, their political support pledges to the Patriotic Front (PF) were openly announced.

It is stunning how these characters did it with easy and without shame. More surprising is how they worked with Hichilema and kept straight faces when they were scheming a political break up to join PF a party they denounced as corrupt.

Judas must be proud of the many Kakomas and Mwambas in our political landscape able to walk around well packaged making people think they are principled politicians.

Nobody would ever believe that the priest-like Kakoma and the holier-than-thou Mwamba would leave UPND to join PF.

Of course Kakoma and Mwamba have democratic rights to join any political organisation, but that does not change the fact that they represent many politicians who are masters of the skill of pretense, false holiness, false ethics, false integrity and false loyalty because their hearts are controlled by the spirit of Iscariotism; self-gain.

Looking at how politicians betray their associates for personal gain, surely Judas must be proud of these politicians for taking his legacy to another level.

Who else can be a successful mentor to politicians that in spite of the time Kakoma and Mwamba spent with Hichilema, they remained unmoved by the national cause for development for all people Hichilema expounded?

Hichilema should set the bar higher to scrutinize people around him because he may be surrounded by a lot of Iscariots not interested in the common good but self-gain.

Iscariots should be kept far away from party leadership but instead work with people with strong convictions; who mean what they say and do what comes from convictions they espouse.

If it means remaining with a few people, let it be so as long as the party is led by people with integrity.

The party needs leaders able to stand upon strong convictions without wavering from them regardless of prospects for self-gain, and the party is not short of such.

Leaders who cannot look beyond themselves can leave the party if they wish. In fact, this will allow principled leaders whose actions are guided by values and consistently live their values in a transparent manner to come in.

It does not pay to go for either loud or quiet voices when most of these are voices of self-centeredness, power, wealth, and greed.

Until we have reliable leaders, the party will continue to be led by Iscariots with no intention to serve and no idea of the bigger picture, and it is difficult to win elections with such characters.

Man cries out after finding out that his wife is cheating on him with 5 different men

0

A man has cried out on social media after finding out that his wife is cheating on him with 5 different men.

Sharing his sad ordeal, he wrote;

“I paid her bride price, gave her 1million for business, yet she is still dating over 5 men.

I am a Nigerian working in Dubai and right now I’m in pain. I got married to her in December 2020, we met online and she was like the best thing that ever happened to me.

I remember my close friends telling me to be very sure about the lady first before I settle down with her, but I was in a hurry to get married, after all I was no longer a baby, I was 35 then.

So when I came back to Nigeria, i saw the lady physically and I honestly liked her so much. I hurriedly paid her bride price before i went back to my base to continue my job. My plan was to come to Nigeria again in easter of 2021 to do our wedding proper and after that, take her abroad with me but every thing changed.

I noticed that she suddenly became very rude and sometimes, doesn’t like taking my video calls in public, rather she hides herself first.

I sent her 1 million to get a shop in Lagos and start selling household items, so that she can be busy instead of staying at home. But this girl will still ask for money every week for one thing or the other, I will provide but I still don’t know what she uses it for.

I got home this week to spend the easter period here in Nigeria and noticed that everytime her neighbours see me, they will be whispering funnily. I pretended not to hear what they said because I hate gossip. But it made me suspicious and I engaged a police friend of mine to monitor her movement and someone else hacked her facebook for me.

This girl is not dating even one or two, actually it is over five men who she is busy sleeping with and sending n*des to. Funny thing is, I have never asked for her n*de even before I paid her bride price.

I am very sure that I am good in bed and apart from distance, there is no other hindrance in our relationship. I always encourage her to use toys. I provide for her at least 100k upkeep money every single month in addition to the business I opened for her. We don’t even have kids yet so what else.

I do not want to get my family or friends involved in this matter, I asked her but she denied it, I have not shown her the evidence yet. At this point considering there are no children involved, what do anyone especially my fellow men advice me to do at this point. I need advice from someone that is not my family before I break down.”

THE UNTOLD STORY : ECL sneaks out of the barracks

THE UNTOLD STORY : ECL sneaks out of the barracks

By Brian Hapunda

I remember this day very well. Do you?

The day Dr Christine Kaseba, Anthony Kasolo, Daniel Munkombwe & Acting President Dr Guy Lindley Scott pleaded with Edgar Chagwa Lungu whom they held hostage at a Meeting in Kohima Barracks Kabwe to have him withdraw his PF Presidential candidature & pave way for Dr Christine Kaseba the Day the PF Extra Ordinary Convention was to be officially opened by Dr Scott.

The Venue for this Meeting was carefully selected so as to instil fear in ECL. Instruction had been issued to the Barracks Commander & IG who was present in that meeting to say if ECL refuses to surrender he must be arrested & Cited for sponsoring anarchy at Mulungushi Rock of Authority where thousands of PF & ECL supporters were anxiously waiting for Dr Scott & his Team to come & Officially open the Convection.

ECL refused to back down to the demands of this merciless team & Dr Guy Scott threatened him in no uncertain terms that “over his dead body was he going to drive to Mulungushi Rock of Authority to Open the Convention!

At this point, EL excused himself to answer a phone call outside in the Corridor of the Barracks Commander’s Office where this meeting was taking place. At this point we agreed never to get back in the Meeting but sneak out from the Barracks with a view to dash to Mulungushi Rock of Authority to address our supporters who were slowly becoming agitated at the non appearance of Guy Scott who called for that Convention.

We walked incognito a distance of about 2.5km from the Venue of the “Hostage Meeting” to Kohima Barracks main gate on the Kabwe – Ndola Road & jumped on vehicles to Mulungushi Rock of Authority. Before we could get to the Gate, the Helicopter that had flown this Team with EL from Lusaka took off back to for Lusaka flying above our heads with Dr Guy Scott & his team inside but left out one more person behind whom they had flown with into Kabwe Kohima Barracks.

Little did we know that after ECL had sneaked out of that Meeting, a heated argumented ensured between Dr Guy Scott & mama Inonge Wina who asked Dr Guy Scott “why he so much wanted kill the Party of his friend MCS MHSRIP by his undemocratic, unreasonable tendences & his hate for ECL whom happened to be the majority PF Members choice for Party Presidency”?

So the other person who was left out on the Chopper from Kohima Barracks was Mama Inonge Mutukwa Wina because she had backed ECL in that Meeting. We did not know of her being kicked out of that clandestine meeting after ECL had sneaked out of it.

ECL arrived at Mulungushi Rock of Authority to a thunderous welcome of excited PF Delegates/Members.

As we sat on the Stage at Mulungushi Rock of Authority to a cheering Mammoth Audience of Delegates, agony was that there was no one present amongst the PF Senior Members who had the Power to call Delegates to Order & Officially declare the Convection Open!

According to the PF Party Constitution, the PF Convection can only be Called to Order by a PF President or Acting PF President or Party National Chairperson. In this case, Dr Scott had refused to go Officially open this Convection on demand that Edgar Lungu withdraws from the Party Presidential race to pave way for Dr Christine Kaseba to become PF President. On the other hand, the PF National Chairperson Bo Inonge Mutukwa Wina was not in our midst.

——————————————————————————
GOD WORKS MIRACLES THROUGH PEOPLE!
—————————————————————————–

To everyone’s surprise, a Vehicle drove to the main Arena at the Convention just infront of the Stage & one Mama Inonge Mutukwa Wina enlightened from the Vehicle & made way to the stage where ECL was seated much to the Audiences’s loud praises!

After a brief chat with ECL & other Senior PF members on stage, she proceeded to the Podium & Called the Convention to Order & Declared it Officially opened. The Chief Returning Officer Counsel Tutwa.S.Ngulube took over the voting Process.

The rest is history …..

The Hatembos are being kept by one of the chiefs in Southern Province – Mumbi Phiri

0

A WELL-KNOWN UPND-aligned chief from Southern Province is holding the missing Hatembos against their will, PF deputy secretary-general Mumbi Phiri has revealed police have however, refused to confirm whether or not they have zeroed in on the abductors. When contracted on whether police have closed in on the abductors of the Hatembos, Police public relations officer Easter Katongo could neither confirm nor deny.

She said when police are carrying out investigations they do not reveal any detail to the public until investigations are concluded. “I believe everyone has noticed our silence on the same. It means we do not want to jeopardize our investigation. That statement you are asking about has not come from police hence we opt not to confirm or deny,” she said.

Meanwhile, Ms Phiri said according to the PF intelligence, the Hatembos are being kept by one of the chiefs in Southern Province. The chief is a well-known sympathiser of the opposition party. “Even people on the streets are saying the same thing that these people are being held captive by a known chief in Southern Province,” she said. “I am demanding the arrest of the chief who is behind the kidnapping of the victims, not only as deputy secretary-general of the Patriot Front but also as a mother who feels aggrieved by the inhuman manner in which the missing persons have been treated,” she said.

Ms Mumbi said what was going on with the Hatembos has never happened in the history of this country, adding that Zambians should not allow such evil occurrences to happen as a Christian nation. Ms Phiri also wondered why the vocal NonGovernmental Organisations (NGOs) run by women were quiet over the missing Hatembos but were quick to petition the courts over the Cyber Security and Crimes Bill which was meant to protect citizens against cyber bullying. She said it’s clear that the vocal women organisations are mute over the missing Hatembos because they are dead scared of the chief who is behind the crime.

She said no one was above the law and therefore the police should move in and arrest the traditional leader. She said the police should smoke out the chief so that he can tell Zambians why he has been hiding the Hatembos. Ms Phiri said it’s obvious that the people who have abducted the Hatembos especially Pheluna have no heart, because if they did they would have organised a nurse to be looking after her daughter who has a serious condition.

Hatembos siblings Milton and Pheluna disappeared after a highly publicized meeting where the duo refused to appeal a court matter against UPND leader, Hakainde Hichilema which went against them. The duo, went against a family decision to appeal the matter which they lost on account of being time barred. The duo were mysteriously brought to Lusaka to denounce the case and then taken back to Choma where they disappeared after a presser organized by Zitukule Consortium. -Daily Nation

If There Was A Wind Of Change In Favor Of HH, Kambwili And GBM Would Not Have Gone Back To PF -Chilufya Tayali

IF THERE WAS A WIND OF CHANGE IN FAVOR OF HH, KAMBWILI AND GBM WOULD NOT HAVE GONE BACK TO PF
=================
I have come to learn that it takes a lot to survive in politics. And when you join politics, it is difficult to come out, it is like a cult.

The difficulty in politics is that, it is a full time job, 24/7 people expect you to attend to them, if you don’t, they rule you out.

Unfortunately, there is no salary in politics yet it requires you to spend heavily.

But how does one manage to spend when you have no income. I am so irritated when people are always asking for money because I am a politician.

The only way many politicians survive is that they are in Govt or linked to the party in power. Being in opposition is not easy because there is no money.

Dr. Chishimba Kambwili and his fellow “Doctor” GBM from special universities, were in Govt and enjoyed spending, to an extent that, BaKambwili boasted of having a capacity to go to London for English breakfast and come back to the office the same day.

My brother GBM boasted about being among the top 10 rich men in Zambia and I used to go to his house for small changes of 5 pins for Kapenta, as GBM used to say when giving me the money (Sendako iya Kapenta mwana).

These two guys thought they had enough to survive and dislodge the political nonentity in the name of Edgar Chagwa Lungu, but they forgot that, what they had was because they were in power.

Many of these guys claim to be big time businessmen, but it is because they are in power others, their businesses wither faster than a stream in a desert after a rainy day, when they leave Govt.

At different times they joined HH with the hope that, he would dislodge President Lungu, unfortunately their hopes kept on fading as President Lungu consolidated his power, such that, even the coming 2021 general elections is going his way.

This has made the two to realise that, they would be in more suffering for another 5 years if they don’t go back the ruling party.

Hence, the humble apologies coming from the duo. It is not about the the realization of how wrong they were, it is about saving themselves from further suffering.

I admire the faith of some of the UPND supporters who still believe that HH has the political clot to takeover power from President Lungu. This is why people like Charles Kakoma are also changing camp.

TAYALI NI TOUCH AND GO, PRESIDENT WAPA EASY!

EEP – ICHALO BANTU!

ZAMBIA MUST BE OWNED BY ZAMBIANS!

Alexander Nkosi has brought HHs economic ‘blue print’ up for debate

0

Analyst, Alexander Nkosi has brought United Party for National Development leader Hakainde Hichilema’s economic ‘blue print’ up for debate, with some now doubting its feasibility in turning the country’s fortunes for the better.

HH challenged those doubting his plan and its ability to pay bursaries to all students, totaling 147,000.

In his proposition HH said the lenders to Zambia have indicated that they are willing to reschedule such that of up to 20% of current debt repayments will be released for national expenditure.

According to him, what this meant was that immediately this happens, the country’s annual debt repayments will reduce to about US$1.76 billion, saving us as much as US$$440 million.

He went on to say, since the country wants bursaries at K1,980 per month per student, and an academic year is 9 months, this means that for 147,000 students we will need 147,000×1,980×9 which is K2,619,540,000 (K2.62bn).

This K2.62bn is US$116 million at the current exchange rate of about K22.50. With our savings of US$440 million we can afford this.

However, Nkosi challenged HH to the turf, pointing out the flaws in his economic plan and exposing its shortcomings.

Response by Alexander Nkosi

Dear Mr. Hakainde Hichilema Thank you very much for responding to my questions. I see this as Zambians discussing so as to find feasible solutions to some of our economic challenges, dialogue is very healthy. I have gone through your response. Here is my response:

1) IMF and lenders are non partisan. They are interested in leadership that reflects through policies put forward to address the challenges. They do not want policies that will put us on same path that led to these challenges. When you ask to restructure, they want to see us avoiding things like – subsidies, free education, free healthcare, mass recruitment into civil service and huge payrise – because these basically add to our pressure. They would want us to spend within our means and not start providing free things when we are begging to have our debt restructured. So even before you get your proposal accepted, you will be required to make these commitments. So here is where we differ in expert opinion: your assumption is that they will agree to restructure debt which will release 20% of what is spent on debt service and my argument is that them agreeing to your debt restructuring proposal will depend on your fiscal management strategy and if they see all these free things you are promising at a time you are begging for restructuring you will not get your wish and you won’t have that 20%.

2) The second point is that no lender has indicated anything to you, it is the government of Zambia through the contracted firm that communicates to these lenders. No individual can go behind and discuss anything with them on behalf of the Republic of Zambia. Those who understand how these negotiations are managed will agree with me. It is actually a complex process, and with bonds sometimes it involves thousands of individual investors. Even professional and reputable firms like the one we hired do not have it the easier way. So yes you are a reputable businessman and politician in Zambia but this is a different thing altogether. So you have not talked to any lenders but my assumption is that the 20% debt relief you have mentioned is what you would propose if you formed government.

3) Like I explained earlier, for you to promise free education you need to have all the key statistics, you need to know the actual total number of students and the cost of providing free education. Let’s work with actual numbers unlike giving examples, it gives an impression you do not know the number of students and estimated total cost of providing free education.

Even if I’m to work with the 147,000 you have given, your calculations are not correct. In your previous article the 147,000 is the total number of students completing grade 12 and moving to tertiary institutions every year. This does not represent the total number of students, it is just an intake. If we assume an average of 5 years per course, then each year would have 147,000 multiplied by 5, giving us 735,000 learners. Your assumption is that K1,980 would be enough for monthly stipend (bursary). Hence the correct figure is K13 billion which is $595 million.

Note that this is just meal allowance. When you add the school fees which include quality tuition, medical cover and accommodation estimated at K30,000 per year per student, it goes to K22 billion, giving us a total of K35 billion ($1.6 billion). Note that this is just tertiary, we have to include the cost of free education from grade 1 to 12 as well which is equally huge. Education is not all about tuition fees and meal allowances, we also have to increase the number of facilities; more student hostels, lecturer rooms and equipping them adequately. The total cost goes way beyond K50 billion.

3) Your Revenue: The other thing is that it is not correct to assume that restructuring will give us more money. If we follow your policies where you are promising to significantly cut down on borrowing this means the reduction in borrowing will actually be higher than the amount relased from restructured debt. You further promise to significantly lower taxes. It takes time for the reduction in taxes to translate into improved economic activities and more revenue. So the immediate effect will be a reduction in revenue. Broadening the tax base also has a double effect of giving some relief to certain players and bringing on board others, so there is a process of adjustment and its final outcome is difficult to predict in actual numbers. Improve compliance is a process. This all points to the fact that you will be faced with reduced revenue so the reality is that you will have less to spend despite restructuring.

4) Your Expenditure: Free education is not the only free thing you have promised. You promised free quality healthcare, mass recruitment into civil service, huge payrise, clear over K30 billion domestic arrears, clear arrears for council workers, stipends for headmen and many other things, and you are promising all these in the short term. How do you reconcile this with your reduced revenue?

Thank you and stay blessed.

Meanwhile, following Nkosi’s submission, many people have since been drawn into debate, a move which would require HH to come on board once again to explain and defend his position.

Why South Africa’s anthem comprises five different languages in the same song

It is not that there are five linguistic renditions of South Africa’s national anthem even though there may as well be. But the legitimate anthem of the Rainbow Nation since 1997 is a five-language lyrical composition, making it the most unique anthem in the world in this regard.

The five different languages are Xhosa, Zulu, Sesotho, Afrikaans and English.

Having that much linguistic diversity can only be for the purpose of tapping into the strength of differences. And it would seem that is exactly what the 12-member committee that oversaw the foundation of the anthem took into cognizance. Indeed, this vision was stated in the document that founded the committee and was authorized by Nelson Mandela.

The native Black populations of South Africa are different and many. The country has 11 official languages and nine of them are originally African. These differences are also a fact that the apartheid government tried its possible best to help it realize a white-dominated and separate nation.

South Africa’s anthem is informally known by the Xhosa reference ‘Nkosi Sikelel’ iAfrika which translates as Lord Bless Africa. That name is taken from a hymn authored in 1897 by Enoch Sontonga, a Xhosa man who was a Methodist clergyman. However, that does not tell the whole story of the anthem.

The anthem is mainly a combination of two songs – ‘Nkosi Sikelel’ iAfrika and Die Stem van Suid-Afrika – The Call of South Africa – the apartheid-era anthem composed in the 1930s. After 1994, both anthems were used by South Africa until 1997.

For a long time, Nkosi Sikelel’ iAfrika stood as an anthem of defiance of white-minority rule and apartheid. It was adopted by the African National Congress (ANC) in 1912 and it has been associated with African nationalism in South Africa and southern Africa ever since. Apart from South Africa, Nkosi Sikelel’ iAfrika was in various forms, the anthem of Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe, with Tanzania still retaining a Swahili version.

When Nkosi Sikelel’ iAfrika and Die Stem van Suid-Afrika were married, a few other verses in other languages were introduced leaving South Africans with the following:

Nkosi Sikelel’ iAfrika (Xhosa)
Maluphakanyisw’ uphondo lwayo (Xhosa)
Yizwa imithandazo yethu, (Zulu)
Nkosi sikelela, thina lusapho Iwayo. (Zulu)
(Sesotho)

Uit die blou van onse hemel, (Afrikaans)
Uit die diepte van ons see, (Afrikaans)
Oor ons ewige gebergtes, (Afrikaans)
Waar die kranse antwoord gee, (Afrikaans)

Sounds the call to come together,
And united we shall stand,
Let us live and strive for freedom
In South Africa our land.

ECL Means Well For Zambia, I Can’t Imagine The Damage HH Would Cause – Charles Kakoma

0

April 3, 2021

Former United Party for National Development (UPND) Spokesperson Charles Kakoma said that he left UPND because he felt betrayed for choosing to sideline him and the people of North Western Province.

Speaking at a PF Mobilisation rally in Chavuma District of North-Western Province where more than 600 people defected from UPND to PF, Kakoma wondered what UPND would do to North-Western Province if they were to form Government.

“You saw me leaving the UPND to join the PF just a few days ago. That move was necessitated by you people who felt betrayed by the UPND for choosing to sideline me and you in the party. God forbid but imagine what they could do if they were in government,” Kakoma said.

Kakoma assured the people of Chavuma and North-Western Province that President Lungu and the PF means well for them as could be seen from the development that he has rolled out in the area, adding that joined the ruling party because he wants to continue serving the people by lobbying for more development to come to North-Western Province hence the need for the locals to support President Lungu and the PF.

He has assured the residents that more development is guaranteed to come to Chavuma Distrcit and the entire Western Province and urged the residents to remain committed to their pledge to support President Lungu and the PF in the August polls and also called on everyone who wishes to join the party not to hold themselves back.

Speaking at the same event Minister of Foreigh Affairs Joseph Malanji said he was impressed with the overwhelming response by the residents in the area who have resolved to work with the government of President Lungu to take development to all parts of the country.

“It is good to see that the people of Chavuma District and North-Western Province as a whole are beginning to realize that President Edgar Lungu and the PF government has their best interests at heart despite the malicious accusations levelled against him by some people who want to sow confusion everywhere,” Malanji said.

Malanji has assured them that more development is poised to come to the area soon because President Lungu has vowed to transform the area into a hub of economic activity to uplift the standards of living for the residents.

Kambwili is looking for ways to survive jail – Phiri

0

ABRAHAM Phiri says the Zambian people should not trust embattled NDC leader Chishimba Kambwili as he is looking for ways to survive jail.

Phiri, who is Copperbelt Advocates for Justice and Peace executive director, said politics was a service and not meant for personal protection.

He said PF would not change anything even with the inclusion of Kambwili.

He said Zambians, especially on the Copperbelt, were aware of the selfish motives of the ruling party.

He argued that Kambwili had no interest for the people but was looking for ways to avoid jail.

“We know what the man is looking for. But as advocates for Justice and Peace, this is not the right way to look for peace and freedom. Ba Kambwili was wrong and found wanting by the courts, so how can he seek that freedom by joining the PF? Is the PF in charge of giving people freedom? This is not right,” Phiri said.

He said Kambwili should stop fooling the Zambian people.

“It is to fool the people. No one was forcing ba Kambwili to say what he was saying. It is on record that he even had to pay for his programmes to be rebroadcast, so what has changed now? The Zambian people have their eyes open and can read in between the lines and lies of ba Kambwili,” said Phiri.

Last month, NDC Copperbelt chairman George Sichula said Kambwili was looking for personal freedom for himself and his family.

He said Kambwili was a convict but out on an appeal, and had not yet been acquitted.

“I feel sad to see how some people are struggling to understand the former NDC interim president. As far as we are concerned, he has made a very brilliant move for himself and his family. Any reasonable parent and husband would do that. If I may ask; what do you want him to do/say to the Zambian people? Anyway, you need political discernment to understand this. Our brother has been having very serious cases, which took him to prison for a month and currently surviving on an appeal. An appeal is not an acquittal. This [alliance] is too dangerous for him and his family,” Sichula argued. “I remember him issuing out a statement to complain that Zambians kept quiet when he battled it alone. He has a family to look after. We all know that if he supports the PF then his cases will be dropped, if he supports the Alliance he will straight go to prison. Between the two, I can also choose my freedom. Boma in boma bane. Bear with him for once. Kuti mwaletelela umunenu (you may cause trouble for our colleague). Politics in Africa are very dirty.”

During a funeral of Chabu Kibombwe in Kitwe on Wednesday, Kambwili, who symbolically reunited with PF stalwarts in Davies Mwila and Mumbi Phiri, among those he once disgraced, declared that he would work with President Edgar Lungu to solve Zambia’s problems.

Lungu verified his G12 certificate for drama, he’s ineligible – Kalaba

0

DEMOCRATIC Party president Harry Kalaba says it is merely drama that President Edgar Lungu went to verify his Grade 12 certificate.

Kalaba also asserts that the DP enjoys a fair market share of voters in Southern Province.

On Tuesday, President Lungu went to Andrew Mwenya polling station in Chawama Constituency, Lusaka, to have his voting details verified.

After that, the President went to the Examinations Council of Zambia (ECZ) service centre in Woodlands, Lusaka where he had his Grade 12 certificate verified.

But Kalaba wondered why someone who is ineligible to contest the Republican presidency, for a third time, can be rushing to do something reserved for those who are eligible.

“I don’t know what the President was doing that thing for (verification of his Grade 12 certificate). He is not eligible! He will not stand in the elections which we’ll be having in August this year. He doesn’t qualify!” Kalaba said in an interview in Chikankata on Wednesday. “Even if he was verifying his Grade 12 certificate, it was just for drama, to show that he can waste time in that fashion.”

The opposition leader is shocked that when most Zambians complained about mischiefs like the government’s procurement of expired drugs, President Lungu opted for silence.

“We have also been talking about corruption in his government and all these other things and he says nothing. But when it comes to something that he is not supposed to be part of – the verification of Grade 12 results – he goes,” Kalaba said. “What is he verifying his Grade 12 certificate for, because he is not eligible? He can’t go for a third term. Can’t he get that in his ears?”

He further spoke about the poorly publicised voter verification process, that started on March 29 and closes today.

He explained that out of 12,000 polling stations, there were only 3,000 where people could have their details corrected.

“The other 9,000 polling stations don’t have machinery. The ECZ (Electoral Commission of Zambia) doesn’t have money. Actually, they are short of about K400 million, and yet President Lungu bought a jet…” Kalaba complained. “The President has not taken the electoral system seriously and he hopes to win with a system which he has undermined so heavily. All he does is making reckless statements which jeopardise the electoral process, like ‘the ECZ is concentrating the issuance of voters’ cards in opposition strongholds.’ We are at our lowest!”

Meanwhile, speaking to DP supporters in Chikankata district, Southern Province, Kalaba reiterated his grievance about the 31-kilometre potholed and dusty stretch, that branches off from the Kafue – Mazabuka highway, to go to Chikankata Salvation Army Mission.

The Chikankata Salvation Army Mission runs a hospital, boarding secondary school, radio station and two colleges – one for nursing and the other one for biomedical sciences.

“When I came here last year, I talked about this Chikankata road and I have found it even worse this year. It’s 31 kilometres from the Kafue – Mazabuka road but it takes you two hours to reach here,” Kalaba said. “How can you not have a proper road coming here when there are even two strategic institutions here? You have Chikankata College of Nursing and Chikankata College of Biomedical Sciences. But just constructing a proper 31 kilometres of a tarred road; that should honestly be impossibility? Those are jokes! And can you imagine Chikankata district without the Salvation Army; there will be nothing here!”

He told supporters that the DP was waging a new form of struggle to redeem all Zambians from government-made poverty.

Kalaba further indicated that he did not buy public perception that nearly all southerners belonged to the UPND.

“We’ll have our own share of votes as DP in Southern Province and we respect the market share of the UPND here. But we’ll also have our market share here,” said Kalaba. “And there is nothing that can take me back to the PF. Not money! If the Zambian people don’t want to give me an opportunity, at least I have presented myself. But if they say they want others, that is their own fault. And they will be committing a mistake of great proportion.”

NDC is in the ICU because of Kambwili, says Malite

0

KAMBWILI wants, at all costs, to survive and he knows that he has become irrelevant in the opposition, says NDC ‘media director’ Emmanuel Malite.

And Malite says NDC is in the ICU (Intensive Care Unit), because of Kambwili.

Chishimba Kambwili is the embattled leader of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

The NDC, that was formed after the expulsion of Kakmwbili and Mwenya Musenge from PF, would be four years old in September this year.

The opposition party is overwhelmed with wrangling and currently, both Kambwili and his once-upon-a-time deputy, Josephs Akafumba, are called presidents by their factions.

The Kambwili NDC is currently asking those willing to contest selected parliamentary seats on its ticket to apply while the Akafumba NDC is part of the UPND Alliance.

For Roan Constituency, for instance, Kambwili’s son, Mwamba, has been flaunted as an aspiring NDC candidate, ahead of this August general elections.

But Malite laughed off such a proposition.

“The desire and selfishness of Kambwili is now alarming, where he cannot just let go of his political life. But he is now a finished politician. Politics, as we stand, do not favour Kambwili,” Malite told The Mast.

“He is now just desirous to simply be relevant in the system, without even a heart of serving the people of Zambia. That’s the reason he has gone ahead and pushed his innocent son, Mwamba, who has no political experience whatsoever.”

He continued, saying: “Mwamba has never been active in NDC and he does not hold any position in NDC from inception.”

“He was left to run Mwamoma Engineering and Technical Services Limited (Kambwili’s company),” he noted.

“Kambwili wants, at all costs, to survive and he knows that he has become irrelevant in the opposition. Even where he is going to the Patriotic Front, he has no proof that he is taking numbers.”

He pointed out that the Akafumba-led NDC rejected Kambwili’s wish that everything in the party should go his way.

“It’s very alarming that he can be forcing his own son to start facing political battles. Listen to me; Mwamba can never woo even a Grade seven to vote for him, because he has never been in politics,” Malite said.

“Kambwili is now bringing confusion to both sides – in the NDC and UPND. As things stand, NDC is in the ICU (Intensive Care Unit), because of Kambwili.”

He added that: “we cannot even risk our members to stand on the NDC ticket as parliamentary and local government candidates.”

“The NDC matter is in court and so, why should we risk having parliamentary and local government candidates on our party ticket?” noted Malite.

“So, this issue of trying to suppress the UPND Alliance and what not…We are saying NDC members should stand on the UPND Alliance because we know that they are safe there than on NDC right now. We cannot predict what will come out of the court on the matter of the NDC deregistration because the State has appealed the judgment that came from the Kabwe High Court.”

DON’T TEST OUR PATIENCE…let the will of the people prevail, Akafumba tells PF

0

DON’T test Zambians’ patience, NDC ‘interim president’ Josephs Akafumba tells the PF.

He has appealed to the PF to respect the will of the people in August.

Commenting on PF member of the central committee Kebby Mbewe who told Dundumwezi headmen that whether people in the area reject President Edgar Lungu in the August general elections or not he will still be President of Zambia, Akafumba said donations from the Head of State which have become the order of the day were a sign of desperation on the part of the PF.

“I have noticed with great concern the desperate tactics being employed by President Edgar Lungu, from donating jackets to headmen in Eastern Province to fooling miners with K50 worth of mealie-meal and now to bicycles in Southern Province,” he said. “I also note with great disappointment the statement by one Kebby Mbewe that even if the people of Dundumwezi reject Mr Lungu, he will still be Head of State. This is a desperate attempt by a dictatorial regime to intimidate and fool Zambians. The PF must not test Zambians’ patience. Zambians have been patient enough and cannot take it anymore. They have suffered untold misery. Poverty is in everyone’s eyes. They are no longer smiling, all Zambians look as if they are crying as they walk the streets.”

Akafumba said Zambians now more than ever want change and will do everything in line with the law to change government come August 12.

“So I appeal to the PF not to tamper with Zambians’ will when they vote in August. Let the will of the people prevail and move on. I also get so disturbed when every bootlicker in the PF says President Lungu will be President when we still have one problem with him regarding his eligibility to contest the presidency,” Akafumba said.

He appealed to all Zambians to have their voters’ cards verified and turn up in numbers on August 12 and vote for the UPND Alliance.

“Go out and vote on the UPND Alliance. We will have councillors, members of parliament and the presidential candidate Hakainde Hichilema on the ballot paper. Ignore the PF candidates,” said Akafumba. “But as of now, if and when they give you money or a bicycle, get but don’t vote for them in August.”

66 UPND MEMBERS JOIN PF
ABOUT 66 United Party for National Development (UPND) members in Solwezi Central constituency have defected to the ruling Patriotic Front (PF).

The members mainly traders from the Solwezi main market resigned from the opposition party to join the ruling party during a mobilisation meeting addressed by PF Solwezi Central aspiring candidate Jackson Kungo yesterday.

Speaking on behalf of the defectors, Getrude Ntambo who is a trader in Solwezi main market said the members have decided to join PF because the opposition party has nothing to offer. Ms Ntambo said the marketeers have for a long time suffered at the hands of the UPND opposition leaders who run the Solwezi council and parliamentary seat. The defectors have since resolved to support the PF and President Edgar Lungu in the August 12 general elections.

She said markeeters in Solwezi have not benefitted from the empowerment programmes being initiated by Government because they have been supporting the opposition for a long time.
In receiving the defectors, Mr Kungo urged the traders to go flat out and campaign for PF and President Edgar Lungu to ensure victory in the August polls.

“You must ensure that President Edgar Lungu goes back to State House, ” he said.
Mr Kungo said there are no membership cards in PF and urged old members to embrace the new comers in order to grow the party.

He said there is no leadership in UPND and that is the reason why people are joining PF everyday.
“President Edgar Lungu has provided leadership,” he said. Mr Kungo said the constituency has lagged behind in development because people have been voting for the opposition UPND Members of Parliament (MPs) who have failed to lobby for development. He has promised to work on the township roads and look into the welfare of markeeters once adopted and elected as Member of Parliament this year.

Solwezi district women’s secretary Ireen Kikambo said markeeters in the district have resolved to vote for the PF in the August 12 general elections because they want to start benefiting from the empowerment programmes. Ms Kikambo urged the traders to go flat out and campaign for the PF to ensure victory for PF and President Lungu in the August polls.

UPND Decided to Sideline Me and the People of North Western Province- Charles Kakoma

0

Former United Party for National Development (UPND) Spokesperson Charles Kakoma said that he left UPND because he felt betrayed for choosing to sideline him and the people of North Western Province.

Speaking at a PF Mobilisation rally in Chavuma District of North-Western Province where more than 600 people defected from UPND to PF, Mr. Kakoma wondered what UPND would do to North-Western Province if they were to form Government.

“You saw me leaving the UPND to join the PF just a few days ago. That move was necessitated by you people who felt betrayed by the UPND for choosing to sideline me and you in the party. God forbid but imagine what they could do if they were in government,” Mr. Kakoma said.

Mr Kakoma assured the people of Chavuma and North-Western Province that President Lungu and the PF means well for them as could be seen from the development that he has rolled out in the area, adding that joined the ruling party because he wants to continue serving the people by lobbying for more development to come to North-Western Province hence the need for the locals to support President Lungu and the PF.

“It is good to see that the people of Chavuma District and North-Western Province as a whole are beginning to realize that President Edgar Lungu and the PF government has their best interests at heart despite the malicious accusations levelled against him by some people who want to sow confusion everywhere,” Hon. Malanji said.

Hon. Malanji has assured them that more development is poised to come to the area soon because President Lungu has vowed to transform the area into a hub of economic activity to uplift the standards of living for the residents.

Why is PF Government Seeking IMF Bailout when Copper Price is at all-time high of US$9,000 per metric tonne?

0

By Sean Tembo

1. As Patriots for Economic Progress (PeP) it is our considered opinion that the continued attempt by Government to get a bailout loan from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) at a time that the price for copper is at an all-time high of about US$9,000 per metric tonne, is ample evidence that the PF have failed to run this country and need to be retired in the national interest on 12th August this year.

It must be noted that IMF bailout loans are meant for countries that have no resources and are on the brink of total economic collapse. However, Zambia has an abundance of resources and world economic parameters are in our favour due to the advent of electric vehicles which has caused a major surge in the price of copper which is a major component in their manufacture and is our major export commodity.

2. Given the circumstances at hand, our expectations as Patriots for Economic Progress were that the Government would be talking about how best the country should utilize the surge in copper prices for our economic prosperity and not talking about getting an IMF bailout loan.

The fact that the PF and its Government see borrowing as a solution to every national economic problem renders credence to our long held position that the Patriotic Front is a party that is made up of incompetent people that were in group C in class. Therefore, any reasonable Zambian should not expect improvement in the manner that the PF Government will run the affairs of this nation, should Zambians be naive enough to re-elect them back into office.

3. As Patriots for Economic Progress, we wish to appeal to the Zambian people to vote into office a political party that will competently and diligently run the affairs of this nation and which will be able to convert the huge economic potential that Zambia has into actual wealth for the benefit of Zambians. That political party is the Patriots for Economic Progress. The only thing that the PF and its Government are capable of doing is contracting more and more national debt, despite the fact that we have already defaulted on our debt repayment.

Come 12th August, if Zambians insist on re-electing this collection of group C individuals when group A is available, the end result will be continued shrinkage of the economy, unemployment, poverty, squalor and corruption. Zambians have a very important decision to make on 12th August this year. We have already seen what group C is able to do. It is now time to try group A.

‘I lost an eye’: Victims denounce Gbagbo’s exoneration by ICC

0

Former Ivory Coast president Laurent Gbagbo appears to be on a fast track for homecoming after being definitively acquitted by the International Criminal Court (ICC) of war crimes charges.

The ruling on Wednesday ends a legal saga that had enmeshed Gbagbo, 75, for nearly a decade, opening the door to what his supporters say will be a triumphant return.

A deeply divisive figure, Gbagbo was hauled off to the ICC after being forced out of power in April 2011 following a brief civil war, sparked when he refused to concede electoral defeat.

Gbagbo’s supporters, who have long clamored his innocence, have been campaigning for his early return, arguing that it will heal the country’s wounds.

“I am very moved, I am very proud, it’s all over,” said Victorine Tiebesson, a member of Gbagbo’s Ivorian Popular Front (FPI), who joined several dozen fellow supporters on Wednesday to celebrate after the verdict was announced in The Hague.

“He’s soon going to be coming back to us — it’s the missing link in reconciliation in Ivory Coast.”

Armand Ouegnin, a lawmaker who heads a pro-Gbagbo coalition of which the FPI is the main component, said, “President Laurent Gbagbo has never been a criminal.”

“He will come back to help national reconciliation,” he said. “He will make a triumphant return.”

A similarly positive tone was sounded by Henri Konan Bedie, who heads the opposition PDCI party.

Once a rival to Gbagbo but now an ally, Bedie said the acquittal of Gbagbo and his former right-hand man Charles Ble Goude would “contribute to an easing of tensions” in Ivory Coast’s troubled politics.

The ICC also upheld the acquittal of the former youth militia leader Ble Goude, who on Thursday said he now hoped for a “gesture” from the leaders in Ivory Coast — “an amnesty or a pardon” — so that “president Laurent Gbagbo and I can return home”.

Time for a comeback?

Gbagbo was forced out after 10 years in power by the current president, Alassane Ouattara, following a months-long conflict that claimed several thousand lives and split the country along north-south lines.

But he retained strong support at home despite spending years behind bars in The Hague, as well as time in Brussels, where he awaited the outcome of an appeal against his 2019 acquittal.

It was last year that Gbagbo positioned himself for a potential comeback.

Casting himself as a conciliatory figure, he warned of the risk of “catastrophe” as storm clouds brewed ahead of presidential elections.

Scores died in unrest after Ouattara announced his bid for a third term — a plan that critics said scorned constitutional limits on presidential tenure.

In the grim aftermath of a vote almost universally boycotted by the opposition, Ouattara tendered an olive branch to his former rival.

He said Gbagbo had a role to play in reconciliation and provided him with two passports, one of them a diplomatic pass.

As the mood brightened, Gbagbo’s FPI took part in legislative elections this month, breaking a decade-long boycott.

Victims’ anger

Ouattara’s RHDP had still to officially react on Thursday to Gbagbo’s acquittal.

But deep-seated distrust persists toward Gbagbo among Ivorians who say he plunged his country into chaos.

The acquittal “is a decision that enshrines impunity — the victims believe that they have been taken for a judicial ride,” said Issiaka Diaby, who heads a victims’ campaign group called CVCI.

“My truck was burned. There are four bullets in my head so I am a victim. But when I read the Koran, I forgave the one who did the evil. The evil is already done. I was well. I lost an eye. There was a bullet that went into my eye,” said Adama Bakayoko, a survivor of the 2010 violence.

The ICC’s ruling definitively clears Gbagbo of four charges of crimes against humanity, including murder, persecution, and rape committed during the conflict.

He is not totally out of the legal woods, however.

Technically he could be jailed on his return, having been sentenced in absentia to a 20-year term for “looting” the local branch of the Central Bank of the West African States at the time.

But this scenario seems unlikely.

“To arrest Laurent Gbagbo and send him to Maca (Abidjan’s main prison) is hard to imagine,” said analyst Sylvain N’Guessan.

“It would create problems, whereas the mood right now is to dial down political tension.”

An Independent Presidential Candidate- An Act of Democracy or State of Anarchy?

0

By Amb. Emmanuel Mwamba

I have noted a flurry of persons declaring that they will stand as independent presidential candidates in the forth-coming General Elections due on August 12th.

In the past, independent presidential candidates were forbidden as it was explicitly provided for in the Constitution that a presidential candidate, among other qualifications, needed to be sponsored by a political party.

For unknown reasons, or omission, this provision is no longer available under Article 101 and Article 30 of the Constitution of Zambia which provide for the qualifications of a presidential candidate and vice president.

I also looked at Part V of the Constitution that provide for both the Electoral System and Electoral Process.

I also looked at the role of political parties (Article 60) whose key functions among others, is to nominate persons to a state office in respect of national elections.

I also perused the provisions of Article 68 that provides for the composition of the National Assembly.

The Constitution, however provides for the position of a candidate wishing to stand as an independent Member of Parliament, and Article 51 provides;

Art 51. “A person is eligible for election as an independent candidate for a National Assembly seat if the person”—

(a) “is not a member of a political party and has not been a member of a political party for at least two months immediately before the date of the election; and (b) meets the qualifications specified in Article 70 for election as a Member of Parliament.”

However there are no similar provisions for an independent person to stand as a presidential candidate.

CONCLUSION

Under the amended 2016 Constitution and the Electoral Act, it is clear that a presidential candidate may not require the endorsement or sponsorship of a political party.

The only requirement among the usual stated qualifications under the Constitution but provided for under the Electoral Act, is that such a candidate must bring and have the endorsement of 100 registered voters drawn from each of the ten provinces of Zambia.

Another limiting factor may be the nomination fees for presidential candidates(K95,000).

But however this is big!

What it means, and if my interpretation is correct, is that we are going to have an unregulated high number of persons seeking to stand as presidential candidates, and the number may reach a nuisance level!

What is your view about an independent presidential candidate? Do you think it is workable in Zambia? Do you think Zambia should accept this scenario? Will the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) manage if a huge number of persons submit as independent presidential candidates? Do we need to seek the interpretation of the Constitution Court on the matter relying on old practice?

Have your say.

I AM NOT A PF SURROGATE – NAWAKWI

0

By Staff Reporter

Controversial Forum for Democracy and Development (FDD) leader Edith Nawakwi has wondered why Zambians do not question UPND’s failures in all the alliances the party has been previously involved.

Featuring on Diamond TV last evening, Nawakwi said there had never been an alliance that worked in which UPND was part to, citing the United Democratic Alliance (UDA), the 2009 pact with the ruling Patriotic Front (PF), and the recent collapse involving the NDC, which equally failed because of UPND.

She said because of her disagreements on fundamental issues with main opposition party, she was being called all sorts of names.

Nawakwi was responding to assertions that she had become a surrogate of the PF and President Edgar Chagwa Lungu, dismissing such assertions – further explaining that the only offense she committed that triggered such a narrative was her disassociation from a UPND.

She said only UPND supporters call her a PF surrogate, which she totally disagrees with. She said she was not a PF surrogate.

“The people who call me that (surrogate), am afraid, are people whom I have refused to support. The relationship between them and FDD ended. And the moment it ended, in 2016 when I was called to support them and I refused, I was called a surrogate of PF and a surrogate of President Lungu. That is the name my distractors want to use. But you will agree with me that I cannot side with a political party whose policies I don’t agree. FDD has been here from 2001 to date,” Nawakwi explained last evening on Diamond TV programme monitored by Daily Revelation. “I think if you look at the history of some of political parties, let say UPND, how many alliances have they been in and out? No one raises anything. It only becomes an issue when Edith Nawakwi says that which is not pleasing to the opposition.”

And Nawakwi said it does not make common sense to demand for a Grade 12 certificate from every Zambian who want aspire for political office.

She called on the Attorney General to interpret the law bordering on Grade 12 as a requirement to vie for political office. She said Zambia does not only belong to the elite to govern the affairs of this country. Nawakwi said she sometimes wonder whether or not the Zambian judiciary existed in the air.

“There are many judgements where when you look at, you wonder to say, are they working on the moon or where? When there is a bad law from parliament, the judiciary in many instances does correct the wrong that parliament has created. I draw people from justice Musumali. The issue was that the law could not allow women to sign papers for their children to get passports. And justice Musumali changed that law. Now when they get a document like the 2016 constitution which has many lacunas; many mistakes because people were drunk some of them when they were doing that law – it’s up to the court to interpret (it) in such a way that is fair. I think the Grade 12 certificate… I am a Master of Science degree holder. Now you are asking me for a Grade 12 certificate. I don’t even know whether my Cambridge certificate is acceptable. Is Cambridge equivalent to Grade 12 certificate?” Nawakwi asked. “If I have a degree from University of London, why on earth should I be looking for a Grade 12 certificate? It doesn’t make common sense. And I think the Attorney General should step in and interpret to say, look this country doesn’t only belong to the elite, it belongs to every Zambian.”

Nawakwi said from the perspective of the Grade 12 clause, it was clear that some law makers were not in the right frame of mind when they were amending…- Daily Revelation

I Took Part In Stealing Money Because I Wanted To Feed My Family, Says Female Robber

I TOOK PART IN STEALING MONEY BECAUSE I WANTED TO FEED MY FAMILY, SAYS FEMALE ROBBER

Three notorious Zimbabwean criminals and a 28-year-old Zambian woman have been slapped with five-year jail terms for stealing from a motor vehicle in Ndola.
One of the three Zimbabwean criminals told the Ndola Magistrates’ Court that he is a business tycoon.

The four notorious criminals, among them 28-year-old Ethel Lyambai of Matero, were charged with theft from a motor vehicle belonging to security guard Francis Kunda, from Zambezi Portland Cement.
Mr Kunda was sent by Zambezi Portland Cement managing director Gomeli Litana to withdraw the money.

The criminals are Owen Msimanga, 48, of house number 161 in Matero, Norman Nguni, 47 of house number 1126 Chunga, Lusaka, Charles Lunga, 45, of an unmarked house in Matero, and Lyambai, 28, of house number 1772, Muchinga Road in Chunga, Lusaka.
It was heard that the four, jointly and whilst acting together, did steal K132,082, the property of Gomeli Litana.

When the matter came up for plea before Ndola Principal Resident Magistrate Obister Musukwa, the four all pleaded guilty to the charge.

Mr Msimanga introduced himself as a business executive, while Mr Nguni he is a business tycoon. Mr Lunga introduced himself as a vendor while Ms Lyambai said she a business lady.
The three Zimbabweans said they stole the money because they wanted to pay for their children’s school fees, while Ms Lyambai said she wanted to use it to sustain her family.
The state then read the facts of the case before court.

“Francis Kunda, 34, of Flat number 12, Madur Court, Shinde Street, Town Centre, Ndola reported that while driving a Toyota Hilux, black in colour, registration number BAA 2877, he was attacked by the four criminals who were armed with a pistol, and stole cash from him amounting to K132,048. Kunda was sent by his employer to FNB Bank in town to withdraw money to pay workers who had worked at the company Farm. Kunda withdrew K132, 048, and went to the industrial area in Masala to pay the farmers. While on his way, Kunda noticed a Toyota Allion trailing him,” facts read in brief.

“He decided to park his car at Industrial Post Office and went to address the Farmers. It was at this moment that one criminal got out of their car, went and broke the left front passenger window and got the bag containing money. When people saw what was happening, they shouted while the criminals rushed into their car, a Toyota Allion Registration number ADE 722 and sped off. Kunda and other good Samaritans gave chase, the criminals lost control and hit into a stationary truck along Ndola-Kabwe Road.”

The four convicts said the facts where true and correct.
In mitigation, the four asked the court to forgive them because they did not waste the court’s time.

But Magistrate Musukwa said cases of theft from motor vehicle were on the rise in Ndola.
“I have heard your mitigation, but it must be noted that you could have first thought of this before you acted. Cases of this nature are so high in the district and a custodial sentence is appropriate. For the first three accused, I sentence you to 5 years imprisonment with hard labour while the fourth accused, I sentence you to 5 years simple imprisonment effective today,” said Magistrate Musukwa.

Victory Is Certain For Any Candidate That Will Contest On The PF Ticket- Antonio Mwanza

0

VICTORY IS CERTAIN FOR ANY CANDIDATE THAT WILL CONTEST ON THE PF TICKET-ANTONIO MWANZA

… as he says the ruling party has been overwhelmed with applications from people wishing to contest on the PF ticket

Lusaka, Thursday 1st April 2021

(SmartEagles)

Patriotic Front (PF) Deputy Media Director Antonio Mwanza says victory is certain for any candidate that will contest on the PF ticket in the fourth coming August 12 general elections.

Speaking when he featured on Live Radio in Lusaka today, Mr. Mwanza said the PF is overwhelmed with the number of aspiring candidates wishing to contest on the party ticket.

Mr. Mwanza disclosed that in Lusaka alone, the party has received an average of 10 applications from people wishing to contest on the PF ticket in each constituency.

He charged that unlike the opposition UPND that is begging people to contest on their ticket, the ruling PF is overwhelmed with applications from credible and saleable candidates because they know that victory is certain for them once adopted.

“This shows that people have realized that the Patriotic Front is the sure way of winning elections hence the number of applicants the party has received, ” Mr. Mwanza said.

And Mr. Mwanza said it is unfortunate that the UPND has failed to find candidates that will contest on their ticket and are now waiting to adopt those that will not be adopted by the ruling party.

The PF Deputy Media Director charged that it is laughable that the UPND want to adopt the same people they have been calling corrupt, ‘ba mwankole’ and ‘bamushanina ubwali’ to contest on their ticket.

Meanwhile, Mr. Mwanza has reiterated the party’s call on those that will not be adopted not to despair but learn from President Lungu who despite not being adopted when he applied to contest for the Chawama seat in 2006 remained royal to the party.

“President Lungu applied to contest on the party ticket in 2006, he was not adopted; the president did not defect from PF but remained in the party and today he is Republican President” he explained.

Mr. Mwanza said people who will not be adopted must realize that they are more elections coming and more positions in government where they can still be deployed to serve the country.

And Mr. Mwanza has charged that it is unfair for the opposition UPND to write to the African Union and SADC accusing the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) that they were biased in the registration of voters.

“Their letter which is dated 25th of March, 2021, they have accused the Electoral Commission of Zambia of registering more voters in seven provinces which are strongholds of PF against three provinces which were their strongholds,” Mr. Mwanza said.

He explained that the ECZ have done a commendable job hence it will be unfair for anyone to malign them.

The PF Deputy Media Director stated that all the stakeholders have been involved in all the electoral processes by the ECZ starting from the issue of voter registration.

Mr. Mwanza has since urged the UPND to leave the Electoral Commission of Zambia alone saying that if they have any issues they can go to their offices to air their grievances instead of running to the international community.

He charged that the opposition UPND has realized that they do not have the numbers to defeat President Lungu and the PF hence they have resorted to find excuses for their eminent loss.

Mr. Mwanza stated that the PF has seven provinces which are their strongholds and have equally started making way into Western Province which was once a UPND stronghold.

He explained that out of the 25 bye elections that were held in Western Province, the PF managed to win 19 an indication that the Province is no longer a UPND stronghold.

“They have realized that they don’t have the numbers and now want to bring confusion by blaming ECZ, blaming the police and very soon we shall hear that they are blaming the Pop of the Catholic Church for their loss of elections,” Mr. Mwanza said.

PRESIDENT LUNGU’S AGENDA IS TO TRANSFORM THE LIVES OF ZAMBIANS – HON.KAMPYONGO

… as Inspector General of Police Kakoma Kanganja says it is only under the PF Government that the Police Service has witnessed massive infrastructure development.

Home Affairs Minister Hon.Stephen Kampyongo says President Edgar Lungu’s agenda is to better the lives of Zambians.

Speaking when he commissioned and handed over six housing units constructed by ZTE in Chongwe, Hon. Kampyongo said his Ministry has a robust plan for infrastructure development for the Police Service and Chongwe district will continue to benefit.

Hon. Kampyongo said a total of 2,350 modern houses Police houses have been built countrywide in the first phase.

“My Government has prioritized capacity building of security wings under my Ministry to enhance service delivery to the citizenry and uphold ethical conduct and professionalism of our officers, ” Hon. Kampyongo said.

“The able and passionate leadership of His Excellency Dr.Edgar Chagwa Lungu has demonstrated unwavering support in uplifting the conditions of service for the Police Service since assuming power in 2011,” He said.

And Inspector General of Police, Mr. Kakoma Kanganja said it is only through the Patriotic Front ( PF) government, under the able leadership of President Edgar Chagwa Lungu that the police service has witnessed massive infrastructure development projects.

Mr. Kanganja added that the houses have come as a replacement for the ones that were demolished in Sikanze police camp to pave way for the construction of the command centre under the safe City project.

“Chongwe police station was constructed in 1986 as a grade C police station under Chalibana, police station and was later up graded to grade B police station in 1996,” He explained.

The IG lamented that officers have been forced to stay in rented houses within and outside Chongwe district due to the absence of Chongwe police camp, which also makes it difficult for commanders to swiftly mobilize officers during a critical moment.

“Out of the total workforce of about 91 officers, 79 of them stay in Chongwe District, While 12 of them reside outside the district,” He said.

Meanwhile, speaking at the same event Chongwe Member of Parliament Japhen Mwakalombe said Chongwe District has received serious support from the Head of State.

Hon Mwakalombe stated that in the history of Chongwe, the district has never seen a house or police station for men and women in uniform.167824249_1570421146490506_7931885466512700107_n

THE GREATNESS OF KALUSHA BWALYA- The 3 times when he rescued Zambia

0

THE GREATNESS OF KALUSHA BWALYA.

– The 3 times when he rescued Zambia.

Like I said by many that when nothing new exceeds the old, the old gets retold and so is my piece of writing today.

With Zambia failing to qualify for the Afcon tournament consisting of 24 teams which is almost half the continent of Africa and i draw to old positve stories about Zambia football – The greatness of Kalusha Bwalya.

I would pick many stories but for time and space, here are my three favourite times when Kalusha Bwalya showed his greatness and came to the rescue of the nation.

Zimbabwe Vs Zambia (Rufaro Stadium).

Two months after the demise of the our national team on July 23rd in 1993, Zambia was locked in a do or die African cup qualifying encounter against neighboring Zimbabwe, a derby recently famed “The Zambezi Derby.” With only one team qualifying from group 5 which boasted Zimbabwe, South Africa, Mauritius, and Zambia leading by a point before the game and trailing one goal to nil courtesy of Bristol Rovers defender Henry Mckop’s goal which would have taken Zimbabwe a point ahead of Zambia. All hope lost and Zambia on the verge of a double tragedy of losing its team and failing to qualify for Afcon 94, Kalusha rose so high to score a header to level the game 1all in the 80th minute that secured Zambia a spot at the 1994 tournament.

Zambia vs Gabon (Independence Stadium).
April 8th, 1995.

The last game in group 5 of the 1996 Africa cup of nations qualifiers consisting Gabon, Mauritius, South Africa who became hosts, Madagascar and Seychelles who withdrew, Zambia found themselves trailing Gabon by two points on the last day of the qualification campaign. Having managed only two wins against minnows Mauritius and lost 2-1 to the Parfait Odongo led team, there was need for redemption at Independence Stadium. With a shambolic display characterizing that day’s play, the home fans had been quieted like a radio on mute, the usual Chipolopolo iyeee song unheard as many trooped out of the stadium in frustration. Kalusha took matters personally, driving forward and in the commentary of late Dennis Liwewe took a 360 degree turn then shot low to score a goal in the 83rd minute that leveled the group points to qualify the country to Afcon 1996. To this day, this remains the only moment in the history of Zambian football where the number of fans at the end of the game superseded that of those who had initially entered the stadium.

Zambia vs Liberia (Independence Stadium).
September 4th,2004.

Having only garnered four points out of a possible nine after three games played and seemingly destined for a draw in the fourth game against Liberia that would have complicated Zambia’s quest for qualification, Kalusha then head coach of Zambia took matters in his own hands and made a three men substitution that included himself, Harry Milanzi and Christopher Katongo in the 68min. With the game tied zero zero in the 91st minute, Kalu took a free kick and scored from it taking Zambia within a point of the top teams and ensured we still stayed in contention for a spot at both the Africa and World cup.

With such feats and displays for mother Zambia, we could talk and hate him for whatsoever reasons justified and unjustified but none of the reasons will erase these great memories nor take away his greatness.
He earned it and it is etched forever!!!

Long Live Forever King Kalu!!!

Happy Easter Weekend!

PF PUT KU WIRE IN KITWE

PF PUT KU WIRE IN KITWE
———————-
The Kitwe District Elvis Nkandu Management Committee has continued mobilizing the Party in the District despite PF Police intimidation on a daily basis.

The Journey to 12th August 2021 has not been easy for the Elvis Nkandu led team as the PF Police has been arresting and crushing the political space for UPND in Kitwe but this did not make the team stop the mobilisation.

Recent Branch Mobilisation meetings have been turning to look like public rallies as residents in Kitwe can’t wait to see the Government that has been supplying expired drugs out of Government. This is a perfect indicator that PF has been buried in Kitwe. UPND Membership cards are on high demand in the District.

Every corner of Kitwe is red and ready to vote for President Hakainde Hichilema and the UPND.

The mining town which has been reduced to a poor town can’t wait to finally put PF KU WIRE on 12th August this year.

Graduates in the streets of Kitwe without Jobs can’t wait to Put PF KU WIRE so that President Hakainde Hichilema can bring the economic environment that will create Jobs and business opportunities in the District.

Marketeers who are having low sales due to low purchasing power in the once vibrant mining town can’t wait to put PF KU WIRE so that they can have an economic environment that will restore the high purchasing power from which they will get back to high daily sales.

Farmers in the rural wards of Kitwe whose farm inputs are poorly distributed and at times not even distributed to them are even more happy that they have a chance to put PF KU WIRE this August.

These Farmers also are faced with bad roads to transport their farm produce. They also can’t wait to put PF KU WIRE so that their fellow Farmer President Hakainde Hichilema can come and fix these problems.

Miners who have been reduced to ECL Mealie Meal beggers and those Miners who have lost their Jobs due to poor mining policies and political interference in the mines can’t wait to put PF KU WIRE in Kitwe.

Business Men and Women in Kitwe also are saying their business opportunities have been taken away by PF Cadres and largely by poor business policies under PF.

Business People say the US Dollar, a major vehicle currency has continued to reduce their capital on a daily basis as PF does not know how to deal with the daily weakening local currency as a result business projections are always coming out negative thereby affecting strategic goals.

The business environment currently has no regular clients as everyone is struggling thereby leaving the business to chance deals and sales which is not good in business focusing. This has led Business Men and Women in Kitwe to hire the services of President Hakainde Hichilema their fellow Business Man who understands business needs and the UPND on August 12 as they put PF KU WIRE.

Even rigging will not work for PF in Kitwe as the Elvis Nkandu message of Change for a better Zambia under President Hakainde Hichilema has been embraced by everyone in Kitwe. PF has been trying to buy support in the District but not even their money is working for them.

Come 12th August 2021 PF NI KU WIRE.

Lusaka Man Suffers Broken Arm After He Was Caught With Someone’s Wife!

LUSAKA MAN SUFFERS BROKEN ARM AFTER HE WAS CAUGHT WITH SOMEONE’S WIFE!

SOMEONE’S WIFE IS A SNARE

By Alfred A FL Nyambe

Yesterday a certain man was almost beaten to death in Lusaka’s Kanyama Compound.

He found pleasure in conning someone’s wife by enticing her with K500.
The lady is very beautiful, average tall with long dark natural hair; wide hips and a big behind. Her eyes like that of a calf from West coast of North America, watery and white like a goat milk. No wonder the man couldn’t control himself but went on to propose this charming damsel. He didn’t care about her marital status, after all, no one knew him in that area.

At first, he was afraid of approaching her but an inner boy influenced and controlled his reasoning and feelings. The lady also gave him an indicator of willingness, of course after seeing the cash.

The guy bent down, grabbed the damsel and she found herself on the floor of an uncompleted building. He found himself between the smooth thighs of the sweet Lusaka married lassie. His front tail began to investigate matters in the woman’s lunch bowl full of milk and honey. “This might be the much talked about promised land!”, he thought excitedly. Soon he was taken in the spiritual realm of earthly pleasures. He forgot that she was someone’s wife. He began to roll, turn, drill, till, plough, cultivate, turn over and harrow, pushing himself in and out, pounding and grinding, his eyes were rolling like an Indonesian gorilla stealing bananas and he became dizzy like he had taken kantobo. But as he was about to reach his climax in finding himself in the sanctuary of sweetness and comfortability, he heard something very thick, strong and powerful resting on his back producing a cracking sound, “Kwakaaa!”

It was the owner of the wife who hit him hard!.
“Iseni bonse kuno!”, he shouted.

We all ran to witness, only to find the man’s privati party gallivanting and we were able to see it. Unfortunately, it didn’t achieve its missionary purpose. It was intercepted by the owner of the kingdom.

I stood there and saw the mob rising like an army of Shaka Zulu. The adulterous fella attempted to escape like King Ahab escaping from the spear of the King of Assyria, but it was too late! He found himself on the ground as he was mercilessly hit, and before he realised it, his face became fat and his nationality immediately changed from Zambian to Chinese as his eyes became very small covered by a swelled up face. “He has met his match”, the onlookers shouted. His cloths were completely torn! The person who tore them, he knew him not.
They say when you die you go to heaven, though he didn’t die but he tested mini heaven, thanks to the Kanyama Clinic Doctors who resuscitated him. But his left arm got broken!
“He will appear in court soon!” Says the owner of the wife.

These are the consequences of sleeping with someone’s wife. Men be very careful, stop admiring and enticing other people’s wives. Be content with what you have. The Bible says, “So is he who sleeps with another man’s wife; no one who touches her will go unpunished,” Proverbs 6:29.

Stay away from other people’s wives. Blessed are You!

Mnangagwa ally who was arrested in DRC freed …. heads back to Harare

President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s top ally, Alexander Zingman, an alleged arms dealer whom the Zanu PF leader appointed Zimbabwe’s honorary consul to Belarus in 2019, has been freed from police detention in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) after he was arrested last week in connection with a private meeting he had with former President Joseph Kabila.

Upon arrival in Harare yesterday after being cleared of potential offences, Zingman said he had been in DRC on a legitimate business trip to generate trade in agricultural machinery and his arrest was a set-up to tarnish his image.

He was arrested together with Aftrade director Aleh Vodchyts and Italian businessman Paolo Persico after meeting Kabila in Lusaka, Zambia, before flying to Lubumbashi in South-Eastern.

The businessman, who has close links with Belarus strongman Alexander Lukashenko, has been actively involved in facilitating multi-million-dollar business deals between Zimbabwe and the Belarus government.

Zingman, who was cleared by DRC officials yesterday morning, had spent 12 days in detention. He said he had gone there for business and was still willing to go back to push his métier.

“I want to make it clear that I am a businessman who was arrested upon my arrival in DRC at Lubumbashi. I had gone for a business meeting with Mr Moise Katumbi. Mr Katumbi has an agriculture foundation. No other meeting was scheduled in DRC,’’ Zingman said in a statement.

“Mr Katumbi was also arrested with us and we spent the last 12 days in detention. All our cell phones were confiscated and lines of communication cut. We couldn’t even communicate with our families. It was a terrible experience.

“Our arrests were as a result of our enemies trying to victimise our business. However, we are happy that the DRC officials finally cleared us of any wrongdoing and we were released yesterday morning.

“I’m still willing to do business in DRC, like in any country, even though I have been a victim of misinformation by enemies,” Zingman added.

Zingman was arrested by Congolese police soon after meeting Kabila. However, he said the meeting was to do with agriculture.

“My technical team was working with his technical team on agriculture technical expertise. There was no other business discussed with Mr Kabila outside agriculture,” he said.

Some of the deals Zingman fronts for Mnangagwa include the acquisition of agricultural machinery and Zupco buses from the Eastern Europe country.

He has been photographed many times with Mnangagwa, who has previously used his private jet.

Millions Seized As Suspended Tanzania Ports Authority Boss Kakoko Arrested in Night Raid at his Home

Deusdedit Kakoko, the suspended Director-General of Tanzania Ports Authority (TPA), has been arrested, days after he was ejected over fraud links.

Tanzanian media reports indicate that Kakoko was taken into custody for grilling on Monday night following a raid at his home by detectives from the Prevention and Combating of Corruption Bureau (PCCB).

During the operation, the officials seized $1.5 million (Ksh164 million) at his home. The money was in a small bag.

The raid comes amid reports that billions of shillings were recently withdrawn from the Central Bank of Tanzania on orders from the fired TPA boss after the death of President John Pombe Magufuli.

The money, sources say, was transferred to a personal account at National Microfinance Bank (NMB).

The money which included $11,799,357.91 and TSh6.3 billion, was transferred to NMB four days after the death of Magufuli which according to authorities occurred on March 17.

It’s reported that a total of Ksh2 billion was transferred from the Central Bank of Tanzania after Magufuli died on orders of Kakoko.

The money was later taken back to the Central Bank of Tanzania after details of the transfer leaked with the country’s new President Samia Suluhu said to have issued the orders.

“When the money was being transferred President Suluhu was busy with Magufuli burial plans. She later got wind of the fraud and ordered the money be taken back immediately,” a source told a local media.

It’s the alleged plot to steal the money from public coffers that is said to have pushed President Suluhu to fire the TPA boss on Sunday after the agency was adversely mentioned in a report compiled by the Controller and Auditor General (CAG).

While dismissing Kakoko, the Head of State noted that she had seen massive embezzlement at TPA and ordered the anti-graft body to urgently look into the matter.

The President said an earlier probe initiated by Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa had only led to the dismissal of junior staffers at TPA.

“But from the report that you submitted to me yesterday, at least Sh3.6 billion had been embezzled at TPA…..When the Prime Minister conducted a probe, we only managed to fire junior staff. I now order the suspension of TPA Director General to pave way for investigations into the embezzlement,” she said.

The TPA boss, however, continues to deny a plot to steal the billions saying the funds had been approved for recurrent expenditure for the month of March.

But evidence proves otherwise as the authority’s monthly expenditure has never exceeded TSh5 billion.

TPA officials claim that part of the money was meant to pay a contractor who is handling one of the authority’s projects but the rushed payment is the one that has raised questions, putting the TPA boss on the spot.

Magufuli was laid to rest at his Chato hometown last Friday.

UPND SG IMENDA BRINGS KAOMA TO A STANDSTILL

KAOMA town came to a standstill today as United Party for National Development Secretary General Batuke Imenda passed through the Central Business District.

And UPND has called on all party members and sympathisers to go out and encourage every Zambian to be part of the wind of change that is blowing in the country.

Hundreds of people came out to have a glimpse of Mr Imenda who was appointed as the party’s Secretary General a fortnight ago.

It took about an hour for Mr Imenda’s convoy to cover a distance of about 2 kilometers as residents ran with the vehicles to the party’s constituency office.

Mr Imenda was forced to address the masses of at the party Secretariat there was no permit to sanction the meeting from the police.

Meanwhile Mr Imenda says it is the responsibility of every peace loving and democratic Zambian to mobilize neighbours, family and friends in voting the party into government.

Mr Imenda, who is in Western Province to meet with grassroots leaders, said it was time for Zambians to give President Hakainde Hichilema and the UPND and opportunity to change the economy which was in the doldrums following years of mismanagement by the PF.

And Vice Chairman for Elections Brian Ndumba urged party members to verify their votes during the on-going voter registration exercise.

Mr Ndumba said party members have the responsibility to protect their vote and must therefore register, vote and wait for vote counting to be done.

And National Trustee Ms Patricia Nawa urged the youths and women to turn out in large numbers to vote for the change of government.

Ms Nawa observed that the majority of women have suffered at the hands of the current government due to the bad management of the economy adding that they should vote them out if their sufferings are to be alleviated.

National Youth Deputy Chairman Stephen Chikota called for youths to come together to ensure there was an election Tsunami come August 12th.

Mr Chikota appealed to all party members to be united if the party has to see victory in this years elections.

PF CANNOT WIN A FREE AND FAIR ELECTION – Economists Intelligence Unit

0

PF CANNOT WIN A FREE AND FAIR ELECTION – EIU.

Over the past few days, the digital space has been awash with tonnes of misinformation by a poorly read, poorly informed Patriotic Front (PF) media team; purporting that the latest country report by the Economists Intelligence Unit (EIU) has declared the PF and President Edgar Lungu likely victors in the August 12 General Election.

Let me state from the onset, that the purported election victory by the PF is CONDITIONAL on a set of diabolical set of circumstances falling into place, circumstances which in effect would constitute an assault on Zambia’s democracy by the PF and its leadership, effectively rendering the results of the August polls a mockery to our collective intelligence.

Here is a list of critical insights contained in the March 30 2021 report by the EIU, insights conveniently and foolishly overlooked by the regime to claim that election victory is guaranteed in their favour when Zambians head to the polls this August.

INSIGHT #1

Under the PF regime, Zambia’s democracy index is down from 5.09 to 4.86, designated from flawed democracy to hybrid regime. This means that we are no longer a recognized democracy, but a cross between a democracy and an authoritarian regime, like Benin, Uganda, Thailand.

A further downgrade of Zambia’s democracy rating is expected should President Lungu succeed in clinging on to power.

INSIGHT #2

President incumbent of the PF is designated as an authoritarian leader in the report.

I do not need to explain what this means.

INSIGHT #3

The policy focus of the PF regime to hinge on short-term, populist features to endear the masses into keeping the regime in power. This is why we have seen and overflow of money in empowerment, social cash transfer and FISP.

All this careless splashing of cash will soon be back to bite all of us.

INSIGHT #4

The report proposes or points to a possible Chinese takeover of state assets as part of a possible Chinese debt restructuring program – this could further escalate anti – Chinese sentiments in our country.

We have always warned about the lack of transparency around the quantum and conditions around Chinese debt. We think that it is this lack of detail and transparency from the regime that is escalating fears.

INSIGHT #5

Zambians must be braced for a painful austerity ahead. This could and usually means cuts may be made to critical public services – no proper funding for healthcare, education, while salaries for civil servants may be expected to become more erratic.

Already, many council workers go for several months without being laid salaries, while the widespread degeneration in critical public services was witnessed in the dying years of the UNIP regime.

INSIGHT #6

Zambia has now been cut off from external funds thanks to poor infrastructure program implementation by the PF.

We always warned that the cost of infrastructure was unsustainable, especially that this was funded by very expensive debt money.

Zambia was officially cut off from external borrowing the moment we decided we will not make Eurobond coupon payments because the PF wanted to focus on splashing money.

INSIGHT #7

Decision to abolish 2005 voters’ register seen to likely lead to the registration of more voters in ruling party strongholds than opposition ones.

We all saw what happened during the exercise to issue NRCs and voters cards, and there are numbers to back up our initial fears.

INSIGHT #8

Zambia’s functioning of governments score at 2.93, reflecting PF corruption and mismanagement of the economy and public finances, including weakening of independence of BOZ by abrupt changes in governors.

This killed confidence in the Central Bank’s ability to steer an objective monetary policy. Bad for business.

INSIGHT #9

The EIU projects that the election will neither be free nor fair as PF will be forced to rely more on Zambia’s partisan security forces to aggressively narrow the political space for the opposition.

We have seen an increasing appetite by the police to use a heavy hand when dealing with opposition political parties- arbitrary arrests, detentions and citizens being killed by police bullets.

Now, ALL this is contained in the same EIU Report the PF are using to claim victory come August.

The report is a public document and I urge people to read it and understand full well the path to nowhere the PF have set us onto.

Good days are just five months from now, says HH

0

UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema says Zambians should just be patient because good days are just five months away.

And HH says his government will not ban export of crops such as maize.

Responding to callers when he featured on Breeze FM’s political hour on Tuesday night via phone from Lusaka, Hichilema said his government will find something for all Zambians that were employable.

“Our job will be to ensure all of you who are employable, will find you something. If not as I said earlier, we will give you business support – credit at lower interest rate so that you can start business. We care for the youth, we love you,” he said. “So that lady from Kasenengwa (a caller) my heart bleeds for you. Just be patient, good days are just five months only from now.”

Hichilema said his government would employ over 73,000 unemployed teachers.

“Let me just use this opportunity to say, we will ensure that, and I announce here on Breeze FM that after 12 August we will employ all of those over 73,000 unemployed teachers. We will post them to schools, over 5,100 doctors will be posted to hospitals, 15,000 plus nurses employed. We will come in in August, by September you will start receiving your postings and immediately you will be put on payroll,” he said.

Hichilema said employment will be a priority for the UPND as it takes office.

“I also want to indicate that local government workers, council workers, we hear you. We are with you. We want to make sure that you manage even burial sites. Look at Chipata there, burial sites are full. We will make sure that the councils are able to receive through creation of the allocation of land working with traditional leaders for burial sites and you manage burial sites properly,” he said.

Hichilema said when the UPND come in contracts would not only be given to party cadres.

“When we come in in August all roads will be done at a right price, no corruption. Very good quality roads at a lower cost. Let me give you an example, boreholes today in Eastern Province there, a government borehole you sink it at K55,000. We will bring the price of a borehole to K15,000, meaning one borehole now through corruption is sunk at that price we will be able to deliver three boreholes with change,” he said.

Hichilema said the UPND will work on the Chipata/Lundazi road properly because it was being done at a poor quality.

“We will give Zambians that are competent contracts. We are going to work on the Chipata/Msoro road. Unfinished and bad roads will not allow ourselves. If you look at the Chipata/Lundazi road every rain season bridges are going there because of poor quality but yet the price is higher because of corruption with zero tolerance to corruption there will be nothing like that, kuvutisa bathu, kuchoka ku Chipata ati uyende ku Chama ninkhondo iyo(troubling people, from Chipata going to Chama its trouble),” he said.

Hichilema said the issue of bad roads would be over very soon when people vote for UPND.

He said his government would ensure it works on Kalindawalo road, Kapata/Walela and Chizongwe road and Chipata/Vubwi roads.

Hichilema said the Chipata/Vubwi road was like it was in a war-torn country.

He said the UPND government would also give priority to the Chipata/Chadiza road because it was an agricultural area.

Hichilema the UPND would attend to the issue of sanitation.

“Under UPND, we will never allow poor sanitation and garbage disposal. For example, the garbage dumpsite for Chipata is east of Apollo dam which is up stream of the main dam supplying drinking water for the town of Chipata. The dumpsite is less than a kilometre from Lutembwe river on which the dam is built – the dumpsite is there. Garbage and the dirt drain into Lutembwe and three kilometres down the stream is Apollo dam, what is that?” he asked.

Hichilema said his government would relocate the Chipata dumpsite.

He said his government would ensure retirees are paid on time.

Hichilema also said the UPND government would add value to the crops that are grown in Eastern Province and other parts of the country.

“For maize, we are going to ensure that Zambians produce more maize and will make sure that we mill the maize there to create jobs. We are going to protect the farmers. As UPND, we are not going to ban exports but encourage farmers to produce enough crops,” he said.

Hichilema said the UPND government would not have selective approach to empowerment.

Naming President Lungu Jonathan Mutaware is bringing his name into ridicule, cop tells court

0

By Mwaka Ndawa

A POLICE OFFICER has told the Lusaka Magistrates’ Court that President Edgar Lungu’s parentage is not known as he did not thoroughly investigate the head of state’s origin.

Edward Mambwe, a detective Inspector based at force headquarters, said Jonathan Mutaware does not exist and naming President Edgar Lungu, Jonathan Mutaware is bringing his name into ridicule.

This is in a matter where New Labour Party leader Fresher Siwale is facing a charge of defamation of the President for alleging that President Lungu is an identity fraud.

When the matter came up for continued cross-examination before magistrate Alice Walusiku, Mambwe told the court that the parentage of the head of state is not known.

When asked by Siwale’s defence lawyer Keith Mweemba and Gilbert Phiri about the particulars of President Lungu’s parents, Mambwe said he did not know.

Asked if he investigated the the origin of the head of state, Mambwe confirmed but denied investigating that of his parents.

The witness was asked if he knows the names on President Lungu’s passport, marriage certificate and his children’s birth certificates but he responded in the negative.

When asked if he had a look at the government gazette when President Lungu changed his nam,e Mambwe said Jonathan Mutaware does not exist.

At the last sitting, Mambwe told the court that an identity thief was a person who has stolen an identity or changed a name but said it was not wrong for the Head of State to change his name.

He claimed that President Lungu started using his name in 1986 and he saw a deed poll for the change of name at government printers but he (Mambwe) doesn’t know if the head of state signed the deed pall.

Asked if he conducted a survey to know how many people held the President in low esteem because of the alleged statement by Siwale, Mambwe denied.

The arresting officer alleged that Dama Banda, a former headteacher at Buntungwa Basic School in Kitwe, had told the court that he held the President in low esteem as a result of Siwale’s statement.

“Among the witnesses, some felt bad that the President’s name was brought into ridicule,” Mambwe claimed.

Asked if he knew whether the President was the right person to say that he is not Jonathan Mutaware and that he does not have three NRCs, Mambwe said he would not know, neither does he know that immunity is not absolute.

“Mr Swale insulted the President, calling someone a thief is an insult,” said Mambwe.

He further confirmed that Siwale alleged that President Lungu is an identity thief and not a thief.

Magistrate Walusiku set June 10 for ruling on whether or not Siwale has a case to answer, following the closure of the case by the state

PF is made up of incompetent people that were in group C in class – Sean Tembo

0

THE continued attempt by government to get an IMF bailout loan when copper price is at an all time high of US$9,000 per metric tonne is evidence that the PF have failed to run the country and need to be retired on August 12, 2021, says Sean Tembo.

In a statement, Tembo said it must be noted that IMF bailout loans were meant for countries that have no resources and were on the brink of total economic collapse.

Tembo, the opposition Patriots for Economic Progress (PeP) leader, said Zambia had abundant resources and world economic parameters were in its favour due to the advent of electric vehicles which had caused a major surge in the price of copper, which was a major component in their manufacture and was the country’s major export commodity.

“Given the circumstances at hand, our expectations as Patriots for Economic Progress were that the government would be talking about how best the country should utilise the surge in copper prices for our economic prosperity and not talking about getting an IMF bailout loan. The fact that the PF and its government see borrowing as a solution to every national economic problem renders credence to our long held position that the Patriotic Front is a party that is made up of incompetent people that were in group C in class,” Tembo said.

He further said any reasonable Zambian should not expect improvement in the manner the PF government would run the affairs of the nation they be naive enough to re-elect them back into office.

Tembo appealed to the Zambian people to vote into office a political party that would competently and diligently run the affairs of the country and which would be able to convert the huge economic potential that Zambia has into actual wealth for the benefit of Zambians.

He said that political party was the Patriots for Economic Progress.

The PeP leader added that the only thing that the PF and its government were capable of doing was contracting more and more national debt, despite the country having defaulted on its debt repayment.

“Come 12th August, if Zambians insist on re-electing this collection of group C individuals when group A is available, the end result will be continued shrinkage of the economy, unemployment, poverty, squalor and corruption. Zambians have a very important decision to make on 12th August this year. We have already seen what group C is able to do. It is now time to try group A,” said Tembo.

We anticipate more defections from UPND ahead of the August 12 polls- Andrew Ntewewe

0

Young African Leadership Initiative (YALI) has anticipated more defections from the United Party for National Development (UPND) ahead of the August 12 polls.

YALI president Andrew Ntewewe said in an interview yesterday that leaving UPND because of its dictatorial style of leadership and tribalism. This comes following the defection of the former UPND member Mr. Charles Kakoma who served as the party spokesperson for 14 years.

And Mr Ntewewe said the resignation of Mr Kakoma opens more wounds to Zambians.

“The resignation of their former spokesperson opens another wound in the eyes of the Zambian people. It opens another wound in a sense that this political party which is supposed to be an alternative to government is unable to offer credible checks and balances because of lack of its clear principles and values,” he said.

“Everyone who has left UPND has talked this issue of lack of intraparty democracy. Where everything revolves around one person. And that is HH. Where anything in this party can only go if it goes through the Alpha and Omega of the party who is HH. To us, that leaves too much to be desired. Talk about GBM, talk about Kakoma, you talk about Saboi Imboela, you talk about so many other who have left. All of them have one significant story; one, UPND is a tribal political party, it promotes regionalism, number two, UPND is a dictatorial political party, its decisions revolve around one individual.”

Mr Ntewewe also stated that there have been more divisions in the opposition party from the time it held its general Assembly which we slammed for not meeting the benchmarks of a democratic election.

He noted that the opposition party is structured in a way that everything revolves around the party’s “life president,” Mr Hakainde Hichilema.

The Initiative’s president said “We are very certain as the Young African Leadership Initiative that the resignation of Kakoma is not the last one. We are going to see so many more resigning from the UPND so that HH will remain alone. Because ultimately, in modern-day leadership, you cannot revolve all the powers around one individual.”

“If you look at how UPND has been structured, its campaign messages and everything else revolves around one man. Now that is not how you do modern-day politics. That is not what servanthood leadership is about. Servanthood leadership is about getting the collective wisdom of a collective group of individuals, of a collective group of citizens, who are able to provide effective leadership. Unfortunately, what UPND offers is only one person. What UPND offers is only Bally and that, unfortunately, is not servanthood leadership.”

WE SHALL MEET KAMBWILI IN COPPERBELT DURING CAMPAIGNS, says SICHULA

WE SHALL MEET KAMBWILI IN COPPERBELT DURING CAMPAIGNS – says SICHULA

Copperbelt Chingola 01:04:2021

Following the announcement of the former National Democratic Congress (NDC) party leader Chishimba Kambwili yesterday on ZNBC that his ready to work with President Edgar Chagwa Lungu, I have been vindicated said NDC Copperbelt boss, George Sichula.

You can all agree with me that no long ago I hinted that Kambwili was headed to PF following his public apology on his defamatory remarks he issued towards ECL, people called me all sorts of names especially his close allies and himself Kambwili refused that he had no intention of working with the PF, but today what has changed??? Ala bane insoni ebuntu.

The youths on the Copperbelt are ready to campaign for President Hakahinde Hichilema as the campaign kick starts for the general elections scheduled for August 12,2021, but they would like to see how Kambwili will Campaign for a Presidential candidate he previously called all sorts of names.

Sichula further said, I don’t think Zambians will ever take this man serious and for the copperbelt, let Kambwili campaign from the choppers, otherwise youths on the Copperbelt are not ready to listen to his pathological lies, the man has been telling the youth for the past three years that he means well and he will work with opposition alliance to remove the PF, but because of circumstances we all know he has decided to dump all his followers and join his pay masters.

I would like to warn the PF to brace for Kambwili’s confusion, to start with, has already brought confusion in Roan Constituency where he wants his son Mwamba Kambwili to stand on PF ticket and yet PF wants Nathan Chanda the PF copperbelt Provincial Chairperson and secondly, the PF convention where we hear that Kambwili wants to challenge ECL.

We all know that Kambwili’s apology is based on his personal glory, he has so many court cases and in his mind he thinks the President will interfere with the courts, knowing the Republican President is a lawyer himself and he does not entertain any law breakers, let’s wait and see what happens on 16th April, 2021.

Lastly, I would like to take this opportunity to assure all those whom Kambwili mislead including aspiring candidates, that it’s never too late, you are all welcome on board to the NDC lead Akafumba and support it. Last night I received a lot of calls from people who have been in Kambwili’s camp on how dissapointed they are including his own bodyguard, they all are saying his going alone to PF. Sichula said

HH should blame Himself Over low Voter Registration Turnout in His Strongholds – Marvin Chanda Mberi

0

By Marvin Chanda Mberi

The season of finding all possible excuses to validate the claim of alleged rigging is now in our midst. It is the anthem that we are used to and it has become synonymous every electoral year.

United Party for National Development (UPND) leader Hakainde Hichilema has written an expansive yet substantively void of merit letter to the African Union (AU) and the Southern African Development Community (SADC) to pen his lamentations against the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ).

We too would like to pen our observations after intently perusing through the correspondence addressed to the two continental bodies. Firstly, Mr Hichilema faults the new voter’s register and links it to his alleged manipulation of the process.

Here Mr Hichilema willfully neglected to bring to the attention to the two regional bodies that the new voter’s register was as a result of audit anomaly regarding the ghost voters as per the voter’s register of 2016.

Clearly the 2016 voter’s register was virtually a “dead document” which was filed with bloated list of registered voters.

Mr Hichilema did not appreciate that the voter’s role with ghost voters was vulnerable and susceptible to manipulation thus undermined prospects of the free and fair elections.
Contrary to what was alleged by Mr Hichilema, the voter registration process was conducted in a very fair and transparent manner and all stakeholders were given an equal opportunity to offer their participation and lend their expertise to this important part of the democratic process.

We recall how the UPND and its allies deadly and stanchly criticized every move that ECZ made without proposing any viable alternative. We wonder why HH can write to African Union (AU) and Southern African Development Community (SADC) alleging inadequacies yet his letter makes no mention to specific breaches of instruments such as the African Charter on Democracy, Elections and Governance (ACDEG), the Zambian Constitution, the electoral legislation among others.

This clearly gives us an irresistible conclusion that Mr Hichilema is only entrapping the international actors to notice him and make headlines for wrong reasons.

As regards Mr Hichilema’s lamentations that the new voter’s register has reduced numbers in the UPND strongholds while recording marginal increase in PF strongholds, HH has clearly missed the causal link between the two.

Mr Hichilema has ignored to tell the AU and SADC that the reduction in UPND strongholds was a result of contributory negligence by the UPND to mobilize their supporters to the nearest voter registration centers.

We do recall that while PF was mobilizing its supporters to registration centers using all possible means, the UPND did not take interest but opted to waste their time by gallivanting from one social media page to the other discrediting the process and incite public discontent against ECZ.

And all things being equal, the long adage which goes, “you reap what you sow” always comes to fruition.

The PF which invested it’s time to mobilize numbers in the strongholds has yielded marginal increase while the other camp has yielded a reduction.

It is also laughable that HH can approach AU and EU not to legitimatize the outcome of the August poll when the mandate of declaring a victor solely lies within the ambit of ECZ.

We urge Mr Hichilema to have confidence in the internal institutions as they are competent to address his grievances than maliciously undermining the integrity of Zambia’s democracy before regional bodies.

HOW DOES A PROPHET WHO HEALS THE SICK AND RAISES THE DEAD LOSE HIS OWN DAUGHTER?

By Kellys Kaunda

Find below a quote from a Facebook post of a friend of mine, Mthoniswa Banda. It might sound cruel to ask someone who has just lost a child the questions he asks but they are perfectly legitimate questions that we Christians are divinely mandated to answer all the time.

“The Bushiris are prophets of nature. They preach the good news of nature, make people believe in this nature.
Above all they heal the sick, raise the dead, walk on air under the very powers of nature.
The Bushiris are the ambassadors of nature. They are representatives, the chi -alpha of this nature.
So how can the very nature they serve under, heal for, lead people to, fail to heal their sick daughter? Mthoniswa Banda.

MY RESPONSE

To you all Christians, never look for answers regarding God outside the Bible. There is no other source with answers to such important questions of life such as: how did we as human beings come into existence? Why are we here? Who or what brought us here? How did planet earth come about? Why do we suffer, fall sick and die? Who is God? How did he come about? What does he want of us? Where are we going from here? All these questions and many other life’s mega questions have been provided for in the Bible.

For starters, do not labor to prove the existence of God, the Bible never does that. From the very first chapter of Genesis, the Bible only assumes his existence hence the narrative that goes straight to telling us the creation story. The Bible answers the question of how we came into existence because God created us. We die because we disobeyed him. He will claim us back into a trusting relationship if we accept him as our personal savior whether we die or not.

As a result of the disobedience of the first human pair, every human offspring and the planet earth that supports life suffers till, in his own appointed time, God brings this episode of suffering to an end and returns planet earth to his original plan. Before then, every human being – prophet or no prophet will at some point in their life suffer and die. They may have enjoyed some privileges to heal and raise the dead, but they too will one day suffer what everyone suffers from.

This is why every prophet we read about in the Bible and every disciple we read about is dead until God raises them from the dead as the Bible states. All these answers are all written in the Bible. One word of caution is this: when you approach the Bible with external methodologies for study, it will not make any sense to you. This is why there are so many critics and criticisms labeled against this Book. But should you allow the Bible to give you its own method of scrutiny, you will encounter unity of topics and themes running like a thread from Genesis to Revelation.

Sola Scriptura – scripture upon scripture is the way to allow the Bible to make sense.

*NEW UPND SG IMENDA MAKES GRAND ENTRY INTO WESTERN PROVINCE*
The usually sleepy-little farming district of Nkeyema this afternoon came arrive as the newly appointed United Party for National Development Secretary General Batuke Imenda made a grand entry into his home Province.

And Mr Imenda has thanked the people of Nkeyema for registering as votere in large numbers and has since urged them to go out and vote for the party in August.

Pomp and splendor characterised the atmosphere as hundreds of residents gathered at Tateyoyo gate to welcome the Secretary General.
Women, children and men lined the road while rising their open palms showing the symbol of the party.

It was a homecoming which overflowed with jubilation as Mr Imenda was driven through the municipality with literally the entire district lining the only main road.
Mr Imenda hails from Lukulu in Western Province were he was member of Parliament from 2001 to 2011.

He reminded the people of Nkeyema of the suffering they have been subjected to under the outgoing Patriotic Front government saying all major infrastructure development projects that were at 80 percent completion point have been abandoned since 2011 when the PF came into office.

Meanwhile Mr Imenda has applauded Nkeyema for the large turn out having recorded the highest numbers in voter registration in Western Province.

The Party Secretary General condemned the poor state of the Lusaka- Mongu road, adding that it’s state had led to low income activity.

“Do you see the poor state of the road? Are you happy? You are failing to sell your produce because no business entity would risk commuting on such a road,” Mr Imenda lamented.
The Party Secretary General was speaking at TBZ and and later at Munkuye were scores of residents thronged his vehicle amid chants of wanting change.

He pledged that once in office, UPND will set up a tobacco factory that employ the youths.
And National Youth Chairman Gilbert Liswaniso has urged the youths to be fearless and face this years election head on.

Mr Liswaniso noted that youths have left with no jobs and are reduced to beggars because of the bad management of the economy by the PF government.

ZAMBIANS MUST KEEP AWAY FROM PF; THE LAST KICKS COULD BE FATAL – Percy Chanda

PRESS STATEMENT

1ST APRIL 2021

ZAMBIANS MUST KEEP AWAY FROM PF; THE LAST KICKS COULD BE FATAL

We appeal to the outgoing PF leadership to respect the will of the people on 12th August. The MMD Government in 2011 graciously conceded defeat without spilling any innocent blood. But looking at the desperation being exhibited by PF it’s unlikely that they will concede defeat and hand over the instruments of power peacefully to HH. Zambians have the right to choose leaders of their choice without any intimidations. Zambians have already settled for HH as their next President. PF, the Police and ECZ must commit themselves to a peaceful change of power.

The biggest mistake PF is making is counting the number bicycles, goats, chickens, money and mealie meal they are dishing out as their potential votes. This reckless behavior will make it very difficult for PF to accept defeat. There is life outside Government; after all most of you came into Government from a very humble background. In the interest of peace avoid the Bemba saying of FULWE PAKUFWA EPO APASA UMULILO.

The Electoral Commission of Zambia must ensure that there is peace before, during and after elections. However ECZ in its current form has failed to win the confidence of Zambians. ECZ must conduct itself above partisan politics otherwise any violence during the August elections will be blamed on them. PF has been campaigning openly and corrupting people while ECZ has approved these electoral malpractices. ECZ must understand that the standards of holding a by election is different from that of a general election. Zambians have made up their minds; PF is going. Come what may, HH is the next President. Therefore, ECZ must approach the August election with a very sober mind to ensure peaceful transition.

Our Zambia Police is a disaster and we don’t understand why DMMU can’t declare this institution a national disaster. Zambia Police has contributed greatly to the volatile situation obtaining in the Country because of selective justice. Our Police Officers should take a leaf from what happened to their friends who took instructions from politicians in the case of the late prosecutor and UPND member. Please stick to your professional conduct and ethics. Your job is to maintain law and order and not boot licking. Stop being used as catalysts of violence.

Lusaka robbers go viral after failed Ndola job

Lusaka robbers go viral after failed Ndola job
A THIEVING group of Lusaka’s Matero Compound including woman have gone viral on social media after being arrested by Police in a failed robbery on the Copperbelt.

The gang staged a money heist in the city of Ndola which was foiled by the gateaway driver’s inability to steer a basic Toyota Allion with a mere 1.4cc engine on a wide two lane asphalt road.

In a brazen coordinated attack ripped straight from the middle page of a best-selling crime thriller, the robbers driving a grey Toyota Allion shadowed a black Toyota Hilux which was being driven by 34-year old Francis Kunda who had just withdrawn K132,048 from FNB Bank in the Central Business District.
Noticing the robbers in close pursuit, Kunda panicked and thought his feet were faster than the Toyota Hilux.

Kunda jumped out of his vehicle and ran to hide among peasant farmers with hope that they might rescue him but even they ran away from him as his terrified screaming face scared them too.

With Kunda out the vehicle, one of the criminals touting a small Calibre pistol came out of their vehicle and like picking eggs in a chicken run got the bag containing the money, joined his lot and together they sped off.

Robbers safely out of sight, Kunda gathered some courage and mobilised an army of the willing to give chase to the robbers who were now heading towards Lusaka with the bounty safely in their custody.

However, upon looking in their rearview mirror, the criminals realised that they had someone on their tail and attempted to cruise faster than the skill of the driver.
With one false move from the driver, the car came to a screeching halt under the trailer of heavy duty truck.

Shell shocked, one criminal who surely was a sports prefect in his High School days bolted from the scene never to be seen again.
The remaining three were ordered at gunpoint by police who had now arrived to lay on the ground and complied.

However, a chubby lady with calm looks of an SDA Dorcas Mother remained sitted in the car like she was waiting for holy communion.
For her indiscretion, she was slapped out of the wrecked car and also made to pile her flobby mass on the dust.

Police spokesperson Esther Mwaata Katongo has confirmed that those arrested for aggravated robbery whose minimum sentence is 15 years in jail are Charles Lunga, Norman Nguni, Owen Msimanga and off course Ethel Lyambai, all Matero and Chunga Compounds in Lusaka.
The bag containing the money was also safely recovered.

The incident is likely to mark a rare record in Zambia’s criminal justice system as for the first time in a long time, none of the criminals received a bullet in their thieving bodies from the gun-happy C5 Elite Anti-Robbery Squad.

Xavier Chungu sues state, demands $500,000 for illegal detention

0

FORMER Zambia Security Intelligence Services (ZSIS) director general Xavier Chungu has sued the state in the Lusaka High Court demanding payment of US $500,000 as compensation for his illegal detention.

Chungu wants an order that the state pays him $150,000 seized from his account at Access Financial Services and an order for the payment of $37,050 for lost rentals.

The former director general of the Office of the President (special division) under the leadership of Zambia’s second president late Frederick Chiluba, was facing several charges of theft of public funds and assets and abuse of authority among other charges before the Lusaka Magistrates’ Court in 2002.

In other charges, Chungu was jointly charged with Chiluba for theft of public funds. He was also convicted for nine months for forgery and uttering a false document.

In his statement of claim, Chungu said on January 7, 2002 and various other dates between 2002 and August 15, 2009 he was put under house arrest and also remanded in prison for a cumulative period of 34 months on allegations of theft of unspecified motor vehicles and theft by public servant.

He said each time he was detained by the Taskforce on Corruption and the case was taken to court, the state would enter a nolle prosequi and the process of arrest, charge would start afresh.

Chungu contended that he kept appearing for mention only without taking plea for three years.

The said despite him not being prosecuted successfully or at all earnest the state seized his property by way of forfeiture and forfeited his houses F/488a/27/D/2 Leopards Hill Lusaka, F/377a/1/E/1 Kabulonga road Lusaka, F/488a/8/B/2 White Woodlane, Kabulonga, LUS/208/M, lot 10752/M and LUS/20863.

Chungu said the state also seized his account at Access Financial Services Limited which had a cash balance of $150,000 which was money raised from rentals at house No.488a/8/B/2 white Woodlane, Kabulonga.

“At the time of forfeiture of the said house there was 13 months remaining on the lease period at the monthly rental of US $2,850, bringing the total of the lost rentals to US $37,050,” Chungu said.

He lamented that as a result of the state’s actions he suffered loss and damage.

Chungu said he was denied freedom for a cumulative period of 34 months, his right to property was violated by way of forfeiture without due process, loss of mesne profits and that he suffered stress and mental torture.

He said as a result of the loss and damage occasioned to him he is seeking a declaration that his detention without trial was illegal and so was the forfeiture of his properties.

Chungu wants an order that he was the rightful owner of the properties.

He is further seeking interest on all sums payable at Bank of Zambia lending rate from August 2009 to date of full and final settlement, any other reliefs the court may deem fit and costs of the action.
