300 POLICE OFFICERS HIRED TO OFFER SECURITY DURING MISS MY HOME TOWN BEAUTY PAGEANT

By Kelvin Muzelenga

The Southern Division Police Command has booked three hundred police officers to offer security in Choma town ahead of the Miss My Home Town Beauty Pageant slated for 2nd July, 2022.

Byta FM Journalist reports that Southern Province Acting Commissioner of Police, Alfred Nawa, explains that the Division asked for support from the Head Office for additional officers.

Nawa says that this is because over three thousand people are expected to be in Choma for the event and elements of criminality may be on the rise.

He has since warned that those with intentions of causing chaos in the Southern Provincial Capital will be ably dealt with.

Nawa said this on Saturday during the arrival of African Union Holdings Group of Companies Chairman, James Ndambo at St Mawagali in Choma.

Nawa also extended his appeal to those who drink alcohol not to get too drunk as to cause confusion, noting that Police will sober up anyone who will come with negative intentions during the Beauty Pageant.
