5 YEAR OLD BOY DIES AFTER BEING GIVEN “KACHASU’ BY HIS FATHER

A 5 year old boy of Kabundi Village in Chief Chiwala’s area has died after being administered with an illicit locally brewed beer commonly known as Kachasu by his father.
Copperbelt Police Commanding Officer Peacewell Mweemba says police received a report on Saturday, 11th March 2023 from Delia Ndimani, who is the boy’s mother that her son, Aaron Chisenga has died after he was administered beer by her biological father Peter Chisenga, of Congolese origin.
Mr Mweemba explains that brief facts are that the mother to the deceased left home on Friday, 10th March 2023 in the evening for a charcoal business and left the children in the custody of their father.
He states that when she returned home in the early hours of Saturday around 0500hrs, she discovered that one of the children who is the deceased, was not in good condition and unable to talk and upon inquiring, the other children revealed that their father was drinking Kachasu around 0130hrs and that he shared some with the deceased who later became unwell.
Mr. Mweemba says the child was rushed to the nearby health facility and referred to Arthur Davison Children’s Hospital where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
He says police made a follow-up to the said abode, but found that the suspect had run away and is currently on the run.
