Neo Mahlangu, a missing 16-year-old boy from South Africa, was discovered buried in his aunt’s backyard three weeks after she reported him missing.

Neo was reported missing after paying a visit to his aunt, Andile Aalivirah, in Tsakane, Gauteng.

The mother is said to have battered the adolescent to death.

On Friday, April 1, his aunt, who had reported a missing person to the police station, was detained with her 14-year-old son.

The woman’s son is said to have helped his mother beat Neo to death and bury him in the backyard.

Police removed the remains from a big pit that the aunt allegedly hired workmen to dig under the guise of installing a water tank.

On Monday, April 4, the 36-year-old lady is scheduled to appear in Tsakane Magistrate’s Court on allegations of murder, perjury, and defeating the ends of justice.
