ACC EMBARRASED BY PF’S KEBBY MBEWE

AFTER wasting taxpayers’ money to travel from Lusaka to Choma to investigate properties belonging to Patriotic Front (PF) Member of the Central Committee (MCC) Kebby Mbewe which are suspected to be proceeds of crime, the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) yesterday drew a blank as he outsmarted them.

Mr. Mbewe treated ACC officers to a kindergarten fanfare as he produced unquestionable documentation detailing how he acquired all the properties in Choma by showing them records on how he acquired and serviced loans through Zanaco Bank in Choma for his businesses, some of which started years back.

One of the properties in question was Leon’s Lodge to which he provided details of how he started it using loans from the bank.

But when contacted for a comment, Mr. Mbewe expressed ignorance over his encounter with the ACC.

“I am not aware of anything like that. I just saw something on social media,” Mr. Mbewe said.

But impeccable sources close to the development said Mr. Mbewe did not just want his encounter with ACC officials to be in public domain.

“The questioning lasted for over two hours in Choma. The officers who questioned him were from Lusaka and I am very sure that had they found anything, ACC would have already issued a statement by now but because they drew a blank, they cannot.

“Mr. Mbewe is just trying to be a gentleman. He doesn’t want to seemingly embarrass the ACC officials but the truth is that they drew a blank on him yesterday. We have never given you information that turns out to be false,” the source said.
