HERE IS WHY I WOULD ADVISE AGAINST VOTING FOR THE PATRIOTIC FRONT.
Another 5 years of this gentleman and the PF regime will be brutal, punishing, challenging and unbearable.
The lack of credibility of his government means:
1. No IMF bailout.
2. Without an IMF bailout, this will mean no solution to the $23bn debt crisis. No one will negotiate with us without the support of the IMF.
3. Without a solution to the debt crisis, Zambia would most likely be cut off from all global financing platforms, a situation which would make it difficult for our country to mobilize mass capital for large scale development programs.
4. As corruption runs unhindered, both bilateral and multilateral support partners may lose confidence in the regime and might be moved to reducing or altogether terminating support for critical public sectors – health, education, agriculture, social protection and other economic programs.
5. We have already seen signs of fuel shortages as government has lost the ability to import fuel. This is likely to get worse as OMCs start making demands for a pump price hike owing to the escalating costs of landing the product, largely due to the collapsing Kwacha.
6. The government would most likely lose the ability to fund the public service – salaries for civil servants may become a challenge, no funding for CDF, no funding for councils and definitely NO funding for EMPOWERMENT 🤣😂
7. Funding for FISP and social cash transfer will disappear – most likely. This will destroy small scale agriculture and condemn the most vulnerable to death.
8. Kwacha projected to crush, inflation will spike, cost of living will be out of this world.
So, why take the risk guys?
Is it really worth it?
