EEP President Chilufya Tayali writes:

THIS STATEMENT IS VERY SERIOUS, ZCCB SHOULD CLEAR THE AIR

I have picked this from social media and I think it should not go without the response of the ZCCB

The statement is as below:

“ARCHBISHOP CHAMA AUTHORIZED EUCHARIST FOR M’MEMBE WHILE IN STATE DETENTION

The Zambia Council of Catholic Bishops (ZCCB) President Archibishop Ignatius Chama yesterday authorized and cleared a priest to take Eucharist to Fred M’membe who was detained by the State at Westwood Police post, a few kilometers away from Lusaka.

Meanwhile, yesterday, two Senior Chiefs from Luapula and Northern Provinces visited Dr. M’membe at the Police Station before he was released on bond.

However, the Catholic Bishops have since made arrangements to visit M’membe at his house but their agenda remains unknown. It is believed former President Edgar Lungu will also be in attendance.”

    • Which oppession ba tribalists? Not all voters are blinded by hate as you. Good luck with recruiting genuine people to your hate driven campaign.

      • Iwe chief tribalists, just enjoy your 5 minutes of fame. No one hates anyone. We just want him to do his job. Maybe you can draw him a graph so he knows what is expected in his role.

  1. This article is written by a non Catholic who does not know the functions and mission of the Catholic Church.
Ordination is the sacramental ceremony in which a man becomes a deacon or priest, enabled to minister in Christ’s name and that of the Church.
Therefore a Catholic priest does not need the permission from the bishop to take the body of Christ to a person in prison or cells. It is part of his work.
