BROTHER AMONG 3 ARRESTED FOR SH00TING MAN OVER ‘HEADMANSHIP’ WRANGLE
THREE people have been arrested in connection with the shooting of Speedwell Choongo who was shot dead while sleeping next to his wife in Namwala District.
Southern Province Police Commissioner Auxensio Daka says one of the arrested is the deceased’s brother who travelled from Lufwanyama to Namwala on a motorbike to ensure his brother was dead.
Daka explained to Byta FM News in an interview recently that the brothers in the family were fighting for the headmanship of their village which led to the assassination.
He adds that the brother, the hired killer and the supplier of the homemade firearm that was used to assassinate the deceased have been charged with murder and are in police custody.
Recently, Choongo was shot dead while sleeping in his unfinished house beside his wife, leaving his brains scattered on the floor.
