CHINGOLA POLICE DENY HH PERMIT FOR ROADSHOW AS HH VOWS TO GO AHEAD…

The Zambia Police Service, Chingola Command, has denied UPND Opposition Leader, Hakainde Hichilema, clearance to proceed with a Roadshow in Chigola Central citing Security risks.

The command indicated that the suggested 80 vehicles on the road show would disturb other road users and eventually pose a security risk.

“Kindly be informed that your political activity because of 80 vehicles to be on the convoy is likely to disturb other road users and consequently pose a security risks…” Read the notice in part.

“You are therefore advise to choose another date apart from 6th June, 2021 where you should indicate 6 motor vehicles to be in your convoy as you conduct your road show…” The notice continued.

However, Mr Hichilema has vowed to go ahead with the road show stating that the Police cannot be denying the Opposition everything from holding rallies to having roadshows as it defeated the entire purpose of campaigns. He further said that he has the right to go to any place as and when he wants to because he was a citizen of Zambia.

He said the police should channel the same force they will use to disrupt the roadshow to offering security instead. He wondered how they always have the manpower to disrupt, but never have the manpower to offer security196958905_1431525813852980_3125104848031488342_n
