CHISHALA KATEKA SPEAKS OUT: NEVER AGAIN MUST WE ALLOW DEAD BODIES TO BE PARADED IN OUR PROVINCES!!!

Oh Zambians, who has bewitched us?

Why oh why do we keep quiet when a wrong is being perpetrated against the whole nation?

When Levy Patrick Mwanawasa passed away in 2008, they took it upon themselves to cart the body around to all the provinces. 2021, KK passes away, they decide to do the same.

As Zambians, we need to ask ourselves some questions:

– Of what benefit and to whom, is this practice being perpetuated?
– Did our ancestors practice such?
– What is the spiritual significance of moving the body around the country?
– Since we are a Christian Nation, what is the biblical example of this practice?
– Are we honouring the body of the departed – he can not speak for himself. Is that something he would have wished for?

We also need to ask ourselves the question – why do we, the citizens quietly murmur when a wrong is being done? Why do we accept such when we know we should not?

I am of the view that we should have respected the remains of the former President KK and allowed him to Rest In Peace.

In addition to the above, the Government made an announcement to the effect that there should be no funeral gathering……so who is going to view the body?? Going to view the body is nothing more than morbid curiosity and a spreader of the pandemic.

Please our leaders, let us make decisions that benefit the people of this country. Look at how far (down) you have brought us!!!!

Never again must we allow this parading of late President’s bodies in our provinces. It is disrespectful to the departed, it is disrespectful to Zambians.
