….Former President ECL delivers a special address on the Centenary celebration of Zambias founding father Dr Kenneth David Kaunda….
The founding father of Zambia Dr. Kenneth Kaunda must be weeping in his grave when he sees how most Zambians living in abject poverty said the sixth President H.E Edgar Lungu.
In a live national address aired on Dr. Kaunda´s centenary, President Lungu said the first Presidents anguish over Zambia´s poverty predicament is compounded by the wanton rising abuse of human rights and deteriorating rule of law.
“Dr. Kaunda is weeping from his grave today when he sees the country he helped found face abject poverty and wanton abuse of human rights,” said Dr. Lungu.
The former President reminded Zambians that the history of the southern African nation would be ´incomplete´ without the mention of Dr. Kaunda, his contribution to job and national wealth creation and uniting Zambia which has more than 70 tribes.
“He united the 73 tribes of Zambia and taught us that Zambia was just one nation through his doctrine of ´One Zambia one Nation,´” President Lungu said.
Dr. Lungu added that Kaunda, “taught us that we can build our own national wealth through ZCCM and INDECO, this remains undisputed to date.”
The sixth President also lauded Dr. Kaunda for cutting short his term of office in 1991 when a clarion call for the return to multi-party democracy reached a crescendo to avoid conflict.
President Lungu said on a geopolitical front, “Dr Kaunda did not shy away from speaking against apartheid in South Africa, oppression in Namibia, Angola, Mozambique, and the rest of Africa and all the way to Palestine.”

President Lungu also beseeched Zambians to emulate “the legacy of Kaunda and see how we can do better than he did.”
Dr. Lungu bemoaned the continued rise in the cost of the staple mealie meal and fuel which he said is pushing Zambians into destitution daily.
Dr Kaunda, born at Lubwa Mission in Chinsali on 28th April 1924, northern Zambia, died 17th June 2021 aged 97 would have turned 100 years this week.
He ruled Zambia from 1964 to 1991 when Zambia was largely a one-party democratic state under UNIP before multi-party democracy returned via MMD
Why do most leaders appear to speak sensible things when they’re out of power. ECL check your appointments when you were in power. Mostly it was people from the North, your own children stole and $24 million was stolen under your nose. My prayer is that let that day come when you come face to face with the law.
Hakainde himself also used to speak a lot of sense when he was opposition leader. And then he got into power. The rest is history.
He is now a demagogue.

Former President must not pretend that he ruled the country well.The reason why people woke up on that special day and voted him out was due to miss rule.In his tenure people of Zambia suffered alot from one but activity to the next .His cadres wore military ligalia brutalise people and damaged their properties,some marriages were broken because the cadres used looted money to grab some women from fundless men.People were gassed across the country .Some buildings were gutted by fire without proper explanation but just lies with view to taint the image of opposition UPND.His people came with unbelievable acts of evil to arrest Hakainde Hichilema put him in prison to the point of almost killing him.A number of babaric and mischievous acts was the order of the day.The media was not spared an example of closure of The Post News Paper, Television and radio stations were shut.Former Vice President Nevers Mumba was put in prison for vising ZNBC.Zambians can’t forget these atrocities for they are still fresh in mind.Food prices were not cheap too.His government over borrowed and this is what is over buddening the UPND government.President Hichilema has tried to do his best both in towns and rural areas to uplift the lives of people.Free education,meal allowances for students in universities has been given,CDF has been increased big-time and equally in all constituencies, schools,clinics and hospitals which stalled in PF government have been built and rehabilitated.There is just a lot the PF did to make the country go down economically and bad governance.People of Zambia should really be thanked for voting PF government out or else we were going to be worser than Haiti.This country was going to have militia groups and numerous commanders who were going to ruin the country and loot carelessly.They should not be allowed to come near power again never at all they are irresponsible.They will come and devide the country.

Ex-President Lungu, may I ask you; ” would you have entertained HH when he was in opposition to give this speech you have given to the Nation without arresting him??! Yes, even under Ex-President KK, we used to que for essential commodities including the famous MEALIE-MEAL. Yes, the problems steadily began under Ex-President Sata when he appointed an all northern and eastern block cabinet ministers. After all, wasn’t Ex-President KK himself who was opposed to Ex-President Sata becoming a sound Republican President but appointed him as Lusaka Governor anyway.
This problem was created by Sata. Like Lungu Sata wasn’t supposed to be anywhere close to leadership and the presidency, just like Kambwili. But in a nation where leadership is in short supply you see criminals masquerading as leaders and pushing for highest position when they personally know they have nothing to offer and are only interested in looting

Mr. Lungu has no shame at all nor remorse. First he should leave Super Ken to rest in peace and not use his name to further his diminishing political fortunes. Second, Mr. Lungu is the author of the economic ills we are facing because he ran a Kleptocracy, raiding the national treasury with abandon using his “uubomba mwibala alya mwibala” philosophy. His wife and children became obscenely rich with one of his minions surrendering USD24million to the State recently.
Mr. Lungu needs to be thoroughly investigated as to his source of wealth. He must also publicly disclose his assets and liabilities as submitted to the ECZ just before the August 2021 elections. The incumbent HH must do the same.

When he pointed out to us that you and Tasila fenced off a forestry. Today Tasila has admitted that she obtained what she is said to own with your assistance.
In Kaunda’s last years, he alluded to your mismanagement of the nation. So to suggest poverty that you created and helped plaunder wealth and the treasury. Today you insult us by lying about this government is responsible yet any child attending school is rejoicing as they attend school instead of a select few driving on fuel subsidy. We may be hungry but at least we can go to the clinic and find medicine. We maybe poor but we can walk with dignity without being harassed by your “thugs”. Civil service is able to account for money it recieves cause the “dirty” fingers of you and your theiving clique has been deterred from treasury and forced to return what you dont own and stole.
