ECL BLIND TO REALITY

By Mark Simuuwe

ECL claims civil servants are frustrated. He thinks they were enjoying seeing their colleagues’ non payment of retirement packages at his time , non employment for their children, scrapping off meal allowances for their children , being insulted everyday by carders?

This man is blind to reasoning ; what he does not realize is that the over 34,000 tecruited teachers are happy people he could not employ and over 14,000 recruited health workers whom he failed to employ. They punished him because they wanted to elect a leadership that could employ them .

The civil servants who were already in the system are happy that they can now get paid their package in 3 months after retirement and get paid salaries on time .

  1. Retirees from UNZA and other semi-autonomous public institutions still take between 5 and 8 years to be paid their terminal benefits. While this is happening, they remain on the payroll drawing money for salaries which continues to be a drain on public coffers as salaries paid to retirees will by law still not be deducted from their pensions. For those who have been contributing to the ZISC superannuation scheme, some are even in their 11th year of waiting for their monies. Meanwhile, interest continues to acceue which public institutions that were not regularly remitting monthly contributions of workers will still have to pay to retirees. Mark, stop painting the picture that all is rosy in public service. While you eat from the party in government do not be economical with the truth!
