By Darius Choonya

The Economic and Financial Crimes Court has refused to quash former Defense Minister Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba’s corruption charges involving over 2.7 million dollars and K20 million.

Magistrate Stanford Ngobola says the charges are rightly before court.
In his application, Mr. Mwamba had made an application to quash some of the charges alleging that they did not indicate how the offense was committed.

Among the allegations, Mr. Mwamba is between December, 27 2012 and March 31 2013 as Minister of Defence, failed to disclose interest in writing in relation to a contract for the supply and delivery of General Purpose Shelter Tents for Zambia Army, valued at 1. 2 Million dollars, a transaction that concerns the Ministry of Defence, a public body.-Diamond TV
