Former Mugabe Party Spokesperson Denies Zanu-PF’s Interpretation of Makandiwa’s Prophecy
In a recent development, Jealousy Mawarire, a notable member of the United Family International Church (UFIC) led by Prophet Emmanuel Makandiwa, has refuted the prevailing notion that Makandiwa prophesied a victory for the ruling Zanu-PF party in the forthcoming August 23 Elections following a viral prophecy.

A Non-Partisan Prophecy
Mawarire, who previously served as a spokesperson for the National Patriotic Front (NPF), a short-lived opposition party led by Robert Mugabe for the 2018 elections, has deemed the claims surrounding the prophecy as a product of political propaganda rather than a faithful representation of the prophecy itself.

Misrepresentation of Makandiwa’s Prophecy
Addressing the issue, Mawarire pointed out that the alleged prophetic message was devoid of any direct reference to a specific political party, emphasizing the non-partisan nature of the original revelation. He underlined the careful wording of the prophecy, stating,

“Prophet Makandiwa mentioned no political party by name. Yet the ‘creative’ within Zanu-PF have latched onto the undisclosed prophecy and made it about their party winning the election.”

Political Maneuvering in Election Season
Mawarire’s commentary brings attention to the phenomenon of political manoeuvring during election season. He characterized the situation as both amusing and perplexing, asserting, “It’s a classical example of the ‘Kingdom of God suffering (allowing) violence and the violent taking (it) by force’ (Matthew 11:12).”

He added a touch of humour, observing,

“Anyway, ‘all things are possible for one who believes’ (Mark 9:23). So shouldn’t the opposition have taken that same statement and personalized?”

Interpreting the Narrative
The former opposition spokesperson acknowledged that the ruling party’s adeptness at seizing the narrative has led to the widespread circulation of their interpretation, portraying the prophecy as an endorsement of their electoral victory. Mawarire quipped,

“Looks like Zanu-PF was smarter and more adept at taking ‘the Kingdom of God by force,’ hence their personalization of the statement by the Prophet and the fervent circulation of their interpretation.”

“Election season is very crazy, if not funny. The propaganda is quite hilarious. I was physically in that service,

“Looks like Zanu-PF was smarter and more adept at taking ‘the Kingdom of God by force’ hence their personalisation of the statement by the Prophet and the fervent circulation of their interpretation that it was about them winning the August 23 2023 harmonized elections.

“It’s the election season and propaganda knows no boundaries.”
