GOVERNMENT CALLED TO FOLLOW UP AND BRING TO BOOK AGRO DEALERS SELLING FAKE FERTILISERS…FAKE FERTILIZER MIXED WITH SAND
A farmer of Namakube in Chief Ufwenuka’s area in Monze District has called on government through the Ministry of Agriculture to follow up and bring to book agro dealers who are in the habit of selling fake fertilisers.
Mr Terio Simweene says in the past few farming seasons, some farmers lost out on crop yields because they bought fake fertilisers.
Mr Simweene explains to Chikuni Radio that the fertiliser they were buying was mixed with sand.
He says this should not be allowed to continue hence the need for government to trace the source and bring perpetrators to book.
Several farmers have complained that fake has infiltrated the market in Monze district and this is threatening crop production.
