GOV’T RECRUITS 300 WILDLIFE POLICE OFFICERS

MINISTRY of Tourism Permanent Secretary, Evans Muhanga, says over 300 Wildlife Police Officers have been recruited to help curb human and animal conflict across the country.

Muhanga tells Byta FM Zambia News in a Phone interview that the Wildlife Police Officers are currently undergoing a six months training and will be deployed momentarily.

He has since expressed certainty that the yet-to-be-deployed Wildlife Officers will boost the number of personnel needed to manage the human and animal conflict in communities.

Recently, Chief Chikanta of the Tonga People of Kalomo District welcomed the employment of more Wildlife Officers to curb escalating cases of human and animal conflict.

The Traditional Leader disclosed that human and animal conflict has remained to be an issue of concern as people continue to lose their lives and crops.
