The Patriotic Front, (PF) has suffered a loss in Senga Hill in Northern Province as District Chairperson, Jerry Simwiinga defects to the opposition United Party for National Development, (UPND).
Lusaka Province UPND Women’s Wing Deputy Chairperson, Angela Muuka welcomed Simwinga to the party.
Simwiinga has cited lack of unity and poor leadership in the PF as the reason for ditching the party.
He says the internal turbulence in the ruling party had weighed heavily on him and his committee, prompting the decision.
Simwinga has also commended newly adopted UPND 2021 Parliamentary Candidate, Henry Sikazwe.
The PF has not commented on the defection, but Muuka says the UPND has welcomed the entire 24 member committee.
