Lovemore Kanyama says he was the best District Commissioner (DC) in the country and that he has not been fired.
He said contrary to reports that he has been fired, instead, his contract has come to an end.
He added that during his tenure of office he managed to tame UPND.
Kanyama said that his record of performance speaks for itself and that no one can beat it.
Asked why he claims to have been the best DC, he responded that it was not guess work;
“I know, even you, you it yourself out there that I was the best DC countrywide.”
Kanyama added that he would remain grateful to President Lungu for giving him the opportunity to serve in his administration.
The outspoken former DC said it was only Siavonga in the whole Southern province where you would not find UPND flag because he banned hanging of the opposition party flag.
Kanyama is one of the DCs whose contract has not been renewed by President Edgar Lungu.
He made these sentiments when he was speaking last evening in an interview with China’s Byta FM.
