PRESIDENT LUNGU NOMINATES NKANDU LUO AS HIS RUNNING MATE

President Edgar Lungu has nominated former Minister of Fisheries and Livestock and Munali Member of Parliament Professor Nkandu Luo as his running mate in the August 12th general election.
President Lungu unveiled Professor Luo this morning as his running mate when he successfully filed in his nomination at the Mulungushi International Conference Centre.
Speaking after filing in the nominations, President Lungu told journalists that he is happy with his choice of his running mate and is also aware that some sections of society may not be happy with this selection.
The President who has described Professor Luo as a simple and hardworking working who deserved to be his running mate has since called on the electorate to rally behind him and his running mate.
Professor Luo has served as a Member of Parliament for Mandevu and Munali constituencies and has also served as cabinet minister in various portfolio including, health, local government, transport and communications, higher education and livestock.
She is a Microbiologist who previously served as head of pathology and microbiology at the University Teaching Hospital in Lusaka and has carried out extensive research and published in respected medical journals.
