The Lusaka City Council (LCC) says the value of the damage caused by fire that gutted Hungry Lion at East Park Mall last evening has not yet been established.
A section of Lusaka’s Hungry Lion East Park Mall eastern side store was gutted last evening by fire.
LCC Public Relations Manager Chola Mwamba says the valuation experts are going on the ground to establish what has been damaged.
Ms Mwamba says the fire has caused a lot of damage including damage to furniture, accounting books and food items.
“The local authority would like to confirm that there was an incident of fire at Hungry Lion East Park Mall yesterday around 20:50 hours, and a team of firefighters rushed to the scene and managed to put off the fire by 21:50 hours. Following this incident, the local Fire Authority investigation team is on the ground gathering information to establish the cause and origin of the fire,” said the LCC Public Relations Manager.6
