LUSAKA-NDOLA DUAL CARRIAGEWAY DEAL FISHY- Bob Sichinga

Former commerce, trade and industry minister Bob Sichinga has charged that the public private partnership deal to reconstruct the Lusaka-Ndola road into a dual carriageway is fishy.

Mr. Sichinga says the whole issue of bringing in macro-oceans investment consortium to finance, construct, operate and maintenance the 327 kilometers Ndola-Lusaka dual carriageway does not make sense as it is a deliberate thing to defraud the government.

Mr. Sichinga who is also a forensic auditor says this is because the responsibility they are asking the consortium to do is what the road development agency and national road fund agency are meant to do which is award contracts, maintain the roads among others.

He adds that funding this project using the national pension scheme authority and workers compensation is not good.

Mr. Sichinga tells Qtv news that the whole idea of the public private partnership deal to reconstruct the Lusaka-Ndola dual carriageway smells a rat.

He says the 25-year concession is not making sense.
