MOB DAMAGES A HOUSE FOR FORMER FIRST DEPUTY SPEAKER OF NATIONAL ASSEMBLY.

Police in Mafinga District have arrested 9 people in connection of Malicious damage of the house and properties belonging to Former First Deputy Speaker of National Assembly Catherine Namugala valued at k61,000.

This occured over the weekend round 15:00 hours in Pwaza village when a group of people attacked the Nyika Royal Council who had gathered at the house making preparation for the installation of their Traditional leader at the house of Namugala who is also the Former Member of Parliament for Isoka East now Mafinga Constituency.

Muchinga Police Commanding Officer Kaunda Mubanga who confirmed the development to ISOFM NEWS explained that the mob confronted the council and immediately started breaking windows and other household goods .

Mr Mubanga says the matter was then reported to Mafinga police station by Goodwill Mugala on behalf of Ms Namugala.

And Police booked out to Mulekatembo village and managed to apprehend the suspects to assist with investigations.

He added that a docket of the case has been opened and investigations are on going.
