MORE ENDORSE KATUMBI: Franck Diongo & Seth Kikuni Confirm Withdrawal From Presidential Race To Support Katumbi

Opposition candidates Franck Diongo and Seth Kikuni have officially pulled out of the presidential race in the 2023 General Elections offer their support to Moïse Katumbi as the common candidate for the opposition.

Diongo and Kikuni have joined former Prime Minister Matata Ponyo Mapon who also withdrew from the election yesterday to declare his support for Katumbi.

The Mouvement Lumumbiste Progressiste (MLP) political party leader, Diongo, made the announcement in a joint-statement with Matata Ponyo and Kikuni posted on X (formerly Twitter) this Tuesday afternoon.

“We, presidential candidates, rally behind the candidacy of Moïse Katumbi Chapwe for the presidential election. Together, we are fighting against electoral fraud and we are committed to bringing real change to the DRC” Diongo wrote.

Meanwhile, more opposition candidates including Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Dr. Dénis Mukwenge who is standing on an independent ticket, is also expected to offer his support to Katumbi.

Katumbi, who launched his presidential campaign in emphatic fashion today in Kisangani, is touted to be the preferred common candidate for the proposed opposition coalition.
