MOROCCO, SPAIN AND PORTUGAL TO PLACE JOINT BID FOR 2030 FIFA WOLRD CUP

Morocco has combined forces with Spain and Portugal in a joint bid for the 2030 FIFA World Cup.

According to Maroc Agence Presse (MAP), Morocco’s King Mohammed VI has announced that the Kingdom of Morocco, together with Spain and Portugal have decided to present a joint bid to host the 2030 World Cup.

He adds that the joint bid will bring Africa, Europe, the northern and southern Mediterranean, the African, Arab and Euro-Mediterranean worlds together.

The speech was read by Morocco’s Education and Sports minister, Chakib Benmoussa, at the 73rd FIFA congress in Kigali, Rwanda.

The Moroccan National Football Team were the first Africans and Arabs to reach the semifinals of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

In addition, they hosted the FIFA Club World Cup competition last month and now look forward to hosting action from a men’s FIFA World Cup.
