PF IN KABUSHI THREATEN TO WITHDRAW FROM CONCOURT CASE IN WHICH AREA MP APPEALED NULLIFICATION OF HIS SEAT

By Tinkerbel Mwila

The opposition Patriotic Front in Kabushi Constituency has threatened to withdraw from the Constitutional Court the case in which Kabushi Member of Parliament Bowman Lusambo appealed the Ndola High Court’s decision to nullify his seat.

The PF in Kabushi has also threatened to call for an early election if the UPND continues with the alleged premature campaigns.

Recently, the PF in Ndola district wrote to the Electoral Commission of Zambia–ECZ- alleging that the UPND is conducting premature campaigns in Kabushi constituency despite the case being in the Constitutional Court, claims which the UPND has refuted.

Speaking in an interview, PF Kabushi Constituency Vice Chairman Fabian Mwanza says the party feels disadvantaged with the alleged premature campaigns as they are waiting for reserved judgement set for May 26, 2022.

Meanwhile UPND Ndola District Chairman David Zimba has maintained that the party is carrying out party mobilization and not campaigns.
