FORMER FIRST LADY ESTHER LUNGU SUMMONED

Police in Lusaka have summoned former first lady Esther Lungu for an interview.
According to police summons, Mrs Lungu is suppose to appear at IBEX Police station at 10 :00 hours, tomorrow September 6, 2023.
In May this year, police had questioned the former first lady in relation to theft of a motor vehicle and certificate of title for a property in Lusaka’s Libala south area.
This was after a Lusaka resident Elizabeth Phiri and her daughter furhana Patel complained that the former first lady grabbed their vehicles namely a Mitsubishi canter, Toyota Runx and Toyota Alex.
Ms. Phiri is also alleged to have been detained at a police station and later driven to the residence of the former first lady where she was together with her daughter made to surrender the said properties.
Some sources close to the case claim that the former first lady may be arrested.
