Ministry of Information and Media Director Spokesperson THABO KAWANA says President Hakainde HICHILEMA never promised Zambians to reduce the price of a 25kg bag of Mealie-Meal to K50.
In his sharing on Dynamic Analysis Zambia Whatsapp group this evening, Mr. Kawana challenged those alleging that President HICHILEMA while in opposition made such a promise to produce unequivocal evidence.
Mr. Kawana says he will personally rally a personal reward from partners to be awarded to any person who shall produce a video clip or an audio of President HH in opposition promising to bring down the price of Mealie meal to K50.
And Mr. Kawana Expressed optimism that no individual has such records because no such position was ever uttered by the President in opposition then.
The Ministry of Information and Media Director Spokesperson has since revealed that he is ready to lobby for as much K200,000 for any person, scribe or media house that can produce such an audio or video.
Mr. Kawana says it’s time to put this propaganda narrative to bed as it is as tired and fake as the privatisation story.
Meanwhile, two years before 2021 general elections in Zambia, an online publication lusaka times quoted opposition UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema pledging to reduce the price of a 25kg bag of mealie meal by below K50 after forming Government.
The online publication further quoted UPND President Hakainde HICHILEMA saying his Government will target to cut mealie meal prices with its agriculture policies.
