Archbishop Mpundu

By Chileshe Mwango

Former Archbishop of the Diocese of Lusaka Telesphore Mpundu has charged that the proposed Commission of Inquiry on privatization is aimed at pinning down UPND President Hakainde Hichilema.

Archbishop Mpundu says it is very clear that the ruling Patriotic Front -PF- wants to ensure Mr. Hichilema does not stand in the forthcoming general elections as he is viewed to be threat to the party in government.

The outspoken retired archbishop adds that if the commission of inquiry is to go on, it should not segregate but should include all people that were involved in the process, President Edgar Lungu and FDD Leader Edith Nawakwi inclusive.

Meanwhile, Archbishop Mpundu has ruled out sentiments by PF Secretary General Davies Mwila that the archbishop dislikes the ruling party due to his bad relationship with its founding president Michael Sata.

Archbishop Mpundu insists that he had a good relationship with the late republican president.
