SUSPENDING CAMPAIGNS IN SELECTED AREAS GOES AGAINST THE TENETS OF DEMOCRACY!
This morning ECZ has announced suspension of any form of campaigns in selected parts of the country. Much as this may help in curbing violence, democracy demands that those aspiring for leadership explain their manifestos to the electorates. This helps our voters make informed decisions. Banning campaigns is therefore an I fragment on the rights of those expected to go and cast their votes in the next few weeks.
ECZ and police should have identified the perpetrators of violence and have them suspended front the election. That would have saved as an example to other would be offenders.
