THERE WILL BE NO SO-CALLED STREET ‘COMMANDERS’ IN OUR TIME.
Seeing images of so-called PF street ‘commanders’ wearing full military combat, few days after the commemoration of the 45th Defence forces day, is a huge insult to our men and women in uniform. The law is very clear:
(3) Any person who, without authority, wears an official uniform, or any dress having
the appearance or distinctive marks of such official uniform, is guilty of an offence and is liable upon conviction to a fine not exceeding seven hundred and fifty penalty units or to
imprisonment for a term not exceeding two months, or to both.
These PF street ‘commanders’ are breaking the law with impunity because they are being tolerated by their top leadership. To us, this military fatigue is so sacred and must only be adorned by our trained military personnel.
We shall end this impunity.
