THEY HAVE BROUGHT GAY ALLEGATIONS BECAUSE OUR WORK HAS IMPACT ON THE GROUND-FRED M’MEMBE
Ba Tata Ba Kapwepwe is said to like saying, “Ba lumendo nga mule sumwa ne nshimu mwaishiba amuti mulepanda ubuchi.”
These allegations against us on gay issues are coming because our work is having some impact on the ground. This is the basis of all the slander campaigns they have launched against us. Naturally, we are accustomed to this, and it just rolls off our backs, because we are used to their baseness. How can they survive if not with propaganda? How can they survive without lies and calumny, trying to credit those who oppose them and are making some progress?
But we shouldn’t forget that such accusations were made against the UPND in Parliament sometime last year. I remember how the former Kanchibiya PF member of parliament who was also former Inspector General of Police was shouted down by the UPND for lack of concrete evidence. The tempers were high. This was also used by the MMD in power against Michael Sata and the PF to slander a political opponent.
I am sure that the masses of our people will obey their instincts and not be swayed by the volume and intensity of that campaign they are waging against us. Meanwhile, we aren’t going to be demoralised or discouraged by this kind of campaign. What is important to us is having a clear conscience.
