PATULANI AND MOONGA STEAL FROM THEIR WIVES IN EASTERN AND ON THE RUN

TWO husbands of Eastern Province are on the run after they allegedly stole a combined amount of over K50,000 from their wives.

The first incident happened in Lundazi between March 2 and June 9 this year.In an interview yesterday, Police spokesperson Esther Katongo identified the suspect as Handing Moonga, who stole K40,530 from his wife. A docket has been opened and the suspect is at large,” Ms Katongo said.

In the other incident, a 32-year-old wife of Chipata’s Mchini has allegedly been robbed of K12,000 by her husband identified as Patulani Chimuzimu, 42.Mrs Katongo said the theft is alleged to have happened on June 6 this year at around 11:00 hours.

She said the two men got the money in the absence of their wives and ran away.Mrs Katongo said a manhunt has been launched for the two elusive husbands.If caught, they will be charged with theft.

And after allegedly raping and killing his victim, a 42-year-old man of Chantente farms in Kitwe has handed himself in.In a statement yesterday, Copperbelt Commissioner of Police Elias Chushi said the alleged murder and rape happened last Friday.Mr Chushi said John Chibesa, 51, reported that his sister, 46, was raped and allegedly killed by Jackson Chipoya, 42.“Officers rushed to the scene and found the naked body of the victim lying on the ground facing upwards. The body was inspected and no injuries were found,” Mr Chushi said.On the material day, Kennedy Chalwe, 21, was walking home when he heard people who seemed drunk talking in a nearby bush. Mr Chushi said when Mr Chalwe drew closer, he allegedly saw Chipoya raping the victim, who was shouting for help.He said Mr Chalwe rushed to inform the victim’s husband about the ordeal and when they rushed to the scene, they found the victim lifeless.“While at the scene, Jackson Chipoya surrendered himself, saying that he is the one that killed the deceased. This is when he was apprehended and taken to the police,” Mr Chushi
