Two UPND candidates appeared with adoption certificates in Kalulushi

Confusion rocked the filing in of nominations for the UPND in Kalulushi Constituency after two candidates appeared both with adoption certificates.

Ngosa Daka arrived first at Kalulushi Municipal Council with an adoption certificate while Chikabala Kaleta, whose name was on the schedule, also came in a few minutes later.

However, after Daka went in, police blocked Kaleta on reasons that the UPND Candidate had already gone in and in the process, a fracas ensued.

This resulted in Kaleta’s adoption certificate being torn while Daka had to be whisked away by police as unruly UPND cadres almost lynched him.

Member of the UPND National Management Committee Kenny Ngona who accompanied the candidate expressed shock as to who issued an adoption certificate to Daka.

He said the turn of events was shocking adding that the party did not at any point sit to discuss the adoptions over the weekend.

The UPND have since been given some time to rectify the mess and have their candidate file in the nominations.

The Opposition political party had been allocated 09:00 to 09:50 to file in the nomination.
