GOVERNMENT CLARIFIES IMMUNITY STATUS FOR FORMER PRESIDENTS
Government says the Republican President only has immunity from prosecution while in office.
Information and Media Permanent Secretary, THABO KAWANA says a former President who commits an offence beyond their presidential term can be arrested and prosecuted like any citizen.
Speaking at the Ministry of Home Affairs this afternoon, Mr. KAWANA said government operates through the law and it is ready to follow it to the end.
He has told you he is ready to be arrested. So, why are you still engaging in impotent waffle and not arresting him?
