HOW MANY OF US WILL YOU ARREST – CATHOLIC PRIEST ASK

Fr Patrick Mupula a Catholic priest based on the Copperbelt has advised Government not to arrest priests when they preach about the current situation, asking, “How many of us will you arrest”.

In a homily delivered at St Anna Lubunga Parish attended by CF leader Harry Kalaba, fr Mupula said the price of essential commodities were very high and it was only right that government listened.

    • May be you were born yesterday eh?! Under which regime has the Catholic Church kept quiet? The Catholic Church hàs always spoke truth to power to all the government, including the PF.
      Read your history properly eh

  1. The general instruction of yhe Roman missal(GIRM) governing the celebration of mass states under section 65
Please continue reading agter you google homily meaning in Wikipedia under
    Roman Catholic Mass Homily
In essence it says it should be an exposition of so e aspects of the readings gromy sacred scriptures or another text from the proper mass of the day.
This is actually a dirrction as to how roman Catholic priests conduct their preachings, instituted in1969

  2. It’s always good for the learned like priests to explain to people the economics behind the current situation and also advise GRZ and congregants on possible solutions in the immediate term and also ask congregants to contribute to the wellbeing of the economy rather than giving a blind eye to pressing issues causing the economic pressures at hand …
The church can build or destroy ….so the need to use our wisdom to explain and constructively critic. We are looking up to you to give knowledge and understanding of the purported economic hardships and how we can navigate around.. the government of the day is more accommodating that the past
Let us be wise and offer wisdom to both GRZ and congregants. We have what it takes to do it with the wisdom of GOD coupled with the experience and education we have

  3. For sure it is not right for GRZ to act in the manner they have but equally as learned priests we can always take a leaf from Jesus wisdom to give knowledge and understanding to the congregants on the current economic status and how both GRZ and the congregants can navigate through .. the problem is that we want to be blind of the counterproductive issues affecting the economy by giving a picture that someone is to blame rather than offering a balanced view by giving constructive criticism
Men of God are influential in society thus we need to always carry this wisdom when preaching. We have so much knowledge in governance thus we should not come out as though someone is to blame when we all know the true picture of the situation affecting man kind not only in zambia but everywhere thus HOPE, Love and Faith coupled with hard work should be preached always unless where the situation is clear that someone is to blame like man made situations ..
There is No need to politic obvious situations but let us preach and advise with wisdom

  4. This is a brutal regime! They think they can arrest all the priests in Zambia, save the least for Ndola Diocese? This is a big mistake by this deceptive regime.

This is the first government to summon a priest for a homily at the alter. Not even Kaunda summoned the most criticized government by almost all church based associations in Zambia. Shame on you mwe babufi..
