WE are proud of you, we are happy with what you are doing, senior chief Mukuni has told President Hakainde

Speaking when the President Hichilema paid a courtesy call on him at Lumpasa Palace on Sunday, Mukuni, whose chiefdom spans across Livingstone, Zimba and Kazungula districts, told President Hichilema that his subjects last saw him when he was leader of the main opposition.

“Your Excellency, the showers (light rains) that have greated you as you were coming here are tears of joy. We last saw you when you were the leader of the opposition. We are proud of you, we are happy with what you are doing,” Mukuni who was flanked by chief Nyawa said.

President Hichilema who is accompanied by First Lady Mutinta responded by first greeting the two chiefs and the co-ruler to chief Mukuni known as the Bedyango.

“We are grateful to be here. Twamuletele mvula (we have brought you rains),” President Hichilema responded as Mukuni chipped in saying “misozi yatalika kukondwa (tears are begining to be happy).”

President Hichilema is in Livingstone to receive his Rwandese counterpart Paul Kagame who arrives at Harry Mwanga Nkumbula International Airport on Monday for a two-day State visit.
