WHY RULING UPND YOUTHS ARE STARVING
…unprecedented
By Miles B. Sampa, MP (21.09.2022)
1.0 Background
Statement by the UPND deputy SG Gertrude Imenda that UPND youths are not benefiting from their victory because PF is still Incharge in laughable and depicts of a person that is either not intouch with reality on the ground or he is just being mischievous with the lazy trajectory of instead of resolving, keeps blaming a former husband that is long gone for everything.
2.0 Pa Ground
Here is truth. All opposition PF youths are starving. Unprecedented is that even all ruling government UPND youths are also starving if not more. Kuti waumfwa noluse ngabwlekulomba (saddening when they ask for help).
3.0) Why UPND Youths have No Money
Kwati ba Finance Minister Dr Musokotwane at MOF nabo naba kota as did my beloved ABC (MHSRIEP).
Reason is due to lack of government spending in the economy and enshrined in the Keynesian economics.
3.1) Keynesian Economic Theory
Here is what the guru of economics John Maynard Keynes preached over 70 years ago.
His theories known as Keynesian economics, center around the idea that governments should play an active role in their countries’ economies, instead of just letting the free market reign. Specifically, Keynes advocated federal spending to mitigate downturns in business cycles.
3.2) GDP
Accordingly, GDP is defined by the following formula: GDP = Consumption + Investment + Government Spending + Net Exports or more succinctly as GDP = C + I + G + NX where consumption (C) represents private-consumption expenditures by households and nonprofit organizations, investment (I) refers to business expenditures …
4.0) Implication
It follows therefore that if the UPND government is not spending on their youths via business contracts be it to mend roads or to supply goods and services to government, economic activities shrink, money become scarce and people begin to starve.
5.0) Examples Spending not Good for UPND youths
5.1) Giving ZESCO poles supply contracts to a Zimbabwean company did not empower any of the UPND youths.
5.2) Giving the fertilizer or maize contracts to only Alpha commodities and ETG has not and will not empower any of the UPND youths.
5.3) The direct purchase of 156 motor vehicles by Government from CDF funds has also denied atleast 156 UPND youths from supplying the vehicles to their MPs offices.
6.0) National Benefits of Empowering UPND Youths
If UPND youths are empowered, then they will be able to buy talk time or frizit from ordinary citizens (including PF youths) and in the end all citizens will benefit.
That’s how it worked before and that’s how it works anywhere in the World.
7.0) Conclusion
Without government spending as above, bo Imenda will be sounding like a broken record blaming PF until it will be 2026.
One more thing, please stop sending your youths to come see us MPs for CDF empowerment which has never arrived anywhere. It’s stuck somewhere between Councils, ZPPA and the Central Government.

Anyone who is starving is just lazy!
It would appear UPND youths were admiring PF thugs and some UPND youths thought they would take over the hooliganism from PF. Tough luck!
Miles Sampa, put aside myopic petty partisan politics!
You should instead be helping the young people in coming up with companies or cooperatives and access the many empowerment funds which were hard to come by under PF. Only PF cadres were benefiting!
Waulesi asadye!
Please take advantage of increased GRZ spending through CDF, CEEC, etc!
Ba PF have become bachilande lande noise makers!
Please it is better to think of what you what to say than just talking because you have a mouth. UPND, unlike PF, is in Government and you are suggesting
that UPND should only favour it’s members, this is not right. The government should work to improve the economy so that every one benefits. Not what you were doing in PF, distributing money to PF cadres and thinking that you are improving the economy. That’s why
PF cadres are starving now because
they do not know how to work for themselves. We remember what happened to you after you left UPND
and rejoined PF. You had to crawl for everything for you to be accepted. PF taught you a lesson which you don’t want to remember.
MILES SAMPA SHOULD NOT BEAT ABOUT THE BUSH. HE SHOULD JUST TELL ALL THE YOUTHS IN ZAMBIA THAT “TANTAMENI POLITICS” AS ADVOCATED BY BWALYA FUBE AND BWALYA FRANK IS NO LONGER TENABLE. LET THEM FORM COOPERATIVES AND APPLY FOR LOANS SO THAT THEY CAN DO PROPER BUSINESSES. TANTAMENI POLITICS BREEDS POLITICAL BULLIES SUCH COMMANDER INO OR EBENEZAR 1 OR BULLDOZERS OR BONANZAS . JUST TELL THE YOUTHS THE FACTS INSTEAD OF THE KEYNESIAN FIMO FIMO WHICH THEY MAY NOT UNDERSTAND.
It is the responsibility of every MP to work with government to mobilize their constituencies so that citizens can begin to access the CDF funds allocated to them by government . This is their right. If this is not happening then something maybe wrong with the person they entrusted with the responsibility to take care of their interests.
They must ask themselves the hard questions of relevance and leadership skills and quality of their representatives.
It maybe an indicator that the voters chose an ill qualified leader. They went for popularity and not quality. Without scrutinizing capacity of the MP they got short changed an image but lacking the substance. Ever wondered why you don’t hear some MP’s in parliament. Pay close attention you will begin to notice them.
Very soon this inability to perform will become evident and apparently visible when some constituencies begin to thrive and prosper while others remain the same and poorer. Leadership will be the key issue that will determine success or failure.
Government needs to continuously step up efforts and mechanisms of holding each MP accountable for how the citizens in their constituencies are taking advantage of the CDF funds. They need to encourage the implementation and funding of projects that benefit their communities. If there is failure to empower their people they should be exposed of un willingness to participate in the national development process. This is not a partisan matter. Lifes of Zambians are at stake and should not be used as expendable assets to advance personal ambitions.
Politics must not interfere with national development. Society needs to be specifically informed about the strategic plans that benefit the entire country regardless of which political party introduces the workable programs.
Political parties come and go. Zambia as a country will out live any political party or a group of politicians hence we need to focus on what benefits and builds the Country. Remember a few people can not be the preserve of all the knowledge for all the 18 plus million of Zambians.
They are only managers given the task to perform a responsibilty within a given time frame. That’s all. It is a privilege but not a right. They remain employees for real and not as a campaign slogan we have become accustomed to hear every election day. This is where some of these shameless politicians kneel before the voters while inside their hearts they are standing with a resolve not the entertain the same voters when in power. That’s why we can not access them in their offices. They forget we the voters are their employers and they are the employees. This is an attitude which needs to be addressed by strengthing in our constitution so that we can hold our leaders accountable for their actions.
These petty, issues where political parties are playing childish games of the pulling him down syndrome must stop. We are tired of these sick games. It should be also emphasised that no one party has the ability to take Zambia to its fullest potential through their crafted plan alone. This is a failed project and has proved over and over to fail us. We need the concerted effort of all political parties, citizens and cooperating partners to pull in one direction not in several directions which breeds confusion.
We need to focus on discussing matters that advance national interest. Not always talking about winning 2026. Frankly speaking who said tommorrow is promised to you. Specifically on the much craved 4 years from now. We live in the now and hence can do all we can do to contribute to our great nation today. Tomorrow maybe too late. And how sad if potential is taken to the grave denying the people a chance to enjoy the fruit produced for a life time.
What if God is ready to take you out from the earth and you don’t make next year. Is it not a waste that you as a politician focused on the future and with held your contribution and cooperation while in the meantime the people suffer till you are announced king. That’s is why most will be remembered as incompetence ,ineffective, irrelevant and irresponsible leaders.
The slogan, we want change is not a five year repeated song. We mean it. Change of mindset and attitude. It is time to consider what matters most. Political parties and personalities come and go, Zambia is constant. So let’s build this nation through the potential we possess, human resource and natural resources and the tenacity to survive the hardest circumstances that we face as a nation.
It’s time to put Zambia first. We need to encourage our leaders to arise and participate in developing our great Country. Inclusiveness is the way to go. Those who want to divide and rule and fight in perpetuity should be exposed and side lined as we build a better Zambia which is embracive of every Zambian regardless of Tribe, Race, religion or gender.
Rebuilding of our Country is not the responsibilty and preserve of politicians, this concept is not correct and must be discarded. All of us need to participate where we make a contribution efficiently , effectively , diligently with intergrity and loyalty to our flag where we all owe alligence to.
May God bless this United State of Zambia.
Miles Sampa must be telling us what they did in PF which lead to PF youths eat and whether they grew the economy according to the theory he lamentably tried to expound, or they did chipante pante and slid this country into total poverty. The truth Mr. Sampa is that it was an insult to this country tohave PF in power for 10 years. Madam Imenda is right because to dismantle the politicization of government civil service and parastatal companies will take time to accomplish. All influential jobs went to PF members who according to this government can not be replaced because they are fellow Zambians. However, their actions do not reflect the good will of the New dawn gfovernment not to fire them. Madam Imenda knows what she is talking about. Miles Sampa also knows the damage they did.
Walasa miles. walasa. Even the inflation rate has dropped because from Aug 2021 there hasn’t been any govt spending, spending being a factor in inflation. But the economic damage is that the country has lost out on a full years production ( investment) because the biggest spender who is the govt is not doing so. Result? Let me end here because blind bats, praise singers will still not accept it……………Can someone tell me whats going on? Not even a road, not even patching up potholes in the CBD of Lusaka, Not even a ngwee of CDF has been released…whats going on?
