ZAMBIAN DELEGATION ARRIVES IN NIGERIA AHEAD OF REPATRIATION OF DR KABUNGO’S BODY
The Zambian entourage has arrived in Abuja, Nigeria led by Doctor Chrispine Moyo as part of efforts to repatriate the body of Doctor Joseph Kabungo.
The Kabungo family, the FAZ delegation and the team of four doctors were welcomed by FAZ General Secretary Adrian Kashala and his Nigerian counterpart Mohammed Sanusi.
Officials from the Zambian mission in Nigeria were also on hand to welcome the Zambian entourage.
The FAZ and government have moved swiftly to ensure that Dr Kabungo’s case gets maximum attention.
Dr Kabungo, who was a CAF/FIFA medical officer, is said to have died of a cardiac arrest on Tuesday night in the aftermath of the Nigeria/Ghana FIFA World Cup qualifier.
The deceased was also part of the 2012 Africa Cup winning side where he served as team Doctor.
