ZAMBIANS SHØT BY ZIMBABWEAN WILDLIFE GUARDS

TWO Zambians have been shøt by Zimbabwean Wildlife Officers who found them fishing on Lake Kariba, causing them to sustain bullet wounds, one on the legs and the other person on the eye.

Maamba Police received the report of the shooting from Franco Siameja of Siabanswi Village in Mweemba Chiefdom of Sinazongwe District that his two workers had been shot.

The workers are Jembe Ndindibula and Muzo Zombie who work for his Rigg to fish Kapenta.

Southern Province Commissioner of Police, Auxensio Daka explains that the incident occurred between 19th November, 2023 at 19:00 hours and 20th Movember, 202 at 05:00 hours.

Daka says two out of four of Zimbabwean Wildlife Officers have been apprehended by members of the public.

He states that four Zimbabwean Wildlife Officers armed with three firearms were doing patrols along Lake Kariba when they met three Zambian nationals who were in a Rigg fishing Kapenta.

They accused the Zambian nationals of fishing in Zimbabwean waters and in the process some other three Zambian nationals who were also fishing came and there was confusion.

One Zimbabwean shøt Ndindibula and later another Zimbabwean Wildlife Officer shøt Zombie and the four Zambians who were not shøt at gained courage and tried to disarm the Zimbabwean Wildlife Officers.

Two Zimbabwean Wildlife Officers took off using the speed boat leaving the other two struggling with the Zambian nationals.
