SIAVONGA MAN WAS HURRIEDLY BURIED IN SACK BY FAMILY BECAUSE HIS BODY WAS IN POOR STATE

SIAVONGA Area Member of Parliament Darius Mulunda says he is disappointed with manoeuvres by his political opponents to discredit his name and that of of the UPND.

Commenting on the false allegations that the ruling party neglected to provide a coffin to his official who attacked and killed by a crocodile while fishing in the lower Zambezi river, on Tuesday this week, Mr Mulunda said it’s sad some people who attended the burial of Mr Sikopano went there with bad motives to gain political mileage out of an unfortunate incident.

He said those trying to play politics out of a sad development should be ashamed and remember that the late was a family man who has left children behind.

Mr Mulunda wondered why some people are deliberately misleading the public over what exactly happened by accusing the party of failing to assist the deceased family when they know that both District and constituency officials were at hand and in contact with the bereaved family.

He explained that when the body was finally found yesterday, and as the party officials were preparing to go to Namomba, they received information that the family had decided to burry immediately because of the poor state of the body.

The MP said it’s not true that the party failed to buy a coffin adding that personally he has been helping many families in the constituency to put to rest their beloved ones.

Mr Mulunda said those behind the false accusations are well know people who had left the party towards the 2021 general election, and now are in the party to cause confusions.
