KOPALA RICH MAN RAN AWAY FROM GOODLIFE

Isaac Pombolola

From street to riches; story of the Kopala Richman,

Should have been three (3) weeks ago when I received several notifications of people tagging me into the Kopala Richman post where he said he will buy my books at K200, 000 each.

By then I just used to see him on several media platforms making headlines. After quick research, I got all the data I needed, and I knew he was not a rich kid, but I accepted to go and meet him,

I met him and his manager with a deep curiosity about his background, the man narrated how the boy a few years ago used to be in the streets, unkempt dressed in rags ever begging for coins and food staffs.

Inspired by Grand Ps rise to star Dom, his manager approached Rodgers Musonda’s (Kopala Richman) family and learnt that his dad passed away and the mother didn’t have the capacity to groom him and hence used to stay at the grand mother’s place.

Both the grand mother and mother accepted the vision to build the Kopala Richman’s brand and that is how he was removed from the streets and permission to take care of him was granted!

After several investments in him, the brand blew up and they had to relocate to Lusaka to push for more marketing deals! It became so real that ONLY those who knew him from the streets could tell that he wasn’t rich at all.

Truth be told, his manager is a real branding genius because almost everyone thought this kid is rich even in real life!

Everything has always been provided for him, the boy has many expensive suits, tailored for him, he is always moving in nice cars, met celebrities, politicians, and public figures he probably would have never met in his life.

The manager gave him a free identity and he was spending nights in a good house feasting on assorted foods of his own choice.

Support and constant communication was ever ongoing to him and his family. The boy has never seen the walls of a classroom and yet the qualified teacher to teach him was secured to be giving him private lessons.

As the saying goes, ‘you can take a person out of the street, but you can’t take the street out of the person.’

He became so famous that he could not play and interact with others freely without attracting a crowd, he started missing his old life! On Sunday around 21hrs he left the house dressed in a short and managed to hide himself in a truck even without the driver’s knowledge enroute to Kitwe.

Meanwhile his manager got so stressed thinking the boy is lost and kept on calling the grandmother if at all the boy went back home to no avail until people spotted him in Kitwe,

This makes me wonder, should the boy be allowed back in the streets because that’s inevitable once allowed to go his own ways, or should they forge ahead and rebrand him into a better person?

What do you all think of this Kopala Richman issue?

Whatever the management shall do, may it be in the best interest of the boy and his future!

Kitwe Widow Fails To Get Pension From NAPSA, After Brother In-law Uses Her Later Husband’s Identity To Get Job In The Mine

KITWE WIDOW FAILS TO GET PENSION FROM NAPSA, AFTER BROTHER IN-LAW USES HER LATER HUSBAND’S IDENTITY TO GET JOB IN THE MINE

By Correspondent Reporter
A WIDOW of Kitwe’s Kwacha compound is struggling to get benefits from the National Pension Scheme Authority (NAPSA) because her brother in-law used her late husbands NRC to get employment in the mines.

Musonda Kasonde 45 complained in an exclusive narrated to Fox News at her residence that she has been struggling with her four children since her husband Charles Chanda died in January 2022 after NAPSA discovered that the NRC details she presented had similar details with another Charles Chanda who was still working in Mopani Copper Mines in Mufulira.

But Kasonde disclosed that her late husband was aware that his young brother whose real name is Brighton Chanda used had used his NRC number to get a job in a company that was contracted in the mines some time back and had been pleading with him to change his NRC details but to no avail until he suddenly dropped dead last year.

“Apparently my husband did not want to take the matter to law enforcement officers because it was going to look bad with the family so he kept pleading and advising him to do the correct thing as it would bring problems in an event that one of them died but he kept dilly-dallying until my husband suddenly died,” she explained.

Kasonde said when Brighton decided to get his NRC, he told officers at the registration office that he was replacing his lost NRC with the same number and his late brothers names.

“How this whole thing started is that a long time ago in ZCCM days, when a contractor won a contract in the mine, they will just call unemployed youths and employ them using NRCs, they called it icigumuna (mass employment). So that is how he came home, picked his brother’s NRC number and got employed, so when Mopani came, he was retained as chef at the mine mess on the same personal credentials, my husband used to tell him that he needed to drop his NRC and get his own but that he never heeded to that advice,” she narrated.

She said on the day that her husband died, his NRC temporarily went missing until her eldest daughter became so angry to attract the attention of other mourners when suddenly the NRC resurfaced from nowhere.

She said after her NAPSA ordeal, the matter was escalated to the Mopani Criminal Investigations department but the matter keeps going on and on amid collusion undertones.

“NAPSA have told us that the same names and details are appearing in two companies in their data base purporting to be the same person who has switched companies so they had difficulties.”
She said Brighton’s other surviving elder brother and relatives have tried but failed to have him own up.

Kasonde said an officer at NAPSA tried to plead with Brighton so that he quietly changes credentials but he rudely responded that “let the same dead guy change his credentials” and stopped picking her calls to date.

She said all the hopes were now on Solwezi based Peter Chishimba a close friend of the late Chanda who got the NRC on the same day as her late husband in 1990 to go to Mopani and NAPSA to testify.

The New Dawn reporter called Brighton several times but his phone went unanswered as he has been doing to several other stakeholders in this matter.

Sources in Mopani Mine Police CID confirmed the development.

“Yes the woman and children have really suffered this guy is heartless because his birth record is different from what’s on the NRC but he is adamant, we hear that he actually boasts in Mufulira that he has spent K25 000 to seal off all loopholes,” a source close to the development said.
Meanwhile Copperbelt Police Commissioner Peacewell Mweemba when contacted said he had immediately taken interest in the matter and that his officers were on the way to Brighton’s work place.

BACKGROUND 👇👇

March 5, 2023 – The Sistah Sistah Foundation Zambia applied for a permit to hold a March-past within Lusaka District to raise awareness against women and girls sexual and Gender Based Violence.

The application was made on February 22, 2023 and the march- past was slated for March 4, 2023 at the Rugby Club in the Show Grounds.

The permit was granted considering that issues of sexual and GBV are on the increase as detected by the Police Victim Support Unit.
As such, this was deemed to be a noble cause by the Police. In the same vain, the same request was made to the Lusaka City Council and the Sistah Sistah Foundation were given a go-ahead.

It has, however, come to the attention of the Zambia Police Service that during the said March-past, conveners exhibited a different agenda from the one whose permit they sort for. The agenda seemed to have highlighted issues of LGBTQ ( Homosexuality).

According to the laws of Zambia, practicing homosexuality is a crime punishable by law. Sections 155 and 157 of the Penal Code Chapter 87 of the Laws of Zambia criminalize same-sex conduct between consenting adults. In addition, Zambia is a Christian nation and government does not champion homosexuality.

It is in this vain that the Zambia Police Service has summoned the conveners of the March-past in order to ascertain why the event was turned into a forum for championing homosexuality.

Members of the public are therefore, warned that they should not flout the law deliberately by taking advantage of the prevailing environment that allows for freedom of expression and assembly.

Man Charged For Opening Plane Emergency Door, Stabbing Flight Attendant

A Massachusetts man was arrested for allegedly attempting to stab a flight attendant in the neck with a broken metal spoon three times during a flight from Los Angeles to Boston on Monday, after attempting to open an emergency exit door, according to the Justice Department.

Francisco Severo Torres, 33, faces one charge of interference and attempted interference with flight crew members and attendants using a dangerous weapon.

Torres was arrested at Boston Logan International Airport Monday and will remain detained pending a hearing set for Thursday.

According to the Justice Department, during a United Airlines flight from Los Angeles to Boston, the flight crew saw an alarm that a door in the plane had been disarmed and, after inspection, a flight attendant saw the door’s locking handle had been pushed out of the fully locked position and an emergency slide arming lever had been disarmed.

A flight attendant who saw Torres near the door went to talk to Torres about the door, according to the department, who asked if there were cameras showing he had tampered with the door.

The Justice Department said, “According to court documents, the flight attendant then notified the captain that they believed Torres posed a threat to the aircraft and that the captain needed to land the aircraft as soon as possible.”

Soon after, Torres allegedly got out of his seat, mouthing something, before thrusting “towards one of the flight attendants in a stabbing motion with a broken metal spoon, hitting the flight attendant on the neck area three times,” the department said.

Torres was then tackled by other passengers on the flight and was immediately taken into custody after the flight landed.

According to a criminal complaint, Torres told investigators he broke a spoon in half a bathroom on the airplane to use as a weapon. He also told law enforcement that he tried to open the emergency door and “had gotten the idea” to jump out of the plane, according to the complaint.

Torres also told investigators he was trying to defend himself and tried to stab the flight attendant because he believed they were trying to kill him.

LAWRENCE ‘WHO PLAYS THE KOPALA RICH MAN CHARACTER’ FIGHTS WITH MANAGER OVER HARD CASH

By Jackson Mwewa.

The Kopala Rich Man after missing for 24 hours has been found in the streets of Kitwe on the Copperbelt covered in real dirty like a pregnant pig.

According to reports available, Lawrence Lunchenzo, 29, also known as the Kopala Rich Man disappeared on Sunday, 5th March, 2023 in the evening just after playing his rich character at a named night club.

However, information coming fron Lawrence is totally different from what is on many facebook pages, he lamented before a group of young people that found him in the Kitwe Town centre sleeping at the square before Kitwe City Library that the person making money out of his Kopala Rich Man character has stopped giving him the money they agreed upon.

Using deep Bemba, Lawrence told the youths, “nganamweba teti musumine.”

He allegedly jumped on a bus which started off from Lusaka going to Solwezi and hid behind the luggage just to come back home and continue hustling with plastics and carrying loads of greens at the Green Market in town.

When Lawrence was spotted in dirty clothes, many could not resist the temptation of capturing him as they kept on shouting, “Bushe eeko aka aii..”

The boys who first spotted the Kopala Rich Man after seeing vehicles coming and a mob surrounding him, they held him by the hand to leave but could not as another group came saying they found the Kopala Rich Man first.

The two groups continued to push each other until a fierce fight broke out. Punches were all over, bottles and insults.

Lawrence was only trying to cover his head with the hood and his perfume was not different from the 60 kg Hungry Lion Chicken meat they found in Mongu.

Meanwhile, a group of young people after demanding for a lamp some has allowed the Kopala Rich Man to go with the alleged management whose idea is to raise a Zambian Grand P.

Amb. Emmanuel Mwamba Reports State House And UPND Senior Officials To The ACC Over Sacko Mine

0

FROM THE DESK OF AMB. EMMANUEL MWAMBA

Tuesday, 7th March 2023

The Director General
Anti-Corruption Commission,
Anti-Corruption House,
Corner of Katunjila/Cha Cha Cha Road,
P.O. Box 50486,
Lusaka.

INVESTIGATE THE CORRUPTION SAGA IN SACO MINE IN MKUSHI INVOLVING STATE HOUSE AND UPND SENIOR OFFICIALS

Recently, we saw news reports and social-media vidoes of a public protest by youths in Mkushi alleging that a local Copper/Manganese Mine called Sacko Mine was unfairly taken over by officials from UPND in Lusaka and from State House.

The youths further alleged that there was intereference on the mine by State House Special Assistant to the President for Politics, Mr. Levy Ngoma.

In the same video, one of the protestors stated that he had visited the Ministry of Mines and Minerals Development where he discovered that the mine was allegedly owned by the First Lady, Mrs. Mutinta Hichilema and her nephew.

After this protest, we saw drastic actions by both the Police and State House.

Mr. Mubita Nawa, one of the close UPND officials was fetched from Solwezi by the Police and taken to Mkushi.

Police released an official statement where they stated that Mr. Mubita Nawa and another couple, Mr and Mrs. Isaac and Hope Kanguya of Makeni in Lusaka, were arrested on allegations that they had lied to Governement officials that State House had issued instructions to let Mkushi UPND youths take-over the Sacko Mine.

The trio was also accused of fanning protests that saw guards at Sucko Mine beaten and assaulted.

They were charged with two offences of giving false information to a public officer and charges of Assault Occasioning Actual Bodily Harm.

The events occurred between 1st February 2023 and 28th February 2023.

During the same period, on 28th February, 2023 President Hakainde Hichilema, terminated the contract of Ministry of Mines and Minerals Development Permanent Secretary, Mr.Mooya Lumamba.

Lumamba was only recently appointed as Permanent Secretary on September 7, 2022, after his predecessor Dr Sakwiba Musiwa was equally fired.

We have not established the facts behind these dismissals but it is clear that these may have to do with illegal activities occurring at both Muombe Mine in Chembe District and Sacko Mine in Mkushi.

Connected to this, Central Police Commissioner issued a statement that the Police had arrested five poeple who accused the First Lady, Mrs. Mutinta Hichilema of owning Sacko Manganese Mine in Mkushi District.

He named the youths as Evans Bwalya, Dilamonu Royan, Charles Mwansa, Mwiinga Didan and Frederick Bwalya.

The youths have been charged with criminal libel and conduct likely to cause the breach of peace.

Another matter related to the Sacko Mine was the admission by UPND National Youth Chairperson, Mr.Gilbert Liswaniso on 3rd March 2023, when he appeared on Hot FM Radio “Red Hot Breakfast Show”.

During the interview, Mr. Liswaniso confessed that a Chinese national who owns Sucko Mine in Mkushi District, offered him and others shareholding.

The mine is now registered as Ndalumba Minerals Limited.

The details of this confession can be found on this facebook link for Hot FM. http://fb.watch/j6FVqSBuFG/

A quick perusal and search of Patents and Companies Registration Agency (PACRA) Documents show that indeed Mr. Liswaniso of NRC No. 123068/18/1 holds 1,800 shares.

Lusaka UPND Provincial Chairperson, Mr. Obvious Summertone Mwaliteta of NRC 475567/11/1 also owns 1,800 shares.

Of concern however, are the shares owned by Mr. Nixon Chibawe of NRC 810861/11/1, who is the nephew to the First Lady Mrs. Mutinta Hichilema.

Mr. Chibawe is the majority shareholder of ordinary shares amounting to 16,800 shares.

According to Mr. Liswaniso, he said these shares were given without solicitation.

He didn’t explain the circumstances under which Mr. Nixon Chibawe, the nephew to First Lady, Mrs. Mutinta Hichilema, became one of the majority shareholders.

HIGH-LEVEL CORRUPTION

The activities around this mine, the details from PACRA, the harrassment and arrest of citizens and consequently the dismissal of the Permanent Secretary, all show that there is blatant abuse of the law and perpetuation of acts of corruption.

The confession and details so far provided by documents and Mr. Liswaniso, and the activities by the Police, sets serious stage for an urgent corruption investigation as this matter has raised serious questions of bribery corruption, cohesion and abuse of office and has far reaching consequences to regulatory authorities.

It is clear that these shares were given to officials of the ruling party and those associated with State House for the investor to have ownership of the mine guaranteed, to have bottle-necks of exploration and mining licences removed, and to have the investor’s stay in the country through work or residence permits guaranteed.

The investor will likely use public authorities as a lashing whip to challenges facing the mine such as location, size, encroachment and any other existing disputes with authorities and the Community.

Further this presents illegal take-over of the mine by UPND Officials.

The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) states that foreign companies in Africa are heavily pressured to secure their businesses and usually seek to survive through offering bribes, corrupting both public service and politcal party officials.

The Mkushi Mine scandal fits perfectly in this secnario and raises serious corruption elements.

It is perceived that foreign companies need to pay or offering bribes as the “only way to survive” whether as a company or an individual.

Corruption is detrimental to economic, political and social development. It distorts market competition, undermines productivity and ultimately impedes sustainable economic growth.

I hope that your office will investigate and accord this matter serious attention and help prevent corruption and abuse of state power.

‘People of Matero we are sorry that we gave you a mad man Miles Sampa in 2021’- Edgar Lungu at BIGOCA Church

0

By CIC PF Reporter.

EDGAR LUNGU LAUNCHES HIS POLITICAL COME BACK IN MATERO.

Former President Edgar Lungu on Sunday Launched his political comeback in Matero and singlehandedly handpicked a candidate for the parliamentary seat.

Lungu who was at BIGOCA church apologised to Matero residents for having given them a “mad man” in Miles Sampa as MP in 2021 elections.

“I have now chosen this youngman to take over from the mad man,” Lungu told the church leadership as he pointed at Lee Mukupa, a councilor.

When he walked out and informed PF youths, they were upset that could choose Mukupa instead of other PF councilors such as Saulos Mwamba who has been working with them.
“Matero is birth place for PF, so we need to capture the seat even if UPND adopts the mad man Sampa,” Lungu said.

He told the matero people that he has already started assembling his cabinet 2026 after adjusting the mistakes he made in 2021.

Lungu said next week the central committee will conclude on the issue of Miles Sampa who will be sacked and force a by-election.

Mukupa is an aide of BIGOCA Bishop Ndhlovu and has been frequenting Edgar Lungu house for prayers with the Bishop.

“Even Annie Chinyanta is better than Lee. How can Edgar decide on the candidate before even the central committee meeting,” one official complained.

Lungu was accompanied by his close former Minsters Sylvia Chalikosa, Jean Kapata, Raphael Nakachinda and others.

Lungu had released money in advance to Lee to plant youths in Church so that they can cheer him and complain about cost of living.

72 Seized Vehicles Don’t Belong To PF – Former PF SG Davies Mwila

0

72 SEIZED VEHICLES DON’T BELONG TO PF – FORMER PF SG MWILA.

FORMER PF secretary general Davies Mwila says the 72 vehicles that were recently seized by the police do not belong to the former ruling.

Last week, the Zambia Police investigation team seized 72 motor vehicles and one boat which were said to have been found concealed in a private yard in Lusaka West.

Deputy Police Public Relations Officer Danny Mwale disclosed in a statement, Friday, that the motor vehicles, Landcruisers and Prados, were all suspected to be proceeds of crime.

In an interview, Monday, Mwila said it is unfortunate that the UPND is linking any bad thing that happens to PF.

“You have seen that anything that is happening, any failure, anything that is bad, they (UPND) are linking it to PF, which is not good. PF is no longer in power, they wanted power but they are behaving as if they are still in opposition. Those vehicles don’t belong to PF, they are not owned by PF. If surely they are owned by PF, let them come out and tell the Zambian people. Not only that, you remember the vehicles that they confiscated, those are the ones that belong to PF and there was no reason for them to get those vehicles because each political party can source funds to buy vehicles,” he said.

“Them (UPND), have been buying vehicles and no one harassed them when we were in power because we knew where they were getting money, we knew where they were buying these vehicles but no one harassed them. So, what we are saying is that we are in a democracy and UPND must accept that other political parties have to exist. So, on those [72] vehicles, I am saying that they don’t belong to PF. If they really belong to PF, let them come out and expose or inform the Zambian people, that will make sense”.

Mwila wondered why the Anti-Corruption Commission has not summoned him over the vehicles as former secretary general of the party if they indeed belong to PF.

“This issue of just talking, the other week Gary Nkombo was saying ‘no, PF officials got contracts, and they were paid and they never worked’ but he can’t mention the people. Is that the way we are going to lead the country? People must come out and tell the truth, and tell the Zambian people but I can tell you that they are just politicking; [if] they can’t mention, it means they are just politicking. Even on the vehicles, they are just saying it, those are just politics. If they are really serious, they are supposed to name the people that are involved,” said Mwila.

“It is now 1 year 7 months; they have just been talking about the same things, and I have told the people that our colleagues came to fix people and not to fix the economy. Look at the high cost of living, it has gone up and they can’t talk about it, they are talking about issues that are irrelevant to the Zambian people. It is high time that UPND took this country and the Zambian people seriously. Why hasn’t ACC called me on vehicles, I was the Secretary General of the party; they have not called me, which means it is a lie. They are not telling the truth. I have not gone anywhere and moreover, I don’t even have a passport to go out, I am within the country. So, let them call me, and I will explain because those vehicles do not belong to us. You remember, they lied to the Zambian people that we bought vehicles from the Workers’ Compensation, and at last, it was discovered that those vehicles didn’t come to PF”.

Concessionaire to take over collection of toll fees

Concessionaire to take over collection of toll fees

Public-Private-Partnership Concession Agreement for upgrading of 327km of Lusaka-Ndola Dual Carriage-Way and Rehabilitation of 45km of Masangano-Fisenge-Luanshya Road was signed on 28th February 2023.

This is a commercial agreement.

At financial close the contractor/ Concessionaire will take over the collections of tolls and mobilise to begin the construction.

The other day, a Minister was quoted that the contractor will move on site immediately to begin urgent repairs as they will take-over the collection of tolls immediately.

The annual toll fees range from $20million-$30million a year on this road.

Past feasibility studies have shown that the volume of traffic guarantees that $100million-a-year revenue can be generated especially if commercial tolls are applied.

Currently, NRFA is charging K20 the same user-fee that was imposed in 2017 when Zambia commissioned the National Tolling Programme.

PROJECT

The total project cost is USD 649, 976, 167, broken down as follows:

a) USD 577, 383, 758.00 (US$ 577.38 million) is the total cost of construction;

b) USD 1, 000, 000 for working capital;

c) USD 1, 849, 500 for finance costs; and

d) USD 69, 742, 909 (USD 69.74 million) for interest during the construction period.

Here is a window to how much revenue tolls are generating sampled by a parliamentary committee that visited some toll gates.

REPORT OF THE COMMITTEE ON TRANSPORT, WORKS AND SUPPLY FOR THE
FIRST SESSION OF THE THIRTEENTH NATIONAL ASSEMBLY APPOINTED ON
WEDNESDAY, 20TH SEPTEMBER, 2022

SHIMABALA TOLL STATION

The Shimabala toll station was commissioned in 2017 as a class A toll station and was
one of the busiest in the country. It was managed by a station manager supported byadequate staffing levels and security personnel from the Zambia Police Service.

The toll station processed about 9000 vehicles per day and collected revenues of approximately ZMK 9 Million per month.

MPONGWE TOLL STATION

The Mpongwe toll station was categorized in class ‘C’ and was situated on the
Luanshya-Mpongwe road in Copperbelt rural. Being in class C meant that traffic
volumes were extremely low and revenues collected per month did not exceed ZMK
330,000. Further, the station used a small building as office space and did not have
booths from where tolls could be paid. This meant that clients had to step out of the
vehicles to pay toll fees irrespective of the whether condition.

SABINA TOLL STATION

Opened in 2021 and categorized in class ‘B’, the Sabina toll station was situated on the
Kitwe-Sabina Road. The toll station was yet to be fully completed as it did not have a
parameter wall and paved car park. The station also required slight expansion of the
receiving lanes as it experienced congestion during peak periods. The Committee learnt
that due to the narrow receiving lanes there had been an accident involving a truck,
which left a booth completely damaged and a toll collector injured.

Most of the traffic on the Sabina road consisted of heavy goods vehicles, which were deviated from Kitwe’s Independence road leading to the WMC toll station.

The traffic volume therefore, at the Sabina toll gate was about 2300 per day with a revenue return of ZMK 6.6 Million per month.

WISLON MOFYA CHAKULYA TOLL STATION

Opened in 2019 WMC toll station was classified in category A and was able to handle a daily traffic volume of about 10,000 per day, with approximate monthly collections of about ZMK 7 Million.

MICHAEL CHILUFYA SATA TOLL PLAZA

Michael Chilufya Sata (MCS) Toll Plaza
The MCS plaza was opened in 2018 and is located on the Ndola-Kitwe dual carriage
way.

The station is the largest and is classified in category ‘A’. About 9,900 motor vehicles passed through the toll gate on a daily basis with 30 to 34 per cent of them being heavy goods vehicles destined for the mines and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

The station generated revenues of about ZMK 12 Million per month.Visit to Kafulafuta Toll Plaza

KAFULAFUTA TOLL

Kafulafuta toll station was opened in 2016 on the Kapiri-Ndola road. The toll station, which was in category ‘A’ generated about ZMK9.9 Million per month in toll fees.

MANYUMBI TOLL PLAZA

The Committee learnt that Manyumbi toll plaza was one of the first to be opened in
2016 and handled about 4500 vehicles per day with monthly collections of about ZMK
9.6 Million. The road to the toll station was in a deplorable state as it had never
received any maintenance since the plaza was erected.

NOT THE BEST DEAL, CANCEL LUSAKA-NDOLA DEAL

Zambians are agreeable that the Lusaka-Ndola dual carriage way must be DONE as soon as practicable. Both lives and goods have been lost incessantly on this road over the past years. “Renowned Comedian Mr Sinkala Brighton and Businessman Carlos Sakangombe are among the many that have lost their lives on this road.”

The immediate uproar amongst our people is on the HOW the deal must be STRUCTURED and on WHO is getting maximum BENEFITS from it. Zambians don’t want a repeat of the KCM-VEDANTA or the MOPANI-GLENCORE deals that have principally benefited foreign companies than Zambians.

The minister of Infrastructure, Honourable Charles Lubasi Milupi in his clarifications on the deal has made it clear that the contractor will borrow money from NAPSA and Workers Compensation and then share the toll fees with Government for 22 years after the initial 3 years of construction.

The above deal would have been more ideal if the concessionaire was bringing his OWN MONEY. The “local borrowing aspect” especially from government wholly owned entities AUTOMATICALLY REMOVES the aspect of a THIRD PARTY and the 22 years collection of toll fees concession by a private foreign company.

Hence our position as GPZ, that NAPSA must hire directly a contractor to construct the road for them so that the toll fees amassed remain in Zambia and for Zambians as they (NAPSA) have done on shopping malls and other businesses. That will be the best deal for the Government and the people of Zambia under the circumstances.

With feasibility studies putting the commercial tolling value on the Lusaka-Ndola road projected at $100 million a year once constructed and adding 3 new toll gates to the already existing ones. The foreign companies will recover and pay NAPSA within a few years and live to recover an estimated $1.3 BILLION IN PROFITS. Surely that is not the best of deals a government can go in when money is locally sourced.

It is for this reason that we call on the President Hakainde Hichilema and his Government to cancel the current Lusaka-Ndola dual carriage way deal and replace it with the best one possible.

MWAMBA’S PF CORRUPTION AMNESIA

MWAMBA’S PF CORRUPTION AMNESIA

One wonders, when there was serious looting of our country’s wealth, where was the voice of our so-called ex pf diplomat Mwamba ?

When the ministry of defense was looted by the PF officials, where was the voice of Emmanuel Mwamba? Between 2011 and 2021 over $300 million dollars of food supply contract at ministry of defence was given to companies belonging to Pf big wigs and their families.

Where was his voice when the PF government under lungu acquired the overpriced Gulf stream jet through corruption?

When the public heard about the costs of high-profile projects under Pf which were inflated by as much as 200 percent, with the extra money going into their pockets, where was our so-called ex pf diplomat’s voice?

In 2019, the money laundering and terrorist financing trends report of Zambia’s Financial Intelligence Centre disclosed that public officials had influenced the awarding of contracts. Corruption linked to public sector procurement was a major contributor to proceeds of crime. Where was his voice to speak on behalf of Zambians?

In 2018, the Financial Intelligence Centre reported acts of corruption estimated at about $284 million. That same year, Finland, Ireland, Sweden and the UK withheld aid worth about $34 million because they were concerned about corruption and financial mismanagement. Where was his voice ?

The Pf party’s only agenda was to loot this great country of ours, they talk about rebranding ,indeed they are doing so in order to continue where they left off if they were trusted with power.

Next time Emmanuel Mwamba you want to come out as a saint and pretend that your party did nothing wrong, reflect on the much suffering you and your people have caused to the lives of Zambians. Focus on your new corruption investigation in regards to how you acquired so much property as a civil servant.

Zambia is in safe hands under President Hakainde Hichilema, and there is more good things to come in the year 2026.

MILES SAMPA TAKES REGISTRAR OF SOCIETIES AND ATTORNEY GENERAL TO COURT OVER PF

He writes:-
WRIT SUMMON

Definition of the term writ in common law refers to a legal document issued by a court that orders a person or entity to perform or to cease performing a specific action or deed.

Dear Patriotic Front (PF) Members,

Today through my lawyers I submitted into the High Court a Writ summon on the Registrar of Society and the Attorney General with the following pleas:

1) The Court should order the Registrar of Society (ROE) to execute its constitutional duty by causing democratic intra party elections in the PF party for its president and new 25 members of the central committee (MCC) to be Elected and * 3 Appointed* as per the PF constitution.
I have further submitted that the current Appointed 80 MCCs are null and void as non of them had a vote cast on them ahead of other over 100 applicants in April 2021 or appointed (only 3 allowed) by a constitutionally authorized person.

2) That the Registrar of Societies or their appointed non political agent (NGO) should prepare and conduct the PF extra ordinary conference to ensure a free and fair democratic Elections for the party president and new 25 members of the central committee (MCCs).

3) That within 30 days of judgement, said elections should be conducted in Lusaka or Kabwe convenient for travel purposes for all PF delegates from all the 10 provinces of Zambia.

4) That Registrar of Societies ensures only bonafide PF officials in the structures countrywide and not thugs need attend the elective congress.

Above I have prayed into the High Court to ensure that the institution PF to which I am a member allows the majority owners of the party in all 10 provinces of Zambia to exercise their right to freely choose top leaders of their choice.

As for the office of party President it has been vacant for close to 2 years now. I am asking into Court that the Registry of Societies ensure the grassroot in structures are allowed without undue influence or intimidation to freely elect a president of their choice whoever that might turn out to be after counting all the votes that they will cast on the day of the general conference next few weeks.
Amen🙏🏾

Yours Sincerely… in the protection of both the PF Constitution and the National Constitution

PENDING ARREST OF AUDITOR GENERAL, A SCHEME TO COOK UP FIGURES – NAKACHIINDA

PENDING ARREST OF AUDITOR GENERAL, A SCHEME TO COOK UP FIGURES – NAKACHIINDA
…as he alleges that it is all about tribal cleansing targeting over 400 senior govt officials

By New Dawn Reporter
CRIMINALS in the UPND are scheming to affect an arrest on the Auditor General Dick Sichembe to stop him from revealing the 2022 Audit Report which exposes glaring and grave abuse of public funds.

Patriotic Front (PF) Chairperson for Information and Publicity, Raphael Nakachiinda says the Auditor General is being threatened with an arrest because of the grave revelations in the 2022 Auditors Report which is yet to be released.

Nakachiinda reveals that among the pressing issues in the report are the audit query of the Ministry of Defence and illegal cancellation of hunting concessions.

Speaking at the Lusaka Magistrate Court grounds, Monday, the former Minister also revealed what he described as tribal cleansing in various government departments and ministries targeted at those belonging to the Northern and Eastern regions.

“The auditor general is being threatened with an arrest because there are grave revelations that are contained in the 2022 Auditor General’s Report to do with the auditing of the Defence Forcea, to do with the cancellation of the hunting concessions, to do with the over 400 government workers at the level of Director and Assistant Director that have been relegated to Cabinet office and they have continued to receive salaries without being charged or told the reasons why they are being relegated and surrendered to Cabinet,” he said.

He said all he knew and what Zambians should know is that, the act was aimed at tribal cleansing.

“What we know is that there has been tribal cleansing and the auditor general has been picking those reckless expenditures that we expect that government should answer to. So, what they have revised is now to use bogus allegations against these officers.”

Nakachiinda has since warned that more revelations are coming of the criminality of the UPND government in a way they have been handling public funds.

“They have cleansed the Auditor General’s office, two deputies have already been arrested and removed from office. They are targeting the Auditor General, you are going to see as we move forward, more revelations of the criminality of this government in a way they have been handling public funds. This we should not tolerate. As Zambians, let us wake up,” he said.

Dr. Sichembe has since been summoned to appear before ACC.

SIMPLE EXPLANATION ON THE NDOLA-LUSAKA DUAL CARRIAGE WAY

0

SIMPLE EXPLANATION ON THE NDOLA-LUSAKA DUAL CARRIAGE WAY

Basically, what is happening is this:
1. Macro Ocean Investment Consortium, a group of Chinese companies (including AVIC) has been awarded a tender to build the Road;

2. Macro Ocean Investment Consortium is a *construction* company. It needs to be paid by someone in order to construct a road;

3. Instead of the Government getting a loan to pay for the Lusaka-Ndola road, Government has decided that Macro Ocean Investment Consortium should get a loan from NAPSA and Workers Compensation, among other institutions, build the road, maintain it, raise money through toll fees and repay the loan with interest.

4. Macro Ocean Investment Consortium will pay back the loan with interest to NAPSA and Workers Compensation Fund at a profit. This profit is good for Zambia. There is no loan obtained to build a road in Zambia that has resulted in a direct profit to Zambian public institutions. The monies have always been borrowed from foreign lenders. These are the ones that are making the profit and, in addition, the Government has to buy US Dollars when paying back the loans, which is the main reason why the Kwacha is depreciating. Every time the Government makes a payment in Dollars our Kwacha weakens.

5. Under this new arrangement, there will be no Dollars that will be going outside when this loan is repaid. The money is retained in Zambia to the benefit of the Zambian workers, who are the direct beneficiaries of NAPSA and the other public body.

6. The concession period of 25 years is good for us the road users. It means that toll fees do not have to be increased. Reduced concession period would result in increasing toll fees.

7. After 25 years, Macro Ocean Investment Consortium will have paid NAPSA and the other lenders for the Lusaka-Ndola road and will pull out of the road, living it in good condition in the hands of the Zambian government.
8. On the monies borrowed from outside we are paying more than we will pay through toll fees. Every time we service our loans, our currency depreciates, fuel goes up and everything else becomes expensive.

9. I think it’s time we embrace doing things differently. We can’t do things the same way over and over and expect different results.

GOVT STATEMENT ON HOMOSEXUALITY

0

PRESS STATEMENT BY THE MINISTER OF INFORMATION AND MEDIA AND CHIEF GOVERNMENT SPOKESPERSON, HON. CHUSHI KASANDA, MP, ON HOMOSEXUALITY

Government finds as irresponsible the behaviour by a group of people that at the weekend marched at Lusaka’s showgrounds, chanting and carrying placards in support of homosexuality.

As Government, we do not condone this behaviour and anyone who decides to go against the law will not go unpunished.

I further wish to stress that homosexuality is prohibited in Zambia as provided in Sections 155 and 157 of the Penal Code, Chapter 87 of the Laws of Zambia.

Government is concerned that the group decided to use the permit that was given in good faith by Police to raise awareness against women and girls sexual and Gender Based Violence to champion an illegal and criminal cause.

Police have since instituted investigations in the matter to bring the culprits to book.

Further, Government wishes to remind the public that as a Christian Nation, they have a duty to uphold the Christian values of morality, decency and human dignity in the manner they conduct themselves.

As such, citizens are advised to desist, at all times, any conduct or behavior, that is inimical to our Christian values.

Government reiterates its commitment to promoting and upholding national values and principles as enshrined in the Republican Constitution.

LGBTQ COMMUNITY AND POLICE – DO NOT CONTINUE TO DARE ZAMBIANS

6 March 2023

On 4th March, we witnessed a march by some LGBTQ people being escorted by the Zambia Police.

On 5th March the Deputy Police Public Relations Officer, Danny Mwale, issued a statement to the effect that the Zambia Police were in fact duped by the group. The statement read in part “it has come to the attention of the Zambia Police Service that during the said March-past, conveners exhibited a different agenda from the one whose permit they sought for. The agenda seemed to have highlighted issues of LGBTQ (Homosexuality).”

As New Heritage Party, we wish to address both the Zambia Police as well as the LGBTQ Community regarding this matter.

To the Zambia Police
The New Heritage Party wish to express our deep concern and dismay at your handling of this case and wish to state from the outset that you are belittling and insulting the intelligence of Zambians. If we were to come and ask for a Police escort to deposit large amounts of money at the bank, but when we get to the bank we instead start to rob the bank, would the Police continue to provide us with security?

Once your officers saw that the agenda was different from that applied for, why did they not pull back and alert others about what was going on? You, more than the citizens of this great nation, are trained in law and peace keeping and know that when a citizenry is as vexed as Zambians currently are, any seeming provocation, even if unrelated to the economy, can bring unwanted consequences.

Stop endangering our lives.

To the LGBTQ Community.
We understand that we all commit all manner of sin. Those that sin, however, do so privately. Why should you flaunt yourselves? Why do you feel that you must push your depravity on our society? What do you hope to achieve? Have you seen adulterers, thieves, murderers marching down the street trying to force people to accept them and their behaviors?

Stop pushing the boundaries. Please do not think for a single minute that we, as a society, will accept and applaud your behaviors. Keep your behaviors to yourselves. We have massive problems in this nation without you adding to what we are already experiencing. This daring of the people of Zambia needs to stop and it needs to stop now.

Your behavior does not portray who we are culturally as well as a Christian Nation.

President Hakainde Hichilema’s Repeated Interference With Large-scale Procurements- Amb. Emmanuel Mwamba

President Hakainde Hichilema’s Repeated Interference With Large-scale Procurements

By Amb. Emmanuel Mwamba

When President Hakainde Hichilema said he was concerned about lack of positive discrimination for local producers of fertiliser, we should have paid attention at this sudden change of heart towards local businesses.

Because he has adversely discriminated against local enterpises, refused to clear outstanding arrears owed to suppliers, contractors and consultants under the guise that an audit was underway and jas demonstrated keenes to shut down local companies such as SAVENDA.

On the other hand, his Government has paid arreas or debts owed to foreign interests companies such as First Quantum and Maamba Colleries.

Recently the cash-strapped Mopani Copper Mines borrowed $15million from a local bank to fund and jack-up mining production and operations, but strangely, it chose to pay $9million of the $15million to Copperbelt Energy Corporation PLC for outsanding electricity debt.

So when President Hichilema expressed concerns that there was no positive discrimination in the government fertiliser tender in favour of local businesses. He proceeded to cancel the tender, we should have been alert at the sudden change of heart.

He meant United Capital Fertilisers!

Because last year, he cancelled a legitimate fertiliser tender in which six local companies won the tender.

Local agro companies and commodity importers and traders; Samar Agro Investments, Stutone Investments, Conchak Investments, Alpha Commodities, Agrizam Investments and Evergreen Fertilisers emerged as best evaulated bidders under the open national bidding.

The tender was immediately cancelled.

This $330million fertilisers tender was later awarded to companies of mostly foreign interest; ETG, FSG, United Capital Fertiliser, Alpha Commodities and Agrizam to supply, deliver, warehouse and distribute the fertiliser.

This outcome was borne of President Hichilema repeated interferences and cancellations with the fertiliser procurement.

The process lay corrupt, bungled, botched and has consequently threatened food security for 2023.

SINGLE-SOURCING UNITED CAPITAL FERTILISER

Defying clear provisions of the Public Procurement Act of 2020 which obliges Ministry of Agriculture to conduct the competitive Open National Bidding, it has been disclosed that the Ministry has been directed to single-source or under direct bidding and choose United Capital Fertiliser for the supply of basal fertiliser under the guise that Government was promoting local manufacturers.

Only Urea, or top dressing procurement will be subjected to competion.

First of all, all “manufacturers” of fertilsers in Zambia are merely blending the product.

If Government’s concern about promoting loacal manufacturers and if this was true, the
Nitrogen Chemicals of Zambia was going to be given utmost priority and another private manufacturer, Zambia Fetiliser Comoany would have been given similar opportunities as given to United Capital Fertiliser.

Not learning from the 2022 crisis, last week President Hichilema announced that he had cancelled the 2023 tender process on the purported allegations that local producers of fertilsers were not given priority or favoured ( positive discrimination).

Wonderful Group of Companies has emerged as a prominent Chinese company in Zambia which owns United Fertilisers Company.

It has also set up of Boffar Machinery and Equipment(supplies medical equipment), Marcopolo Tiles Company( manufacturer of porcelain tiles), Mupika Sericulture and Silk Company ( set up of mulbery plantstion with the qim of producing silk fabrics from silkworms) and United Capital Feriliser Comoany with the aim of manufacturing closed-circuit fertiliser and amonia plant.

We are aware that the Anti-Corruption Commission was pursuing two ministers and senior officials in the corruption allegations in the fertilser procurement of 2022.

The investigations immediately went cold for one simple reason; State House calls the corrupt shots.

Zambians must brace themselves for another farming season of blunders and corruption.

THE CHURCH MUST RISE AND FIGHT THE DEPRAVITY OF HOMOSEXUALITY- Rev Chilekwa

THE CHURCH MUST RISE AND FIGHT THE DEPRAVITY OF HOMOSEXUALITY

PROPHETIC ROLE OF THE CHURCH IN ZAMBIA:

06/03/2023

The Church in this Country is meant to be the hope for the Nation. It is therefore the prophetic role of the Church in Zambia to witness for Christ and also address social issues with great clarity and urgency. It is the holy duty of Ekklesia to keep in check and hold accountable those in public office in interest of God’s people. It is critical for the Church to be seen as situating itself as a community in contrast to the established institutions of society.

Today, many clerics in Zambia have remained publicly quiet on moral issues of the day such as homosexuality and corruption as if not to appear too controversial or too political but it’s important to remind the servants of God on the need for a strong prophetic voice in the Nation. The growing silence by some senior clergymen has resulted in public debate often left to those without a Biblical worldview making the political arena extremely toxic and gender anarchy having a field day. The consequences of this passivity is contributing to the unraveling of the Zambian civil society. It is time to end the silence, speak truth to power and align our society to God.

Most politicians in this Country talk endlessly about “development,” but their intention is typically a ruse to implement a top-down liberal agenda. They allow for instance homosexuality and corrupt activities that undermine people’s collective faith in God, cultural heritage, morality, godly values and support exploitation of natural resources in favour of foreigners. While a few Church stakeholders may be speaking out about these issues, the numbers need to grow for a greater voice.

The Church in Zambia shouldn’t be comfortable with business as usual at a time when we need to lean on God and challenge the ever increasing moral decay, corruption and poverty in our society. People are now beginning to realize that things are not as they expected, and they are looking up to God. The Church can not silently play it safe at this critical hour and a tipping point. Its time to speak out on core moral and economic problems in our Country. While its not going to be easy, no servant of God in Zambia worth their calling should fear or feel intimidated when they label you political for speaking the truth. Zambia need the grace and voice of the Church. God help us.

WHAT CAUSED UNIP TO DIE (Timely Lesson for PF)- Dr Edgar Ng’oma/ Philosopher/Political Analyst

*WHAT CAUSED UNIP TO DIE (Timely Lesson for PF)

Sunday 5th March, 2023

Author: Dr Edgar Ng’oma/ Philosopher/Political Analyst.

Without fear or favor

■ …kindly check the coincidence on the magic last number 6 in the two election years 1996 & 2026.Those who know you know the meaning. It’s a wait and see situation.
—-‐——————————–
…..let’s examine the comparative symptomatic facts between UNIP & PF behavior as we critically analyze what led to the complete obliteration of UNIP in Zambia from the political landscape of the country, although it being the first party to form government in 1964 and ruled for 27 years uninterrupted, but unfortunately is

dead today with no representative anywhere in the government.

Again let me apologize in advance to those that this analysis may unsettle and cause them the stress, to you kindly find it in heart to understand that I am a mirror in politics, I reflect the political activity and interpret it for those involved. Just like a thermometer measuring temperature on objects as required. Kindly take heart, I mean well for all of us.

THE ANALYSIS

The belief in one single man that without him there is no PF, that this and that single man is PF and PF is that single man is a very dangerous philosophy which has the potential to crush any political party in this case the Patriotic Front party. This same philosophy of wamuyayaya (life President) and kumulu lesa pansi pano Kaunda, (God rules in haven and Dr. Kenneth David Kaunda rules on earth) killed United National Independence party (UNIP) under the leadership of the founding father of the nation Dr. Kenneth Kaunda who ruled Zambia as President for 27 years uninterrupted and caused UNIP go into extinction.Today UNIP cannot even win a local government election, because of centering all power in one man and his Sons.
Even if today UNIP has changed leadership to an ordinary citizen who is
a Religious Spiritual Leader like MCP of Malawi led by Lazarus Chakwera who won the former ruling political party elections in 2020 in Malawi, for UNIP it is too late now because the party is already dead. To take a leaf 🍃 from what happens before the death of a person, it was better to change UNIP leadership when the party was feeling headache, but now when the medical doctor examining the autopsy has declared it dead and the mortuary attendant has secured the remains in the cold room for relatives to come and collect it for burial, and then some one prescribes the right medicine hoping the person would respond, it becomes a practical comedy/joke for the onlookers in this case the people of Zambia 🇿🇲, they have unfortunately been laughing quietly.

I warned PF in 2017/2019 when I saw President Lungu fire Kaizer Zulu his Political Advisor and replaced him with a man who had verbally abused him on Social media more than anybody had defamed him. In his insults he even dedicated a book insulting President Lungu. I also saw so many other people who defected from MMD and UNIP who I know them as undertakers, upon seeing them closer to President Lungu, that is when using my 4 eyes I concluded without doubt that President Lungu was being escorted out of state house to allow for President Hichilema to come in.

DEEP ANALYSIS ON THE EMINATE DEATH OF PF.

When MMD under the leadership Fredrick Jacob Titus Chiluba (FTJ) as President took over power in 1991 after defeating super Kenny(Dr. Kenneth David Kaunda) and his United National Independence Party (UNIP), in a decisive highly contested election of 1991 where MMD formed government ending a 27 years autocratic one party rule system ushering in a democratic dispensation which is until today is the system of governance which is regulated by the rule of law.

MMD under President FTJ Chiluba made a lot of sweeping changes to the government left by UNIP. One of the biggest sweeping changes which FTJ made effected was the privatization of state owned companies and institutions. About 90% of state owned companies were privatized leaving a lot of people working for those companies jobless . This loss of jobs and closure of most of those companies had ripple effect, such that a lot of people suffered harsh economic hardships and such that about 60% of citizens regretted removing KK/Super Kenny and they started calling for his return to power 🔋.

“This cry of the people in 1996 for Super Kenny to return from political retirement to active politics to restle power from the MMD who had defeated him is exactly what is repeating itself in Zambia today where PF wants to get back power using the defeated Leader Edgar Chagwa Lungu citing similar reasons of economic hardship where people feel PF under the leadership of former President Edgar Chagwa Lungu were better because atleast fuel, electricity and mealie meal which is Zambia’s staple food was cheaper and affordable than it is today under the New Dawn Government under the leadership of Hakainde Hichilema.”

So, Super Kenny was enticed to rejoin active politics in a similar manner what is happening to Former President Edgar Lungu today, being lured into contesting the 12th August 2026 election.

Fast forward; Super Kenny succumbed to the call for him to re-contest the Presidency in 1996 and I see Former PF President Lungu following suite.

I know it is exactly 27 years ago today in 2023 when Supper Kenny led the death of his political party in 1996. Those who were not there then, or were young together with those who have forgotten how super Kenny killed UNIP , here is how;

FTJ Chiluba who was the incumbent president of Zambia at the time for from 1991 to 1996 for a five year term, who was a self acclaimed Political Engineer hatched out a plan to stop Super Kenny from contesting that election and he did so by making sure the name of Super Kenny does not appear on the ballot paper by tampering with an eligibility parental clause in the constitution of ZAMBIA.
In summary the clause which was adjusted to bar Super Kenny from participating in the election stated that;

” For a candidate to qualify to contest as President, his Parents must be Zambian citizen by birth! “

That was it! Super Kenny nailed because both his parents hailed from Nkhotakota in Malawi and the father came as a missionary at Lubwa mission in Chinsali district now in Muchinga Province of Zambia. However, Super Kenny himself was born in Zambia 🇿🇲 and he was a citizen of Zambia by birth.

Aftre being barred from contesting the 1996 general and Presidential election Super Kenny got incensed and sort international community intervention, but international community said they could not interfere in matters that had the potential to undermine a sovereign state. Then what does super Kenny do next? He went straight on a suicide mission by getting a rope and hang both himself together with the party he led UNIP by boycotting the entire general election thinking that the MMD government was going to change their mind to allow him to contest the presidency, MISTAKE!

President FTJ Chiluba then said in a statement he made, to reply to Super Kenny boycott!

” In a democratic dispensation the constitution provides for citizens to respect a democratic right of every individual/citizen, whether he wants to participate in an election or not, we will respect their democratic right, in this case democratic right of Dr. Kenneth David Kaunda and his party UNIP not to participate in the 1996 general election.
However, for those of us who want to participate in this election, we too our democratic right should be equally respected.”
end of quote.

And true to Dr. Kaunda”s directive, ( leadership centred on One man), both UNIP candidates standing on parliamentary ticket and municipality local government ticket as candidates, boycotted the 1996 general election, and the day of casting a vote President FTJ Chiluba and the MMD turned it into field day by sweeping clean the entire election with a land slide victory. UNIP had died MHSRIEP.

Today PF members and their sympathizers are in serious conversation to entice Former President Edgar Chagwa Lungu to re-contest the 2026 Presidential election, and like Super Kenny was told, he too is being told he would easily win the presidency in 2026 if he contested by a wide margin, why ? because in their persuasion they are advancing reasons such as;

under the UPND presidency the cost of living has become extremely expensive as compared to the time when he(ECL) was President.

Very true, true the cost of living is higher today than it was during PF regime, but who has told the PF that all people who voted for the UPND voted for them because they wanted the cost of living to be lower?

Let PF know today from this writer’s analysis after interviewing a lot of people why they voted for UPND, their is that, most people who voted for UPND and Bally (President Hakainde Hichilema) did so just to remove PF party from government, just to see to it that the ills they experienced under the PF were removed out of site together with its instigator PF party, because the citizens were fade up of the un-ruly cadrerism weird behavior where cadres were more powerful than state police, and NOT what PF is thinking were the reasons. Also among the many ills were gassing and arrogance (Kusamwa) that was being exhibited by both cadres and PF leadership. For example this statement here;

” ( Wiomba mwibala, alalya mwibala) meaning; he who work in a perfume factory has to smell the aroma of the perfume long after he has left the perfume factory.”

If you know you know the meaning of this statement which was made by the sitting PF President who they have enticed to re-contest the 2026 election, he said this while addressing a press conference at State House in Zambia.

FREE ADVICE & CAUTION.

Remember what political engineering FTJ did to prevent Super Kenny from contesting the 1996 general election? In the case of Former President Edgar Chagwa Lungu it will be very simple…. those who know , you know why.

In conclusion, my advice to PF and its leadership is simple; Allow all those who have paid to contest party Presidential election in an intra party democracy system do so without intimidation and interference.

“Let the electrol college hold free and fair election. President Edgar Chagwa Lungu for the love and respect for PF Founding Father Michael Chilufya Sata, so that his Party does not die a sudden death in 2026 when your name might miss on the ballot paper, kindly Let go the seat of President for any other possible succesor who should not be your daughter/Son or relative but any other person the convention will chose without your influence. After the convention has chosen a leader of their choice, kindly support who ever emerges winner. You will be more respected to remain a States man for young politicians to seek your wise counsel. Remember that you are the only surviving Former President in Zambia today, 5 others are all late and peacefully resting at Embassy Park in Lusaka”.

To PF cadres, my advice to you is guard your party jealously, Do not allow greedy, selfishness steal your heritage and future.
This advice is free, one can choose to take it or start calling this writer names for both I will be grateful.

TO UPND & LEADERSHIP -ADVICE

PF with Driver Lungu want to repurchase their antique motor vehicle because they feel you are not looking after it well, especially that they can see the spare parts they put to this vehicle are still intact, they badly want it back because they are walking on foot these days without the vehicle which you are driving now.

My humble advice to UPND leadership is; kindly e exceedingly alert!, open your eyes wider to secure our prestigious antique motor Vehicle from car thieves. Motivate the security guards guarding it, especially so that the one you have put as second in charge of all of your security guards is demotivating and frustrating them, he is seemingly not relating well with security guards supervisors. Kindly caution him the dangers of frustrating guards. If I am not clear, I can be reached easily.

Remember what happened to both Super Kenny and FTJ? they woke up one morning in a panic !!. Let’s prevent history from repeating itself by motivating the morale of security guards looking after this prestigious antique vehicle.

I will emphasize again to Bally, for your motor vehicle to take us to the land of milk and honey, kindly take your Antique motor Vehicle to the garage for service, remove counterfeit spare parts left by PF, buy your own genuine parts and replace them immediately, because time is not your best ally.

I submit.

Don’t Insult the Intelligence of Zambians: The law breakers enjoyed Police escort throughout

0

By Rev Chilekwa M Ndola, Zambia

The alleged summoning of the Sistah Sistah Foundation Zambia by the Zambia Police may be an attempt to soften the hearts of citizens and cover up to make people feel Police is doing something about it when in fact not, but Police should know that the Zambian people are very intelligent and can read in between the lines.

The law breakers enjoyed Police escort throughout, where was Police intelligence before and during such a vice?

Why was it easy and quick to arrest the likes of Dr Brian Sampa a Zambian citizen who was simply protesting against homosexuality in defence of the Republican Constitution and our Christian heritage and you keep dragging your feet to act on reported homosexuality cases? What really is going on around this issue of homosexuality under the watch of the New Dawn Administration in Zambia?

We challenge the Police Command to arrest the offenders for attempting to mislead Police and recommend for the deregistration of that user friendly Foundation meant to compromise good morals of our children in Zambia.

Police, please don’t tell us that you have summoned the conveners of the March-past in order to ascertain why the event was turned into a forum for championing homosexuality, simply act. What do you take the citizens for, dull or what? Arrest the offenders or demote the Lusaka OC.

We can’t have a Police Command that can easily be deceived by a small clique of citizens sponsored to compromise the law.

Pentecostal Assemblies of God (PAOGZ) General General Secretary, Rev Brian Bwalya has condemned the protest match that took place on Saturday in which a gay agenda was revealed.

He stated that it was highly deceitful for the organizers to purport that the march was about a different cause but allow it be hijacked by gay activists and elements.

Rev. Bwalya said the organisers had a duty to ensure that the purpose of the march was not lost of hijacked as disclosed by the parameters of the Police Permit.

He also expressed shock that the match was supervised and policed by the Zambia Police officers who allowed it to descend into illegalities.

Rev. Bwalya wondered why the Police did not stop the march after it descended into misconduct and vulgar language being sung and the display of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Queer (LGBTQ) material.

Below are the main demands by the PAOGZ.

● Government must state its official and defnitive position on the LGBTQ Agenda.

● How did the Police allow the LGBTQ protest to take place?

● Why did the Police allow LGBTQ colours and vulgar language to be used in their presence?

● there is an attempt to test the waters to decriminalize homosexuality. It’s time for Government to tighten laws that to prohibit homosexuality.

● Sad to note that since August 2021, gay rights activistism had increased without restraint.

● Zambia remains a Christian Nation and the sanctity of national values must not be lost or perverted.

MUNDUBILE GETS SUSPICIOUS OVER PRAYER FOR JUDGE MUMA TO DIE

Monday, 6th March 2023

Leader of the Opposition in Parliament Brian Mundubile has called on Zambians to respect judges, as the Judiciary is ‘The Third Estate’ in the governance of the country.

Mr. Mundubile, a PF Presidential Candidate, said this as a result of false speculations recently of published reports, that Mongu High Court Judge, Wifred Muma had attempted to commit suicide.

He said, Judge Muma’s body was not found and yet some people said that he had committed suicide.

“As a people, we have to think deeply around this because it has raised a lot of suspicion because there are people that were very sure that Judge Muma would be found dead somewhere,” he said.

Mr. Mundubile said some sections of society were sure of Judge Muma’s demise as reported that he had committed suicide.

Recently, Mongu High Court Judge Wilfred Muma is alleged to have been rescued from the Zambezi River after what police described as attempted suicide.

“As a Legal Practitioner, myself, I feel duty bound to comment on stories surrounding Judge Muma. This whole matter should have been handled better starting with investigations and if at all he needed to appear in court. We are not dealing with an ordinary person but a Judge of the High Court,” he said.

Mr. Mundubile said Judge Muma was an individual, who on behalf of the State, convicted a number of dangerous criminals making the State duty bound to give him protection at all times.

“If at all the allegations against this individual who at the same time is a judge, there is a way that such matters can be handled so that should he be found innocent, he should be able to assume his position and discharge his functions with diligence and respect from those appearing before him,” he said.

Mr. Mundubile said from the way that the matter has been handled, it was as if Judge Muma had already been judged, and the matter determined and found guilty.

“It is as if those that are handling his matter believe that he would not go back to the bench and practice law. We are at a time when we have to respect the Judiciary of Zambia,” he said.

Mr. Mundubile called on stakeholders to respect judges because of the distinguished role they play in upholding Zambia’s Constitutional Democracy.

“We were surprised to wake up to the news that Judge Muma had committed suicide. The source of that information was very strange especially to us that are close to him. We wondered where that source of information was coming from. To date, we don’t know where that source of information came from. That has raised a lot of suspicion,” he said.

Mr. Mundubile added that, this was a scheme to intimidate Judges to erode their independence and impartiality in the discharge of their functions.

“We expect that government will take it up seriously to institute investigations and explain to Zambians why there was falsehood that has continued to torment Judge Muma and his family. If at all the investigative wings would get to the bottom of this to know why some people would want to harm Judge Muma,” he said.

A WOMAN of Chibolya Township in Lusaka is nursing serious wounds at the University Teaching Hospitals (UTH) after her husband tortured her by inserting one of his crutches into her private parts.

The victim has had her flesh from her private part exposed and can not control her urine due to the injuries she sustained during the torture.

The victim is also nursing general body pains and a swollen face after husband identified as Warren Mizinga hit her all over her body with his crutch before he inserted it in her private part.

The torture which happened on February 24, 2023 is the second that the victim has allegedly suffered in the hands of Mizinga.

Zambia Police Deputy Public Relations officer Danny Mwale confirmed the incident saying Mizinga was in police custody and is charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

Mwale said Mizinga 35 is a second-time offender who was arrested and charged for a similar offense last year.

He said Annie Mukuka 27, of Chibolya escorted the victim to Chibolya Police station where she lodged a complaint that her husband assaulted her.

“The victim sustained deep cut on the scalp , swollen face, and injuries on the private parts. Fists and a walking stick were used to insert in her private parts.

“The suspect was last year arrested for the similar offense and was convicted 6 months suspended sentence. Barely six months after this, the accused reconciled with the victim when he knew he had hidden intentions. The woman was last year injured in the same manner when he inserted a walking stick in her private parts and hit her in the similar style of inflicting injuries on the victim” Mwale said.

A visit to UTH found a nurse attending to the victim who was visibly in pain and had a swollen face, legs and complained of general body pains.

Mwenda was admitted to the hospital on February 23, 2023.

“I truly love my husband, but look at me now, this Is the second time am being admitted because of him inserting his walking stick into my private part. I cant even control my urine as you can see. My body has bruises and is disfigured. But this time around, I pray he does not get released from jail. I want him to pay because he only wants to kill me” she said.

While the victim struggled to speak, her sister Annie Mukuka who was found at her bedside chipped in and narrated how the whole incident happened.

Mukuka said her sister has three children with her husband and that he (husband) is a very insecure man because of his condition.

She said that on the material day, the victim phoned her and told her that she was dying and needed to be rushed to the hospital.

“I went to her house, she was bleeding from her private part and her body was swollen. I knew it was her husband who did this because he was fond of beating her.” She said.

She said that her sister informed her that she went to the market when her husband started accusing her of sleeping with other men.

Mukuka said her sister informed her that her husband then started hitting her with his crutches until she became weak and he inserted the base of his crutch into her private part until she started bleeding heavily.

Mukuka said although the victim was providing for the suspect and some of her family members, she had on many occasions being withdrawn from her marriage but the two always reconciled.

GAY PROTEST AN INDICATION OF GOVT’S TOLERANCE OF LGBTQ COMMUNITY- Changala

GAY PROTEST AN INDICATION OF GOVT’S TOLERANCE OF LGBTQ COMMUNITY

By Leah Ngoma

Human Rights Activist Brebner Changala has charged that the first ever protest by Lesbians, Gays, Bisexuals, Transgender and Questioning-LGBTQ- community in Zambia is a clear indication that the new dawn administration is tolerant of the LGBTQ movement.

On Saturday last week, protesters convened by Sistah Sistah Foundation Zambia gathered outside the Lusaka Show Grounds advocating for the rights of the LGBTQ community.

But Mr. Changala is shocked that the LGBTQ community gathered the courage to come out in the open without interference from law enforcement officers despite homosexuality being illegal in Zambia.

Mr. Changala wonders why such a controversial community could have so much leverage and support of state police when other activists have in the past been arrested for trying to protest against various issues.

He has since challenged government to come out in the open and state its true position on gay rights unlike the current situation where its pronouncements on the matter do not seem to match with their actions

Meanwhile, Police in Lusaka have summoned organizers of the protest to ascertain why the event was turned into a forum for championing homosexuality when the convers applied for a permit to hold a march-past within Lusaka district to raise awareness against women and girls sexual and gender based violence.

Efforts to get a comment from Chief Government Spokesperson Chushi Kasanda on the matter failed as her mobile phone was switched off.

Livingstone man dumps side chick after 70 sexual encounters

A WOMAN of Livingstone has been relieved of her side chick duties despite providing her partner with thrilling and ecstatic sexual services 70 times since November 2021.

Her partner says he now wants to concentrate his energy towards his wife at home.

According to reports by the Zambia Daily Mail, Catherine Siamuche aged 30 had been contracted to provide sexual pleasure to a married man, Allasca Ng’andu 36 but with no strings attached.

Ng’andu told the Livingstone Local Court that the terms and conditions of his adulterous affair with with Catherine were explicitly spelled out.

Ng’andu testified before court that according to their agreement, his relationship with Catherine would only be strong and active under the sheets behind closed doors.

However, to his displeasure Ng’andu explained that while he found the sex with Catherine enjoyable, she unfortunately had been violating the terms of their sexual affair by sending him her nude pictures and following him to his work place and home, where his wife would see her.

Ng’andu said a month into their relationship and despite what he had told her, she sent him naked pictures of herself.

He also said she started calling him on WhatsApp, which led him to block her number.

Ng’andu said he decided to end the affair because he did not want problems in his marriage she apologized for her conduct and they rekindled their relationship.

He said the first time they had sex, he used protection but after going for voluntary Counseling and Testing (VCT), they stopped using condoms after testing HIV- negative.

He said she followed him to church demanding that he abandoned his church program for her. He said that was the final straw for him, so he sued her to prevent her from stalking him.

He regretted cheating on his wife.

But Catherine told court that the first time they met at a lodge and engaged in sex, Ng’andu knelt down with a bible in his hands and promised her marriage.

She told court that the last time they last time they had sex was three weeks ago in a makeshift shop as she sat on his thighs on a bench.

She said she only followed him to his work place because she wanted to speak with him.

“I love this man despite him being a married man. But since he says he loves his wife, I will stop loving him now,” said Catherine.

The court heard that the duo had ploughed each other 70 times from the time they met in 2021.

Passing judgment, principle Local Court Magistrate Esau Daka and Magistrate Charles Mumba, upheld the claim but also held another restraining order against the plaintiff.

The court reprimanded Ng’andu saying his conduct would expose his wife to STIs.

The court also advised Catherine to look after herself as she was still young and would meet a man of her own.

Chris Rock hits back at Will Smith in Netflix livestream

0

Chris Rock finally hit back at Will Smith on Saturday in a brutal stand-up routine, a year after the actor slapped him in front of a global TV audience for the Oscars.

The comedian came out swinging, accusing the Hollywood star of “selective outrage” when he reacted to a jibe about Jada Pinkett Smith’s shaved head, and saying Smith lashed out at a shorter man because he was annoyed his wife had cheated on him.

“Will Smith practices selective outrage,” Rock told an audience in a show that was streamed live on Netflix.

“Everybody that really knows, knows I had nothing to do with that. I didn’t have any entanglements,” he said, referring to Pinkett Smith’s acknowledged marital infidelity.

Rock was presenting an Oscar in Hollywood last March when he made a crack about Pinkett Smith’s closely cropped head. She has alopecia.

The “Men in Black” star mounted the stage and slapped the comedian hard across the face, before returning to his seat and yelling obscenities at the presenter.

A few minutes later, Smith was presented with an Oscar for best actor for his role in “King Richard.”

He later apologized to Rock, but was banned from the Oscars for a decade.

Rock was praised for his measured response on the night, and has maintained near silence on the issue in the year since.

But on Saturday night’s livestream from Baltimore, he let rip.

“People ask ‘Did it hurt?’. It still hurts,” he said.

“Will Smith is significantly bigger than me. Will Smith played Muhammad Ali in a movie. You think I auditioned for that?”

– ‘I finish it’ –

The comedian said Smith had been widely mocked after an episode of his wife’s podcast in which the couple talked about her affair and how it affected him.

“Why would you do that?” he asked. Many people have been cheated on, but the Hollywood power couple are the only ones who discussed it in public that way, he said.

“Everybody in the world called him a bitch. They called his wife a predator. Everybody called him a bitch,” he said, noting that he had tried to offer condolences after news of the affair became public.

Rock said the animosity from Pinkett Smith stemmed from a few years earlier when she had called on him to boycott the Oscars because her husband had been overlooked for his 2015 movie “Concussion.”

“She said… a grown ass man should quit his job because her husband didn’t get nominated for ‘Concussion.’ Then (Smith) gives me a concussion,” he quipped.

“What the fuck? So did I do some jokes about it? Who gives a fuck? That’s how it is; she starts it, I finish it. Nobody was picking on her.”

Rock, who at times appeared genuinely angry, said before last year he had always loved Smith, first as a rapper, and then as an actor.

“He’d made some great movies. I’ve rooted for Will Smith my whole life,” but now, he said, he was rooting for the slave master who beats Smith’s character in his latest movie, “Emancipation.”

Rock’s show was the first live comedy event for Netflix, with the platform reportedly also looking at offering live sports.

Rivals including Disney+ and Amazon Prime Video already offer live events including sports and musical performances.

Netflix hosts a live comedy festival at dozens of venues in Los Angeles, but those shows have not yet been available to stream live on its platform.

This year’s Oscars will be held on March 12. AFP

Kim Kardashian Ready To Date, Wants Man Who “Isn’t Famous In Hollywood”

0

Kim Kardashian has been a part of numerous failed relationships throughout her life, but she’s not giving up on love. According to a Friday (March 3) report from PEOPLE, the socialite is feeling “ready” to start dating again after ending things with Pete Davidson in mid-2022. It sounds like her next beau could be very different from the men from her past.

When she was only 19 years old, the mother of four eloped with music producer Damon Thomas. Their divorce was finalized three years later, in 2003, at which time Kardashian was spending time with Ray J. During their relationship, the singer and model famously made a sex tape together, which was leaked in February 2007. As many have pointed out, this was the true catalyst for her inevitable rise to fame.

Kim’s Romantic Past

As Us Weekly notes, Kardashian also spent time with two Nicks – Lachey and Cannon – before meeting long-term beau Reggie Bush. They were together on and off from 2007 to 2010. After that, the reality star stepped out with a handful of other stars before connecting with Kris Humphries. She and the athlete were engaged less than a year after meeting. While they went through with their wedding, it ended after just 72 days and wasn’t settled until April 2013.

Kanye West is the man who came into the SKIMS founder’s life next, and though their marriage also ultimately ended, they share four beautiful children together. Their split was publicly played out via the rapper’s Instagram feed, but he’s been far quieter on Instagram as of late. When Kimye went their separate ways, she found a spark with Davidson, but that burnt out after nine months.

Looking to the Future

After taking time off from romance to heal and focus on her family, Kardashian has formed a better idea of what she’s looking for in a man. “Kim hasn’t been dating, but is ready again,” insiders told PEOPLE earlier this week. “She took a breather after Pete, but she is interested now. She would love to date someone who isn’t famous in Hollywood. Someone in finance would be perfect.”

Sources shared that the makeup mogul “has a lot of things going on that make her happy,” and being able to share that with a partner would bring her joy. Who would you like to see Kim Kardashian date next? Let us know in the comments, and check back later for more pop culture news updates.

Pakistan police attempt to arrest former PM Imran Khan

0

Police in Pakistan said officers attempted on Sunday to arrest former prime minister Imran Khan, who is battling several legal cases as he pressures the government for early elections.

Officers from the capital, Islamabad, arrived at Khan’s home in the eastern city of Lahore, which was surrounded by hundreds of his supporters, but were unable to carry out the arrest.

“A team of Islamabad police has arrived in Lahore to arrest Imran Khan to comply with the court orders,” Islamabad police said in a tweet.

“Imran Khan is reluctant to surrender — the Superintendent of Police had gone into the room but Imran Khan was not present there.”

The arrest warrant was issued after Khan failed to appear in court in a corruption case on February 28.

Khan is accused of failing to declare gifts received during his time in office or the profit made from selling them.

Government officials must declare all gifts but are allowed to keep those below a certain value.

Khan later spoke to party workers in his Zaman Park house in Lahore, where police remained outside.

“I am being summoned in fake cases and the nation should know about them,” he said.

“It will be a bad omen for the country if the nation does not stand against the corrupt rulers.”

The vice chairman of Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party, Shah Mehmood Qureshi, earlier told reporters in Lahore: “We have received the notice from Islamabad police — the notice does not contain any order for the arrest.”

“We will consult our lawyers and follow the legal process.”

Pakistan’s courts are often used to tie up lawmakers in tedious and long-winded proceedings that rights monitors have criticised for stifling political opposition.

Khan, who was shot in the leg during a rally last year, has attempted to disrupt politics in the South Asian nation since he was forced out of office in a no-confidence vote in April.

He has been pushing for early polls due no later than October by holding protests, pulling out of parliament and dissolving the two provincial assemblies his party controls in a bid to force the government’s hand.

The nation of more than 220 million is in dire economic straits with runaway inflation, scant foreign exchange reserves and stalling bailout talks with the International Monetary Fund.

To pull the country out of its spiral, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is battling to revive the next tranche of a $6.5 billion loan deal sketched with the IMF in 2019. AFP

Ramaphosa to announce Cabinet reshuffle today at 7pm

President Cyril Ramaphosa has finally broken his silence on the Cabinet reshuffle after he put paid to speculation by announcing that the reshuffle will happen on Monday at 7pm.

Ramaphosa’s spokesperson Vincent Magwenya said despite speculation that the president was to make the announcement on Thursday, this was not true.

He said the president was still having a persistent cold that started last week when he hosted his counterpart from Uganda, Yoweri Museveni.

ANC secretary-general Fikile Mbalula, in his capacity as transport minister, confirmed he had attended the meeting with Ramaphosa, during the visit by Museveni, and he had a cold.

Magwenya said although there had been reports on the reshuffle there was no set date for Ramaphosa to do it.

“We have clarified this matter. There was never any set date for the president to announce the reconfiguration of the national executive and there was never any deadline,” said Magwenya.

He added that Ramaphosa had been in consultation.

He also dismissed claims that Ramaphosa was derelict in his duties when he attended the auction at his Phala Phala farm by the Ankole society when the nation was waiting for the Cabinet reshuffle.

“But contrary to media coverage and speculation on social platforms, there was no plan for the president to announce changes to Cabinet on Thursday, the 2nd of March.

“As a result, there was no postponement or cancellation of such an announcement. On Friday the 3rd of March, President Ramaphosa honoured an engagement of the Ntaba Nyoni Cattle Stud. This was a dinner preceding an annual auction. The dates for these events were scheduled a number of months ago. In view of his discomfort, the president made a brief stop at Friday’s dinner – to greet guests. President Ramaphosa did not attend the auction itself the following day as his cold persisted and required that he should rest,” said Magwenya.

Paul Mashatile, who was elected deputy leader of the ANC, is expected to be announced as the country’s number two.

This was after David Mabuza quit his job as the country’s deputy president last week.

This followed his earlier announcement that he had resigned, but Ramaphosa had asked him to stay on.There will also be a new transport minister as Mbalula will work at Luthuli House full-time as secretary-general of the ANC.

The position of Ayanda Dlodlo will also be filled after almost a year since she left. Thulas Nxesi has been acting minister of public service and administration.

Nxesi is the minister of employment and labour.

China considering deepening Xi Jinping’s control

0

As lawmakers gather in Beijing to adopt comprehensive changes, Xi Jinping is expected to further consolidate his hold over China’s government and economy.

Mr. Xi’s third term as president and the selection of his top team will be confirmed by the National People’s Congress (NPC), a rubber-stamp legislature.

In addition, they will choose a new premier to succeed Li Keqiang as Mr. Xi’s successor.

The meetings, referred to as The Two Sessions, take place once a year.

Yet, this year’s meetings are especially noteworthy since delegates are anticipated to reform a number of important Communist Party and government organizations.

They will also tighten control over bodies overseeing the finance sector and scientific and technology work, while “strengthening party-building work” in private businesses, according to state media.

The moves will likely further blur the lines between the Chinese Communist Party and the government, and consolidate the party’s control of the private sector.

This comes amid an ongoing corruption crackdown which has seen a string of high-profile businessmen disappear in recent years. The latest person to go missing was one of China’s top dealmakers in the tech sector.

This week’s NPC meeting will also formalise Mr Xi’s leadership of the country, as he will be elected president of China and head of the armed forces.

He secured his position in the echelons of Chinese power in October last year, when the Communist Party re-elected him as their leader for a third term.

It was a break from decades-long tradition, as no other party leader besides Communist China’s first leader, Mao Zedong, will have served for this long. In the 2018 NPC meeting, lawmakers had approved the removal of term limits on the presidency, effectively allowing Mr Xi to remain leader for life.

Mr Xi’s appointment comes as he faces domestic pressure to turn around an economy battered by his zero-pandemic strategy and crackdowns in various business sectors.

At the start of the meeting, it was announced that China will pursue a reduced economic growth target of about 5% this year, while defence spending is to rise by more than 7%.

Abroad, Mr Xi is navigating worsening ties with the US over the Ukraine war and the recent spy balloon saga, even as he warms his embrace of Russian leader Vladimir Putin.

The NPC will also unveil the new Premier, China’s equivalent of a prime minister who traditionally oversees the economy and administrative aspects of governance.

Li Qiang, one of Mr Xi’s most trusted colleagues, is expected to assume the role. As the Shanghai party secretary, he oversaw a prolonged and painful pandemic lockdown that angered locals and made international headlines.

Outgoing premier Li Keqiang, who was ousted in the leadership reshuffle at October’s party congress, will deliver his last work report speech.

The political appointments for the rest of the Politburo Standing Committee, the equivalent of Mr Xi’s cabinet, will also be announced.

Many will be watching to see who fills several key positions, such as the commerce minister, head of the national development and reform commission, propaganda chief, and head of state security.

Observers say the team was picked more for their loyalty to Mr Xi and the party, rather than for their expertise.

Aliko Dangote’s sugar business profit surpasses $110 million in 2022

0

Dangote Sugar Refinery Plc, a leading integrated sugar business majority owned by Africa’s richest man Aliko Dangote, has achieved a historic feat by recording an outstanding performance in its 2022 fiscal year, with profits surpassing the N50 billion ($110 million) milestone during the period under review.

The company’s recently published financial results revealed that it reported an impressive 148-percent increase in profits from N22.05 billion ($47.9 million) in 2021 to N54.74 billion ($119 million) at the end of its fiscal year, which ended on Dec. 31, 2022.

Dangote Sugar Refinery’s remarkable triple-digit surge in earnings during its 2022 fiscal year was mainly driven by sustained growth in the demand for sugar, resulting in an impressive 46-percent increase in revenue from N276.05 billion ($600 million) in 2021 to N403.24 billion ($876 million) in 2022.

The company’s outstanding financial performance was aided by its well-executed cost strategies, which kept operating costs in check.

Dangote Sugar Refinery was able to significantly reduce its distribution expenses from N906.5 million ($1.96 million) to N741.4 million ($1.61 million), while its administrative costs decreased slightly from N10.63 billion ($23.1 million) to N10.31 billion ($22.4 million).

Dangote Sugar Refinery’s impressive financial performance in its 2022 fiscal year led to significant increases in its retained earnings and total assets.

The company’s retained earnings grew from N116.25 billion ($252.4 million) to N158.84 billion ($345 million), while its total assets rose from N359 billion ($780 million) to N492.43 billion ($1.07 billion).

As a result of this outstanding performance, the board of directors recommended a dividend payment of N1.50 ($0.0032) per ordinary share of 50kobo ($0.00106) to shareholders, which amounts to a total payout of N18.15 billion ($39.4 million).

This dividend will be drawn from the company’s impressive profit of N54.74 billion ($119 million), showcasing its commitment to rewarding its shareholders and creating value for them.

The recently published financial results of Dangote Sugar Refinery have elicited a highly positive reaction from investors, with the company’s shares soaring by almost 10 percent during trading hours on the Nigerian Exchange.

This surge in buying interest reflects the confidence investors have in the leading integrated sugar business and its ability to continue delivering impressive financial results.

This renewed buying interest pushed the company’s market capitalization above N215 billion ($467 million), solidifying its position as the eighteenth most valuable company listed on the Nigerian Exchange.

Ales Bialiatski, the recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize, was given a 10-year prison term by a Belarusian cour

0

Ales Bialiatski, the recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize, was given a 10-year prison term by a Belarusian court.

He was found guilty of trafficking and funding “activities substantially disturbing public order,” according to the Viasna human rights organization

Supporters of Mr Bialiatski, 60, say the authoritarian regime of Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko is trying to silence him.

Mr Bialiatski was one of three winners of the 2022 Nobel Peace Prize.

He was arrested in 2021 following massive street protests over widely disputed elections the previous year, and accused of smuggling cash into Belarus to fund opposition activity.

Demonstrators were met with police brutality and Lukashenko critics were regularly arrested and jailed during the demonstrations, which started in 2020.

Mr Bialiatski was in court alongside two fellow campaigners, Valentin Stefanovich and Vladimir Labkovich.

Mr Stefanovich was sentenced to nine years in prison, while Mr Labkovich received seven years, according to Viasna, the group Mr Bialiatski founded in 1996.

All three had pleaded not guilty.

Mr Bialiatski’s wife, Natalya Pinchuk, said the trial was “obviously against human rights defenders for their human rights work”, describing it as a “cruel” verdict.

Referring to her husband’s letters from prison, where he has been held since arrest, she said: “He always writes that everything is fine. He doesn’t complain about his health – he tries not to upset me.”

Kostya Staradubets, a spokesperson for Viasna, said the sentences imposed on the three activists were “breaking our hearts”.

Speaking to the BBC World Service’s Newshour programme, he said: “We knew that our three colleagues would get long prison terms but anyway it’s still a shock, it’s breaking our hearts, not only the [prison] terms are long but the conditions also very horrific.

“We call [the conditions] torture actually because they’re being held for several months in a 19th Century building, poorly lit cells with no fresh air, no sunlight, poor food, little or no healthcare.”

Belarus’s exiled opposition leader Svetlana Tikhanovskaya said the sentencing was “simply appalling”.

“We must do everything to fight against this shameful injustice and free them,” she said.

Berit Reiss-Andersen, chair of the Norwegian Nobel Committee that awards the Nobel Peace Prize, said the verdict was a “tragedy” for Mr Bialiatski and described the charges as “politically motivated”.

European Union foreign policy chief Josep Borrell condemned what he described as “sham trials”, adding they were “yet another appalling example of the Lukashenko regime trying to silence those who stand up in defence of human rights and fundamental freedoms of the people in Belarus”.

There are currently 1,458 political prisoners in Belarus, according to Viasna. Authorities claim there are none.

In awarding the 2022 Nobel Peace Prize to Mr Bialiatski, Ms Reiss-Anderson said the Belarusian government had “for years tried to silence him”.

“He has been harassed, he has been arrested and jailed, and he has been deprived of employment,” she said.

Mr Bialiatski is a veteran of the human rights movement in Belarus, establishing Viasna in 1996 in response to the brutal crackdown of street protests that year by Mr Lukashenko, who has been president of Belarus since the office was established in 1994.

He was jailed for three years in 2011 after being convicted on tax evasion charges, which he denied.

WATCH: Highlights of the Belarus leader’s exclusive interview with the BBC’s Steve Rosenberg from 2021.

Mr Lukashenko, a close ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin, has been described as Europe’s last dictator.

Increasingly reliant on Moscow for economic, political and military support, he has hosted Russian forces and allowed them to use Belarus as a staging ground for its invasion of Ukraine.

He has been sanctioned for his role in the invasion, as well as for political oppression at home.

Last month he told the BBC he was ready to “wage war” alongside Russia “if someone – even a single soldier – enters our territory from there [Ukraine]”.

Hakainde Hichilema may lead till 2031- Alice Rowland Musukwa

I stand to be corrected in a very polite and respectful way, if you have nothing sensible to contribute please just skip.

I think, As a Country we need to change the mindset of thinking a government will change our personal problems, we need to understand that every political party will come in with their own propaganda to have that vote, they will try to label the other party corrupt, lairs bla bla just to have their way.

One thing we have powerful as people with a political privilege of democracy, is to make sure the younger generation start to show interest in being in politics, so that in future, they can be the change they talk about.

Zambia has a lot of recycled politicians, same faces trying to create different parties and Same faces trying to still be active using other dynamics, as a country we need to understand that as long the younger generation is scared to take up space the problem will still remain the same.

Zambians are one of the Book smart people in Africa but suffer from the unknown ( scared to try) sometimes we become to comfortable to try our potential, reason why Even Dec would leave their offices to investigate a 10 year old Lamborghini with 120 mileage because we are cared of money, certain names and things scare us from far without understanding the value.

We have alot of young men and women with merits who are fit to be great leaders today and in future because they understand the depth of their people but they are scared to start the journey because someone will tell them, you are not a politician, you can’t be a politician forgetting those people that parade as politicians started from the bottom, it took 10 years for some to even become mayors or area councilors.

His excellency Hakainde Hichilema right now is the only strong hold party in Zambia and he may lead till 2031, My thoughts and Questions are, have you the younger generation looked at all the opposition leaders and convinced on one who will take over and fulfill the needs of your country after 3 to 10 years?

So far the freedom you asked for, he has delivered and many more things, some will agree and some will disagree based on individual expectations but the point is if you have the potential to help your people why are you being convinced that you are and never will you be a politician? Stand up shake it off and think of 3 to 10 years from now.

HH FIRES A TONGA AND TRIBALISTS ARE QUIET: CAN THOSE TRIBALISTS NOW CRY WOLF! WOLF! SINCE A TONGA HAS BEEN FIRED

HH FIRES A TONGA AND TRIBALISTS ARE QUIET: CAN THOSE TRIBALISTS NOW CRY WOLF! WOLF! SINCE A TONGA HAS BEEN FIRED!

One thing that some tribalists don’t know is that when President Hakainde Hichilema says he will fight past, present and future crimes, he actually means it.

No one should cry tribalism when fired for stealing or aiding crimes.

Yesterday, Hichilema fired a Tonga named Mooya Lumamba who was Permanent Secretary of Mines but the tribalists are quiet compared to what the blabbering they make when their fellow tribalists are fired.

One thing clear though is that when HH says when you commit an offence, you are on your own, he means it and whether Tonga, Bemba, Nyanja or Chinese, he will fire you.

Even the PF pages run by their tribalists like Emmanuel Mwamba and gay tribalist Fred Namakando M’membe are not even defending the fired Tonga man.

Next time someone is fired from other parts of the country, be it Lozi, ila, Bemba, Nyanja, Lunda or Kaonde, you tribalists must keep quiet because HH has demonstrated that he will fire anyone anyway.

We have been following the leadership of Hakainde Hichilema just like Edgar Lungu for a long time now and one thing clear about the current President is that he fires on merit and those taking advantage of his kindness including the corrupt, will surely scamper like rats.

Recently, President Hakainde Hichilema announced at a public gathering that if someone is committing crimes, he actually shows signs that he is going for such an individual and its upto to that person to change their behaviour or be shown the exit door.

For us, we can simply say: Mr President, Sir. Tonga or Bemba, Ila or Nyanja, Chokwe or Nsenga, Lunda or Tumbuka, Bisa or Lenje, Lamba or Chewa, when they commit crimes, fire them and let their fellow tribalists hang themselves by kissing ZESCO poles. You have a country to run and not a clique of tribalists to please.- Koswe

SISTAH SISTA FOUNDATION SUMMONED BY POLICE FOR HIGHLIGHTING LGBTQ AT THEIR EVENT

SISTAH SISTA FOUNDATION SUMMONED BY POLICE FOR HIGHLIGHTING LGBTQ AT THEIR EVENT

The Buck Stops With President Hichilema Over The Gay Parade In Lusaka- Amb. Emmanuel Mwamba

The Buck Stops With President Hichilema Over The Gay Parade In Lusaka.

…I place all the blame on him as all these activities are being allowed under his watch.

By Amb. Emmanuel Mwamba.

Lusaka – 5th March, 2023.

President Hakainde Hichilema’s fraternisation and cosy policies with the West is going to cost this country its soul. It wouldn’t be long before we witnessed what we saw on Saturday 4th March 2023.

An awareness public protest was held on Saturday by women and girls protesting against the 17 year old girl that was raped by a Guard at the University Teaching Hospital when she went to seek medical treatment.

The march was advertised as Women’s March for Gender Equality from East Park to the Showgrounds Rugby Club Grounds.

But what shocked motorists was the LGBTQ colours and type of protest songs.

“Chnna Changa, My P*ssy, My Choice”

This is a well-known demand for sexual rights that a person can sleep with whoever they wish to, including same sex partners.

Some LGBTQ members and activists doned in rainbow t-shirts, hijacked the agenda and turned it into a protest for gay rights.

We now have information that these activits also intend to participate in Women’s Day activities and also intend to particpate in marching on Women’s Day on 8th March 2023.

Homosexuality and its promotion remain illegal in Zambia as they offend Cultural, traditional, Christian and public morals, and national principles and values.

But this government has deliberately chosen to give a blind eye.

In Africa, the LGBTQ agenda is heavily promoted using social-media and challenging and sponsoring legal challenges to the current anti-homosexuality laws.

The activists are tutored to dare the law when they assess if the country has attained a friendly Judiciary or friendly gay-agenda judges. They hire good and expensive lawyers to challenge the legality of the criminalization of homosexuality and gay sex and its relationships. They recently scored legal success in Botswana and Kenya.

All those LGBTQ awereness and training workshops in Livingstone, Siavonga and Lusaka the last one year are bearing fruit as seen by today’s activities.

I place all the blame on President Hakainde Hichilema as all these activities are being allowed under his watch.

Zambians don’t say you were not warned.

TAME YOUR CADRES THEY ARE BECOMING A NUISANCE – MRS. HACHILONDE URGES UPND

TAME YOUR CADRES THEY ARE BECOMING A NUISANCE – MRS. HACHILONDE URGES UPND.

Patriotic Front (PF) Deputy National Chairlady Kavumbu Hakachima Hachilonde says United Party for National Development (UPND) should tame its cadres who are becoming a
nuisance in the country.

Yesterday, UPND cadres intercepted PF party materials that were destined for Muchinga Province, SHIWANG’ANDU Constituency in particular.

It is alleged that the cadres beat up the PF Council Chairperson for SHIWANG’ANDU, stole his phone and undisclosed amounts of money as well as destroying some party materials although the few remaining materials are with the Police.

And in her resentful statement this morning, Mrs. Hachilonde says its worrisome to see UPND perpetrating violence few days after President HICHILEMA was preaching about peace and unity among Zambians.

She has since challenged the UPND to prove that it truly detest violence and caderism by ensuring that those of its members perpetrating the vice immediately face the wrath of the law.

Mrs. Hachilonde says the UPND should realize that hypocrisy will not stabilize the country’s economy, hence the need to walk the talk.

She adds that this is a fundamental human right for PF women to also participate in this very important International Women’s day.

Mrs. Hachilonde who vividly recalled the remarks by Lusaka Province Permanent Secretary Robert Kabalata who counselled the planning committee that Government does not expect any conflicts during this important occasion, reiterated that self-deception or treachery should not be entertained.

She emphasized that Zambians must be given the freedom they deserve because ZAMBIA is not only for UPND aligned individuals.

Mrs. Hachilonde has since call on the Zambia Police Service to do their job and retrieve the materials so that PF women in affected areas can participate in International women’s day.

She further called on the Vice President of the Republic of Zambia Mutale NALUMANGO to help her fellow women retrieve the party materials so that they can participate happily.

The PF Deputy National chair Lady says fighting should never be the agenda but to collectively put the heads together and share ideas on how to improve the economy which is in shambles.

” I call for peace and unity in our country as we prepare for international women’s day.” Mrs. Hachilonde said
