PF ‘Pharisees’ should go – Mutale Nalumango

0

THE UPND has expressed disappointment with President Edgar Lungu’s Patriotic Front government whom they say, on paper, pretends to

espouse Christian morals and values but at the same time engages in unprecedented electoral corruption and bribery.

In a statement yesterday, UPND vice-president Mutale Nalumango said her party is aware that the massive vote-buying is aimed at

hoodwinking the Zambians into thinking that the PF is becoming popular and should, therefore, be voted for in the forthcoming general elections.

She noted that Zambia’s political sphere was today polluted by a heavy stench of endemic corruption, bribery and all sorts of election malpractices never seen before.

“This is all aimed at ensuring that Mr Lungu and his minions hang on to power against the will of the suffering masses. The United Party for National Development (UPND) would like to state, without any ambiguity, that there is a very thin line, if not none, when it comes to comparison between the attributes of Mr Lungu’s government and the biblical Pharisees,” Nalumango said.

She said it was in public domain that, on one hand, President Lungu and his PF regime publicly posture themselves as enemies of corruption and bribes but, on the other, fuels those very evil acts

for political survival.

Nalumango said President Lungu’s PF has completely destroyed Zambia’s good political image beyond recognition and replaced it with

brutality, intolerance, corruption and all types of election malpractices which should never rear their ugly faces in a country declared as a Christian nation.

“The PF leadership is so desperate to retain power that it is ready to mess up the political arena with evil schemes and machinations as long as such can bring victory to their side. PF party’s lust for power has ushered onto the political scene the worst hooliganism and evil campaigns which are at variance with the principles and values of a

Christian nation,” she said.

Nalumango said, the UPND has seen some of their associates; including members of parliament abandon the great crusade for a better Zambia

and fall prey to the corruption that has been raised to the highest notch by President Lungu’s leadership.

“We are at pains to understand how Mr Lungu, who continues to posture himself as a humble and God-fearing leader, is reconciling corruption

and bribes, oxygenated by his regime, with the national values and principles propagated through the Ministry of Religious Affairs and

National guidance. What is the difference with the Pharisees?” she asked.

Nalumango recalled that President Lungu had delivered every single address in Parliament on what should be regarded as good values and principles “in this Christian nation but he appears to have a lot of challenges practicing what he preaches, for one big reason”.

She noted that with the PF’s dwindled political fortunes, they have turned to corruption and bribery to woo votes.

“It doesn’t surprise us that a PF government minister is on a whirlwind assignment of corruption and bribery in North-Western Province using money stolen from the Zambians to try to destabilise our party in North-Western Province. We are alert to the fact that this minister, whose hands are already soiled with allegations of

bribery, is working with an ungrateful turncoat MP who betrayed us and the people of Zambia by voting for Bill 10,” Nalumango said.

She said her party leadership had information that using the corrupt money, the scheme of defections was already advanced and a list of names of the targeted members from the UPND was already with them.

Nalumango warned Zambians that they would only have themselves to blame if President Lungu and the PF party were allowed to rule beyond 2021.

“The people of this country need a fresh start and a new government under the leadership of president Hichilema to clean up the mess

created by Mr Lungu’s government. This country does not need Pharisees or hypocrites in government but a new set of leaders who are

determined to selflessly work for the people of Zambia and bring sanity in the country.

Pharisees should go,” said Nalumango.

Amos Chanda Reports To Police, People Accusing Him Of Directing Nawakwi To Abduct The Hatembos

0

PRESIDENT Edgar Lungu’s former Special Assistant for press and public relations Amos Chanda has reported to Woodlands Police Station in Lusaka, allegations that he is involved in the alleged abduction of the Hatembo family.

Mr. Chanda, who is being represented by Makebi Zulu and Associates said given the gravity of the offence of abduction being a serious felony, and given that the last 48 hours have had a hell of agony for him and family, he was reassuring friends that he had no involvement whatsoever in the alleged mischief, the reason he had decided to make this public statement that he had since reported the matter to the police for necessary action.

“I fully understand that the political silly season is upon us, and others have casually suggested that I should let this matter slide, but I want to emphasize that the far-reaching extent of the consequences of these publications needs to be dealt with decisively to forestall a recurrence of the same,” Mr. Chanda said.

He said he became aware of very damaging communications on various digital media platforms purporting his nefarious involvement in some underworld operation supposedly with FDD president Ms. Edith Nawakwi, suggesting that he was directing her actions to abduct, and or “terminate” the lives of her “abductees”.

Mr. Chanda said it was often his default position to ignore such online mischief for what it was, but he was aware from public media reports that a highly publicized case of abduction was before the courts of law and that in various media outlets, Ms. Nawakwi had been quoted as having extended details about this case.

He said he neither had any knowledge nor interest in this case, nor had he ever spoke to her on this or indeed any other matter to warrant my introduction into this matter.

“For the record, I last saw Ms. Nawakwi on 29, March 2016 at the Cathedral of the Holy Cross during an inter-party political meeting for Presidential candidates. I have reason to believe that the purported digital transcripts may not be from Ms. Nawakwi given the many doggy features around them, but I will leave that to the police and other relevant law enforcement organs before whom I have laid my complaint,” Mr. Chanda said.

He also said he fully understand that the political silly season was upon the nation, and others had casually suggested that he should let this matter slide, but he wanted to emphasize that the far-reaching extent of the consequences of these publications needed to be dealt with decisively to forestall a recurrence of the same.

Mr. Chanda expressed confidence that the Police would apprehend the culprits.

“I am confident that police will apprehend the culprits because they were dumb enough to leave their digital footprint and criminal enough to blatantly assail the reputations of innocent people in the manner they have done. Further, with the enabled capability law enforcement agencies have following the enactment of the new cybercrimes law, it should be fairly easy to bring to an end the widespread decadent behavior by some low lives who appeal to base instincts of the digital followers to besmirch the reputations of others,” said Mr. Chanda.

Geofrey Hambulo drives Nawakwi’s deep hatred towards Hichilema

Geofrey Hambulo drives Nawakwi’s deep hatred towards Hichilema.

By Richard Aaron Ngoma.

That Edith Nawakwi hates Hakainde Hichilema with intensity is no longer a matter for debate. Her insatiable revulsion of the UPND President is not short of being diabolical and wicked but people need to understand that behind every successful hater is a victorious devil. In this particular situation, Nawakwi’s husband Geoffrey Hambulo is the silent operator, cold, calculative and a manipulative man behind Nawakwi’s venomous attacks on Hakainde Hichilema’s character.

Those who know Geoffrey Hambulo trace his dislike for Hichilema from the early UPND days when Mazoka made a gregarious decision to associate more with Hichilema than Hambulo. The reasons why Anderson took that decision remains a mystery perhaps only known to Hambulo and Hichilema.

Hambulo subsequently left UPND in protest and stood on the FDD ticket in a Monze parliamentary election, but got severely whacked, further raising his resentment against Mazoka and Hichilema.

Most Monzenese talk of Hambulo’s long time desire to be the most dominant force in Monze his native District but it hasn’t worked quite that way for him. His hate for anyone more successful than him is well known in the District.

As Minister of Finance under the MMD, Edith Nawakwi facilitated a dubious purchase of a Monze Lima bank building, under the privitization process, to Hambulo. The property currently houses Sky FM Radio station that belongs to her husband.

Hambulo’s former wife Georgina Daka, sister to current Paramount Chief Mpezeni, was a wealthy Lusaka Businesswoman whose businesses Hambulo is said to have plundered leaving her broke and then began to date Edith Nawakwi. He finally married her after a chaotic divorce with Daka in Chelstone local court. Edith Nawakwi is generally blamed for wrecking Hambulo’s marriage with Daka with whom they have a son.

Edith Nawakwi’s businesses are said to be failing amidst credible reports of massive foreclosures of farms and other properties by banks and other lending institutions, while Geoffrey Hambulo is said to be terminally ill with an undisclosed ailment which is said to be pushing their finances to the limit. The sickness of her husband appear not to be slowing down, nor stopping the couple’s evil attempt to ensure Hichilema goes down with them, to the gates of hell but Hakainde stands tall.

Body language of Pheluna and Milton Hatembo as observed by a Forensic Psychologist

0

By Stanley Nyirenda

Kinesics or kinesiology is the interpretation of body communication such as facial expressions and gestures, non verbal behaviour related to any movement of any part of the body. Body language is the range of non verbal signals that one uses to communicate feelings and intentions. This include one’s posture, facial expressions and hand gestures. One’s ability to understand body language can help pick up unspoken issues or negative feelings in others.

Pheluna and Milton Hatembo’s first positions in the video show them hugging their bodies. This has several meanings. Hugging one’s self is both defensive and a closed body position. The Hatembos appear to be combative and also shielding themselves from a distant enemy who they can’t see, but who they want to deliver a message to.They first appear timid and distressed and the reasons for this, unfold as they talk about the threats of being beheaded and how a disabled child has been left without care.

Pheluna is the first to talk and her attempt to communicate in English is thwarted by the brother who firmly advises her to speak in their native Tonga. This action underscores Milton’s desire to ensure the message is delivered wholly, clearly and concisely. When Pheluna stops speaking, there’s a brief moment of silence afterwhich she nudges her brother in the ribs to take up his turn. This is a further affirmation that Pheluna has the same concern that nothing should be left unmentioned. This cannot a choreographed script.

If it had been a choreography, a director behind the cameras would have prompted it. If it was a memorized speech, Pheluna wouldn’t have been reminded by the brother to speak in Tonga, she would have simply followed instructions from a prompter behind the camera.

Both siblings demonstrate a troubling sign of a ‘knife across the throat’ signifying beheading. This appears to have touched a raw nerve as emotions of the pair explode, prompting Milton to stand up from his comfortable position, sending both of them in wild gesticulations as they now talk simultaneously. This is an action of aggresion against the enemy, as well as solidarity. This cannot be guided by choreograph or prompting.

They speak with chins lifted up and appear to be closing in on cameras. These are subliminal messages they are sending declaring their readiness to die for a cause or belief.

From this brief explanation, I personally believe the Hatembos were speaking freely and in a free and friendly environment which is far from being conditions of captivity or abduction.

I Have Never Worked With Amos And Kaizer In The Hatembo Saga -Nawakwi

0

FDD president Edith Nawakwi says she has never spoken to former State
House officials Amos Chanda and Kaizer Zulu, in a long while, for her
to be accused of working with them in the alleged abduction of the
Hatembo family.

And Ms. Nawakwi has clarified that she is not keeping the Hatembo’s
children as reported by some sections of the media, but that she is
offering them support in the absence of their mother.
A WhatsApp screenshot has gone viral, in which it is alleging that Ms.
Nawakwi attempted to confess her alleged involvement in the abduction
of the Hatembo family.

It is further alleged that Ms. Nawakwi is working with Mr. Chanda,
President Edgar Lungu’s former special assistant for press and public
relations and his counterpart Mr. Zulu, who was President Edgar
Lungu’s political advisor in the alleged criminality.
But in an exclusive interview with The Watch Zambia, Ms. Nawakwi said
she is not in touch with Mr. Chanda or Mr. Zulu, adding that she does
not even have their numbers in her phone directory.
“Those people (Amos and Kaizer) are not even on my phone directory,”
Ms. Nawakwi said.

She added that she did not even recall the last time she spoke to Mr. Chanda.
And the FDD president has disclosed that she has reported the creators
of the fake message to the Zambia Police Force Headquarters for
investigation.

She said she has reported some suspected UPND cadres to the police for
abusing her contact and that very soon, they will face the wrath of
the law.
“I have reported that matter to the police because the UPND are
abusing my WhatsApp to the cyber team at police headquarters. And for
all I know there is chart group I know called ‘Hottest Seat’ run by
UPND members which I know circulated my number,” she said. “And the
names are already in the hands of the police so they will just receive
callouts. One of them in the chart group circulated my number and said
this is Nawakwi’s number and they were celebrating. Nawakwi the FDD
president. But one of them actually told them it’s a criminal offence
to circulate someone’s number on the chart. And that communication, I
have it and I have handed it over to the police.”
Asked under what circumstances she was keeping the Hatembos’ children,
Ms. Nawakwi said the media misinterpreted her interview.
She said she told the media organisation that she was supporting them
which she was still doing.

“They just misinterpreted that. I do support them. I have said to
you. Even as late as yesterday, I was with one of the children. I am
the only pillar in the absence of their mother. So I have cleared
that. I am saying I am the only support to those people and thanks to
other people that are contributing. There are people who will call me
and say look, is there anything we can do to support these people? And
they drop food there, they drop some hampers.
Even when one of her children was sick, I made arrangements for people
in Choma to take her to the hospital,” said Nawakwi. – The Watch Zambia

Man loses “fiance” to another man after paying her school fees

Man loses “fiance” to another man after paying her school fees

AFTER sponsoring her education, a 27-year-old man will now need a binoculars to look at the love of his dreams after the Matero Local Court in Lusaka ordered that he must keep a 100-meter distance from her and her husband.

Richard Miyonsaba, a Burundian national residing in Zambia had been dragged to
the Matero Local Court by his compatriot Romeo Ndayishimiye over his attempts to snatch his wife.

Ndayishimiye wanted the court to effect a restraining order on Miyonsaba after his numerous attampts to break his marriage.

At the centre of their legal battle is an irresistible East African beauty Evelyn Niyongabire aged 24, also a Burundian.

According to Miyonsaba, while staying in Zambia where he has been for more than eight years, he was introduced to Evelyn who was staying in Burundi at the time and the two kicked off a long distance relationship in which they mostly communicated by phone.

He then proposed marriage to Evelyn.

Miyonsaba further explained that in response to his marriage proposal, Evelyn told him that she could only marry him if he took up her academic expenses because she had no one to pay her school fees.

Being a businessman, Miyonsaba readily accepted the condition and immediately started sending money to Evelyn for her accomodation and tution fees.

However, Miyonsaba’s trust in Evelyn cracked when he saw her use a photo of another man as a WhatsApp display picture.

When he asked Evelyn who the person on her WhatsApp display photo was, she told him he was a mere friend.

Not long after that, Miyonsaba lost contact with Evelyn after she changed her phone number.

After several months of trying to trace Evelyn, Miyonsaba could not believe his eyes when he bumped into her on the streets of Lusaka, not as a single lady but as the wife of Ndayishimiye – the same man she had once displayed on WhatsApp profile.

Since then, Miyonsaba resumed his efforts to have Evelyn as his wife or at least have the money he spent on her education refunded.

In an effort to win Evelyn, Miyonsaba has reported Ndayishimiye to different police stations on several occasions saying he stole his wife.

Frustrated by Miyonsaba’s attempts, Ndayishimiye says his business is now suffering because he spends his time at Police Stations where Miyonsaba reports him.

However, Evelyn’s husband is not prepared to lose her that easily especially that his wife denies ever being in a relationship with Miyonsaba or receiving any of his money.

“My business has now gone down because I spend most of my time going to police stations answering callouts. Miyonsaba has been saying that he will make my stay in Zambia difficult saying he will report me to immigration that I am an illegal immigrant,” Ndayishimiye told the court.

In her testimony, Evelyn said that although Miyonsaba’s friend Willie Njuma had tried to persuade her to marry him, she did not accept.

She said said Njuma had told her to marry Miyonsaba because he was a wealthy man but rejected the offer because non of her relatives knew him.

In ruling in the matter, Magistrate Kaputo Ng’andwe granted the restraining order against
Miyonsaba saying he should keep 100 metres away from Ndayishimiye and Evelyn.

Magistrate Kaputo Ng’andwe also advised the parties to go to back to their countries and engage their families on the issue.

Matero man fails to “perform” after inheriting late brother’s wife

0

A MAN of Lusaka has had his “below par” marriage performance report publicised in the Matero Local Court by his dissatisfied wife.

In a tell-it-all testimony, Clara Kimbili 32 told the Matero Local Court in Lusaka that Emison Njobvu aged 47 inherited her from his late young brother in 2008 and all was well until he became diabetic in 2012.

The two have three children including two left by her late husband.

According to Kimbili, the diabetes robbed Njobvu of his bedroom prowess much to his frustration.

She explained that despite visiting several hospitals to have Njobvu restored, his libido levels were still unable to provide sufficient power to light up their matrimonial bedroom.

Kimbili said her husband’s condition made him paranoid and always accused her of having extramarital affairs.

And for her punishment, Njobvu would unleash Floyd Mayweather kind of hooks and uppercuts on Kimbili.

She presented her mouth of missing teeth to the court as the evidence of her unmatched boxing bouts with Njobvu.

Kimbili said at one point, Njobvu even went as far as posting her photo on social media accompanied by a threatening caption that he would insert a knife in her private parts to stop her from sleeping around.

The mother of three cried to the Court to dissolve her marriage because Njobvu had also neglected the two children she had with his late brother despite selling the estate which included two plots and one house left behind behind by her late husband.

She said Njobvu also misused his late brother’s insurance money.

Kambili said Njobvu and his family were now threatening to evict her from her house and wanted the court to rescue her.

But Njobvu told the court that Kambili became disrespectful after his “power was loadshedded” by diabetes.

Njobvu said he became suspicious of his wife when he overheard one of her phonal conversations with a man.

He denied accusations that he had misused his brother’s money.

“My brother left a plot which I later sold and built a house, it is not true that I have neglected the children. I have been supporting the children with school fees and other requirements,” he said.

Njobvu told the court that it was better for the court to divorce the couple because they have had multiple problems.

In passing judgment Magistrate Kaputo Ng’andwe granted the couple divorce on grounds their marriage has broken down irretrievably.

The Court ordered Njobvu to be providing monthly child support of K500 for the three children.

When Kambwili Rejoins PF, He Will Still Be NDC Member, Says Party SG Dr Paul Mbulo

0

WHEN KAMBWILI REJOINS PF, HE WILL STILL BE NDC MEMBER, SAYS PARTY SG

By Staff Reporter

When Chishimba Kambwili goes back to the PF he will still remain a member of NDC, says National Democratic Congress (NDC) secretary general Dr Paul Mbulo.

Speaking with Daily Revelation, Dr Mbulo was asked over Kambwili’s conflicting positions and the message they were sending to his supporters, having once boasted that imbwili nimbwili, which can never be cowed by anyone, when in the recent past he has literally gone back to eat his own vomit, Dr Mbulo said: “First and foremost Dr Chishimba Kambwili did not leave PF, he was chased, he was forced out of Patriotic Front. I don’t know if you can follow me. He tried to remain, because he’s amongst the five few people who started the Patriot Front…so when you look at the background he’s one person who even up to now has Patriotic Front at heart. What does that mean. It means it’s a party that he can go back to.”

“Now because he had already formed a political a party which is National Democratic Congress party, when he goes to the Patriotic Front he will still remain a member of NDC, because that is a party that he has suffered for,” Dr Mbulo said.

On Kambwili’s mixed statements, Dr Mbulo said “those are statements that come when somebody wakes up and says this, the other day he comes and says this. But the fact is NDC party is not only for one person it’s for all people.”

He said the NDC was ready to field another presidential candidate in the event of Kambwili rejoining the ruling party, adding that there was also a provision in the party constitution that in case a president did not stand other members could still go ahead to stand on that party ticket.

“So what we are saying is when the president says I’m not standing as a president for NDC party, we shall still allow our members to stand on the the NDC party, one of them is myself I am standing in Mambilima constituency,” he said.

Dr Mbulo said the priority of the party was to work with the PF in an alliance.

“The reason is very simple, 2021 elections is between the two political parties. Believe you mean whoever president will make a mistake to stand on his own will create anarchy for himself. The battle is between the Patriotic Front and the UPND,” Dr Mbulo said. “We wanted to work with the UPND in an alliance they chased us out of the alliance, so who do we think we can support now? It’s the Patriotic Front if they want. If they still say no we cannot work with the NDC, NDC will still field candidates.”

On the insistence coming from the PF that Kambwili must be more forthright in what capacity he was intending to work with the ruling party, whether he was rejoining or getting in in form of an alliance, Dr Mbulo said “Those assertions are there and our advise to our president…- Daily Revelation

AMB. MWAMBA REPORTS SISHUWA SISHUWA TO POLICE FOR SEDITION

AMB. MWAMBA REPORTS SISHUWA SISHUWA TO POLICE FOR SEDITION

Lusaka- Monday April 26,2021

Zambia’s Ambassador to Ethiopia and Permanent Representative to the African Union, His Excellency Emmanuel Mwamba has reported University of Zambia Lecturer, Dr. Sishuwa Sishuwa to the Police for writing and publishing seditious material.

In his letter dated 26th April 2021 written to the Inspector General of Police, Ambassador Mwamba contended that the article written by Dr. Sishuwa Sishuwa and published by the Mail & Guardian of South Africa was seditious as it portrayed Zambia as a country at the verge of a civil war and widespread political unrest.
He said Sishuwa’s article also painted a picture that all State and Democratic institutions in Zambia had collapsed or were about to.

Mr. Mwamba said the newspaper enjoys wide coverage across Africa and the assertions by Sishuwa in the article was meant to scandalise the country and its leadership.

He also stated that Dr. Sishuwa’s assertions that institutions such as the Judiciary and the Electoral Commission had lost public faith were dangerous and had capacity to instigate a public uprising.

He said Dr. Sishuwa’s assertions that the international community had conspired with the Zambian Government to remain silence on the alleged extensive human rights abuses and what he termed as murderous attacks against democratic institutions, portrayed a country suffering a collapse of democracy.

Mr. Mwamba said, Dr. Sishuwa as a political analyst and academic acted with treachery against his country when he published assertions he knew were false.

Mr Mwamba said Sishuwa peddled the dangerous lies to scandalise the government of President Edgar Lungu internationally and to harm the good and democratic standing that Zambia has enjoyed for over 56 years in Africa and the rest of the world.

Mr. Mwamba gave an example of thriving state and democratic institutions by citing the the Electoral Commission of Zambia which recently conducted a voter registration where over seven million Zambians turned up to register as voters.

He said the act to maliciously attack and scandalise democratic and state institutions by Sishuwa was an act of sedition

RE; REPORTING MR. SISHUWA SISHUWA FOR THE CRIME OF SEDITION

I am Amb. Emmanuel Mwamba.

I am a patriotic citizen and currently serving as Zambia’s Ambassador to Ethiopia and Permanent Representative to the African Union and to the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa.

While I was in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, a fellow Ambassador forwarded to me an article that appeared in the South African Mail and Guardian Newspaper online version, published on 22nd March 2021.

My colleague expressed alarm and wondered about the article.

He feared that the article made assertions that Zambia was at the verge of a civilian war or widespread political unrest.

When I took time to read the article, I understand the concerns by my colleague and I was also deeply disturbed by its contents.

This article was published by an academic, currently employed at the University of Zambia, Dr. Sishuwa Sishuwa.

Dr. Sishuwa was writing the article in his capacity, as a historian and a political commentator.

Reading the article, one comes to a conclusion that Zambia was a country waiting to explode.

In the article Mr. Sishuwa alleges that Zambia’s democratic institutions such as the Electoral Commission, the Judiciary, the Police, and Parliament had collapsed and lost their autonomy, direction and function.

The article alleges that because of “intolerable levels of unemployment, extreme inequalities, restless and violent party cadres with a desperate political elite, the country may burn after the August 12 General Elections”.

Mr. Sishuwa also claims that there is lack of public trust and outright contempt to formal institutions such as the Electoral Commission, and the Zambia Police.

The article also claims that the ruling Patriotic Front was clinging to power unconstitutionally and was keen to perpetuate its stay to allegedly continue to accumulate public resources and escape possible prosecution and imprisonment.

The article also claimed that Western institutions and actors had engaged in incriminating silence against alleged widespread human rights violations and murderous attacks against democratic institutions.

The article further claims that factors that may alleged make Zambia suffer widespread political and civil unrest have been shaped by what Sishuwa called “the reprehensible actions of President Edgar Lungu’s authoritarian regime”!

He also made dangerous assertions that President Lungu had effectively eliminated constitutional and lawful means of political competition for the occupation of government.

He also alleged that this government had destroyed all vestiges of autonomy in all state institutions for the purposes of establishing an authoritarian government.

He also alleged that President Edgar Lungu had loaded the courts with “Judges loyal to the regime”.

MY COMPLAINT

From the above,it is clear that Mr. Sishuwa, despite being an academic, historian and political commentator, had chosen to peddle dangerous lies to scandalise the government of President Edgar Lungu, State and democratic Institutions and the good reputation of Zambia.

Further, Mr. Sishuwa has chosen to write and falsify assertions that Zambia’s democratic and state institutions have collapsed or are about to, and have lost all autonomy and public faith.

The Electoral Commission recently conducted a voter registration were over seven million Zambians enthusiastically turned up to register as voters.

This is a high measure of confidence and trust by Zambians that they can exercise their demovratic right to choose leaders of their choice through a democratic process carried out by the Electoral Commission of Zambia.

The Judiciary has seen cases by the State against personalities of the Opposition dismissed.

This demonstrates the fact that cases are determined by their own merit and not by the direction of those outside the Judiciary or as an instigation by certain political interests.

Mr. Sishuwa himself has rushed to the Lusaka Court to pursue a case of alleged defamation demonstrating the faith and public confidence such democratic institutions enjoy in Zambia.

Mr. Sishuwa neglected to explain that the appointment of Judges is a constitutionally defined process and adhered to both by the Executive, Judiciary and Parliament wings of government.

This and other numerous examples can be given to show that this write up, masquerading as political analysis, is criminal mischief against government and the country.

The write-up is intended and designed to elicit a certain negative outcome against the country.

Of deep concern is Mr. Sishuwa’s claim that Government was holding onto power unconstitutionally.

This government was legitimately elected by the people of Zambia in 2015 and 2016 and is widely recognised and accepted by Zambians and by all governments and institutions across the world.

Therefore the false assertions that this government was holding unto power unconstitutionally is dangerous as it can incite people to rise against it.

This write up is therefore seditious as it is designed to incite people to rebel against the authority of the State and its democratic institutions.

This is so especially that Zambia will hold General Elections where institutions that Mr. Sishuwa has chosen to maliciously attack, such as the Electoral Commission, the Judiciary and the Police, who are at the center of the democratic process as independent arbiters, will play a crucial role.

Attached hereto is the article by Mr. Sishuwa Sishuwa published by the Mail & Guardian dated 22nd March 2021.

Thank you

Ambassador & Permanent Representative

PF Must Disassociate Itself From Nawakwi’s Mischievous And Stupid Actions Against HH

0

PF MUST DISASSOCIATE ITSELF FROM NAWAKWI’S MISCHIEVOUS AND STUPID ACTIONS AGAINST HH

A LOOK AT NAWAKWI’S ABDUCTION CONSPIRACY

Let us lend credence to the cause that Forum for Democracy and Development (FDD) leader Edith Nawakwi is championing over the alleged abduction of the Pheluna and Milton Hatembo.

In Section 253 of the Penal Code of Zambia, abduction is defined as follows:
“Any person who by force compels or by any deceitful means, induces, any person to go from any place, is said to abduct that person”.

The elements that must exist and be proved beyond reasonable doubt to secure a conviction are established in the definition of abduction.
Section 153 of the Penal Code provides that there must be:
1. Force to compel, or
2. Induce through deceit,
3. A person as a result of 1 and 2 leaves a place
Only then do such actions amount to abduction.
Further, section 256 of the Penal Code provides for the offence and punishment of abduction as illustrated above.
It says “any person who kidnaps or abducts any person with intent to cause that person to be secretly and wrongfully confined, is guilty of a felony and is liable to imprisonment for seven years.”
To be clear, a person who induces through lies or uses force to compel a person to leave a place will be imprisoned for seven years if found guilty.

The law is as straight forward as this.

However, one needs to pause here and ask the question.
How is abduction proved?
Can it be proved in the absence of the person alleged have been abducted?
How then does the court hear evidence on the use of “force to compel” or “inducement through lies” that made a person leave a place?

The next question to ask would be: Who is the complainant in an abduction case?
Is it the person so compelled by force or induced through deceit or a witness to the said actions?

It is important for us to understand the elements of a crime and the circumstances surrounding such a prosecution in order to avoid using emotions.
Prosecutions based on emotions waste taxpayers’ money and divert the law enforcers from common everyday duties of providing security to members of the community at the lowest level.

There are many cases of burglary, house-breaking, theft, robberies and white-collar crimes that deprive our society of their ubuntu.

These are cases whose impact is felt large-scale unlike ones commenced for personal gratification.
Oftentimes, we have seen how such cases end up in the much-abused nolle prosequi.

Last week, Nawakwi called in to a radio programme whose topic was on something else but she was so overburdened with what she claims to be abduction evidence against United Party for National Development (UPND) leader Hakainde Hichilema.

In her call, she levelled the following allegations:
1. HH has abducted the Hatembo siblings who lost a case of illegal occupation of a farm they are beneficiaries of.
2. HH has confined the Hatembos to his house, which was why Tonga chiefs, and none from Namwangaland or the Northern region, were being arrested.
3. Pheluna Hatembo’s daughter called Nawakwi to complain about hardships they are facing because their mother is abducted.
4. Nawakwi periodically speaks to the Pheluna’s children and she also helps them
5. The Zambia Police must go and search for the Hatembos at HH’s house.
Nawakwi challenged HH to come clean on the Hatembos and also to meet her at Lusaka Central Police station.
6. When she was challenged to report the matter to the police, Nawakwi alleged that she had already done so.

Let us deal with her allegations in a non-emotive and factual manner.
Who is the complainant in the abduction case?
Nawakwi has revealed herself to be the complainant and the key witness.
Further, by her assertion that the police must search Mr Hichilema’s house for the Hatembos, Nawakwi is alleging that she knows their whereabouts.

How do the police search Mr Hichilema’s house?
As a former senior cabinet minister, Nawakwi cannot plead ignorance on the procedure of how search warrants are conducted.

Nawakwi is promoting jungle law that ends up in the slaying of innocent people.
She knows too well that search warrants are processed by the courts of law under the Criminal Procedure Code (CPC).

Section 118 of the CPC provides as follows:
“Where it is proved on oath to a magistrate that, in fact or according to reasonable suspicion, anything upon, by or in respect of which an offence has been committed or anything which is necessary to the conduct of an investigation into any offence is in any building, vessel, carriage, box, receptacle or place, the magistrate may, by warrant (called a search warrant), authorise a police officer or other person therein named to search the building, vessel, carriage, box, receptacle or place (which shall be named or described in the warrant) for any such thing, and, if anything searched for be found, to seize it and carry it before the court of the magistrate issuing the warrant or some other court, to be dealt with according to law”.

The section gives wide instances under which the court can authorise a police officer or any other person for a search to be conducted on suspicion or proof of commission of a crime.

Simply put, Nawakwi knows that she cannot direct the police to conduct a search.
But upon her complaint and, further, on a belief by the police of culpability of a commission of a crime, they can apply to a magistrate’s for issuance of a search warrant.

Nawakwi’s allegation and choice of delivery of such allegations are made to incite people’s emotions which can endanger public peace.
Just imagine what would happen if the perception that the police are not conducting a search on someone who is holding people captive in a known place is entrenched in the masses.
What would stop them from taking matters into their own hands and meting out ‘injustice’ to that person or anyone associated with them?
The bottom line is that actions and words of people who want to lead must be well thought out and intelligently calculated to avoid inciting the public.

Taking evidence to the police
Nawakwi further claimed that she has provided the police with evidence of Mr Hichilema’s culpability in the alleged abduction and, in a way, is wondering why he has not been arrested.
Nawakwi knows the procedure for effecting an arrest as provided for by section 90 of the CPC, which is illustrative.

1. Reporting to the police as she did or
2. Reporting to a magistrate who directs the police to arrest a suspect.
Surely, it is unbelievable that a person of her calibre, runs a political party and has legal advice at her disposal, can ignore these facts.
The question then begs: What is Nawakwi’s motive in playing to the gullible public gallery?

Nawakwi’s words about Tonga chiefs smack of tribalism and she should be called out for that.
The ordinary meaning of the words uttered is that Zambian citizens, including chiefs, support political parties based on tribe.
The fact that Mr Hichilema is Tonga by tribe and Nawakwi states that only Tongas should be arrested automatically associates the Tonga royals or the Tonga-speaking people to his alleged crime.
Nawakwi is also saying that no Namwanga is expected to be linked to the Hatembo disappearance because she, a Namwanga-speaking person, is not linked to their alleged abduction.
By extension, she is saying any chief from the North is also above suspicion because she, a daughter of that soil, is suspicion-free.

These underlying tribal remarks must be condemned in the strongest sense.

They undermine the very fabric of the One Zambia One Nation motto and erode our ubuntu.
We are a nation that was founded on “an injury to one is an injury to all” and history is replete with these examples, including the solidarity offered to Paramount Chief Chitumukulu when his subject, the late President Michael Sata, ostracised him.

Is it a coincidence that Nawakwi’s supposed courageous voice has never been recorded in the annals of history for condemning her fellow politicians and cadres who constantly issue degrading tribal remarks against southerners?

Challenge on HH to come clean and meet her at Lusaka Central Police.

This is baffling and may need more clarity from Nawakwi.
In one breath, she is ordering the police to search Mr Hichilema’s house as she claims to have submitted credible evidence that implicates him.
In the very next breath, she is begging him to show up at the police station on moral grounds so that he can prove his innocence?
Has Namwakwi forgotten that Mr Hichilema does not go to police stations alone?
He is escorted by sympathisers, just like Nawakwi’s brothers are escorted by sympathisers, including chiefs, when they are called for questioning by the Anti-Corruption Commission or when they appear to answer charges in court.
Having drawn this parallel, is Nawakwi blind to the fact that the police she so orders to search Mr Hichilema have been the source of death and much maiming on his sympathisers, which treatment is never extended to her brothers?
What, then, is the motive of begging Mr Hichilema to take himself to the police?
Is it for more lives to be lost?
By the way, we may need guidance if abduction can also be litigated as a civil matter under the realm of tort.
This is another opportunity for her to support the children she alleges to care for in getting justice.

Still on Nawakwi’s challenge for Mr Hichilema to come clean, hasn’t she had some several allegations levelled against her?
Why hasn’t she seen it morally fit to come clean?
The Bible says “do unto others as you would want to be done unto you”.
We shall not catalogue the allegations that keep dogging Nawakwi but some of them include the insinuation that ordinary electricity consumers are charged high tariffs because during her time as finance minister she wanted to please the foreign mine owners during her time and gave them cheap tariffs.
In short, Nawakwi is to blame for the expensive electricity we are paying for.
There are a lot of other allegations extending to the mutilation of the FDD constitution by overstaying her term limit as president of the party.
What about the one doing the rounds that Nawakwi is poised to be appointed running mate to the Patriotic Front (PF)’s presidential candidate hence the mudslinging on Mr Hichilema.

One would expect that with her vast experience, Nawakwi would have learnt that personal attacks or bad-mouthing a political leader is the fastest way to get that person elected in Zambia.

Do we need to say more on this topic?
What happened to the person some news media organisations once demonised as mad and could never rule?
What about the story of one who stole a client’s money and got suspended from a professional body?

Nawakwi should lend credence to causes that impact the majority of society.
Her voice is needed in talking about our medical facilities which have become waiting rooms to the mortuary.
Her voice is needed in speaking for school children who cannot afford university education and there is no money for the loans board to cover every deserving student.
Her voice is needed when the democratic space is shrinking and good governance institutions are betraying the initial spirit of the Garden House meeting where citizens galvanised for a free and democratic country and the rule of law.

The same way Nawakwi has effectively used the constitutional provision of “innocent until proven guilty” on many allegations against her, she must respect other people’s choice to use the same provision.

He who comes before equity must come with clean hands.
Here are the facts:
There is a Supreme Court judgment on how Nawakwi abused her political office by denying a widow an opportunity to buy a house entitled to her as a siting tenant.
Nawakwi has overstayed as FDD president beyond the constitutional provisions of FDD.
Is it not ironic that this is a person who vigorously campaigned against former president Frederick Chiluba’s third term attempt?
Has anyone thought of what kind of a leader Nawakwi would be if she were handed the instruments of power?
Then whom should people run from?
Nawakwi is the person people are supposed to run away from.
Here is one important question.
What is Nawakwi’s interest in stopping Mr Hichilema from being on the ballot?
Is it in the interest of the one million-plus voters who gave Mr Hichilema their trust in the 2016 general elections?
Besides, such statements undermine the integrity of the Election Commission of Zambia as she is suggesting that the electoral body should operate according to her instructions and those of her sponsors.
It is so shameful.
Just as in the case of the burning of markets, gassing of citizens, the killing of Nsama Nsama and Joseph Kaunda, the privatisation of state-owned enterprises, this alleged abduction case is a state-sponsored project to ensure that Mr Hichilema is prevented from being on the ballot in the August 12 general elections.

This campaign has equally reached a dead end and exposed Nawakwi and her chief sponsor Edgar Lungu to be frightened little and wicked people scared of only one person.
Why hate a fellow human being so much that they keep conspiring to exclude him from elections?
The conspiracy theory is yet another failed project.

Madam Nawakwi’s crusade against Hakainde Hichilema does not any way help us as Patriotic Front. Her actions are actually damaging to our aspirations to be retained into office after 12 August elections and the sooner we disassociate ourselves from her mischievous and slanderous campaign against our main rival in this election the better for our party.

We shouldn’t allow a desperate woman’s actions put out party and President’s name in disrepute.

CONSIDER HH, M’MEMBE …these are visionary leaders, we’re not short of a messiah – Mayangwa

A LUSAKA youth has observed that some disgruntled politicians have ganged up to fight those providing checks and balances to PF.

Dillon Mayangwa, a businessman, says there are people who have failed in their political lives and have sold out to the regime.

In an interview, he said “it is these same people” who have contributed to rotten political leadership in the country.

“I am very well aware of those politicians who have come together to fight those who are providing checks and balances to the PF leaders. Most of them are bitter,” he said. “When I talk of visionary consistent leaders, I am referring to serious politicians who know what they stand for. Leaders like HH (Hakainde Hichilema), Fred M’membe and Andyford Banda. As Zambians, look at these three men carefully, we are surely not short of a messiah. Zambia’s problems are man-made and can only be fixed with good leadership.”

And reacting to PF chairperson for legal affairs Brian Mundubile’s claim that the current economic position is genuine and that those in the opposition do not have a solution, Mayangwa said people’s intelligence should not be insulted by those who have failed to manage the country’s affairs.

He said if the PF have failed to govern and manage the economy, they should give the mantle to others.

Mayangwa stressed that the country was not in short supply of good leaders.

“We know PF is blinded by the power in their heads and the monies in their pockets which they have amassed in last 10 years such that they now feel there is no one who can come and fix the mess they have created. But, well, the sad news for them is that Zambia is bigger than PF, Zambia is greater than the mess they have created,” he said.

“Zambia is far wealthier than the resources they have mismanaged and we have consistent visionary leaders with a plan that can turn around the nation’s fortunes. When I say consistent, I don’t mean those politicians who change goal posts due to personal gains or to suit themselves.”

He reminded the PF to just accept that they have messed up the country.

“Whatever honourable Mundubile was trying to justify is totally unacceptable and he should be ashamed of himself. PF just need to accept they have messed up Zambia – them as PF, the God fearing government led by the humble God fearing President – and stop involving others who despite been labelled bitter losers tried their best to warn them of their reckless spending,” Mayangwa said.

He said the August poll would not be about the red and the green but Zambians against the PF.

“What will motivate Zambians in this election is the food on the table. Is it affordable? Education, employment for the youths, and money in people’s pockets, among other needs. Civil servants must ask themselves on whether they are happy or scared to be fired by cadres,” said Mayangwa. “For the farmers they need a man that will come and support the agriculture sector with good policies that would guarantee food security in the country. How do you explain a situation where a cadre at Levy Mall has an export permit for maize yet a commercial farmer in Mkushi can’t access the permit?”

PF are finished, behaving like mad people – Mweetwa

0

PF now are behaving like a group of mad people who don’t know what to do, UPND spokesperson Cornelius Mweetwa has charged.

Mweetwa, the Choma Central member of parliament, told The Mast that the PF had put up a very vigorous political scheme to destabilise UPND primary elections by infiltrating its rank and file.

He claimed the PF had poured a lot of money to derail the UPND primary elections.

He said the UPND had observed that some candidates that were not on the ground had surprisingly emerged victorious.

Mweetwa said the PF were promising candidates who have gone through primary elections and awaiting the national management decision colossal sums of money to defect to the Patriotic Front.

“And we have seen some candidates, the way they are behaving; even when you try to advise them on conduct, they are acting with impunity just to try and position themselves so that when they are not adopted, they go for quick money that they are dangling,” he said. “I am yet to confirm from our informants from within the centre of the PF as to how much money they are dangling for these candidates. But this political gimmick is in full gear and we are seeing it in the behaviour of certain candidates.”

Mweetwa said it should not be shocking that once the national management committee announces the adopted candidates next week, some of those that would be left out would cross to the PF.

“It is they who are the recipients of these colossal sums of money I am talking about,” he said.

Mweetwa said it was disturbing that the ruling party had also moved aggressively to purchase certain serving members of parliament of the UPND, including members of the national management committee to defect to it.

He said this was being done to portray an image that the PF was attractive and strong.

“On this one, I can confirm that the members of parliament who are being approached are being promised a Toyota Land Cruiser of a make of their choice and K2 million; that is the money which is being put on the table,” Mweetwa said.

He said PF were also promising UPND MPs that they would be at the centre of its campaign in the provincial and regional campaign centres where they would handle sacks and sacks of money.

“Some of them are being promised to be provincial and regional campaign coordinators who will be handling sacks and sacks of money to distribute to ground campaigners, in which programme they are going to benefit,” Mweetwa said.

He also said the PF were promising to nominate some, appoint them as ministers and some into the foreign service.

“Some of those who are leaving can’t even go and face their electorates because they have exited parliament through the door of shame, using Mr Speakers vocabulary. This scheme is very fortunate because it does confirm that the PF now is at its lowest ebb in terms of strength. When did PF start celebrating receiving members from UPND?” Mweetwa wondered.

He said now PF can’t do without UPND members of parliament and from structures joining them.

“They are finished. Because whereas there are these small movements of a few members of the UPND who are doing politics of the belly, who are hungry, or those who know that they have lost taste, they have lost their salt, popularity on the ground and cannot win re-election, the majority Zambians are now undertaking a great trek from PF to UPND, in terms of ordinary citizens of this country. Those who are tired of being fed on a menu of lies, failed, broken promises, leading to the collapse of the economy…” he said. “Those who were in Choma, and I know they have been informed, yesterday (Thursday) when honourable [Ackson] Sejani and four others were being released, they were thanking people at the party office. About five buses from various institutions, Nkrumah University, Mulungushi University, in huge Marcopolo buses, were heading to Livingstone where they have student games. When they passed there, all of the students delightedly waved the UPND symbol.”

Mweetwa thanked the students for their public show of solidarity and allegiance to the UPND.

He said the students were not being partisan but patriotic to the nation.

“This is what students in universities are known for, that when time for change comes, they make it public and open, they lead the way,” Mweetwa said.

He urged university authorities to rescind their decision to have the University of Zambia closed during voting.

Mweetwa said the PF knew that the ground in Lusaka had shifted but should leave the student to vote.

“In this vein, I want to comfort the PF not to cry foul when they begin to see people react. Our supporters wearing regalia stormed Chisokone Market to assess the state of UPND’s popularity. It turned into a bang, all the marketeers received our supporters with jubilation and ululations,” Mweetwa said.

He also said Zambians were beginning to show where they want the country to go.

“PF now are behaving like a group of mad people who don’t know what to do. They have lost the trajectory of leadership because you find that everything they are doing, it’s like the way the Bible puts it that before God destroys a people He makes them mad,” Mweetwa said. “Now how do you become mad? It’s not to go round picking papers or eating from dust bins, no. It is doing things that an ordinary person, properly composed in their mind cannot do.”

Mweetwa said the PF had failed to hold their national convention in line with the Republican Constitution which entails voting.

“There was no voting, no ballot was cast, nothing – just a list. So the PF convention was actually just a PF press conference to announce names of MCC members, not a convention,” he said.

He said the Constitution demands that before a party could field candidates for elections, such candidates must undergo primary elections.

Mweetwa said the PF had failed to hold primary elections in Western Province.

“They just used a press conference to announce names of candidates for Western Province,” he said.

Mweetwa said where candidates were unopposed, such were exceptional, rare circumstances.

“You cannot have the entire ruling party having all constituencies in a province going unopposed. If that were to be the case, we would still accept because PF is so unpopular in Western Province. Some of the candidates they begged them that ‘stand on our ticket notwithstanding that you will lose’,” he said. “They fail to hold a convention, they are imposing candidates and now very dramatic, they fail to unveil a manifesto! Because what they did that day, that so-called manifesto is a mockery and insult to the people of Zambia because the few things they propose to implement if ever elected into power, who stopped them from implementing those things all this time they have been in power? Did HH go to tell them that this no? Because the only name they know is HH. If HH was not there, PF would have been in pain to do politics.”

Mweetwa said the so-called PF manifesto was just a hoax.

“It’s not even smoke, because smoke is associated with fire; it’s just a political mirage. It speaks to their failure,” he said.

Mweetwa illustrated PF alleged failures in terms of a doctor who worsens a patient’s condition by administering wrong medication asking for more time to administer something else they had discovered.

He said Zambia’s economy in 2011 just needed panado.

“And then this doctor after receiving this patient who has come on their own, walking and just complaining of a minor headache then he begins to admit this patient and administer doses of wrong medication and this patient is about to die and relatives come and ask what has happened. Then the doctor says yes the situation has deteriorated, this person came walking, now he can’t walk, he is barely breathing, he is on oxygen, please give me more time I will prescribe a new dose of medication, I have discovered another set of medicine’, isn’t that a circus?” Mweetwa asked.

“Isn’t that comedy of the highest order? Where were they all this time? Why didn’t they do the things they are proposing to do?”

Mweetwa said right now the economy was lying flat on its belly and about to die due to PF actions.

“It is time to resuscitate Zambia’s economy by putting it on the UPND HH driven oxygen machine and not leave this economy in PF’s ICU; we will have no country to talk of after 2021 elections,” he cautioned. “Look at the impunity they are exhibiting! Look at the militia groups like the one they were exhibiting in Matero!”

He appealed to citizens to unite to defeat hunger,

political impunity, grand corruption, cadreism, and driving the country into a de facto one party state.

IT’S NOT A CRIME TO REFUSE CHURCH EMPOWERMENT FUNDS FROM PF

PRESS STATEMENT

26 TH APRIL 2021

IT’S NOT A CRIME TO REFUSE CHURCH EMPOWERMENT FUNDS FROM PF

When did it become a crime to refuse church empowerment fund from PF? PF must leave alone those that have refused to take part in looting this Country, don’t take them to task. Those that have refused have stated their reasons. PF was clearly told to channel that money to the needy areas such as buying of medicines for hospitals and other critical areas. PF was also politely asked to explain the source of money when the Country is clearly broke. The source of empowerment funds remains unknown to all Zambians. Will it be wrong for Zambians to speculate that PF is forcing churches to receive stolen money? Why should PF drag the clergy into committing a sin? Even Judas Iscariot took back the pieces of silver after realizing that was bloody money

We see the Minister of Religious Affairs going round the Country persuading the clergy to accept the church empowerment funds. We leave it to individual men and women of the collar to talk to their conscious and decide whether it’s morally right in the eyes of the Lord to betray Zambians that are dying out of simple ailments due to non availability of medicines in hospitals.

Our Men and Women of the collar should also consciously decide whether its morally right for them to receive heavy envelops from PF when their congregants are killing each other over a plate of nshima due to high poverty levels. Our Men and Women of the collar should ask themselves if our youths will forever live on handouts.

We have said it before that poverty in this Country was designed by PF in order to control Zambians politically. The church should provide leadership by telling Zambians the truth that PF has destroyed this country. How many of our Men and Women of the collar know the source of money PF is giving them? On earth it’s a crime to receive something that you suspect to be from the proceeds of crime. We believe it’s the same with our Holy Father in heaven. The church should serve mankind using the word of God with integrity not selfishness and crookedness. PF should use churches to repent their sins not showing off stolen wealth.

By A Correspondent- Former University of Zimbabwe Sociology department chairman during the former first lady Grace Ntombizodwa Mugabe’s controversial PhD, Doctor Watch Ruparanganda has made some stunning claims before the court when he said that Grace Mugabe was a ghost student who appeared from nowhere.

Dr Ruparanganda who is a third witness in the trial of suspended University of Zimbabwe Vice Chancellor Levi Nyagura said some of his duties when he was a senior lecturer at UZ was to ensure that the enrollment of the students was per the regulations but he claimed whilst he was working there, he never came across Grace. He said he doesn’t know Grace and he believes she doesn’t know him either.

“I don’t even know Grace Mugabe and even if she was here she wouldn’t have known me, she just appeared from nowhere, and it was through the grapevine that I heard that she was graduating with a PHD degree,” he said.

Dr. Ruparangada further stated that Mugabe was a ghost student as the board did not have any knowledge of her and the topic she was researching. They only came to know about her when she was about to graduate.

He said as the board, they were supposed to have known her qualifications to avoid enrolling standard six students.

“Mugabe was supposed to have seen me as the chairman like what other candidates like Thokozani Khupe did,” he added.

According to The Herald, Dr. Ruparangada told the court that, Professor Nyagura knew very well that for one to supervise a PhD candidate, he or she had to have the qualifications but instead he chose to select an unqualified friend of his to supervise the ghost student.

The former Vice-Chancellor is facing criminal abuse of office charges. The charges stem from the degree that was awarded to the former first lady Grace Mugabe by the UZ’s Faculty of Social Studies Department of Sociology in 2014.

The degree attracted intense criticism and speculation after claims that Grace did not defend her thesis, let alone write one, and that she did not take the required period to complete the doctorate.

His trial kicked off on Thursday last week.

Indian Woman Who Connived With Boyfriend to Kill Parents, Pleads For Mercy

0

A 38-year-old Indian woman who connived with her boyfriend to kill her parents, and other family members have pleaded for mercy.

The woman facing execution in India has applied for a review of her case in a last-ditch effort to avoid becoming the first woman to face death penalty in India since 1955.

Shabnam Ali has been held in northern India’s Mathura jail for the past 11 years after she, along with her lover Saleem, was convicted of killing seven family members, including her parents, two brothers and a 10-month-old nephew.

Back in April 15, 2008, just after 2 a.m. in Bawan Kheri, a village in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, neighbors woke as a woman cried for help.

Lateef Ullah Khan, one of the first to arrive at the two-story family home that early morning, found villager Shabnam lying unconscious on the floor near her father, Shaukat Ali, whose neck was slashed.

The bodies of Shabnam’s two brothers, her mother, sister-in-law and 14-year-old cousin lay almost beheaded in a blood-splattered room, court documents revealed.

Her baby nephew, was strangled to death between his parents’ bodies.

Not only had Shabnam murdered seven of her family members, including a 10-month old child, but she was eight weeks pregnant at the time of the heinous crimes.

Shabnam and her lover, Saleem, were found guilty of the murders and sentenced to death by hanging..

Shabnam laced her family’s evening tea with a sedative Saleem bought with the help of a fruit seller, court documents show. Then, as the family slept, Shabnam called her lover Saleem who arrived with an ax.

“Shabnam held up the heads of each member one by one and slashed their throats and killed them,” Saleem confessed the day after the murders to Bilal Ahmad, a tea seller with connections to the district police chief.

The court heard Saleem had hoped Ahmad’s connections would help him evade punishment.

Instead, Ahmad reported Saleem’s confession to the police and recounted in court what Saleem had told him:

“I have made a mistake, I am in love with Shabnam, a girl from my village, and she loves me too. We have vowed to live and die together. We cannot live without each other. Because of this, Shabnam’s family beat her up and said that they won’t let her marry me.”

Saleem also confessed the crime to a village administrative official, Mahender Singh, the day after the killings, asking him to use his political connections to keep him out of jail, Singh testified in court.

After the police arrested him, Saleem retrieved a blood-stained ax from a pond that was consistent with the murder weapon.

Empty packets of the drugs used to sedate the family were recovered from Shabnam, according to court documents.

Shabnam initially claimed some hoodlums had entered their home and committed the crime, but police dismissed the theory because the roof of the house was too high to scale while their house had well sealed doors .

If she is executed, Shabnam will be first woman given the death penalty in India since 1955.

But her legal team is trying to stop her execution claiming she is a victim, too.

Her Lawyer, Shreya Rastogi says her client, who never pled guilty to the crime, is a victim of a patriarchal society that puts caste above all else.

Shabnam and Saleem were young lovers who lived in the same village although their families didn’t approve of their union.

Shabnam, 22, was an educated teacher from the Saifi community. Saleem, then 24, was an unemployed Pathan youth.

Due to the caste system in India, families often pressure children to marry within their own communities and failure to do so can lead to disowning the child and, in extreme cases, honor killings, when family members are murdered for bringing alleged shame onto the family.

Before the killings, Lal Mohammad, the father of Shabnam’s deceased sister-in-law Anjum, told police about the couple’s relationship.

“Shabnam is going in the wrong direction, she wants to marry Saleem and the atmosphere at home is very tense,” Mohammad recalled Anjum as saying, according to his witness statement at Shabnam’s 2008 district court trial.

Sukkhan Ali, Shabnam’s cousin, told the court during the 2008 hearing that Saleem would often come to Shabnam’s house to meet her which made the father beat her,but her family didn’t know thT Shabnam was already pregnant with Saleem’s child.

In his ruling, the district court judge SAA Husaini observed that locals “would not have been able to accept the ‘haram’ (illegitimate) act,” referring to their unborn child.

However, the judge said the couple had other options to escape the “conservative society” of Bawan Kheri, beyond murdering seven people.

The prosecution argued Shabnam wanted to kill her family so she would be the sole heiress of their property and could live in comfort with Saleem and their newborn.

Shabnam and Saleem who murdered her family so they could be together, surprisingly turned on each other in the trial. Shabnam alleged Saleem alone had killed everyone. Saleem said Shabnam had been drinking wine and called him after she had killed her family, asking him to get rid of the evidence.

The district court found the pair guilty of murdering seven people, and sentenced them to death by hanging. They appealed to the High Court of Uttar Pradesh, as well as the Supreme Court of India, the country’s highest court, but each time, their claims of innocence were dismissed

The Supreme Court noted in its 2015 judgment that Shabnam had “feigned unconsciousness and laid by the side of the deceased father’s mutilated body, to callously insinuate that the crime had been committed by an outsider.”

Her lawyer, Shreya Rastogi claims that the crime created another ‘victim’, Shabnam’s son, Bittu (not his real name) who Shabnam raised in prison before giving him up.

Bittu now aged 12 is appealing to Indian President Ram Nath Kovind to show his mother mercy.

In February this year, after rumors of Shabnam’s impending hanging made headlines, Bittu held up a blackboard to reporters with a chalk message written;

“President Uncle Ji please forgive my mother Shabnam,” it said.

Shabnam’s lawyer, Shreya Rastogi, says her client’s relationship with her son should be taken into account.

Rastogi says life is not easy for Bittu as media attention was disrupting the young boy’s life and his ability to focus on his studies being the child of murderers.

In February this year, lawyers for Shabnam and Saleem filed a mercy plea with the governor of Uttar Pradesh state, as a representative of the President, and the President himself.

According to Rastogi, as per case law, when conferring a death sentence a court must look at the criminal beyond the crime, to see whether there exists a possibility of reformation and rehabilitation.

“What better way to understand a young mother than to see her through the lens of her relationship with her son?” Rastogi asked.

Some Indian activists who have been campaigning to abolish the death penalty feel that executing a woman for the first time in 66 years would be a step in the wrong direction for the country.

A United Nations resolution for a global moratorium on the death penalty introduced since 2007 has constantly been voted against by India.

As of March 31, 2021, 15 women were on death row in India, according to Amnesty International.

NAS, EVE, & SWIZZ BEATZ PAY TRIBUTE TO DMX AT BROOKLYN MEMORIAL

0

Two weeks after his death, DMX’s family and friends gathered to celebrate the life and legacy of Earl Simmons at a memorial at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on Saturday (April 24). The 50-year-old rapper’s blood red casket was driven from his hometown of Yonkers to Barclays in a monster truck with the words “Long Live DMX” written on the side, while flanked by hundreds of motorcycles.

The 90-minute ceremony, which streamed live on YouTube, opened with a viral video of DMX and one of his daughters riding the Slingshot roller coaster as he eased her fears. “Daddy’s here,” he said.

In an emotional moment, his 15 children came together to remember their father including Xavier Simmons, DMX’s eldest child, and another one of his daughters, who paid tribute to her dad with a rap in the cadence of X’s 1998 hit “Slippin’.”

“Ayo, I’m learning so much from my father / He taught me life is my story, I’m the author / He taught me to be strong, but it’s OK to be afraid / ‘Cause sometimes it’ll show you how to be brave,” she rapped.

n between tributes from family and friends, Kanye West’s Sunday Service Choir honored X’s Christian faith with gospel renditions of Soul II Soul’s “Back to Life,” Whitney Houston’s “Jesus Loves Me,” and the Clark Sisters’ “You Brought the Sunshine,” while gathered around the rapper’s coffin.

Donning army fatigues and Timberlands, Nas reminisced about filming 1998’s Belly with his “longtime friend.” “He looked at me, tears in eyes, because he knew about the journey he was about to embark on, becoming a hip-hop icon,” said Nas.

His Ruff Ryders family took the stage, one by one delivering powerful yet somber tributes including Eve, who recalled “a man, a father, a friend.” “I am seriously the luckiest woman in the world to have been adopted by Ruff Ryders,” said the First Lady of Ruff Ryders.

With tears in his eyes, Drag-On credited X for birthing his career. “I don’t exist without this man,” he said. “He taught me everything I know. The air I breathe is what he put in my lungs.”

Jadakiss said the past couple years were “the happiest that [DMX] ever was in life,” while Styles P remarked, “DMX was the ghettoest person that ever existed.”

Swizz Beatz was the last to speak. “I just wish all these people showed up for him when he was here,” said DMX’s longtime collaborator. “The things I’m witnessing from my brother’s passing, it’s a big educational thing for me to learn. A lot of people ain’t your friend, a lot of people ain’t your family. And I need everybody to do a will. You do not want strangers, bloodsuckers, handling your business when you’re not here. You want the ones that you love handling your business. But I’m going to make sure my brother’s straight.”

SOCCER Vs POLITICS! – Simataa Simataa

SOCCER Vs POLITICS!

For those that can remember, once upon a time, I cautioned Kalusha Bwalya publicly about engaging in politics whilst holding office at at the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) and the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

Further, it appears Kalusha’s involvement in politics opened him up to all manner of attacks from opposition people – not because of his football life but politics.

I was called names. Déjà vu, isn’t it?

My reasoning at the time, which basis I still hold regardless of who is, and will be at the helm of FAZ, is that the Code of Ethics for world mother governing body, FIFA, required those holding official positions in their national federations to be politically neutral.

In Zambia at the moment, this matter is akin to having all civil servants to mandatorily resign from the civil service before they seek political office.

My assumption is that drafters of the Republic of Zambia constitution put such a clause so that ‘politically active’ civil servants don’t discharge their duties in bias of the political parties they support.

Recently, I heard how an employee and a committee member of FAZ sought political office in an opposition political party where unfortunately, they miserably tumbled in the primaries.

So since these two have clearly showed their political colours, what would stop any Zambian from thinking that part of the reason our football is in its current sorry state is because opposition politics have permeated our number sport to sabotage government?

Put differently, if members of the ruling party took on these two politically, will they run to FIFA and cry political interference when back home in Zambia they’re political opponents?

Truth is the FIFA that they love to run to clearly states in its Code of Ethics Article 14 that persons under the code should be politically neutral.

It is this very basis that I asked the Great Kalu at the time to choose between politics or football. My position remains forbthose that are in FAZ now. RESIGN.

Therefore, I call upon the two to resign immediately. It’s the moral and ethical thing to do. RESIGN. Don’t blame anyone if ‘Ama Amelicans’ or PF youths smoke you out of your positions after all you have made their work easier by unmasking your political faces!

Sadly the politics of ruling party verses opposition have relegated law and order, ethics, morals to the dustbin.

Now that’s typical Me And My Big Mouth again.

Political Parties Holding On Adopted Candidates’ Names Until Last Day Are Inflicting Injustice On The Aspirants And Disservice To Their Parties.

0

By MacDonald Chipenzi
POLITICAL PARTIES HOLDING ON ADOPTED CANDIDATES’ NAMES UNTIL LAST DAY ARE INFLICTING INJUSTICE ON THE ASPIRANTS AND DISSERVICE TO THEIR PARTIES.

I have seen some political parties feeling shy to unveil their adopted candidates for the August 12 General Election on account that other political parties may grab either the adopted or indeed those left out.

I feel this argument is not genuine and also exposes unprincipledness inherent in political parties and their supporters’ non belief in the parties ideologies and values.

If political parties don’t trust their candidates to be adopted now because of the possibilities of being bought and shift political allegiance on being dangled with political bribes, then what make these parties be convinced that after ADOPTION and, later on, winning the election, those elected can’t be bought?

When does one have more value before election or after? I suppose it is after election. Now if political parties are scared of their candidates being snatched from them if not adopted or when adopted but before nomination, isn’t It then shaky political foundation?

My personal view is that it is better to have principles people before, during and after the election whom ypu can adopt any time and every time because they believe in your party ideologies and values.

Let us learn from the Socialist party led by Dr Fred M’membe. The Socialist Party candidates were identified and adopted last year and have been campaigning since then.

We have not heard that some of the adopted candidates have been bribed by some other political parties to switch political allegiance.

This is because members of the Socialist Party undergo trainings in the values of the party and socialism as an ideology, therefore, join the movement with true convictions.

If political parties does not disappointments, let them evaluate their membership and also train them in the ideals and values of the parties they associate with.

This will end these fears to unveil candidates on time as parties will be sure that it has true believers not vultures who just want to be MPs, Councilors and mayors/chairpersons at all costs and if left they defect.

It is candidate blackmail, injustice and mental torture to keep the applicants for adoptions in the state of guessing whether or not they have been adopted for such a long time

I submit!

Kapiri Mposhi UPND MP says he would rather retire from politics than join PF

0

KAPIRI MPOSHI UPND member of parliament Stanley Kakubo says he is not for sale at any cost.

Kakubo, who is UPND vice-chairman for the finance and economic affairs committee, also asserts that he would rather retire from politics, than join the PF.

In yesterday’s News Diggers, PF secretary general Davies Mwila was quoted saying UPND members of parliament in Stanley Kakubo (Kapiri Mposhi), Rasfold Bulaya (Mpongwe) and Aubrey Bambi Kapalasa (Katuba) are sellouts who should not be trusted by UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema, as they have been double-dealing with the ruling party.

Kakubo allayed Mwila’s assertion, at a media briefing held at the UPND secretariat in Lusaka.

“Mr Mwila is attributing me to being a friend of the Patriotic Front. I want to state very clearly this morning that there is absolutely no friendship between me and the Patriotic Front. We are UPND in Kapiri Mposhi and how I began in the UPND is that president [Hakainde] Hichilema noticed my natural attributes of a leader,” Kakubo said. “It is not President Lungu who noticed. I’m a fully sponsored UPND MP, backed by the people of Kapiri Mposhi and the traditional leadership there. We are fully united towards the cause of the UPND.”

He added: “as an UPND MP, I’m not a commodity.”

“I’m a Christian and as a child of God, I want to tell the people of Zambia that I have never ever had a conversation with the secretary general of the Patriotic Front, Mr Mwila. I don’t have his phone number and I have never spoken to him in person. If he has my number, thank you very much but no thanks. I’m not for sale at any cost. I have chosen the Zambian people and wherever they will go, I’ll go. If we must fail in this mission, we shall fail together. But I believe that we shall rise as a country,” Kakubo explained.

The lawmaker, who was flanked by Central Province UPND youth chairperson Milner Mwanakampwe, further indicated that there is no PF in Kapiri Mposhi.

“The people of Kapiri are solidly behind the UPND and president Hichilema. Even if I were to leave the UPND today, I would rather go into retirement or join any other party, except the PF. Let this be a resounding warning to the PF secretary general…He has never called me and let him not even waste his time to call me,” said Kakubo. “If he continues to talk about me, I’ll never respond to him. This is my final response to him! But I’m making it clear to him that I have no time for PF. I have no time for him (Mwila), because we differ very strongly on principle. My principles as a politician are very clear, that of public service – just like my president. Our intention is to serve the people of Zambia with dignity.”

Police must make Nawakwi account for the Hatembo’s revelations -South UPND

0

25:04:2021

Police must make Nawakwi account for the Hatembo’s revelations.

Zambia has laws which govern it. For a good number of months, Edith Nawakwi has been claiming publicly that the Hatembos were abducted by UPND members including our president Hakainde Hichilema. Her claims saw five of our Leaders arrested, detained and charged by Zambia police for abducting the Hatembos.

But a video has immerged were the Hatembos have put things straight by saying that they are not abducted or detained by any member of UPND. In the first video they said that after loosing a case in question in the courts of law, they decided not to appeal but Edith Nawakwi is busy pushing them to appeal.

The second video indicates that these people are running away because Nawakwi told them openly that if they don’t accuse Hakainde Hichilema over Kalomo farm, they will be killed.

They went further by saying that they have left their family which include a 30 years old child who can’t walk or do anything because of Nawakwi’s threats of having them killed.

These are serious revelations and we expected Zambia Police to move in and arrest Edith Nawakwi. Police can not claim that they have not seen the video circulating on social media.

Why should Nawakwi threaten to have other citizensn’s lives terminated and left walking freely. There is no one who is above the law.

As youths in Southern Province we demand that police should move in quickly and arrest Nawakwi so that she can face the law and allow the Hatembos to move freely. These people are living like slaves in their own country.

Law must not be selective in this nation. Innocent citizens are being arrested day and night when a person behind the whole issue is now known. Let Edith Nawakwi be arrested so that she goes and explain before the courts of law why she is after people’s lives.

Police should know that threatening any person is a serious crime. Why is this lady (Nawakwi) not arrested up to now if police are there to protect all citizens? Arrest Nawakwi and stop being of double standards as police if people are to have confidence in the institution.

THE NAWAKWI QUESTION: WHERE ARE OUR PROFESSIONAL POLICE ON THIS MATTER?

0

By Hon Kasololo Chisenga

One might indeed ask, since when has Nawakwi become a member of the police or investigative wings of Zambia?

The disappearance or the abduction of the Hatembos was trumpeted by her. This issue has received more media coverage and attention than the PF manifesto.

Sejani, a former cabinet minister in the Chiluba administration, Choma businessman Malambo, Mazabuka and Choma mayor Lilanda and Simoloka respectively, were detained for 30 days over the so called Hatembo abduction. To add to the list, they recently arrested and charged Queen Mukuni with the same abduction.

The Hatembos have however, appeared twice in recent videos, saying Nawakwi should leave them alone. They say it is her they fear since she threatened their lives.

One is tempted to ask, why a civil matter that the Hatembos no longer wish to pursue, has lead to so much government resources, being used to the extent of arresting current serving mayors and a Queen?

Nawakwi has openly said she wants to expose HH but it seems futile, when the complainants in the civil case, no longer want to pursue it. They have even said she was the busybody on the issue and even offered them transport money, which they now wish to refund.

The question that begs is, are the professional police, those who are thoroughly trained in investigative matters at Force Headquarters, really interested in this case? Already there seems to be a problem in that, the group that was arrested, were kept without trial for 30 days. It took the Livingstone high court to order for their release. This means the police kept them in custody illegally. Are the professional, well trained police aware of this misconduct?

So then what is really happening in Zambia? Who is calling the shots to keep people in incarceration for abduction, when the said abductees, keep showing up in videos alive and well and all blaming Nawakwi?

Is there someone professional enough and courageous enough to put an end to this seemingly nonsensical episode?

Let us remember Zambia is not an island, we stand surrounded by neighbouring countries who are all watching what is happening. We also have members of the diplomatic corps in our land, who are obviously discussing these matters at their lunch and dinner tables. We seem to have lost the plot.

If the Hatembos are no longer interested in the civil matter, the professional bodies should summon Nawakwi and tell her to stop it already. She is embarrassing us.

What is Nawakwi’s obsession with the Hatembos? Surely as president of an opposition party, is she not supposed to be busy organising an FDD convention to be re-elected?

Let us not continue wasting government resources on cases that do not make sense. Let the professionals step in and bring an end to this drama!

DEFECTIONS OF THOSE THAT HAVE GONE TO PF IS A SELF CLEANSING PROCESS AND ARE OF NO EFFECT -UPND

0

DEFECTIONS OF THOSE THAT HAVE GONE TO PF IS A SELF CLEANSING PROCESS AND ARE OF NO EFFECT.

The past few weeks we have watched the fake euphoria that has characterised the PF each time they have received a solitary individual that was once our member but has now chosen to trade his principles on the altar of expediency and selfishness. These have been defections of our former members that have sold out and decided to join the opulent feasting at the table of looters that have driven our once vibrant economy into junk status at the expense of advancing the poor people’s revolution to reclaim back our country and fix our economy.

While as UPND it is our long held principle never to talk ill of our former members whenever they choose to abandon the noble task to liberate our country from PF misrule and plunder of our economy, it is an open secret that those that are defecting to PF are either frustrated people that have been rejected by the grassroots and as such would not have been adopted to stand in the coming elections or are our former MP’s who are sold out for a few pieces of silver and took the side of the oppressors during debates and the voting on the rejected Bill 10.

Non of the so-called defectors has left solely based on principle. This is self cleansing and has no effect on our party. They have all left after realizing that we have rejected them after learning of their treacherous conduct whilst in the party. Our structures and general membership around the country are intact and solid as ever, so no one must be fooled. This coming election is about the people of Zambia and not about the dictates of the stomachs of a few selfish individuals who only care about themselves.

This election is not even about UPND or HH, but it is about the unemployed graduates that currently have no hope of ever finding a job, it’s about the bus owner and driver who is constantly harassed and extorted of money by PF cadres at bus stations, it’s about the many poor people that can’t afford to send their children to school, it’s about the poor farmers who can’t afford to buy farming inputs, it’s about a family with a sick relative who upon going to the hospital are given no medicine and are told to go home and wait for their loved one to die.

Those therefore that have chosen to join the wining and dining with the plunders at the expense of fighting for a noble cause, we can only wish them well. Their names shall be recorded on the wrong side of history. Come elections time the Zambian people shall resoundingly reject their lot and vote into government President HH and his alliance partners.

Ex-Arsenal striker Campbell to Kroenke: Sell Arsenal to Dangote

0

Former Arsenal striker Kevin Campbell wants Nigerian billionaire, Aliko Dangote, as the new owner of the English Premier League side despite Stan Kroenke insisting the North London club is not for sale.

Dangote’s long-time ambition of acquiring Arsenal hit a snag after the club’s director, Josh Kroenke, the son of Arsenal owner Stan Kroenke, revealed they had no plans to sell the club.

Kroenke stated this Friday following backlash from fans over their involvement in the breakaway European Super League.

Arsenal were one of six English clubs who signed up for the project before withdrawing amid a storm of protest from fans, players and the British government, alongside threats of bans and sanctions from the game’s European and world governing bodies.

While addressing the fans, Kroenke, whose father Stan Kroenke struck a deal to take full control of Arsenal in 2018, said they had no intention of selling and that they believed they were fit to carry on in their position as custodians of the club.

“We have no intention of selling; I believe we are fit to carry on in our position as custodians of Arsenal. We were put in a very difficult position by forces outside of the club,” Kroenke was quoted as saying on Sky Sports.

“We were put in a very difficult position by forces outside of the club. We have the same plans for summer that we had several weeks ago and I’m still excited about those.

“I might be met with mistrust and skepticism, but over time I hope to establish some sort of relationship with our supporter groups and show them we are capable of taking our club forward.”

However, Campbell and some Arsenal fans believe it’s time Dangote took over the club.

“100 per cent, I would love to see him take over,” Campbell said when he asked if he would welcome a Dangote takeover in an interview with Football Insider.

“First and foremost he is a massive fan of Arsenal. He is also one of the wealthiest guys around. He has got the money. That is the key. He has more than got the money.

“As a fan of the club he would want to put us back on the right footing. 100 per cent, I would love it to happen. I would absolutely love it.

“At the end of the day, all fans can hope for is an owner who cares. You want the owner to put the best possible product out on the pitch.

“It is not like how it was in the 70s and 80s. These football clubs are global entities.”

Dangote has never hidden his desire to buy the London club. Speaking in a Bloomberg report, the successful businessman in 2017 said he had coveted the club since 1980 when he became a fan and added that he hadn’t given up on the dream, adding that his plans to acquire the club were presently on hold until the completion of his $11bn oil refinery in Lagos.

Again, in 2020, the billionaire renewed his bid to acquire Arsenal.

“I would like to buy someday, but what I keep saying is we have $20bn worth of projects and that’s what I really want to concentrate on,” Dangote said.

“I’m trying to finish building the company and then after we finish, maybe sometime in 2021 we can.

“I’m not buying Arsenal right now; I’m buying Arsenal when I finish all these projects because I’m trying to take the company to the next level.”

Zimbabwe’s first female helicopter fighter pilot Annita Mapiye dies in crash

HARARE – Zimbabwe’s first female combat helicopter pilot was killed in a fiery helicopter crash in Arcturus, 32km east of Harare, on Friday.

Thirty-year-old Flight Lieutenant Annita Mapiye, who has flown President Emmerson Mnangagwa, was killed with another pilot, a wing commander, and a technician when an Air Force of Zimbabwe Bell 412 crashed into a house in the Hukuru neighbourhood.

A child who was on the ground died after the helicopter caught fire, while a young girl and her mother are admitted at Parirenyatwa Hospital in Harare after suffering burns.

Air Force of Zimbabwe commander Air Marshal Elson Moyo issued a statement offering his condolences, but did not name the crash victims.anita-mapiye-bell-412-760

But friends of Mapiye have been paying tribute to the history-making pilot on social media.

“She recently gave birth and this fact alone has devastated everyone who knew her and worked with her,” a friend said.

The Air Force said the crew, who took off from Manyame Air Force Base, was on a “general handling training sortie” over Seke and Domboshava when they lost contact, triggering a search and rescue effort.

Air Marshal Moyo said an air accident investigation would begin immediately to establish what caused the crash.

Mapiye joined the Air Force in 2012 at the age of 21.

In a 2019 interview, she said: “The road to where I am today was not a walk in the park. We were training with men, carrying out the same duties with them, and we were expected to perform equally.

“That’s when I told myself that I can do what men can do, and that became my everyday motto, and the motto kept me going.”

Mapiye came fifth in the basic military training out of 46 trainees, but would fly until 2015 when she sat in the cockpit of a Genet SF260 Fixed Wing.anita-mapiye-alouette-III-760

She admitted being terrified on her first flight. “My first day flying was a nightmare. I was screaming and my instructor was very annoyed,” she recalled. “I went home scared.”

After finally conquering her fears and passing her flight training, Mapiye enlisted for combat helicopter training. Her dream was to fly the president and rescue missions – both of which she accomplished before her death.

“My word of advice to other women and girls is they should always think positively of themselves and be innovative for change. Build your lives, think smart and be confident,” she said back in 2019.

Lungu should be apologising for his failed leadership instead of hoodwinking Zambians using a shallow PF manifesto – Sean Tembo

0

SEAN Tembo says the sudden unveiling of a manifesto by the Patriotic Front is an act of desperation that is designed to misled naive voters.

Tembo, president of the Patriots for Economic Progress, said the PF should be explaining why they have failed to deliver to the Zambian people in the last 10 years.

He said President Edgar Lungu should be explaining why more Zambians were sleeping hungry than when the PF found the country.

“As Patriots for Economic Progress (PeP), we have noted the manifesto that was launched by the ruling Patriotic Front Party yesterday [Wednesday]. Our view is that the sudden unveiling of a manifesto by the PF is an act of desperation that is designed to misled naive voters. As a ruling party, the PF is not entitled to make grandiose promises to Zambians of what it will do in future, through a manifesto. Given the fact that the ruling PF have had the instruments of power for the past 10 years, they should concentrate on explaining to Zambians why they have failed to deliver in this period, and it is up to Zambians to decide whether to accept such explanations or not,” Tembo said.

“As Patriots for Economic Progress, we wish to challenge President Lungu to explain to the nation why more Zambians are sleeping hungry today than in 2011 when the PF took over the instruments of power. The President should further explain to Zambians why the country has contracted more than US$20 billon in external and domestic debt in the past 10 years and yet the total value of infrastructure built over the same period is less than US$5 billion. President Lungu should further explain to Zambians why only businesses owned by PF ministers and senior officials are booming while the rest of the economy is in a steep decline. The President should also explain to the nation why during his tenure of office, members of his PF party have become so lawless to the extent that they can walk into a police station, beat up police officers and walk scot free with only a slap on the hand0.”

Tembo said only when President Lungu answered the questions will people start to discuss the grandiose promise made in the PF manifesto.

He said the amount of hunger and anger which the Zambian people were suffering from today could not be quenched with a set of empty promises in the PF manifesto.

“It is only after President Lungu has answered the above questions to the satisfaction of the citizens of this Republic that we can begin to discuss his new set of grandiose promises contained in the PF manifesto that was launched yesterday. As Patriots for Economic Progress, we are confident that the amount of hunger and anger which the Zambian people are suffering from today cannot be quenched with a set of empty promises in the PF manifesto. The Zambian people were gracious enough to give President Lungu a mandate to manage the affairs of the nation in 2015. The following year in 2016, his mandate was renewed because the period was too short to properly assess whether the President and his PF party had delivered or not,” he said.

“Five years later, the period is now adequate for Zambians to see clearly that President Lungu is not equal to the task of properly managing the affairs of this Republic, and must therefore be retired in the national interest. The President failed to grow the economy. The President failed to create jobs for Zambians. The President failed to protect Zambians from the perpetual harassment of his party members. The President has embarrassed the nation to our regional peers by over-borrowing and then defaulting without shame. There is literally nothing which President Lungu can claim that he will do in the next five years which he failed to do in the past 6 years.”

Tembo said at this point, President Lungu should be apologising to the Zambian people over his failed leadership in six years.

“At this point, instead of making fresh attempts to hoodwink Zambians using a shallow PF manifesto, President Lungu is supposed to be apologising to the citizens for his evidently failed leadership over the past six years. No Zambian has any energy left to start perusing through another set of empty PF promises contained in the PF manifesto at this point. The only energy which Zambians are left with is for casting their vote on 12th August in order to retire President Lungu and his PF party so that we can turn a new page in the journey of our beloved nation,” said Tembo.

Some people are wondering how a government that should be implementing policy can promises to remove road tax when voted for.

ADAMSON MUSHALA, Zambia’s MOST NOTORIOUS DISSENTER In HISTORY “He Gave Kenneth Kaunda Sleepless NIGHTS”
=================================

Perhaps the most notorious dissenter in the history of Zambia is the late Adamson Mushala, whose rebellion lasted from 1975 to 1982. He was initially a “UNIPist” and prior to Zambia’s independence was sent to China for guerrilla training with a view to coming back to overthrow the colonial government. But upon his return, Zambia was already independent. He then asked to be given the job of chief warden, but was turned down by the UNIP government. Mashala then joined the opposition UP out of frustration. But when the party was banned, he decided to go into exile in South Africa with a band of his followers.
His wishful dreams were diminished and he became disgruntled. He later become inspired by Jonas Savimbi’s UNITA’s activities in the pre and post independence Angola . He waged “war” against the Government of Kenneth Kaunda and actually agitated for the secession of North-Western province.

Mushala carried out terrorist activities in mostly rural areas; he burnt villages, abducted women and children and “enlisted” child soldiers. He was particularly known for his magical prowess; he evaded
detection by Kaunda’s soldiers when sought for, by “disappearing in thin air”. There is even a story about him having flirted Kaunda at State house several times in his invisible state. But his days were numbered! He was tracked and gunned down by a young Zambian corporal after a tip off from one of his “wives”. The secret was for his pursuers to strip their clothes naked to find and hit their target which had turned out to be true. The “Terrorist” had gone on his routine daily activity of hunting and bee honey collecting. His body was displayed for the nation to see. There were suggestions from some members of the public to have his body cremated so that the ash remains are put in museums. The group of young soldiers who had been sent for this almost impossible mission (for such missions were normally futile, ending up in heavy casualties on the side of the Army) were honoured for having achieved this feat.

In 1975, he transformed his group into a combat force and returned to Zambia to wage a guerrilla war, which ended when he was gunned down by Zambia Army soldiers on November 26, 1982. His second-in-command, Alexander Saimbwende, took over the reins and continued the terror campaign until September 25, 1990, when he surrendered to the late Alexander Kamalondo, then a member of the Central Committee for North Western Province, and was flown to Lusaka where he was later pardoned by President Kaunda.

By the late 1980s, historic and economic forces had seriously undermined the legitimacy of Zambia’s one-party state. All the countries in the sub-continent had become independent. Namibia was free and there were signs that apartheid in South Africa would eventually come to an end. Democracy was equally taking root in Eastern Europe and communism had crumbled in the Soviet Union. The economic situation in Zambia was also deteriorating: low standards of living, lack of basic food stuffs, rising unemployment, poor social infrastructure and the rapid depreciation of the Zambian Kwacha.

On October 31, 1980, a “Mister Cheese” informed the then Director of Intelligence Services that some people at a farm in Chilanga, a few kilometres south of the capital, Lusaka, were plotting to overthrow the Zambian government. The second battalion of the Zambia Army was ordered to raid the farm. After exchanging gun-fire, eight suspects were arrested. They included State Counsel Edward Shamwana, the late Valentine Musakanya, Godwin Yoram Mumba, Anderson Kabwili Mporokoso, Thomas Mpanga Mulewa, former vice president in the Third Republic Lieutenant General Godfrey Miyanda and some Zairean citizens — Deogratis Symba, Albert Chimbalile and Laurent Kanyembu.

After a trial which lasted 11 months, trial Judge Dennis Chirwa, acquitted Lt. Gen. Miyanda and found the rest guilty. But this did nothing to change the depressing situation. The economy continued to slump while the standard of living spiralled downward. Also, the acute shortage of essential commodities, glaring nepotism and corruption continued. The price of the staple diet, mealie meal, also continued to increase steadily, while workers’ salaries stagnated.

On October 5, 1988, another group of 16 men were picked up for allegedly trying to unseat the Kaunda government. The group included late former Vice President Christon Tembo, Ex-energy minister Benjamin Mwila, High Commissioner to South Africa Colonel Bizwayo Nkunika, former ministers Bob Litana and Wilfred Wonani and former Zambia Railways managing director Emmanuel Hachipuka. Others were Peter Vundamina, Harrington Kayela Chishimba, Major Patrick Shula, Major Knight Mulenga, Major Nixon Zulu and Captain Wamulume Maimbolwa. The late John Kalenga, Donald Sadoki and Matiya Ngalande were also part of the group. Warrant Officer Christopher Chawinga and others were also picked up days later, accused of trying to rescue the group.

In May 1990, government increased the price of mealie meal, triggering a wave of riots in Lusaka and the Copperbelt. These riots seriously undermined the political atmosphere and an army lieutenant, Mwamba Luchembe, took advantage of the opportunity and announced on July 29, 1990, that the army had taken over. Three hours later, the attempted coup was crushed and Luchembe and a number of his alleged accomplices were detained. An outspoken politician, Chiko Bwalya, was also arrested for celebrating Luchembe’s coup attempt. But they were all released months later following a presidential pardon.

This coup attempt, coupled with growing public pressure, and pressure within the UNIP for democratisation somewhat rattled Kaunda, who immediately set October 17, 1990, as a referendum date to decide on whether to return to multi-party democracy or to maintain the one-party system.
At about the same time, a new political force was born. The national interim committee of the Movement for Multi-party Democracy (MMD) was formed to mobilise public opinion to support the return to plural politics. In July 1990, advocates for plural politics met at the Garden House Motel, in Lusaka, to press the government to return to multi-party democracy. This saw the birth of the MMD, which comprised mostly disaffected members of the UNIP government, some trade unionists, academics and other professionals, and aimed to sensitise people on the need for a return to “full” democracy.

With clear public support in favour of the restoration of multi-party democracy, President Kaunda cancelled the referendum and instead announced constitutional changes for a return to multi-party politics. Kaunda also set October 31, 1991, as the date for multi-party elections. The MMD, led by trade unionist Frederick Chiluba, won the elections and Kaunda, in a rare act of benefaction, handed over power..

It Was My First Time Sleeping In Cells And It Was Very Humiliating – Queen Mukuni

IT WAS MY FIRST TIME SLEEPING IN CELLS AND IT WAS VERY HUMILIATING QUEEN MUKUNI TELLS CIC.
The famous happening name of the moment going by details as Queen Mukuni the wife to the Zambia’s famous chief told CIC that it was a very traumatic experience for her being the first in her life and being very humiliating. CIC paid a courtesy visit together with UPND officials led by Kantombola UPND MP Hon Derick Livune, Kazungula Aspiring Council Chairperson Ms Mbozi Tatila with many officials.

The ever smiling Queen has been the trending name on social media when her arrest sent the media storm into alwe. She was co accused and charged together with Choma Mayor, Mazabuka Mayor and two others over Abduction of the alleged Hantembos a situation she described as baseless and not making sense.

She narrated off camera how the situation was like and said for the first time she never knew what Zambians of other types of lives than her used to go through until that experience came on her unaware and very humiliating. She has however said that as innocent as she is it was nothing to her because being accused in an absurd case like that she left everything to God.

And palace staffs warned the government not to drag the chiefdom into petty partisan battles because the palace has sensitive matters and standards that gets disturbed at the moment an embarrassment like that occurs. She said from the moment the queen was taken the palace was not the same things where going to go bad to worse that political battles should be done outside palace business because the chiefdom was not involved in any political battles.

And Kantombola UPND member of parliament Hon Derick Livune has questioned where are other chiefs in the country the likes of Chitimukulus, the Mpezenis, Gawa undis etc for them to allow government to humiliate chief MUKUNI like that. He stressed that it wasn’t a good thing because when Chitimukulu was under trouble from late Sata it was Mukuni who took care of Chitimukulu therefore it was shocking that the queen of the palace would go through such while the so called big chiefs of Zambia folds hands to watch. Hon Livune reminded the chiefs saying being silent when one chief is under unfair humiliation for political reasons next would be another one and the trend could go on. He said he is very disappointed that no single chief conderned what is happening to Chief MUKUNI in a country that proclaims as the Christian Nation.

And Kazungula UPND youth Chairperson has said the humiliation that the Queen went through was the first and last because Kazungula District youths would die defending her and the entire chiefdom the police would have to go through them before getting to her.

Ms Mbozi Tatila Mulako the Aspiring Council Chairperson for Kazungula District which Mukuni Chiefdom falls under said that it was so traumatic experience as the news of her arrest brought alot of things to a standstill it shouldn’t repeat itself. Ms Mulako said that the government’s provocation against the people of Kazungula was getting out of hand and at an alarming level with the potential to disturbilize the peace of the nation because chiefs are not politicians.

ADVICE TO PF ON ITS 2021-2026 MANIFESTO

By MacDonald Chipenzi
ADVICE TO PF ON ITS 2021-2026 MANIFESTO.

It will be wrong for a married man for 10 years who has failed to have children with his lovely wife of 10 years to compete with the unmarried men in strategies in resolving his impotency problem.

The Man must pursue the route of undergoing a fertility treatment or go to a traditional healer for some administration of some herbs not MAKING PROMISSORY NOTES FOR 10 YEARS and beyond.

The woman is desperate for a child in shortest time possible or else divorce is eminent and then out of desperation the man start making difficult-to-fulfil promises?

Buying a woman lipsticks, lighting cream, Brazilian hair, cars, houses and other cosmetics and nice dresses will not make her not want for a child.

We, Zambians, have been waiting for solutions from the PF for the past 10 years to resolve the skyrocketing commodity prices, runaway exhange rate, non-repeal of the archaic laws, non-conducting continuous registration of voters, non-decentralisation of judicial and electoral services, ineffective fight against corruption and public resources abuses, youth and adult unemployment, police partiality on enforcing political issues and poor governance in general among others.

Instead of finding solution, the PF (husband) is busy making new mega promises that, if the Zambian people (wife) do not divorce PF in search of a potent man, PF will abolition road tax, adequately fund the ACC, ECZ and other governance institutions and make them effective conduct their statutory business, in the next 5 years.

Currently, the PF controls the legislature, judiciary and executive arms of Government. It controls the national treasury that contain all our revenues from various taxes and appreciates hugeness of the debt it has accumulated for the country in the last 10 years.

Why is PF failing to abolition the road tax, fund adequately the ECZ, ACC, decentralised the National Prosecutions Authority (NPA) to provinces, employ all unemployed adults and youth, stock hospitals with essential drugs?

What miracle will.be performed after the August 12 General Election to enable an impotent husband to now start promising for indiscriminately impregnate his wife of 10 years with twins when pregnating for just a single child had been a nightmare?

If this is not just a tool for canvass for votes and fear of losing the wife (Zambians) to another man during the August 12 General Election, what would it be?

Remember to read Rev 21v 8 on what the bibles says about liars and the destinations.

Ngomwa ni Ngomwa (An impotent man is just impotent) no amount of promises will make him impregnate a woman.

NDC would rather stay in alliance with UPND- Akafumba

0

WE would rather stay in the alliance with UPND if it is losing lose with dignity than change colours at given opportunity, says Josephs Akafumba.

Speaking on Spring Television’s Crossfire on Monday evening, Akafumba said his team has no common goal with Chishimba Kambwili who has decided to dine and wine with the same people he was insulting and condemning not long ago.

He said Kambwili who considered his fellow leaders as underweights declared that he would rather work with the PF but nobody sane in the NDC is ready to agree with him.

“I don’t think really there is something that we have in common now with him having gone to the very people that he was insulting, castigating and telling the Zambian people that these are the people that have brought misery and poverty and now you want us to go and wine with them…No!” Akafumba said.

He charged that from the start, Kambwili was uncomfortable to work with the UPND based on nothing but tribe.

Akafumba urged Kambwili to be sincere stating that nobody chose to be born the tribe they are for one to be judged based on their ethnic group but based on their character.

“To publicly pronounce that aba Tonga babi, these Tongas are bad people, I don’t think I would be in that camp. I don’t think it’s right to condemn people based on tribe. For Kambwili to today say Hakainde Hichilema is a very bad person, I find it extremely sad,” he said.

And Akafumba said the Congress held in Kitwe and other places around the country by Kambwili’s faction was a product of a poisoned tree.

He said whatever pronouncements that were made in Kitwe are null and void owing to the disregard of the court injunction.

“It’s illegal and inconsequential. Why am I saying this? There was an injunction against Dr Kambwili, his agents or servants but the way they read it themselves is that the injunction was only for Dr Kambwili and the rest could do whatever they wanted to do. That was not the case. After we got that injunction and duly served on them, I do recall him holding a press briefing saying this only applies to me but we let them run around and felt pity for them in the sense that they misunderstood the injunction and what followed next was that they applied for stay of proceedings pending payment of costs,” Akafumba said. “That to me didn’t work well for them because those so-called costs were not even taxed so they delayed the hearing of the injunction.”

He said the Kambwili group thought that a stay discharged the injunction but that it didn’t as it was in full force.

Akafumba recalled that later his team applied for leave to commence contempt of court proceedings against Kambwili and his agents.

He regretted that even after leave was granted Kambwili and his agents have been ill-advised stating that it is just permission and means nothing.

“You are in trouble. It does not mean nothing so what we got now is a notice of motion. I have a notice of motion and I will read to you what it says. This notice of motion says, ‘Take notice that pursuant to the leave of the honourable court of madam Justice M Mulanda given on 16th Day of April 2021, the court will be moved on the 29th Day of June 2021 at 08:30 hours or soon thereafter as counsel can be heard on the application on the applicant’s behalf for an order of committal to prison of the first, second, third and fourth respondents for reasons set out in the affidavit…’ So you to dance that is leave you are mistaken because for now you have to show cause on the 29th why you should not go to prison for having ignored an order of injunction,” Akafumba said. “If what you said is correct, why do we have this committal against you? So where they are now, they have disobeyed an order of the court and went ahead to have that congress of theirs even when there was an injunction restraining them to do so and they knew very well. They are in contempt so whatever they did in Kitwe was just a waste of time and money.”

Akafumba said his team was going to add more to the contempt list for ignoring an order of the court.

He said he has proof that the Kitwe congress was organised by Kambwili as a chief funder as opposed to his claim that he was only called to be conferred with the designation of president of NDC.

The proposed 24 hours economy in PF Manifesto will create jobs for Zambians-Habazoka

0

The Economic Association of Zambia president Dr. Lubinda Habazoka says the proposed 24 hours economy enshrined in the 2021/ 2026 PF Manifesto is very important and it will create jobs for Zambians.

Speaking when he featured on the PF Interactive Forum in Lusaka, Dr. Habaazoka said national development is what the country need for it to survive.

Dr. Habaazoka said running a 24 hours economy is what is required to stir economic growth.

He said in a country where the resources are scarce, introducing shifts among workers is a good idea saying this will help the country continue making wealth round the clock.

He said restricting working hours to a particular time is tantamount to limiting the economic activities in the country.

” Converting an economy to a 24 hours economy, will create jobs for citizens and it will enable those who have the capacity to work at night to do so,” he said.

Meanwhile Dr. Habaazoka has welcomed the latest Fitch rating because it shows the positive economic outlook of the country.

Dr. Habaazoka said one of the conditions used for rating was the stability of the local kwacha.

He said Zambia did not default its debt liability and this provided confidence among the creditors.

Meanwhile, Patriotic Front media director Sunday Chanda has condemned the Foundation for Democratic Process (FODEP) for questioning why the Patriotic Frong (PF) has launched another manifesto for the period 2021-2026.

Mr Chanda has described FODEP’S position as undemocratic adding that it is a well known fact that every political party has to renew their social contract with the Zambian people.

“We find the reasoning very erratic and worrying for an organization meant to champion democratic processes and tendencies in this country” he said and emphasized that every political party should have a manifesto as they go into an election.

He has since invited FODEP to track the promises PF made in every sector and mark it based on the successes which have been achieved so far.

Mr Chanda who has described the manifesto as homegrown said it is worrying and strange for FODEP to question why a manifesto should be launched when they know its importance.

As he acknowledged that the PF’s 2016-2021 has had setbacks and challenges, Mr Chanda, therefore, challenged FODEP and other stakeholders to have a ‘sense of responsibility and be objective in their criticism and give credit were it is due.

“Where we stand, ours is a balanced scorecard, we can go to the Zambian people and say this we promised and this we failed to deliver. We will be courageous enough, magnanimous enough to acknowledge our shortcomings” he said.

He said the PF has done very well in many sectors based on the manifesto but has unfortunately not been appreciated or acknowledged.

“Mr. Chanda cited the recent upgrade of Zambia by FITCH as not having received any commendation or even appreciation from stakeholders like FODEP, other civil society organizations, and even from the UPND.

He however recalled that when Zambia was downgraded, the same stakeholders who said a lot even against the economy and President Edgar Lungu are quiet now and want to pretend that there has not been an upgrade.

Chinese Police detain married woman for defrauding 13 boyfriends

CHINESE Police have arrested a married woman for defrauding her 13 boyfriends.

Lu Yanyan from Henan province went viral after news reports of her dating 13 boyfriends at the same time went online.

Ordinarily, dating 13 boyfriends at the same time would not make a national news, but she defrauded her “romantic partners” about 400,000 RMB.

Her “boyfriends” Upon discovering that she was involved with many men, they formed a group chat named “Nanyou”, a play-on-word on the sound of the Chinese word for “boyfriend,” well, in this case it implied “friends who went into hardship” — perhaps and rightly on this context, together.

The said “boyfriends” formed a group chat and arranged a time to meet so they could go to her home where they were met with a surprise of their lifetime.

It turned out Lu Yanyan was not single, but she was married and had a child.

“She looks fresh and very beautiful, who would have thought that she is a liar, not to mention that she can be so good at lying. From the police station, we learned that she was not only married, but also has a child.” One of the “boyfriends” said.

One of the victims, Mr. Zhang, said that after learning the truth, he felt a pitty that she did not pursue an acting career.

He added that Lu portrayed herself as a very soft-spoken, broken and sad woman in front of him. He added that she could make any man feel sorry for her, fall in love and willing to help her.

“I’ve never seen someone so ruthless before, I can only imagine the bad people on TV that can match her personality. I am gnashing my teeth just to think of her right now.” Said Zhang.

According to Zhang, he met Lu Yanyan on a blind date and they fell in love. Lu later borrowed from him 20,000 yuan saying that if he love her he will be willing to borrow her that much.

But he soon found that he was cheated and him with other men connected to her formed a group chat which they called “Nanyou” to track her down. In it, there were 13 men who were cheated a total of 400,000 yuan by Lu Yanyan.

Lu Yanyan was reported to the authorities and is now detained by the police for proven fraud cases involving two of her “boyfriends.” The case is still under further investigation.

Still, netizens can’t get enought of the story, thinking that she must be so beautiful and good at acting to scam all these men and maintain the relationship with multiple boyfriends at the same time.

HH Is Motivated By Revenge Against Those He Has Issues With – GBM

HH IS MOTIVATED BY REVENGE AGAINST THOSE HE HAS ISSUES WITH, CHARGES GBM

Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba (GBM) says opposition UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema wants to get into power to come and revenge against people he has issues with.

And GBM said Kambwili is welcome to the PF, saying President Edgar Lungu was a humble leader who would find a position for him.

GBM also claimed that the country’s economy has been strong for a very long time, despite the pandemic.

Speaking with Daily Revelation, GBM, who is a central committee member in the ruling PF, said his journey from when the PF was in the opposition into the ruling party, and then defecting to the UPND before rejoining the ruling party again had taught him to understand different types of leadership, saying Hichilema was not a good leader.

“And this is I have to be very specific, the experience that I had with president Hakainde Hichilema I think leaves much to be desired. Zambian people may think from the face that he looks a good man some people today are supporting him to say that he may turn this country around, which I don’t believe. He will only turn the fortunes of his pockets around,” GBM said. “All he wants is to get to State House once he gets to State House, he amasses wealth and he’s going to divide this country. Believe me Zambians so if you make a mistake and think that Hakainde Hichilema is the best president I think you are cheating yourselves.”

GBM accused Hichilema of being motivated to settle scores against those he felt had offended him.

“But for Hakainde Hichilema I think he has other issues with other people where he would want to come and revenge if he was put in that position. So for me I don’t think I will like in fact Hakainde Hichilema to be even closer to power. And if I where him even from what is happening now where he’s losing senior members of his party enmass I would actually think of retiring,” GBM said. “The little money that he is spending now, in fact on the general election which will be on August 12, he must save it for his children and his grandchildren if he has so that he doesn’t leave politics or he doesn’t get out of politics a very miserable man. Because once he exhausts all his reserves you know he will hate politics and he will d…CONTINUE HERE

Tongas Are Hurting, Crying And Bleeding Inside Quietly They Are The Most Provoked Tribe In Zambia – Edward Makayi

0

By Edward Roy Makayi.

TONGAS ARE HURTING, CRYING AND BLEEDING INSIDE QUIETLY THEY ARE THE MOST PROVOKED TRIBE IN ZAMBIA FOR TOO LONG BECAUSE OF DOING NOTHING BUT WHO THEY ARE BUT THE CONSEQUENCES OF TOUCHING THE LION KING’S WIFE SHALL FOLLOW HON STEPHEN KAMPYONGO WHEN HE LEAST EXPECTS THEM THIS IS HOW KAMPYONGO HAS DECAMPAIGNED LUNGU IN SOUTHERN PROVINCE.

….Does president Lungu have loyal Intelligence officers telling him the truth what this move Hon Kampyongo did on chief mukuni means to the political presidency of him and PF image? Well as if I care though his lucky chief mukuni gave him 48 hours messing with any Northwestern chief he can’t even have an hour without having his entire generation burnt to ashes instantly….

Well nobody is idolizing Senior Chief Mukuni or may I add high respect by calling him Paramount Chief Mukuni but all we are saying is that when the Bible said touch not my anointed I think chiefs are inclusive. Yes that is it but truth be said someone by the name of Stephen Kampyongo is under a heavy curse and various consequences ahead of him for messing around with sacred people with his political foolishness. It’s fit to tell him in advance that R.I.P already because when I look at him or imagine his life it’s already done he is a moving mummy it’s just a matter of time. Hon Kampyongo has provoked and dared both heavenly Gods supremacy authority bestowed onto chiefs who have been custodial rulers for generations and earthly ancestral lineage of respect embarrassed in that manner either way he is gonna pay a heaviest price of his life.

Where I come from traditional affairs, regulations, rules, conditions or anything that governs the well being of chiefs and traditions is fell safe as sacred.

In a practical example in my culture for instance there are certain instructions we are told as boys not to do and no one is allowed to question why or what happens when one does them. These are instructions from generations to generations nobody knows what the full explanations are but everyone is just taught this is this it should be this nothing like why. Am to tell my son that this is this and it should go on like that. In 2003 one of my relative questioned that instruction against the traditional norm and regulations he was abit older than all of us and well educated than little toddlers some of us where , I was in grade 6 by then and this guy was in grade 10 academically he was more learned than all of us. He vowed to break the instruction and questioned that if someone doesn’t tell him what it means then it’s a foolish metaphor he is not ready to obey. He was warned that going against that was as good as him challenging the authority of the ancestral setup because no one alive can explain anything and get away with it he never listened.

Well against any advise you can think of our colleague never adhered to anything and went ahead to challenge the Luvale traditional setup embarrassed the tradition in public same way Hon Kampyongo has done to the Toka-Leya royal establishment and called himself educated and civilized. Some of us got so shocked and frightened on his behalf because we where taught nobody does that and goes free. There are certain fundamental rules, standards and regulations that are meant to be followed without questioning. A week after breaking the record the guy was okay and moved on like nothing happened, it was a month and another month in the 4th month we all forgot it, it was shocking the sudden turn of events that started happening to our colleague. The guy could shit himself and say he is ok, he can urinate in his trousers and says it’s fine, he would eat without washing hands, at times goes outside naked and says he doesn’t want to dress up. The shocking of them all was after he was making love to his woman he went outside naked and started explaining what happened inside the house. The situation was getting out of hand taken to hospital nothing was found wrong as all body functionally organs where okay including the brain system. He was put under extreme observation to no avail. He was taken to the witch doctor who just said the man died long time ago there was nothing he could do ati he did something very big wrongly and he was killed for it. By the time elders got a clue of what exactly was happening it was about 5 months later and all of us where summoned to witness what daring traditional customs mean. One day he woke up very normal told everyone he was going somewhere all his senses got back to normal and nobody could doubt it. He went to Zambezi river highly infested with crocodiles and threw himself in the river and was eaten like a sandwich cake within a very short time and the story of him ended. Elders gathered us to tell us it was beyond them because he was warned but never listened. Luvale tradition is different from Tonga tradition, Bemba tradition, Ngoni tradition and so on but one thing in common is that tradition of any kind has it’s own heritage that defines it. In my life at whatever level I will never disrespect any traditional leader of any tribe both in Zambia and beyond because where I come from it’s my sacred duty to respect these norms. Hon Kampyongo is uncultured street kid who has no regard because where he is he has no clue what value or importance are traditional rulers in this country beyond politics you should all understand why I take this man because he is useless and has no governance manners at all befitting the status of a Minister he is simply a very useless human being I hope when PF gets zeros in Southern province they should ask their campaign manager Hon Stephen Kampyongo and am urging all Southerners not to give even a single vote to PF for what Kampyongo has done to our respected chief unless one Southerner is a fool beyond repair.

There is literally nothing wrong the Queen of Tonga speaking people did to deserve that embarrassing humiliation from a kapyopyo of a person called Kampyongo could today order the arrest of MUKUNI’S highly respected ruler. The consequences are coming not today, tomorrow or that day but surely they are coming and it won’t be a nice show.

Former late president Micheal Sata’s driver was ordered to hand over the keys to a nice vehicle at the palace of Paramount Chief Mpezeni in Chipata. The chief liked the car in the presidential entourage he just told the driver to hand him over the keys and go because that car was now the chief’s car the driver tried to protest he was chased. And when the news reached state house President Sata blasted the driver for trying to protest saying my dear chiefs are not your friends you really think you can do anything against them?.

Back to our short story. President Edgar Chagwa Lungu must be very careful with Hon Kampyongo. The man is decampaigning PF so much and when PF get zeros in Southern province don’t complain or call them tribal these people are hurting too much and have been provoked for so long without mercy. One day they will rise and it won’t be good at all.

As of yesterday in Choma and Livingstone no one is speaking good of PF, their image is at their lowest level ever in history thanks to Hon Kampyongo. And if president Lungu has any aorta of remorse for his image politically he wouldn’t keep damaging kapyopyo of a Minister called Kampyongo as home affairs Minister beyond this point unless Lungu has no intelligence officers telling him the truth how Kampyongo has decampaigned PF successfully in Southern province and the entire Zambezi region because no one is happy at all. Let him try that foolishness elsewhere eg Northwestern province and see applied science he has never heard of that bold head of his will be our International airport.

LAZ applies to join Sangwa’s petition on judicial financial independence

0

By Mwaka Ndawa

THE Law Association of Zambia says it has decided to join forces with constitutional lawyer John Sangwa in a matter where he has petitioned the state over the powers given to the President to propose the emoluments and conditions of service for judges, for being in excess of Article 123 of the constitution.

According to a press statement issued by honorary secretary Sokwani Chilembo, the Association has applied to join the matter as the second petitioner because the petition boardered on the independence of the judiciary.

“It is public knowledge that a petition bearing cause No. 2021/CCZ/0012 was
filed in the Constitutional Court on April 16, 2021 by Mr John Sangwa SC. In that Petition, the Court is being invited to consider specific provisions of the constitution that relate to autonomy of the Judiciary,” Chilembo stated.

“The Law Association of Zambia (LAZ) has had occasion to study the said petition, and is of the view that it raises serious constitutional issues that are at the core of constitutionalism and the administration of justice in Zambia.”

Chilembo said LAZ believed that the matter was in line with its mandate under Section 4 of the Law Association of Zambia Act, Chapter 31 of the Laws of Zambia, and that it was important for the association to join the proceedings.

“It is against this background that LAZ has made an application before the Constitutional Court to join the proceedings as second Petitioner, to support the Petition,” said Chilembo.

State Counsel Sangwa has cited the
Attorney General in the matter seeking a declaration that authority given to the President to prescribe emoluments and make regulations prescribing perquisites and conditions of service for judges were ultra-vires Article 122(3) of the Constitution, which guarantees autonomy of the Judiciary.

Sangwa wants the ConCourt to order and compel the Minister of Finance to put in place measures satisfactory to the Judiciary to ensure its financial independence and self-accounting, within three months or such period as the court may deem appropriate from the date of the order.

He prayed that the court orders the Minister of Finance to adequately fund the Judiciary in every financial year.

Sangwa also asked the court to quash sections 3, 10,11, and 12, including Statutory Instrument No. 88 of the Act for being inconsistent with the Constitution.

THERE’S NO ABDUCTION OF HATEMBOS …the objective is to arrest Hichilema, prevent him from standing – Munshya

0

LAWYER Elias Munshya stresses that the State knows the whereabouts of Milton and Pheluna Hatembo, who are said to have been abducted.

He said this in a live video on his Facebook page from Calgary city in Alberta, Canada on Monday.

The government and pro-PF media continue to present a view that the Choma-based siblings have been abducted.

The Hatembos had initiated court action in an ownership dispute over a farm in Kalomo with UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema.

After losing the matter in court, the duo has ‘disappeared’, for fear of being harassed by PF operatives, for refusing to appeal the matter.

Munshya dug deep into the Hatembos’ issue and why State agents are projecting it to be a big issue.

“They are simply inventing cases against Hakainde. They don’t just have a way of arresting him,” Munshya said. “Is it true that police officers in Zambia don’t know where the Hatembos are? The entire State in Zambia does not know where the Hatembos are!”

He said the State was trying to create a certain crisis by heightening the Hatembos topic.

“Bali pamano (they have something under the sleeves) and trying to use this issue to either foment civil unrest in our country…” he noted.

“But we’ll not sit idle! Why should you use an innocent duo to be fighting battles of this nature?”

Munshya added: “I refuse ukusumina (agreeing) that the State does not know where the Hatembos are.”

“No!” he protested. “What have the Hatembos become? They have become [Adamson] Mushala that the State cannot know where they are? They know! There is something more sinister that the State is trying to cook up. As citizens we say no to that.”

He also pointed out that Forum for Democracy and Development (FDD) leader Edith Nawakwi is not doing whatever she was doing because of her genuine concern for the Hatembos.

“We refuse ukweba ati ba (that Ms) Edith Nawakwi nomba batuletele icinfulunganya mu calo (now should bring chaos in the country),” Munshya said. “It’s okay for Nawakwi not to like Hichilema but what is not okay is for her to use levers of the State and innocent Hatembos to try to cook up a crime for Hichilema.”

He refused to buy the State’s narrative of abduction.

“There is no scandal here! There is no abduction or anything like that. This is all politically motivated, whose objective we already know,” Munshya noted. “The objective is to arrest Mr Hichilema and prevent him from standing [for the presidency this year]. That’s all it is!”

He, however, asked those who are fuelling the Hatembos’ story if they do not care about the peace of Zambia.

“Nico na Hichilema aliba bwino (it’s only that Hichilema is good-hearted). You think that abantu kuti basumina (people can agree) [where] you make up ifyabufi (lies) and abantu bakekale fye ati iyo mukwai (people simply sit by and say no) it’s okay?” Munshya said.

“If this country burns, nimwe tukalilila ba Nawakwi nabanenu (it’s you, Ms Nawakwi, we’ll apportion to, together with your friends).”

He continued, saying: “neco mwababelesesha aba Tonga nico (the reason you have taken advantage of Tongas is because) they are people of peace.”

“Kuti mwaleta uyo umulomo ku Kasama kuba Bemba mwapusuka mwebo (can you bring that wrangling in Bembaland in Kasama and you get away with it), nangu kwesu kuba Ushi mwaleta uyo umulomo mwapusuka (or in Ushi land where I hail from, you bring that wrangling and you get away from it)?” wondered Munshya.

“Mwalibatola aba Tonga nico bamutende (you’ve taken advantage of the Tongas because of their peaceful nature).”

PF’s Luangeni MP petitions ConCourt over G12

0

PATRIOTIC Front Luangeni member of parliament Charles Zulu has petitioned the Constitutional Court to interpret what is equivalent to a grade 12 certificate and whether an individual without a grade 12 certificate but has tertiary certificates cannot participate in this year’s general elections.

On March 9, 2021, the ConCourt warned the Electoral Commission of Zambia against processing nominations for candidates who do not have requisite academic qualifications in the August 12 general elections as well as future elections to avoid violating the Constitution.

The court said so when it dismissed the petition in which losing candidate for Lundazi Constituency Colonel Bizwayo Nkunika petitioned it seeking a declaration that the Lundazi parliamentary seat be declared vacant because the incumbent member of parliament Lawrence Nyirenda did not have a grade 12 certificate.

Zulu has cited the Electoral Commission of Zambia and the Attorney General in the matter seeking an interpretation of Article 70 (1)(d) in relation to the notification by the electoral body that they will not accept nominations from aspiring candidates with only qualifications from tertiary institutions except the prescribed grade 12 certificate.

The lawmaker wants a determination on whether having regard to the Constitutional Court’s judgment delivered on March 10, 2021, in the Bizwayo Nkunika petition and the pronouncement by ECZ on March 17 that tertiary qualifications such as trade certificates, diploma or degree were not equivalent to grade 12 certificate is breach of the Constitution considering that a grade 12 certificate or it’s equivalent is the minimum academic qualification required for a candidate.

Zulu wants the court to determine whether a person who possess high qualifications than a grade 12 certificate or its equivalent is not eligible to contest as member of parliament because he or she does not have a grade 12 certificate or its equivalent.

He also wants a determination on whether the electoral body should make a blanket interpretation as to what constitutes a grade 12 certificate or equivalent and that no tertiary qualification is equivalent to a grade 12 certificate.

In an affidavit in support of originating summons, Zulu said that he participated in the Constitutional amendment process that gave birth to Constitution of Zambia (Amendment) Bill no.2 of 2016 and among the amendments effected to the constitution was the introduction of Article 70 (1)(d) which requires a candidate for a parliamentary seat to possess a grade 12 certificate or its equivalent.

He disclosed that the motive for introducing the minimum academic qualification was to guide political parties to nominate people who were capable of debating effectively and make meaningful contributions to Parliament.

“On March 10, 2021, this court rendered its judgment in the matter of Bizwayo Nkunika vs Lawrence Nyirenda and ECZ in which it made a landmark pronouncement that a tertiary, vocational, craft, trade or apprenticeship certificate is not equivalent to a grade 12 certificate as it is not comparable in value amount, meaning and functions to a grade 12 certificate,” Zulu said.

He contended that the notification by ECZ that it would not accept from aspiring candidates without a grade 12 certificate will have a devastating effect on the aspirations of communities to choose leaders of their choice.

PF Manifesto is an act of desperation designed to misled naive voters – Sean Tembo

By Sean Tembo

1. As Patriots for Economic Progress (PeP), we have noted the manifesto that was launched by the ruling Patriotic Front Party this week. Our view is that the sudden unveiling of a manifesto by the PF is an act of desperation that is designed to misled naive voters.

As a ruling party, the PF is not entitled to make grandiose promises to Zambians of what it will do in future, through a manifesto. Given the fact that the ruling PF have had the instruments of power for the past 10 years, they should concentrate on explaining to Zambians why they have failed to deliver in this period, and it is up to Zambians to decide whether to accept such explanations or not.

2. As Patriots for Economic Progress, we wish to challenge President Lungu to explain to the nation why more Zambians are sleeping hungry today than in 2011 when the PF took over the instruments of power.

The President should further explain to Zambians why the country has contracted more than US$20 billon in external and domestic debt in the past 10 years, and yet the total value of infrastructure built over the same period is less than US$5 billion? President Lungu should further explain to Zambians why only businesses owned by PF ministers and senior officials are booming while the rest of the economy is in a steep decline? The President should also explain to the nation why, during his tenure of office, members of his PF party have become so lawless to the extent that they can walk into a police station, beat up police officers and walk scot free with only a slap on the hand?

3. It is only after President Lungu has answered the above questions to the satisfaction of the citizens of this Republic that we can begin to discuss his new set of grandiose promises contained in the PF manifesto that was launched this week.

4. The following year in 2016, his mandate was renewed because the period was too short to properly assess whether the President and his PF party had delivered or not.

Five years later, the period is now adequate for Zambians to see clearly that President Lungu is not equal to the task of properly managing the affairs of this Republic, and must therefore be retired in the national interest. The President failed to grow the economy. The President failed create jobs for Zambians. The President failed to protect Zambians from the perpetual harassment of his party members. The President has embarrassed the nation to our regional peers by over borrowing and then defaulting without shame.

There is literally nothing which President Lungu can claim that he will do in the next five years which he failed to do in the past 6 years. At this point, instead of making fresh attempts to hoodwink Zambians using a shallow PF manifesto, President Lungu is supposed to be apologizing to the citizens for his evidently failed leadership over the past 6 years. No Zambian has any energy left to start perusing through another set of empty PF promises contained in the PF manifesto at this point. The only energy which Zambians are left with is for casting their vote on 12th August in order to retire President Lungu and his PF party so that we can turn a new page in the journey of our beloved nation.

People want me to buy a chopper, you will not see it – Chimwemwe MP

0

CHIMWEMWE independent member of parliament Mwila Mutale says his failure to deliver in his Constituency is relative.

Mutale said he does not have money to start buying choppers for people to say he has delivered.

He said he has done a lot in his constituency, especially in the education sector.

“My failure is relative. If you say I have failed, in which area have I failed? What I promised the people is about schools, and my programme; one was to upgrade the schools so that our pupils don’t move long distances. Most of the projects I did for schools with pupils sitting on the floor, now have desks. I lobbied and government upgraded the schools to secondary level after I used my personal money. So what failure is it? I don’t understand what I have failed then on,” Mutale said.

He said the issue of empowerment was not for him to give out money but the government.

“The issue of empowerment programme by the government is a hot issue at the moment. All MPs were told to go back to tell people to form cooperatives. I did not question the directive and I did just that to help people form cooperatives,” Mutale said. “People did the project proposals. So now when someone says I told people to form cooperatives and I did not fund them, it is the government programme. I did not say that I will empower or pay them using my personal money. What money did I steal? Me I did my work. It is government that should fund the cooperatives.”

He complained that it was unfair to compare him to members of parliament that were buying choppers.

“Now people want me to buy a chopper, you will not see it. I don’t have that capacity because I am not a minister. Those that have bought have the capacity. If people will compare me, then it will be unfair. You can’t compare me,” Mutale said.

He said those that say he had failed to deliver development in his constituency should be exact and point out where he has not delivered.

Mutale disclosed that 75 per cent of the promises he made during the 2016 campaigns have been delivered.

He said it was morally wrong for some people to judge his performance in his constituency in the last five years on the basis of his failure to donate K5,000 in churches.

Mutale advised his constituents and critics to avoid comparing him with other members of parliament.
