KEITH MWEEMBA ON THE BENCH EXPLAINED AND ALL THE BEST MUZA

Some fans were astonished to see Keith Mweemba, the owner of FC MUZA, sitting on the coaching bench during the CAF Confederation Cup match against Cano Sport.

FC MUZA takes on Diables Noire today, and the team’s owner, Keith Mweemba, is named as one of the team’s coaches on the CAF online registration. I addressed an extensive inquiry to the FC MUZA executive committee, and I received a prompt response.

“Despite being the club’s owner, Keith Mweemba is also a CAF B-licensed coach.””It is not uncommon for club owners to hold coaching qualifications and be involved in team operations,” the EXCO noted.

But what really is the context?

The EXCO explains;

“When the team’s former head coach, Lameck Banda, resigned, Keith Mweemba was registered as the team’s first assistant coach in CAF.” The other MUZA coaches with CAF C licences were not qualified to be registered of course. As a result, Keith Mweemba stepped in, particularly as we were nearing the finish of registration and needed that area completed. And, in any case, if you have a coach in your neighbourhood, explain to me why you need to go Miles seeking for one with the limited time we had left after Lameck Banda’s quick exit.”

When asked if this choice could blur the line between ownership and coaching, perhaps leading to conflicts of interest or favouritism, or if the owner’s presence on the bench undermines the authority of the head coach, Mathews Ndhovu, who holds a CAF A qualification.

The EXCO member denies undermining the Head Coach in any way.

“I understand why people are worried about this. The role of a coach is crucial in the development of a team’s plans, making substitutions, and motivating players. The presence of an owner, particularly one with a vested interest, is actually an advantage that does not disrupt the chain of command or the authority of the head coach, as we all know Mathews is the head coach and he rings changes and direction.”

FC MUZA’s success in the CAF Confederation Cup will ultimately be determined by the combined efforts of the coaching staff, players, and fan support.

Finally, the EXCO members had this to say:

“While we appreciate that it is natural to have differing opinions and concerns about the activities of the clubs, management and coaching staff. However, it is vital to trust their understanding and to give them the benefit of the doubt unless proven otherwise. Let us unite in support of FC MUZA and wish them well in the CAF Confederation Cup.”

The game is on today at 15:00hrs at Heroes Stadium and those not yet with tickets let’s gather at the stadium. You can’t afford to miss this one.

I still have few tickets for those who have failed go find. Get in touch!!!

THE TRUTH AND ONLY THE TRUTH SHALL SET EDGAR FREE!

By Koswe Editors

Following the wolf cries by PF dribble master Edgar Lungu that he has been blocked to travel to Korea for a peace summit, Koswe started investigating these lies.

For start. Those saying we should not talk about Edgar Lungu, we want to tell you that Koswe will not only talk about the DEAD but if you know that you are dead and committed crimes against Zambia, we will still talk about you. So, brace yourself for more talks about you especially if in the past you made thugs begin to think that they could turn this country into their armpits and attack people anyhow while you were stealing and promoting tribal hegemony.

And true. These are lies by Edgar Lungu. When will Edgar Lungu and his PF grow up?

There is no peace summit in Korea taking place. You don’t need to wonder much. Just Google and all search engines will show you that there is no peace summit there and worse off, there is no peace summit where Edgar Lungu has been invited to go and address anywhere and not even in the troubled neighbouring Congo or Mozambique.

Edgar Lungu will never stop his deceit behaviour. He wants to run away from PF problems.

But what is the truth? Well. The truth and only truth is that Edgar Lungu wanted to go and meet his funders and criminals who he should have met in South Africa. Initially, he lied that he wanted to go to South Africa for medical review but when he was stopped, he and his criminals funding his 2026 wishful dreams, decided that they meet him in Dubai but lie that he is headed for Korea to address a peace summit which only existed in their imagination. Well. It could be God exposing them, anyway.

These criminals have been coming to Zambia and he has been meeting them secretly and currently they are not even in Korea but Dubai.

For your information. Given Lubinda fled Zambia two days ago and is currently in Dubai and he went to mobilise the criminals expected to bankroll Edgar Lungu come 2026.

By the way, these are criminals that helped Lungu stash a lot of his stolen millions of dollars abroad and so, apart from mobilising more campaign funds, he is also meeting them to get the stolen money.

Why is it that Edgar Lungu has been allowed to continue living a cheating life and stealing from government when he is going against the law which stops him from being in active Politics?

These criminals are not sleeping but day and night are planning on how to either remove President Hakainde Hichilema from office using any means necessary.

Koswe’s clarion call is that government must stop paying rentals for Edgar Lungu and allow him to publicly get back to active Politics and when some PF members are calling for PF convention and they are butchering each other, government must not stop them.

Otherwise, there is no peace summit in Korea except a criminal, clandestine activity, money laundering, money stealing and campaign fundraising for Edgar Lungu is what is at play here.

Chris Brown Claims He’s Got 15,000 Unreleased Songs

0

Chris Brown claims he has an astonishing number of songs that haven’t seen the light of day.

On a new episode of the Club Shay Shay podcast, host Shannon Sharpe asked Breezy for his top three songs he’s ever done.

“Man, it’s so hard with me because just to be honest with you, I have about 15,000 unreleased songs, right?” he said, shocking the host with the revelation. “In my phone alone, in certain apps, I have, I wanna say, maybe 1,800.”

He continued, “It was a point where I used to stay in the studio like when I was doing a lot of my earlier albums, I had to learn. But I wanna say around the F.A.M.E. album and certain stuff like that, I was kinda like in my zone. I knew what I wanted.”

This isn’t the first time Brown has made a claim about having a huge number of songs in the vault.

The R&B singer told Hot 97 in 2017 that he had 800 unreleased tracks on his phone alone. “Right now, it’s been better because I built a studio in my house. So, I never have to leave. But for me, on my phone right now, I have 800 songs that nobody’s heard. Not bragging, but my work ethic only allows me to stay creative,” he said at the time.

It’s not clear how many of those unreleased tracks are finished, nor if any of the cuts since the 2017 interview surfaced on albums such as 2018’s Indigo or last year’s Breezy LP. Assuming that each song never left the vault, that means Brown has banked roughly 166 each year for the past six years on his phone alone. How he manages to crank out that many songs, the world may never know.

Brown’s 11th studio album, 11:11, is set to be released on Nov. 11, with only 11 songs. See the full Club Shay Shay conversation below.

Offset Responds To Video Of Nicki Minaj’s Husband Dissing Him

0

Last night (Sept. 15), Kenneth Petty, husband of Nicki Minaj, posted a video with two other men claiming that he was looking for Offset. While the two have never publicly gone at each other, there has been a storied history between their respective wives. This video comes on the heels of Cardi B posting a subtle subtweet following the VMAs, saying, “I ain’t even flinch.”

The spicy response was her alleged reaction to Minaj’s fiery track that was performed at the MTV award show following Cardi and Megan Thee Stallion’s set. In the new song, the “Super Bass” emcee blazingly raps, “These bches ain’t badder than me; you bches don’t count, you bches can’t count; I’m not the one, two or the three.” She continued, “You bches look up to me; you said you look up to her, but really, you look up to me.”

In the late-night video, Petty and the two other men proceed to verbally press the “Walk It Like I Talk It” rapper in an attempt to pull up on him. Although they were looking for him in New York City, Offset was in Atlanta live on Twitch with Kai Cenat. In the clip, the man standing next to Petty says, “Offset, where you at?” before Petty starts to speak his piece.

Although the gentleman with him was speaking over him, you can hear Petty say, “You ngas nervous, man. You boys psy for real. You b**ches is nervous.” He follows that statement by asking, “What’s up, man? What’s going on? What y’all trying to do?” in an alleged attempt to see the former Migos member.

Later in the video, the husband of the rap phenom says, “We out here to talk, right? Let’s talk, but you know we ain’t talking, though. Psy a n**ga, I don’t know who y’all think y’all playing with.” This video is the first time fans have seen any back-and-forth between the husbands of Cardi and Minaj.

This morning (Sept. 16), Offset posted a video on his Instagram Story calling the group of men “broke.” In his clip, he states, “I am getting off the jet. What these ngas talking about?” Shortly after, he laughed and exclaimed, “These ngas broke. We hopping off jets, bch. These ngas standing outside.”

Offset’s new album is set to release on Oct. 13.

UK Designates Wagner Russian Mercenary Group As Terrorist Organisation, Vows 14 Years Jail For Any Citizen That Joins

0

he United Kingdom has proscribed the Russian mercenary group, Wagner Group, as a terrorist organisation.

The UK accused the group of being a proxy military force for Russia President Vladimir Putin.

The UK government also disclosed in an official statement on Friday that any citizen who joins the group is likely to be jailed for 14 years.

“The Russian mercenary organisation, Wagner Group, has been proscribed as a terrorist organisation today (15th September) after an order was laid in Parliament on Wednesday (6th September).

“This order comes into force with immediate effect and will make belonging to the Wagner Group or actively supporting the group in the UK a criminal offence, with a potential jail sentence of 14 years which can be handed down alongside or in place of a fine.

“The Wagner Group has now been added to the list of proscribed organisations in the UK, alongside 78 other organisations,” the UK stated.

Explaining the reason for the proscription, the UK Home Secretary, Suella Braverman alleged in a tweet that the Mercenary group works for Putin in parts of Africa and the Middle East.

“Today marks an important moment as Russia’s Wagner Group – Putin’s proxy military force – is officially declared a terrorist organisation.

“We continue to confront terrorism wherever and however it occurs,” she tweeted.

The Wagner Group mercenary leader, Yevgeny Prigozhin, was among the passengers confirmed dead in a plane crash in Russia.

Investigations are ongoing by the Russian government to determine the cause of Prigozhin’s death but the United States claimed he was “likely killed” on Putin’s orders.

Prigozhin, who was Putin’s ally for many years and whose mercenary organization was engaged to invade neighbouring Ukraine, had called out Putin and his top military generals for alleged corruption.

Before his reported demise, the deceased had led an internal revolt in Russia.

After his death, Putin directed the mercenaries to pledge loyalty to the Russian Federation, saying their leader made a mistake by leading an uprising against his country.

Smoke and Mirrors: The Enigma of Disappearing Candidates in Zambian Politics

In a stunning turn of events, the current state of affairs within the party has revealed a truth that will leave your jaw on the floor. Brace yourselves, dear readers, for the shocking revelation that President Edgar Lungu should not be solely blamed for the chaos unfolding before our very eyes. Yes, you heard it right, our dear President is not the sole architect of this grand symphony of mismanagement. It seems that all the candidates who were once vying for power have suddenly vanished into thin air, leaving the Zambian population scratching their heads in bewilderment.

But fear not, intrepid souls, for I have managed to uncover the secrets hidden beneath this inexplicable disappearance. It appears that these candidates, who initially paid hefty nomination fees, have silently withdrawn from the race, pleading with President Lungu to reclaim his throne. Can you believe it? Our brave contenders, who once boasted about their unwavering determination to lead, are now reduced to groveling for President Lungu’s return. It’s a sight that would leave even the most seasoned political observers scratching their heads.

So, let us delve deeper into this murky tale. According to a highly confidential informant, President Lungu himself was reluctant to continue his reign, but it was the candidates and other party members who launched a full-scale charm offensive to persuade him otherwise. They devised a master plan, the Alebwelelapo agenda, which involved appointing Honorable Raphael Nakachinda and playing a game of hide and seek with the public until their desired momentum was achieved. Apparently, they believed that with mounting public discontent, the ECL agenda would finally gain unstoppable traction.

Oh, the audacity! Those who are quick to point fingers at President Lungu may indeed be barking up the wrong tree. The real culprits here are the candidates themselves, who have displayed a collective cowardice that would make even the bravest heart tremble. Their lofty aspirations for leadership crumbled like a poorly baked cake when faced with the arduous task of financing their campaigns and managing the party’s affairs.

But, as our tale unfolds further, we stumble upon another thread of confusion. PF National Chairperson, Davies Chama, expressed his bewilderment at the recent appointments made by party vice-president, Given Lubinda. It seems that the party leaders are more lost than ever, lacking a clear direction and shifting focus like a group of confused tourists in a foreign land. Chama argues that it is high time they find President Lungu’s replacement, as the never-ending convention journey is leaving the Zambian public frustrated and uncertain.

Oh, dear readers, we find ourselves in a bizarre world where aspiring leaders abandon their dreams faster than a rat deserting a sinking ship. It begs the question, what happened to the once mighty contenders? Why have they vanished into thin air, leaving us all perplexed and yearning for answers?

It is time, my friends, for the implicated candidates to step forward and reveal the truth. I challenge them to refute the allegations presented in this article and confront their cowardice head-on. The Zambian people deserve transparency, honesty, and leaders who stand by their convictions.

And as we eagerly await their response, there is one brave soul who remains steadfast, the lone candidate determined to see the convention through. He boldly declares: that we must go to the convention.

As for the rest of the contenders in this race, they have shamelessly failed to inform the Zambian people of their incapability and lack of dedication to fight for the top position. They have vanished into oblivion, leaving behind a trail of broken promises and unanswered questions.”

Oh, what a grand spectacle this political circus has become! The Zambian public yearns for truth, clarity, and leaders who will not sell their birthrights for a seat at the table. Let the candidates respond, for the people demand answers and the satirical drama of Zambian politics continues to unfold.

M’membe should stop blaming Kabimba, Laura Miti or Koswe

Laura Miti There is a common proverb in the English language that “there is wisdom in silence’’. This principle is at times used in criminal law to protect an accused person from possible self-incrimination. But silence can also mean consent.

This is what we see in the High Court action brought in 2018 by Fred M’membe and Cosmas Musumali (2nd Plaintiff) against Wynter M. Kabimba (1st Defendant), Millennium Radio, and the Daily Nation newspaper.

The court action came on the heels of some Rainbow Party members who broke away to form the Socialist Party, a democratic right which is guaranteed for them under the Zambian Republican Constitution.

The matter was heard and determined by the Honourable Madam Justice S. Kaunda Newa who delivered judgement in January 2021.

Although Fred M’membe was the 1st Plaintiff in the matter, he chose not to appear in court to assert his claim, a decision I thought was wise on his part considering what awaited him in cross-examination. Instead, Cosmas Musumali, a man who in medieval Greece would pass for a eunuch had to bear the brunt of cross-examinationcross-examination alone.

In her meticulous judgment which Fred M’membe and the Socialist Party general secretary decided not to appeal, the judge accepted the evidence herebelow and made her findings accordingly:

1. “The 1st Defendant in his defence stated that members of the Socialist Party, who included the Plaintiffs, have been attending the MST workshops in Brazil since 2015, where LGBT, rights are promoted. To substantiate this allegation, the 1st Defendant called DW1 as his witness, who testified that he went on the MST education course in Brazil in 2016, at the facilitation of the Socialist Party.’’

2. “This witness (DW1) told the Court that he only stayed in Brazil for three (3) weeks out of the twelve (12) weeks duration of the course. He explained the reason for this as being, there they were being taught that socialism means being atheist, and accepting homosexuality.’’

3. “DW1 in his testimony stated that a South African national (name withheld), had complained to the lecturer when two men who sat at the front of the class were kissing and cuddling, and the lecturer had told him that as a socialist one needed to embrace and accept that.’’

4. (The second witness) “PW2 in cross-examination a conceded that one of the objectives of the MST course is to promote LGBT rights through workshops. The 2nd Plaintiff in his testimony agreed that he is associated with MST as a lecturer.’’

5. “The evidence regarding the MST, with which the 2nd Plaintiff has been associated as a lecturer, and which college workshops have been attended by the 1st Plaintiff (M’membe), PW2, PW3, PW4, and DW1 among others who have been associated with the Plaintiffs and for some with the Socialist Party, promotes LGBT rights.’’

6. “It is also on record that the 2nd Plaintiff testified that as a cross-examinationmember who is in charge of membership of the Socialist Party, he would allow a person that states that he is homosexual, to join the party.’’

7. “The testimony given by DW1 which was not challenged in cross-examination, was that at the MST, they are taught that persons of different sexual orientation should be accepted, as part of Socialism.’’

8. “The evidence given by the 2nd Plaintiff shows that the Socialist Party tolerates persons of different sexual orientation, and this is what the 1st Defendant in the interview on Millennium Radio said.’’

9. “The evidence as a whole establishes that the 2nd Plaintiff is associated with the MST in Brazil, as a lecturer, which advances the rights of the LGBT community, and which the 1st Plaintiff has attended alongside some of the witnesses who testified in this matter. As testified by DW1, the MST in its teachings advocates for the acceptance of LGBT persons and, therefore, the Socialist Party with the 2nd Plaintiff as its General Secretary is tolerant towards persons of different sexual orientation, including homosexuals and lesbians.

The 2nd Plaintiff confirmed this in his testimony.’’

10. “The record also shows that the MST teaches people to embrace and accept LGBT persons. Travel to Brazil to learn about socialism facilitated by MST establishes that the Socialist Party agrees with the objectives of the MST, which include advancing LGBT rights.’’

11. “In Zambia, there is no recognition of LGBT rights, and any acts associated with such are criminalised. Therefore, any person advocating such rights is breaking the law, and any political leader aspiring to lead the country who advocates for the same may not be said to be honest and of integrity, and consequently fit to lead the nation.’’

12. “The rest of the articles named in the statement of claim as being defamatory, were also made in relation to the assertions and comments made by the 1st Defendant during the radio interview, with the comments having been found to be fair comment. The articles have not in any way been established to have quoted anything untrue. Thus, they are equally fair comment.’’

13. “The claim for damages for defamation of character accordingly fails, with costs to the defendants, to be taxed in default of agreement. Leave to appeal is granted.’’

‘I Have No Intent to Kill Zambian President’: Zanu-PF Finance Secretary Patrick Chinamasa Denies Allegations of Conspiring to Murder Hakainde Hichilema

Zanu-PF Finance Secretary Patrick Chinamasa Denies Allegations of Conspiring to Kill Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema

Zanu-PF Finance Secretary Patrick Chinamasa Denies Allegations of Conspiring to Kill Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema

In a recent development that has raised eyebrows in diplomatic circles, ZANU PF’s Finance Secretary, Patrick Chinamasa, has vehemently denied claims that he had expressed intent to kill Zambia’s current President, Hakainde Hichilema.

This shocking revelation came amid protests in Zambia over alleged Zimbabwean interference in their country’s affairs.

Zambian Official’s Accusations Spark Tensions

Provincial Minister for Copperbelt, Elisha Matamba recently addressed a gathering of concerned Zambians who had gathered to protest against what they saw as Zimbabwe’s meddling in their nation’s internal matters.

Matamba claimed that Patrick Chinamasa and another Zimbabwean, Rutendo Matinyanyire, had threatened the life of Zambia’s current President, Hakainde Hichilema.

Matamba stated that Chinamasa had confessed to killing Zambia’s third former President Levy Mwanawasa and expressed concerns about a plot against President Hichilema’s life.

In response to the startling allegations, Patrick Chinamasa took to social media to issue a strong denial.

He posted a statement on X (formerly Twitter), categorically refuting Matamba’s claims.

Patrick Chinamasa asserted that the accusations were false, malicious, and highly defamatory. He also made it clear that he had never met Rutendo Matinyarare and didn’t even know who they were.

The recent statement by the Zambian Provincial Minister for Copperbelt, Honourable Elisha Matamba, has been brought to my attention. There is no truth whatsoever in the allegations by Honourable Matamba:

a) that I killed the Late Zambian President Levy Mwanawasa; b) that I “admitted to having a hand in the death of former Zambian President Levy Mwanawasa”;

c) that “Chinamasa and Rutendo have agreed that they participated in killing Mwanawasa” (As a matter of fact, I don’t know Rutendo Matinyarare and I have never met him/her in my life);

d) that I have intent to kill Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema.

The above allegations by Honourable Matamba are false, malicious, and highly defamatory

Chinamasa’s statement sought to reassure that Zimbabwe harbored no ill intentions toward Zambia and highlighted the historic bonds of friendship and cooperation between the two nations.

“I, however, agree with Honourable Matamba when he says that “Zimbabwe and Zambia are like twins, sisters.” In fact, the two countries are more than twins/sisters. Zimbabweans will never forget that Zambia, along with Tanzania, Mozambique, and other Frontline States, acted as midwives to our freedom, independence, and sovereignty that we fervently cherish and defend…”

PRESIDENT HICHILEMA ARRIVES BACK HOME

September 16, 2023

President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA has arrived back home from the People’s Republic of China where he undertook a State Visit at the invitation of His Excellency Mr. Xi Jinping, President of the People’s Republic of China.

The President’s visit was significant as it aimed at reinforcing the excellent long-standing bilateral relations and cooperation between Zambia and China.

It also built on the previously held key discussions between the two leaders, with the recent engagement having occurred during the China – Africa Roundtable on the margins of the BRICS Summit in South Africa.

This visit created an opportunity for various Zambian sectors to meet with their Chinese counterparts and deepen cooperation in trade and investment.

During the visit, President Hichilema held bilateral talks with President Xi Jinping premised on areas of mutual interest at bilateral and multilateral levels, including Chinese investments in key sectors of the Zambian economy such as energy, infrastructure, mining and manufacturing, among others.

President Hichilema and President Xi Jinping witnessed the signing of Bilateral Agreements and Memoranda of Understanding in various areas including economic cooperation and investment, which will set the foundation for practical results.

The President held meetings with key policy makers including the Chinese Premier, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, and the respective Leaderships of Shenzhen City, Jiangxi Province and Fujian Province.

The programme included investment and tourism promotion fora in Jiangxi Province and Beijing where captains of industry from Zambia were in attendance.

In addition, President Hichilema undertook a tour of a poverty reduction village which showcases China’s success in transforming villages into towns and cities with access to all the necessary amenities.

President Hichilema’s visit provided a platform to strengthen the existing bilateral relations between Zambia and China, and created avenues to explore valuable partnerships and investment opportunities for mutual benefit.

Through the President’s high level engagements, Zambia is expected to benefit from China’s experience in development and management of economic zones and the transformation of ordinary towns and villages into economically viable cities.

President Hichilema’s visit to the People’s Republic of China enhances the all-weather friendship between the two countries and yield tangible results for improved livelihoods of the Zambian people.

Mali, Niger and Burkina Faso sign Sahel security pact

0

Mali, Niger and Burkina Faso, three West African Sahel nations ruled by military juntas, signed a security pact on Saturday promising to come to the aid of each other in case of any rebellion or external aggression.

The three countries are struggling to contain Islamic insurgents linked to al Qaeda and Islamic State and have also seen their relations with neighbours and international partners strained because of the coups.

The latest coup in Niger drove a further wedge between the three and countries of the regional bloc, the Economic Community of West African States, which has threatened to use force to restore constitutional rule in the country.

Mali and Burkina Faso have vowed to come to Niger’s aid if it is attacked.

“Any attack on the sovereignty and territorial integrity of one or more contracted parties will be considered an aggression against the other parties,” according to the charter of the pact, known as the Alliance of Sahel States.

It said the other states will assist individually or collectively, including with the use of armed force.

“I have today signed with the Heads of State of Burkina Faso and Niger the Liptako-Gourma charter establishing the Alliance of Sahel States, with the aim of establishing a collective defence and mutual assistance framework,” Mali junta leader Assimi Goita said on his X social media account.

All three states were members of the France-supported G5 Sahel alliance joint force with Chad and Mauritania, launched in 2017 to tackle Islamist groups in the region.

Mali has since left the dormant organisation after a military coup, while ousted Niger’s President Mohamed Bazoum said in May last year that the force is now “dead” following Mali’s departure.

Relations between France and the three states have soured since the coups.

France has been forced to withdraw its troops from Mali and Burkina Faso, and is in a tense standoff with the junta that seized power in Niger after it asked it to withdraw its troops and its ambassador.

France has refused to recognise the authority of the junta.

Woman turns into man when in bed

0

A resident of Chimanimani, Gibson Kufandada, alleges that his wife adopts a male persona when they enter their marital bedroom. According to Kufandada, his wife, Rumbidzai Ngomana, experiences a hoarse voice and resists his advances when he attempts intimacy. She questions why Kufandada seems to be pursuing another man (Ngomana) instead.

Kufandada claims that their ten-year marriage has been plagued by this peculiar behavior, which only manifests within the confines of their bedroom. He expressed confusion and described his wife’s behavior as otherworldly, as she transforms into an entirely different person upon entering the bedroom. Even her voice deepens, taking on an intimidating male tone. Despite enduring these circumstances, Kufandada continues to share the bedroom with her.

This revelation occurred during a hearing at Acting Chief Saurombe’s court, where Kufandada sought resolution by involving his in-laws, the Mushanguris.

Kufandada explained, “When she is possessed, she claims to be someone called Mushanguri Wedota. That is why I have brought her late mother’s family to this court. I want them to assist my wife so that we can restore our love. I am even afraid to be alone with my wife because the ‘man’ possessing her does not want me near her.”

Ngomana admitted that she frequently loses consciousness upon entering the marital bedroom, only to awaken the following morning. She expressed the need for assistance, as her actions have been adversely affecting her marriage, with her husband and children growing fearful of her erratic behavior.

However, the Mushanguri family distanced themselves from the situation, asserting that whatever was afflicting Ngomana had no connection to them, as she was not related to their family by blood. Shepherd Mushanguri clarified, “Rumbidzai is not a member of the Mushanguri family. Her mother was also not a member of our family.”

A white garment prophetess, Mai Chijuba, suggested that Kufandada’s problems began after he paid lobola (bride price) to the Mushanguris. According to her, the Mushanguris misappropriated this money to cast unwanted spirits and goblins onto Ngomana, even though she was not related to them. Kufandada recalled, “It all started a few years ago when I paid US$150 as lobola to Noah Mushanguri, Rumbidzai’s step-grandfather. Since then, our relationship has never been the same.”

Gogo Mushanguri, Noah Mushanguri’s widow, professed ignorance regarding the lobola payment, stating, “My husband went with that secret to his grave. Had I known, I would not have allowed it because we did not know Rumbidzai’s father.”

Acting Chief Saurombe ordered the Mushanguri family to repay the US$150 lobola to Gogo Mushanguri, who would, in turn, pass the money to her brothers. He also insisted on the urgent exorcism of any malevolent spirits affecting Ngomana, given her upbringing by the Ngomana family.

Zimbabweans Flood Zambia

Thousands of Zimbabweans are flocking to Zambia for education and economic opportunities at a time Zanu PF is targeting Lusaka for exposing its recent gigantic election rigging.

The Mirror reports that an estimated 10,000 young Zimbabweans have run away from high unemployment and a broken economy, among other factors, and have found life in Zambia,

The publication said that Lusaka Health Institute alone has an estimated 123 first, second and third-year nursing students.
Joseph Mukina, an agent who processes applications for Zimbabwean students, said that there are at least 200 Zimbabwean students in each of the 58 institutes of higher learning that he deals with. This brings the total number of Zimbabwean students in the country to over 10,000.
A source at Chirundu Border Post said the flood of Zimbabwean students crossing north into Zambia at the start of new semesters cannot be ignored anymore.

An analyst who declined to be named said the migration of students out of the country is a sign of a lack of confidence in the future. He said it proves the economy has collapsed.

Another analyst said Zimbabwe is the most failed State with millions of citizens all over the the region. He said Zimbabwe’s cold war with Zambia is uncalled for.

It seemed unimaginable in the last few years that Zimbabweans could flood Zambia, a far poorer country. Zimbabwean students have over the years turned from one country for education to another as they find no jobs after qualifying.

First, they turned in hordes to South Africa for higher education but as huge regional populations started to affect job opportunities in that country they started going to Poland four years ago and now it is Zambia which is the new source of higher education.
Parents and students who spoke to The Mirror gave various reasons why Zambia has become their first choice for education. They said that Zambian universities are generally cheaper and fees are paid in the local currency which is stable, unlike the Zimbabwean currency. The fees in Zambia start from as little as $300.

Some students complain that Zimbabwean education is now of poor quality because universities are more focused on making money. One engineering student said that he left a State university here and went to Zambia because one can finish a degree programme without ever setting foot in a workshop. He left the university when he was in year two.

The highest intakes in Zambia are in nursing. The students who spoke to The Mirror said programme restrictions in Zambia are less stringent than in Zimbabwe. Unlike in Zimbabwe, students are not bonded after completing a nursing course.
In Zambia, one can embark on a nursing programme even after several O-level sittings, and students are allowed to resit their O-level English while studying for a degree.

Medicine is another popular programme for Zimbabwean students and this is because Zambians take students from 10 points, said a source.
The Minister of Higher Education, Dr Amon Murwira said he saw nothing wrong with Zimbabweans going to Zambia to further their education.

“People would want to twist the story to suit their narrative, but the truth is that everyone has his own choice. We have a lot of Zimbabweans studying in China and other countries and we also have a lot of Zambians in our institutions of higher learning,” he said.
The Mirror, however, tried to establish whether Zimbabwe has Zambians in its institutions of higher learning but found none. Foreign students from the region who used to come to Zimbabwe because of political instability in their countries are no longer around.
“I am a registered agent. I process scores of applications every day. Programmes in Zambia begin at $300 upwards. Life is cheaper in Zambia, because of the stable currency. Most people take nursing courses,” said Mukina

He said that some of the popular institutions are Africa University, Cavendish University (Lusaka), Central African Baptist University, Chreso University, Copperstone University, Eden University, Gideon Robert University, Information and Communications University (ICU), Lusaka Apex Medical University, Management College of Southern Africa (MANCOSA) (Lusaka).

Rusangu University, South Valley University, St. Bonaventure University, Texila American University Zambia, UNICAF University, University of Lusaka, Victoria Falls University of Technology (VFU), Zambia Catholic University and Zambian Open University

Ban Zanu PF’s Chinamasa, Mutsvangwa from Zambia

Zambian political activist Joseph Kalimbwe has taken legal action against Patrick Chinamasa, a member of Zimbabwe’s Zanu PF politburo, accusing him of making death threats against Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema. The move comes as tensions between Zambia and Zimbabwe escalate following Zimbabwe’s controversial elections last month, which received widespread condemnation from observer missions.

The Southern African Development Community (Sadc) election observer mission, led by former Zambian Vice-President Nevers Mumba, released a scathing report stating that the Zimbabwean elections failed to meet regional standards. This led to strained relations between the two countries, with Zimbabwe’s ruling Zanu PF party attempting to discredit the report and labelling President Hichilema as a Western puppet.

Joseph Kalimbwe, expressing his discontent on social media, called for Patrick Chinamasa and newly-appointed War Veterans Minister Christopher Mutsvangwa to be banned from entering Zambia. Kalimbwe accused Chinamasa of disrespecting the passing of Zambia’s late leader and threatened to file a criminal case against him for the alleged death threats.

“Patrick Chinamasa and Christopher Mutsvangwa must be banned from ever setting foot on Zambian soil. We can’t have folks like Patrick mock the passing of our leader and still be allowed entry into our country,” Kalimbwe said on social media platform X.

This recent development follows a protest by Hakainde Hichilema’s United Party for National Development supporters, who condemned the ruling Zanu PF party for the threats against their leader during the reopening of copper mines in Chingola and Chililabombwe.

Patrick Chinamasa responded to the allegations by stating that he would need to read the content before making any comments. He had previously triggered controversy by defending the disputed election and suggesting that Nevers Mumba would fail, drawing comparisons to the late Zambian President Levy Mwanawasa.

There are claims in Lusaka that Zanu PF is collaborating with Zambian opposition to harm Hakainde Hichilema. In response, Copperbelt provincial minister Elisha Matambo vowed to petition international and regional bodies to investigate the threats against Hichilema’s life.

Christopher Mutsvangwa, when approached for comment, emphasized the enduring bond between Zimbabwe and Zambia, refusing to directly address the matter.

Mutsvangwa had previously criticized Nevers Mumba, dismissing him as an election observer and referring to him as “a mere preacher” following the August 23 elections.

The situation between Zambia and Zimbabwe remains tense as these allegations and disputes continue to strain the relationship between the two neighbouring countries.

‘I have no plans to kill Hichilema’ –Zanu-PF’s Patrick Chinamasa tells Zambians

0

Zanu-PF Secretary for Legal Affairs Patrick Chinamasa has denied claims by a Zambian Provincial Minister for the Copperbelt, Elisha Matamba that he had admitted to having a hand in the death of Zambia’s third President Levy Mwanawasa and is also planning to kill current President Hakainde Hichilema.

Matamba, on Monday, addressed scores of protesters in Ndola who submitted a petition to him accusing Zanu-PF apologist Rutendo Matinyanyire and Chinamasa of threatening to kill the Zambian President Hichilema.

They also claimed that Chinamasa had admitted to playing a role in the death of their former leader Mwanawasa.

The minister told the demonstrators that he would deliver the petition to the Southern African Development Community (SADC), African Union (AU) and the United Nations (UN).

“I have received the petitions on the threats on the life of President Hichilema by Chinamasa and Rutendo Matinyanyire.

“I will deliver your petition to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs so that it can be taken to SADC, AU and UN. Chinamasa has confessed that he killed President Mwanawasa and is now planning to tamper with the life of President Hichilema,” he said.

On Friday morning, Chinamasa dismissed the claims as “false, malicious, and highly defamatory”.

He also denied having a relationship or knowing Matinyarare.

“The recent statement by Zambian Provincial Minister for Copperbelt, Honourable Elisha Matamba, has been brought to my attention. There is no truth whatsoever in the allegations by Honourable Matamba:

“a) that I killed the Late Zambian President Levy Mwanawasa; b) that I “admitted to having a hand in the death of former Zambian President Levy Mwanawasa”;
c) that “Chinamasa and Rutendo have agreed that they participated in killing Mwanawasa” (As a matter of fact, I don’t know Rutendo Matinyarare and I have never met him/her in my life); d) that I have intent to kill Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema.

“The above allegations by Honourable Matamba are false, malicious, and highly defamatory. I, however, agree with Honourable Matamba when he says that “Zimbabwe and Zambia are like twins, sisters.” In fact, the two countries are more than twins/sisters,” the former Finance Minister said.

He further recognized the role played by Zambia in the liberation of Zimbabwe.

“Zimbabweans will never forget that Zambia, along with Tanzania, Mozambique, and other Frontline States, acted as midwives to our freedom, independence, and sovereignty that we fervently cherish and defend.

“The sacrifices made by Zambians for our freedom and independence are part of the liberation history that is taught at the Herbert Chitepo School of Ideology. Zimbabweans harbor no ill intent against Zambia or Zambians.

“As neighbors, we should not allow agents provocateurs to damage the good relationship that exists between our two countries and peoples,” Chinamasa added.

The diplomatic tiff between the two countries started last month after SADC Election Observer Mission led by former Zambian vice president Nevers Mumba dismissed Zimbabwe’s harmonised general election which saw incumbent President Emmerson Mnangagwa winning with 52,6%.

Opposition Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) leader Nelson Chamisa who is believed to be Hichilema’s ally lost with 44%.

Chamisa dismissed the election result and called for fresh polls supervised by SADC.

International observers noted that the plebiscite was marred by serious irregularities including but not limited to late ballot delivery, voter intimidation and suppression and interference of the central intelligence organisation through a Zanu-PF aligned shadowy organisation, Forever Associates of Zimbabwe (FAZ).

After releasing a damning report about elections, Mumba as the head of SADC appointed by Hichilema, the chairperson of SADC Troika, was branded a western puppet. The war of words erupted between the two countries.

Mumba has since submitted the final report to the SADC Troika who will study it and make a decision.

Indiscipline Wherever It Lays Its Ugly Face Should Never Be Tolerated In The PF- Hon Yotam Mtayachalo

INDISCIPLINE WHEREVER IT LAYS ITS UGLY FACE SHOULD NEVER BE TOLERATED IN THE PF.

16th September,2023

First and foremost it is disheartening to see scenes of violence and thuggery behavior which characterised the Patriotic Front party secretariat yesterday by alleged supporters of one of the party presidential candidates who is opposed to the appointment of Hon Raphael Nakacinda as Secretary General of the party.

The behavior which was displayed yesterday should be condemned in strongest possible terms by all well meaning members of the Patriotic Front and the general public because this conduct is unacceptable and misguided and therefore the party must take stern disciplinary action against instigators of lawlessness in the party because indiscipline and hooliganism has never built any organization.

Therefore if one is not happy with the appointment of Mr Nakacinda as Secretary General of the party I feel that there are orthodox ways of airing grievances instead of resorting to barbaric behavior which is iminical to the unity of the party.

Further, I have been compelled to issue this statement because I have seen a rise in cases of indiscipline in the party which threatens it’s existence and if radical measures are not immediately taken to restore order and discipline in the party the organization’s unity risks being seriously undermined and needless to say that it has now become fashionable for party members and leaders to go to the media and disparage their own political party or wash dirty linen in public without any sanctions.

It must also be realized that the main custodians of the party is the general membership and as such the party does not belong to selfish individuals with hidden or failed political agendas and neither is the Patriotic Front a monarch and as such I want to call upon the general membership to rise up to the occasion and defend their party jealously and vigorously because the demise of the major opposition party in Zambia which has 58 strong members of parliament, Mayors/Council Chairpersons and Councilors country wide will be a serious set back to Zambia’s democratic dispensation as it may lead to the ruling party having a field day or have an easy walk in the park and as such the end result is that the main losers will be Zambians themselves because they will not be a strong voice to speak on their behalf to offer effective checks and balances to the ruling party.

It is in light of the foregoing that the Zambia Police Service has been put on a litmus test over this matter whether these perpetrators of violence who caused serious malicious damage to party property will be brought to book and prosecuted.

However it is disappointing that even when it has been reported that the police were informed about the planned attack on the party secretariat they decided to take a laissez-faire approach in taking action which is a source of grave concerns.

Furthermore in a democratic system of governace the police is expected to be professional and protect private and public property therefore we expect action from the Zambia Police Service in regard to yesterday’s attack on party secretariat so as to serve as a detterent to others because unorthodox behavior has no room in the modern democratic society.

In conclusion I want to state categorically very clear that PF members from chama north constituency will not support any presidential candidate who is hell bent at undermining the strength and unity of the party for selfish motives and more importantly I want to also take this opportunity to call upon the Central Committee of the party to quickly call for a national convention because it is the only avenue which can resolve these leadership wrangles in order to preserve the unity of the party in readness for the decisive 2026 general elections.

Just like Hon. Chishimba Kambwili who only cares about his personal political ego, Miles is no different- Mumba Tebulu

I now believe the saying that, “DON’T FEED EVERY DOG YOU SEE SUFFERING, SOME JUST NEED THE STRENGTH TO BITE YOU”. What has characterized the former Mighty Patriotic Front Party in the recent past has left most of us mesmerized.

Surely Miles B. Sampa today would call his colleagues hijackers when he is actually a bird of the same feather. Just like Hon. Chishimba Kambwili who only cares about his personal political ego, Miles is no different. Miles formed the UDF party, went into an alliance with UPND and later pulled out and dumped he’s innocent followers. What has changed today that the PF has become so sweet olo kapena kufilila Munsenga. The gentleman is just the same character with his bamuninane brother from Roan.

After he’s lack of political foresight finished him and fast forward the demise of Mr Wilson Kalumba MHSRIP, Miles was picked from a political destitute and made him rebound to his current position by the same people he’s fighting today.
These political positions and parties are not personal to order but definitely the rule of law must apply.

Yes indeed there’s no doubt that the PF is headed for serious splitting owing to the fact that the Alebwelelapo Agenda is loud and Clear.

Getting back to the bone of contention, I invite political spectators to grab a bucket of popcorn and watch the drama unfold. Once beaten twice shy, what Miles and others must realize is that Hon Raphael Nakachinda has been through this situation and that he is a tactical and well skilled politician who will fight to the core to protect the Alebwelelapo Agenda.

It would be ridiculous for anyone to think that the PF would appear on the ballot come 2026, part of the rebranding agenda will culminate into the forming an alliance with any other formidable opposition in a quest to unseat the incumbency.

The New Dawn Government is headed for another field day come 2026 because the only party which was supposed to give it a running time is headed for collapse if they continued trading on the same trajectory. In the spirit of democracy and offering credible checks and balances, the PF must unite, resolve their impasse amicably and continue existing for purposes of it’s mandate. They have numbers in Parliament and Wards as compared to the Vaseline Party.

Petauke PF warns Miles Sampa

THE PF in Eastern Province Petauke have issued a stern warning against party’s self-appointed interim president and Secretary General Miles Sampa and individuals attempting to disrupt the party’s unity and tarnish its reputation.

This warning comes hours Sampa, escorted by dozens of supporters marched in and took control of the PF headquarters in Lusaka demanding for the PF leadership to hold its elective convention while protesting the recent appointments that elevated Raphael Nakacinda to the position of Secretary General.

But the party leadership in Patauke were particularly happy with the appointment of Nakacinda as Party secretary general.

Yesterday, a civil clash between PF cadres was sparked at the part Secretariat in Lusaka after Sampa’s opposers blocked access to the premises where he had initially planned to hold a press briefing.

And Sampa ended up winning the battle sharpening his amour for the inhouse war.

In a strongly-worded statement, Petauke PF information and publicity secretary, Rizwaan Dawood Patel emphasized their commitment to maintaining discipline and upholding the code of conduct in the Party.

“We also want to remind Hon Miles Sampa MCC to behave in a manner befitting of a member of Central Committee and learn to sort out differences internally in the Central Committee meetings and immediately stop this haphazard behaviour of rushing to media and creating unnecessary and childish rantings to create an impression of non existent confusion in the Patriotic Front,” he said.

He further warned those who wished to spearhead confusion and bring back thuggerism using hired guns to demean the party and it’s leadership that such behaviour will not be tolerated and will be dealt with severely according to the disciplinary code of conduct of the party.

Patel stressed the importance of unity, respect, and discipline within the party’s ranks.

He urged members to prioritize the party’s collective goals over personal or factional interests, emphasizing that these principles are paramount to the party’s resurgence and success in the upcoming elections in 2026.

1 Million Lotto ‘Win’ Turns Into Nightmare: Family Left Homeless After Falling For Online Scam

0

In a heart-wrenching tale of deceit and misfortune, a family in Beitbridge, Zimbabwe, has been left homeless and saddled with a US$2,000 debt after falling victim to a cunning online lotto scam.

A Dream Turned Nightmare
Over a decade ago, Mr. Taurai Amani, a 71-year-old resident of Dulivhadzimu in Beitbridge, lost part of his house during Operation Restore Order (Murambatsvina). Left with just two rooms, he dreamt of a bigger home for his children and grandchildren.

In 2019, his dream seemed to come true when his son received a message claiming he had won £1 million from an online competition in the United Kingdom. Unbeknownst to them, it was a scam.

Mr. Amani’s son was asked to deposit US$2,000 through Western Union to claim his prize. Desperate and excited, Mr. Amani borrowed the money and sent his son to make the payment.

The Scam Unravels
Trouble began when the scammers demanded an additional US$1,000. Suspecting foul play, Mr. Amani sought help from the police, only to realize that he had been conned. The US$2,000 borrowed was never repaid, and as he had used his house as collateral, it was seized by the lender, Mr. Collen Golden.

The Herald reports that last week, the Amani family was evicted from their home based on a court order. Their dire situation has rallied the community to help. Mr. Boyd Maphosa, a neighbour, expressed their determination to raise the necessary funds, stating, “Our plan is to raise the money within the shortest possible time so that we pay back Mr. Golden.”

A Lesson in Vigilance
Mr. Amani, now distraught, expressed his regrets, saying, “I felt the gods had answered my prayers of owning a bigger house for my family.” He also urged caution when dealing with online messages.

Mr. Alaska Mafuka, a para-legal consultant, advised people to seek legal assistance when entering into agreements and emphasized the importance of due diligence.

Legal Complexities
According to Mr. Golden’s lawyer, Mr. Foster Abheki, the Amani family had sold their house to Collen Golden Junior for US$4,000 in 2019. Despite receiving a partial payment, the family resisted leaving the house, resulting in a court-ordered eviction.

Mr. Abheki stated, “We are aware of the community initiatives to raise money on behalf of Mr. Amani. However, currently we are seized with responding to the legal application made by his lawyers.”

This heart-wrenching story serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of online scams and the importance of legal awareness. The Beitbridge community’s support shines a glimmer of hope for the Amani family in their time of need.

REEVES MALAMBO’S DAUGHTER LOCKS UP BUSINESS PREMISES….”I’ve locked up SparePro, Autoforce, Shaftex and the Freedom Way debonairs Franchise to protect his legacy”

REEVES MALAMBO’S DAUGHTER LOCKS UP BUSINESS PREMISES
….ive locked up SparePro, Autoforce, Shaftex and the Freedom Way debonairs Franchise to protect his legacy…..
As a daughter and beneficiary of the late slain Lusaka businessman, Reeves Malambo’s estate, l have opted to lock four business premises of the deceased owing to the failure by my elder sibling, Sarah Nkombo Malambo to equitably share the proceeds from the business operations.

According to his will, my late father at the time of his demise owned about ninety – five percent in his various companies while five percent was the preserve of a male Mr. Nkombo Malambo.

Ironically, the five percent share were however, allegedly claimed by my elder sister, Sarah Nkombo Malambo – female, who has illegally single-handedly been managing the businesses and as a sole signatory for the last six years without sharing any dividends with me and my younger siblings.

Her failure to sign for other beneficiaries has denied us an opportunity to proceed and further our education despite the resources being available for me and my younger siblings to do so.
While she utilized the resources to finance her education her.

Her entitlement to the businesses and insurmountable appetite by elder sister has further led to deterioration of some of the businesses my dad dearly loved and protected.

As if that is not enough, my sister has continued to serve, as a sole director of the businesses against prescribed business practices.
I have therefore, taken this decision to lock the following businesses: SparePro, Autoforce, Shaftex and the Freedom Way debonairs Franchise to protect his legacy.

I also wish to put it on record that dad had always wanted the best for me and my siblings by always settling our school fees without difficulty because he believed education is the best equalizer and investment, which my sister is denying us, today.

Surely dad must be moving in his grave at the treatment we have been subjected to since his demise by people we dearly loved and considered, as family.

ADVANTAGES: YUAN – KWACHA AS LEGAL TENDER BY AN ECONOMIST

You can solidify your post on yuan- kwacha as legal tenders if you wish so.👇🏿👇🏿👇🏿

This is good news for both Zambia and China, especially on trade benefits! The use of Zambian kwacha and Chinese yuan for trade between Zambia and China can provide several economic trade benefits. Let’s delve into more detail regarding the economic trade benefits of using the Zambian kwacha and Chinese yuan for trade between Zambia and China:

1. Simplification of transactions: When both countries use their own currencies for trade, it eliminates the need for currency exchange. This simplification can significantly reduce transaction costs by eliminating fees associated with exchanging currencies and mitigating the risks of exchange rate fluctuations. It also saves time and administrative efforts that would otherwise be spent on currency conversion.

2. Increased price stability: By using their respective local currencies, Zambia and China can have more control over their exchange rates and monetary policies. This stability helps in reducing the volatility of prices and enhances predictability in trade transactions. Businesses can make more accurate pricing decisions and plan for the future with greater certainty.

3. Boost in bilateral trade: The use of local currencies can facilitate trade between Zambia and China by removing the barriers posed by foreign exchange requirements. It creates a more conducive environment for businesses to engage in trade and investment activities, as they can directly transact in their own currencies. This not only streamlines trade processes but also fosters trust and confidence between trading partners, potentially leading to increased trade volumes and deeper economic integration.

4. Enhanced economic independence: When countries engage in trade using their own currencies, they reduce their dependence on third-party currencies, such as the US dollar. This autonomy can provide economic benefits by insulating countries from external shocks, such as fluctuations in global exchange rates or financial market instability. It also allows countries to exercise greater control over their monetary policies and manage their economies in a way that aligns with their specific needs and objectives.

5. Promotion of financial market development: The use of local currencies for trade can foster the growth and development of domestic financial markets. It encourages the establishment of new financial instruments, such as currency futures and options, which can help manage exchange rate risks. Additionally, increased trade in local currencies can contribute to the liquidity and depth of local financial markets, attracting more investors and stimulating overall economic growth.

However, it is essential to recognize that adopting local currencies for trade also comes with challenges. Some potential considerations include ensuring sufficient liquidity in the local currency markets, managing exchange rate risks effectively, addressing potential imbalances in trade flows, and enabling efficient settlement mechanisms. These challenges require close coordination and cooperation between the relevant authorities in Zambia and China to establish a robust framework for trade settlement in local currencies.

LUFUMA SPEAKS PEACE AHEAD OF DRC ELECTIONS

Minister of Defence, Ambrose Lufuma, has commended the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) for its commitment towards ensuring smooth flow of goods, through the Kasumbalesa border.

And Zambia has wished DRC peace before, during and after the general elections scheduled for the end of this year.

Mr. Lufuma who co-chaired the just ended 12th Session of the DRC/Zambia Joint Permanent Commission (JPC) meeting on Defence and Security in the mineral-rich Lubumbashi town in Katanga province, said this in his opening remarks.

Mr. Lufuma told the delegates that the commitment shown by DRC towards ensuring smooth flow of merchandise, especially through the Kasumbalesa border, is highly commendable.

Mr. Lufuma also cited some undertakings that need to be sustained or realised with the support of the defense and security apparatus.

He said that these include the landmark value chain electric car battery industry, the Kolwezi- Solwezi Road and the Lobito corridor railway infrastructure.

Mr. Lufuma however, said that notwithstanding these prospects, cross border crimes, including smuggling, illegal migration and other violations, as well as the threat of terrorism, remain a great concern to the Zambian government.

“These crimes have been compounded by the vastness of our common border, which has remained unmanned in some places,” said Mr. Lufuma.

He said that Zambia remains committed to the border re-affirmation exercise under the auspices of the Southern African Development Community (SADC).

Speaking earlier, DRC/Zambia JPC meeting Chairperson, Peter Kazadi, who is DRC Minister of Home Affairs and Security, called for more collaboration between Zambia and his country.

Mr. Kazadi said the two countries must be meeting regularly in order to assess the level of execution of the commitments made in the past with regards to common interests.

Mr. Kazadi said his desire for the 12th Session of the DRC/Zambia JPC meeting, was to see the dynamic that have always characterised previous sessions to continue with regards to the implementation of the various resolutions.

“I therefore, remain convinced for my part that the high sense of responsibility which motivates our experts, is a major asset for a successful outcome with a view to promoting security and peace along our common border, in the best interests of both peoples,” said Mr. Kazadi.

And Katanga Governor, Jacques Kyabula-Katwe said he was happy with the interest and full participation of the delegates who took part in the high level meeting.

Mr. Kyabula-Katwe said he is happy with the commitment of the delegates who took an active part in the meetings saying this will enable the two states to resolve a number of issues that arise both along the common border and in the respective cities.

“I do not doubt for a moment your determination to give priority to cohesion and to the higher interests of our peoples, which I am sure count for great deal,” said Mr. Kyabula-Katwe.

He also called for improved fraternal relations, as desired by the two respective heads of states, Felix Tshisekedi and Hakainde Hichilema.

Meanwhile, Zambia has wished the DRC peace before, during and after the general elections.

Minister of Defence, Ambrose Lufuma said this in his closing remarks at the just ended 12th Session of the DRC/Zambia JPC meeting, in Lubumbashi.

The general elections in the DRC are expected to be held on December 20, 2023 according to the Independent National Electoral Commission (CENI).

Simultaneous elections will be held for the President, the 500 members of the National Assembly, the elected members of the 26 provincial assemblies, and, for the first time under the new constitution, members of around 300 commune (municipal) councils.

French ambassador ‘literally being held hostage’ by Niger junta – Macron

0

President Emmanuel Macron has said that France’s envoy to Niger is living like a hostage in the French embassy and accused military rulers of blocking food deliveries to the mission.

The ambassador is living off “military rations”, Macron told reporters in the eastern town of Semur-en-Auxois on Friday.

“As we speak, we have an ambassador and diplomatic staff who are literally being held hostage in the French embassy,” he said.

“They are preventing food deliveries,” he said, in an apparent reference to Niger’s new military rulers. “He is eating military rations.”

Niger’s military leaders told French ambassador Sylvain Itte he had to leave the country after they overthrew President Mohamed Bazoum on July 26.

But a 48-hour ultimatum for him to leave, issued in August, passed with him still in place as the French government refused to comply, or to recognise the military government as legitimate.

The coup has been condemned by France and most of Niger’s neighbours.

Macron said the envoy “cannot go out, he is persona non grata and he is being refused food”.

Asked whether France would consider bringing him home, Macron said: “I will do whatever we agree with President Bazoum because he is the legitimate authority and I speak with him every day.”

France keeps about 1,500 soldiers in Niger and said earlier this month that any redeployment could only be negotiated with Bazoum.

The country’s new leaders have torn up military cooperation agreements with France and asked the troops to leave quickly.

Macron has for weeks rejected the call to remove the French ambassador, a stance backed by the EU which has described the demand as “a provocation”.

Like France, said EU foreign affairs spokesperson Nabila Massrali last month, the EU “does not recognise” the authorities that seized power in Niger.

The impoverished Sahel region south of the Sahara has suffered what Macron has called an “epidemic” of coups in recent years, with military regimes replacing elected governments in Mali, Burkina Faso and Guinea as well as Niger.

Last week, Colonel Amadou Abdramane, a spokesperson for Niger’s coup leaders, accused France of gathering forces and equipment in West African countries with a view to launching a “military intervention” against Niamey.

Niger is also embroiled in a standoff with the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), which has threatened to intervene militarily if diplomatic pressure to return Bazoum to office fails.

iPhone 12 to be updated in France over radiation

0

Apple is set to release a software update for its iPhone 12 in France due to concerns about radiation levels, according to the country’s digital minister, Jean-Noel Barrot.

Sales of the iPhone 12 were temporarily halted in France after regulators detected elevated electromagnetic radiation levels. Apple was instructed to address the issue.

The upcoming update will be specifically for iPhone users in France, as the company stated that the concern was related to a unique testing protocol in the country. Apple emphasized that the radiation findings did not pose a safety risk.

This development raises questions about Apple’s plans for the iPhone 12 in other countries, as the device was released just three years ago.

Mr. Barrot mentioned that the French radio frequency regulator (ANFR) would assess the new update for compliance before permitting the iPhone 12 to resume sales in France.

The World Health Organization has previously stated that there is no evidence to suggest that exposure to low-level electromagnetic fields from mobile phones is harmful to humans.

In a statement sent to AFP news agency, Apple said the radiation finding in France was “related to a specific testing protocol used by French regulators and not a safety concern”.

It said the iPhone 12 complied with emissions rules worldwide, but it would “issue a software update for users in France to accommodate the protocol used by French regulators”.

The ANFR previously told Apple that if it could not resolve the issue via a software update, it would have to recall every iPhone 12 sold in the country.

The regulator found iPhone 12’s Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) to be above what is legally allowed in France.

The iPhone 12 smartphone was first released in September 2020 and it is still sold worldwide.

Apple recently stated to BBC News that it was challenging the ANFR’s review. The company maintained that it had provided the regulator with lab results from both its own tests and third-party assessments, demonstrating compliance with all relevant regulations.

However, Mr. Barrot imposed a two-week deadline on Apple and expressed concerns that France’s findings might have a cascading impact as they are shared with regulators across the European Union (EU). Regulatory authorities in Belgium, the Netherlands, and Germany have also initiated investigations into the matter.

Germany’s BNetzA network agency informed the BBC that the French inquiry could lead to measures applicable to all EU member states. In contrast, no actions have been announced by the UK and the US following the French ban.

DAVIES MWILA HAPPILY HANDS OVER TO NAKACINDA.

Today I am very excited, because after losing power in 2021, the PF went into a rigorous process of introspection. We did a postmortem and resolved to go on a comprehensive process of rebranding. This meant to refocus on our founding ideals of being a nationalist pro-poor party.

Today, I am handing over the mantle to one of my brothers coming from one of the strong regions in this country which was one of the key regions in the struggle for our independence. For so long people had branded the PF as regional party (bemba).

Today we have demonstrated that PF is ready to work with every well meaning Zambian cut across the 73 tribes because that’s what we promised the Zambian people.

I want to thank the party leadership beginning with the President and the central committee for riposting this huge responsibility on you my brother, today the PF has shown that it’s not a bemba party as some have brandished it.

Infact it is a national party. We are looking forward to a day when we shall hear the UPND have Secretary Generals from other regions other than the ones we see in order to promote regional balancing.

My Brother, It’s not that you have been appointed out of convenience but you have proved to be a nationalist who strongly believes in the ethics of our party. You have been a strong defender of the party, at a time when we just lost power. Zambians can agree with me that, your strong voice of defending Democracy of our country is an questionable.

I have no doubt that you have both the capacity and ability to steer this part in the right direction and to ensure we retain to power again.

When we mean that we are rebranding this is what we actually meant.

Let me address you bwana SG, one of the main things that led to our loss was indiscipline by some of our cadres. And your number one challenge is to ensure there is discipline, meaning all those who involve themselves in indiscipline and violence do not belong to this new PF. The key to the success of PF in 2026 is discipline.

I am therefore calling upon the Patriotic Front membership across the country and the Zambian people to support the new Secretary General.

Congratulations Mwaiche Wandi !!

President Xi of China and HH of Zambia…finally meet and shake hands to diplomacy

Amb. Anthony Mukwita-15.09.23

“Zambia abides by the ´one-China principle´, highly appreciates the guiding concepts and principles of Chinese-style modernisation, and hopes to learn from China’s development experience,” President Hichilema.

In Beijing, the capital of the People´s Republic of China, President Xi finally shook hands with President Hichilema of Zambia outside the Great Hall ending standoff that has been in place since the Zambian leader assumed office in August 2021 after a general election.

This is a meeting many analysts domestic and international have been anticipating for more than 24 months due to a combination of factors ranging from debt to just normal geopolitics and diplomacy, mostly of ´east´ vs ´west´ under the changing ´new world order´ Zambia is a part of.
In the absence of a steady flow of news updates from Beijing, international relations pundits and authors like me turn to international media such as Reuters and CGTNtv for highlights on this historic event.

This perhaps President Hichilema´s most important international engagement since he assumed office as head of state.

The major take-aways I have captured through scouring international media present on the ground is as follows:
• President Xi ´supports and respects´ Zambia´s desire to ´safeguard´ its national sovereignty, security, and development interests. This ostensibly means no interference of any form in Zambian internal affairs as a partner.
• An export to China door from Zambia will be encouraged or even escalated for Africa´s second largest producer of copper.
• Xinhua also reports that Zambian and China have now upgraded their ties to a “comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership.”
• President Xi committed to work with Zambia to ´expand´ cooperations covering infrastructure, agriculture, mining, and clean energy.

THE DEBT ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM

I don’t as an analyst sitting in Lusaka know whether debt restructuring was discussed or not, but it is something Zambia needs like a flower needs rain from China whom it owes about $6billion in infrastructure debt over the years, the largest single creditor.

International news reports state that President Hichilema thanked President Xi for helping Africa become a new bloc member of the G20 at the recent historic New Delhi meeting according to Xinhua.

Whether Zambia will sign the crucial debt agreement with China is not known thus far.
It was not immediately known whether China and Zambia signed any debt agreements its sure-fire fact that China has a huge business stake in Zambia valued at over $11 billion ranging from mining to infrastructure it’s been growing since 1964 and now through the Belt and Road Initiative comprehensively discussed in my new book ´China in Africa the Zambia story´.

China buys a fifth of Zambian exports, especially copper it needs for construction expansion and the growing electric vehicle industry.

PRESIDENT HICHILEMA EMBRACES ONE-CHINA POLICY

Many foreign relations pundits were uncertain what position President Hichilema would take on behalf of Zambia regarding the Asian giants position on Taiwan, a country China regards as a break away renegade province but alas that came to pass, and the world had a sigh of relief as the Zambian leader embraced China at the expense of Taiwan.

“Zambia abides by the ´one-China principle´, highly appreciates the guiding concepts and principles of Chinese-style modernisation, and hopes to learn from China’s development experience,” President Hichilema said at the meeting with Xi according to Reuters.

President Hichilema is expected to return to Zambia with his entourage by Saturday, the nation waits with abated breath to hear the whole Chinese story that took so long to happen.

It is also unclear what the US and allies makes of the engagement of Zambia China at such a high level after discouraging Zambia to embrace Beijing but this is a developing geopolitical story, one can only guess.

YAKAIPA: THE RISE AND FALL

YAKAIPA: THE RISE AND FALL

By Mbunga Pan Africanist

To Mongu residents, Yakaipa was known for his never ending fleet of trucks that moved back and forth the Mongu-Lusaka stretch.

At times, when he woke up on the right side of his bed, he would storm the small town of Mongu in a long convoy of his long trailers, splashing hundred kwacha notes to the onlookers. Creating a scene reminiscent of a CBU moma splashing dry popcorn to a shoal of “ma fishi” in a pond at Varidine.

Ernest Sikaonga, popularly known as Yakaipa, was born and raised in the intestines of the forests of Barotseland. Between 1979 and 1983, his father, a Mambwe man from Mkushi arrived in Kaoma for business. His mother was a native of Kaoma, from the Sipopa area of Nkeyema district. He met the mother at about the same year, and Ernest Sikaonga was born. Ernest Sikaonga grew up as a sharp and charismatic boy, he is described by his former class mate as being intelligent as well. He did his education in Kaoma where he reached Grade 9. On his last term in Grade 9, Ernest’s mother had financial challenges and thus, could not afford to sponsor him any longer. She decided to sell one of the cows from her family kraal to raise funds for Ernest’s education. When Ernest was given the money, he decided to quit school and used the money for business. This was in 1996.

It was at this stage that he metamorphosed from the unknown Ernest Sikaonga to the popular Yakaipa. Yakaipa was a nick name that became a successful business brand. It is derived from the Nyanja language. The meaning is slightly synonymous to “ikali” or “Yakalipa” which are both euphemisms for strength and determination.
Word has it that he invested his school fees in into selling sweets in the streets of Kaoma. Later on in the eàrly 2000s, he diversified and moved into fuel. He was selling petrol and diesel on the roadside in 5 Liters containers.

In the mid 2000s, His business grew into an empire of conglomerations, from the selling of fuel, and now to the selling of Raw bundles of Tobacco. There was a time when people abandoned maize production and focused on tobacco growing. He took advantage of the maize shortage and exchanged mealie meal with tobacco before harvesting time. It turned out that almost all the tobacco produced in that year was his. It can be said he exploited the tobacco farmers mercilessly and made quite a lot of money that time. Business-wise, he was quite aggressive and exploited every opportunity that came his way. He managed to monopolized a lot of big transportation projects from JTI, FRA, ETG among others.

He later on invested into political connections. He supported and sponsored PF, and it was during that time that he had Transport contracts in Chipata ,Northwestern and Western provinces. This helped him to pay off his loans and he managed to invest in Lodges and guest houses across Koama, Nkeyema and Mumbwa.

It is easy for anyone to dismiss this as a ‘made up’ cover up. But notice that there are a lot of similarities here with the rise of other well known business men in Zambia. For example the Wadachovu brothers and Dumisani Ncube, these guys also succeeded in business by first winning contracts for transporting GRZ goods. We see the same in Yakaipa story.

However, the story of his downfall was extremely predictable. Before the Mumbwa incident of 13 September 2023, Yakaipa has always been the theme of neighborhood rumours. In Nkeyema and TBZ, locals have had protest against somthing to do with Yakaipa more than twice since 2012. In Mongu, his ostentatious behavior of splashing money in the streets also raised suspicions of his dealings.

Solid confirmation of all these negative rumours about Yakaipa came when his younger brother was implicated in the Pamela Abduction issues. The brother was seen in a video that went viral, confessing the details of the rituals he was caught up in. A few months after the brother was sentenced to over 50 years of imprisonment, the Mumbwa incident happened.

Events unfolded as follows:

On Saturday, evening, a man was killed and sets(private parts) and heart were removed.

On Monday, a suspect was caught by police.

Tuesday, another person was killed, a suspect was apprehended by police.

On Wednesday 13 September 2023, a person was being killed and killers were seen and reported. But of the two, only one was caught by the mob and taken to the police. The Mob got agitated and demanded that the police give them the suspected killers to be dealt with. When police did not comply to mob demands, the mob stoned the police station. Windows and other properties were damaged. Vet office was set ablaze too, immigration office windows broken.

The mob then ransaked town. They suspected Yakaipa was involved hence went to his construction site to administer justice. They stormed his lodge and set Yakaipa’s trucks on fire. When they broke into the lodge, they found a black coffin. When the coffin was opened, a black docile chicken was found inside the coffin. The Mob burnt the coffin together with the chicken.

When Yakaipa saw the mob, he tried to fire warning shots as he tried to escape. Unfortunately, when he went over the fence he found another mob that beat him to death. His colleague was caught up with and beaten, later burnt (Necklaced with a burning tire).

Police were overwhelmed hence called for reinforcement from ZAF Mumbwa. By the time ZAF Mumbwa was on GRD to bring back peace and control, property and lives had been lost and the crowd was demanding to see yakaipa to administer justice. Little did they know that the person they had already killed was Yakaipa.

Inspite of This, there are still rumours making rounds that Yakaipa was not killed in the riot. Citing that the person who was killed was actually his other younger brother. The other two people were Dollar One, and the body guard. Dollar One was Tanzanian friend to Yakaipa, he was running some business in Mumbwa. This is not the first time that Yakaipa is rumoured to have died or killed. Such rumours have been there before, but the man always pops up after some time. According to this assertion, the locals suspect that Yakaipa was hidden and protected by the police and soldiers, so that they can blackmail him.

As the writer of this passage, I am not a supporter of Yakaipa. I believe this man was a good business man at some point , but later on started using magic. I say this because of the rumours which were validated by the arrest of his brother who was involved in the Pamela Abduction issue. And also the coffin that was found in his lodge in Mumbwa.

ZAMBIA WILL BE DESTROYED IF THIS GOVERNMENT CONTINUES IN 2026- DR M’MEMBE

…as he bemoans selective prosecution

Lusaka… Friday, September 15, 2023 ( Smart Eagles)

Socialist Party President Dr Fred M’membe has condemned the discrepancies in the application of the law under the New Dawn Government.

Dr M’membe has noted a pattern where persons or supporters aligned to the UPND Government are not being prosecuted, whatever the crime they commit.

Recently, the Director of Public Prosecutions denied permission for the Inspector General of Police to be prosecuted for allegedly defaming Dr M’membe, a case which has since been dismissed.

Commenting on the matter, the Socialist Party Leader said the IG’s alleged offence is similar or more serious than the one he (Dr M’membe) was arrested for allegedly defaming Police Deputy IG.

He said this sets bad precedence, in that only selective people are prosecuted despite committing alleged similar offences.

Dr M’membe has emphasised that the Police IG does not have the immunity from prosecution.

He said if the Current Government is allowed to continue in 2026, Zambia will be totally destroyed.

“The IG offence, is similar for what we have been arrested for, it is okay for them to defame others and get away with it, but it is not okay for others to complain when they are defamed. I am coming to court on a matter to allegedly defame the deputy IG, the same day I was being arrested for defaming the deputy IG, the IG was busy defaming me, probably in a more serious manner than my alleged defamation of the Deputy IG. Where is the rule of law and fairness,” he said.

Dr M’membe has encouraged the Zambian people to analyse what is happening in the Country and come to a conclusion on the right thing to be done.

“These are people not fit to Govern, I Have said repeatedly that if this country is going to be a good country for any of us to live in, it must be a good country for all of us to live in. It can’t just be for one group, they are living well, they are the ones committing crimes with impunity, there is hunger in the country, many people can’t afford a meal every day, they are telling the people that the economy is okay, yes it is okay for them they are getting richer, by 2026 some of them will be billionaires. They are seizing people’s properties; themselves they are buying property yet no one is questioning them where the proceeds are coming from.

“This type of Governing is not a recipe for Governing well, it is a recipe for Disaster. I urge the Zambian people to open their eyes and see, analyse and come to the conclusions based on what is happening. Babwelesa njala, what are they there for, what is the price of mealie meal today and other commodities. What do people want from a government, they want to eat well and in peace,” he said.

Meanwhile, the case Dr M’membe is accused of defaming deputy Police IG Milner Muyambango has still not been allocated.

Dr M’membe’s lawyer Simon Mwila Mulenga expressed disappointment that the matter has continued to drag.

“There hasn’t been any proper response from the Court why they are not bringing the docket to court. We are going to the police to extend his bond, these are serious inconveniences……..,” he said.

Miles Sampa and his party cadres breaks down gate and breaks windows, storms PF Party Secretaria

Miles Sampa’s supporters win bloodless fight against rival group at PF secretariat

THE PF secretariat was a hive of activity this afternoon as rival PF groups took citizens down the memory lane of violence and stone throwing.

As party wrangles reached fever high this afternoon, the PF resorted to its traditional use of violence, a language that most members understand and speak fluently.

Matero member of parliament and the party’s presidential aspirant Miles Sampa made a grand entry into the party headquarters after dozens of his supporters out-stoned rival party members who had been assigned to block him entry.

Once inside, Sampa set a pile of wood ablaze at the main entrance of the building saying no one will be allowed in until a conference to elect a new party leader is held.

Today’s chaos began brewing yesterday when Sampa who does not recognise the makeshift party leadership insisting it’s illegal announced that he would be addressing the media at the PF secretariat at 14:00 hours today.

This morning, PF spokesperson Emmanuel Mwamba laughed off Sampa’s plans saying he was being dramatic and had no permission to hold a briefing at the secretariat, but defiant on Sampa surprised him.

As journalists arrived at the PF secretariat for the presser, they were welcomed by muscular PF cadres who turned them away saying Sampa would not be allowed in.

The hoodlums who were smoking what smelt like marijuana warned journalists that they would be subjected to the same wrath that was reserved for Sampa if they insisted on sticking around.

Using the journalistic instincts of sensing trouble, the media personnel stuck around observing from a distance.

At around 15:30 hours bus loads of masked PF cadres arrived armed with stones and empty beer bottles that they flung at the building smashing windows and sending their rivals scampering.

It was a bloodless victory for the Sampa group who forced the gate open and took over the headquarters.

Addressing his supporters, Sampa vowed to ensure the party followed the constitution in electing a new leader.

Sampa reiterated his position that the party’s vice-president Given Lubinda’s appointment of Raphael Nakacinda was illegal.

He also repeated his warning that former president Edgar Lungu’s schemes of returning to active politics would end in tears.

Afterwards, Sampa told Kalemba that from today onwards he would be the party’s interim president and Secretary General.

“I will be at the secretariat 24/7, even at night, I have rekindled Michael Sata’s funeral until a general conference is held for grassroots to elect a new leader. Meantime, I am the interim President and SG,” declared Sampa.

Meanwhile, Raphael Nakacinda has written to Inspector General of Police for malicious damage and holding an illegal meeting on the PF property.

YES I HAVE BEEN SUMMOMED BY THE POLICE- BINWELL MPUNDU

JUST TO CONFIRM THE INFORMATION, YES I HAVE BEEN SUMMOMED BY THE POLICE.

Dear friends and family i know you may have seen the call out already for me to appear before the police and so I’m posting this so that you all know whats happening for it may be difficult to for me to explain to each one of you are asking me what is going on.

You may recall that i reported some months ago that i was summoned to appear before the police for questioning in relations to an issue where some young men in my community were apprehended for criminal tresspass when they were found to scavanging in the old mine dumpsite where they unearthed some old scrap metals that were burried 3 meters down the ground many years ago.

It happens that i was approached by these young people to engange KCM for permission for them to collect this scrap and which permission was given and i communicated to the young people and they proceeded.
It therefore happened that the young people were arrested in the process for tresspass and theft and the managers at KCM after intimidation later claimed that they did not give permission because they did not write anything and so i was charged with the case of counseling the commissioning of the said crime.

So since we gave our statement to the police and they recorded a warn and caution statement i want to believe the police would now want to officially arrest me as they have decided to take the matter to court for determination.

I wish to state now that I’m available for the summons and we hope to see how far this issue will go.
Let me say that I’m not immune to prosecution because I’m not above the law and because we have a functional justice system i believe we can look with hope to justice being served.

I thought i explain this for all those who may be wondering what is going on.

REALITY CHECK: WHY HICHILEMA IS BECOMING MORE DESPERATE AND BRUTAL- Fred M’membe

REALITY CHECK: WHY HICHILEMA IS BECOMING MORE DESPERATE AND BRUTAL

Whenever a regime becomes tyrannical, it’s a sure sign that corruption or the looting of public resources has become more widespread and more serious than before.

History has shown that, in their quest to put a tight lid on their crimes and looting schemes, corrupt regimes and their leaders often weaponise the police and other law enforcement agencies in order to silence critical voices. In essence, they criminalise dissent so that they’re not scrutinised or challenged by critics. This is one of the most noticeable symptoms of a regime that has become desperate, highly corrupt and grounded in plotting and perpetuating evil.

And this is what we want the Zambian people to know and understand about Mr Hakainde Hichilema and his corrupt puppet regime that is governing the country today. The people must know that the nation is in the hands of a brutal, corrupt, vindictive, and petty leadership that hates being upstaged by anyone, especially the Socialist Party.

Zambians must be made aware soon enough so that they can psyche themselves up about the risks and dangers of having such desperate people in leadership. The people must be prepared way ahead of the extreme desperation that is rapidly setting in, and how this desperation is leading to more state-orchestrated brutality, intimidation, and vile and malicious attacks against critical voices.

There is no doubt that Mr Hichilema and his league are getting more desperate and angry about their inability to turn things around as per the promises they made during their campaigns prior to the 2021 general election. And so they want to insult, intimidate and suppress leading critical voices, and citizens who want to express their anger and frustration with the deteriorating living conditions in the country since the government took office.

We can safely say that for now, Zambia seems to be entering a critical period, as Mr Hichilema and his league are shifting their focus from dealing with the numerous problems facing the country to keeping a tight grip on power, despite their lack of understanding and solutions to the challenges the country is facing.

They’ve resolved to ruthlessly deal with political opponents, especially us, in their desire to halt our momentum and the spread of our message of justice, equity and peace. They have already sensed defeat and they’re in panic mode. And when people panic, they start making reckless and costly mistakes.

This is what is happening with Mr Hichilema. He is stuck, directionless and confused. As such, he has reverted to his default mode, which is directing his rogue and guerrilla media channels – Koswe and Zambian Watchdog – which are controlled from State House by his media team, to launch a vicious propaganda campaign of hate, insults, malicious content and vile attacks on his political competitors.

We are also aware of the surveys being conducted to gauge Mr Hichilema and his corrupt puppet regime’s popularity in different regions of the country. For instance, we know that the public perception and acceptability of this government on the Copperbelt and elsewhere is at an all-time low compared with governments before it. Their approval ratings are very bad. They have been rejected outright and told about the Socialist Party and the inroads that we have made on the Copperbelt and other places countrywide.

So we understand the panic and fear of being rejected by the people so soon after election victory.

Nevertheless, they’re gone. It’s over for them! In fact, the vile rhetoric, lies, insults and malice presently emanating from Mr Hichilema’s usual attack dogs at State House through their rogue media outlets is just speeding up the process of getting rid of this corrupt and dishonest puppet regime come 2026.

We know the pressure is on and confusion is raging in this government as it continues to push its failed policies and destroy the country even further. But no matter what they do or say, aba bena nabaya!

The countdown to their departure in 2026 has already started.

Zumani’s co-accused made confessions under duress – Court establishes

Zumani’s co-accused made confessions under duress – Court establishes

THE Lusaka High Court has ruled that the alleged confession made Given Phiri and Marlone Banda that Zumani Zimba supplied them with chemicals that were used to gas the general populace in 2020 was made under duress.

This is in a matter where Zimba, Phiri, Banda and Potiphar Gwai are facing charges of chemical terrorism.

Judge Koreen Mwenda had ordered for a trial within trial after Kenneth Nkhuwa an assistant commissioner of police at Muchinga in his evidence in chief alleged that Phiri and Banda disclosed that Zimba supplied them with Halothane and Faron that were found in their possession.

Nkhuwa claimed that Phiri and Banda consented to give an interview to the police in Petauke district and that he did not force them to disclose that they were supplied with the chemicals by Zimba.

He indicated that the environment in which the duo was interviewed was cordial.

“They (accused) did not answer in unison they were given an opportunity each. The environment was cordial no one knew we had suspected gassers it was not hostile. The interrogations were super! we heard stuff that we have never heard of,” Nkhuwa said.

During cross examination by Makebi Zulu Nkhuwa said the accused were detained at the inquiries because they had committed an offence for posing as public workers.

“It’s my words against theirs, I have to be believed because am an angel, police officers are angels and they (Phiri and Banda) cannot be believed because they are not angels they can be considered anything else but not devils,” said Nkhuwa.

In his testimony Phiri said that he and Banda were brutalized by the police and poured water on suspicion that they were behind the gassing of homes, schools and work premises.

He indicated that Nkhuwa never warned and cautioned them.

“I never told him (Nkhuwa) that Zumani supplied us the chemicals. I said I was a Petauke resident and I was there a few weeks ago and met the headman and the councilor of Nyika ward. I told him I was Lungu’s nephew and I asked him to consult Zumani,”Phiri said.

“He concluded that Zumani had sent us to gas people. We were tortured and forced to admit we were gassers or funders of those who were gassing.”

He said their business in Eastern province was to purchase red mercury from a Mozambican who later foiled the deal when she asked the police to keep it in their custody on conditions that she would give them a K15, 000.

Ruling on the matter judge Mwenda said she does not subscribe to Nkhuwa’s statement that the accused were treated casually.

“His ploy to exaggerate the benevolence of the police is suspicious. I am made to believe the evidence of Phiri that a gun was pointed to his head,”judge Mwenda said.

“The accused person were treated as suspects in gassing and the evidence that they were made to sniff chemicals was not challenged by the State. Gassing was considered serious at that time it is illogical to say that they were taken to the commissioners office without being beaten during interrogations.”

She indicated that she believed Phiri’s testimony that they were maltreated because it was not challenged by the State.

“The police had guns at the point of apprehending the accused. The beating, the officers water on the accused and made the accused to sniff chemicals, the death threats that they would be killed by the public if they told them that they were behind the gassing, I find that the above circumstances caused fear and were prejudicial to the accused,” Judge Mwenda said.

She said Nkhuwa being a senior officer issued a verbal warn and caution statement without considering that the same would have been helpful to the Court in arriving at a just conclusion.

“The accused persons did not understand the nature of the offence they were charged with as the officers themselves even failed to tell the Court what charges the accused faced,”said judge Mwenda.

“A free trial begins during investigations and any short comings may jeopardise the trial. I am not satisfied that the prosecution has established the facts beyond reasonable doubt in a trial within trial. The confession statements were not made freely and voluntarily. The portion of that evidence is expunged from the record.”

DON’T SAY UPND INFLUENCED THE APPOINTMENT OF NAKACHINDA AS PF SG

DON’T SAY UPND INFLUENCED THE APPOINTMENT OF NAKACHINDA AS PF SG…

By Stembridge Sikalundu

What LUBINDA must know is that he was not useful when PF was in power in most instances he was just favoured , one may recall that he once served as a back bencher , and his delay on appointment as justice minister , PF carders beat him up a matter which was taken to the courts , today GIVEN LUBINDA thinks he is the focal point in PF leadersh hierarchy . if ECL loved the PF party so much and he really wanted it to remain united ,where are the people who served high portfolios in PF that came from MMD , it was not for the service of this country after all , they were brought in to amass the wealth using the authority of ECL , was there any agreement to support ECL from that clique from MMD ?, yes ECL knows he did not have the funds to use for the 2015 presidential by elections ,how was ECL assisted ?, ECL knows why the WAKO NI WAKO emerged .

This scenario in PF has been caused by ECL because the character of ECL is defined by what others do for him , PF lost elections because of how ECL presided over the affairs of the country , the rest remain compromised by what ECL did for them as individuals , when they visit ECL they are still telling him what he wants to hear , ECL presumed to be in control of the PF party and he should continue giving influence and inside guiding decisions . What is the reason which could convince the world why PF is not going for a convention ?, PF must have known by now that ECL is not a democrat ,and he doesn’t like being tested using a populous anthem, that is his nature because he has no attributes which can convince any person from his voice and language .

It is very clear ECL is testing the waters because , ECL can’t be trusted with his own words , most of those in PF know what happened for ECL to become the party president in kabwe , if ECL intends to come back into active politics he would not want to go through a convention as a former president of this country because he knows he will face some resistance and he wouldn’t want to go through that embarrassing process , so this political game is a clear search for the majority support in line with what the followers are saying in the name of representing the zambian people . The surrogates to ECL know that without influential positions in the PF party , ECL will not achieve his new desire , typical of how ECL does things , when you hear his followers say ECL that and this ,that is exactly what he is sharing with them .

All PF members know that in PF no one has money like ECL and if I don’t hear that ECL is the richest man in Zambia and may be in southern Africa I will be very surprised because it is expected from the time he pronounced that he would endure become richer than the current president . The influence which ECL has is not because he did good things for this country , it is the muscle he has to fund all PF political activities if the opportunity measure convinced him . The people behind ECL are in two catigories those who benefited whose properties are in view to be siezed. and those who are pepetually ticks in ECL’s life . This is the reason I’ve always told PF members not to be surprised why PF lost power , the PF party has never had a leader since 2015 . Let’s see what the future holds . God bless mother zambia .

Outrage in South Africa after man shackled to police van and dragged down street

0

The police arrested a man and tied his hands together with handcuffs. Then, they pulled him along the road using their van and later physically attacked him.

A very upsetting video has become very popular in South Africa. It appears to show a man being pulled along a road in a very violent way on Friday evening around 6pm.

Police officers supposedly tied one of Milosh Basson’s hands to the back door of their car because they thought he had drugs.

A few people from the area chased after the van when it started driving in a neighborhood in Cape Town. They were yelling and screaming, and one person even tried to grab Milosh’s hand.

Milosh said he felt like he wasn’t fully awake for most of the difficult situation because he had been sprayed with pepper spray right before.

He was reportedly abandoned inside the van, injured and covered in blood, for a long time before being brought to the police station. He says that once there, officers kicked him and hit him with pipes.

Milosh said to SowetanLive that he was scared they might harm him at some time.

A video appears to show a person being handcuffed to a police vehicle in South Africa while it was moving.
Lawyer Keegan Lasker mentioned that he could only meet with his client after 10pm on that particular evening.

‘His clothes were covered in blood. He said that it was clear to him that he couldn’t help the person on a Friday because he was being treated badly by the police.

Milosh got out of custody on Monday after allegedly being accused of having drugs and not cooperating with the police.

The police are looking into what happened in a video that was shared and the officer who got hurt during the violent situation in Kensington.

The Ipid, which is in charge of overseeing the police in South Africa, said its investigators are going to meet with Milosh and ask him to share his statement.
A spokesperson said that they are starting to look into three people.

People often say that the police in South Africa are very violent and cruel. This reputation goes back to apartheid, when officers were used to make sure discrimination and segregation happened.

Although there have been big improvements, some of the old ways still exist as the country has become a democracy.

According to Ipid statistics, in the year 2019 to 2020, one person was killed every 20 hours because of police actions, on average.

In Johannesburg on August 26, 2020, a major case happened where a disabled 16-year-old named Nathaniel Julius was shot.
Police officers are being accused of causing his death because he was unable to respond to their questions due to his Down syndrome which made it hard for him to talk.

His family said he went out to buy biscuits and something really bad happened.

On August 16, 2012, the police in South Africa shot at a group of mine workers who were on strike in a place called Marikana, located in the North West province. This incident caused a lot of negative attention towards the police.

Around 34 people were killed and 78 people were severely injured when protests for higher wages turned violent, which is now referred to as the Marikana massacre.

Even the police minister, Bheki Cele, said that incidents of police violence in the country are concerning.
He recently explained to Parliament members that some police officers are doing a great job, but others are simply a result of the difficult social problems faced by all South Africans.

He said that these members are from very upset communities in our society.

Mr Cele continued, saying that the behavior we are currently seeing from South Africans should be the same behavior we expect from them. I heard that children are often similar to their parents.

He said that the state was trying to make things better for the police by hiring more psychologists and social workers to help with their well-being and mental health.

Man detained after groping Spanish reporter live on television

0

The Spanish police have taken a man into custody for allegedly touching a journalist in a sexual manner while she was appearing on live television.

Isa Balado was talking about a robbery in Madrid when he walked towards her and seemed to touch her backside. When she asked him about it, he said he didn’t do it.

Ms Balado tried to keep speaking, but the person in charge of the program stopped her.

Isa, sorry for bothering you. “Did he just touch your behind. ” Nacho Abad inquired.

The reporter agreed with Mr Abad, who told her to show the “idiot” on camera. Then, the camera moved to show Isa Balado and the man, who were still standing together and smiling happily.

Ms Balado told him that even though he wanted to know which channel they were from, there was no need for him to touch her bottom. She explained that she was currently doing a live show and focused on her work.

The man said he didn’t touch her, and then he tried to tickle her head as he left.

The police said they arrested a man for supposedly hurting a reporter while she was doing a TV show. The message was posted on X, which used to be called Twitter.

Mediaset Espana, the company that owns the news channel, said they support Ms Balado after the terrible situation she went through. They strongly condemn any kind of harassment or aggression.

Spain’s Labor Minister Yolanda Díaz also expressed her opinion about the incident, stating that it should not be ignored and there should be consequences for those involved. She wrote on X: “The reason why journalists going through sexual assaults like this is because of machismo. The people who attack them are not sorry and show no remorse on camera. ”

This happened as part of an argument about sexism in Spain. It started when the ex-president of the Spanish Football Association, Luis Rubiales, kissed World Cup winner Jenni Hermoso on the mouth.

He did things during the Women’s World Cup final that made many people angry. Because of this, a lot of people criticized him, he had to quit his job, and he was called to go to court for being accused of sexually assaulting and forcing someone to do something against their will.

Mitt Romney asks Trump and Biden to ‘stand aside’ for 2024

0

Mitt Romney, a US senator and someone who previously wanted to be president, has said that Donald Trump and Joe Biden should step aside and allow younger politicians to have a chance.

He said these things when talking to the media about his own intentions to stop working.

He said he was deciding not to run again because he believed it was time for younger leaders to take over.

MrRomney, who is 76 years old, has been involved in US politics for the past 20 years. He also served as the governor of Massachusetts for a period of time.

Lately, the important Republican has started speaking out against both Mr Biden and Mr Trump.

He will continue to be in the position until January 2025, which is when his senate term ends.

MrRomney made a video where he said he will not run again. He said that his age influenced his decision.

By the time another term ends, I would be in my mid-80s. He said that it’s time for new leaders. Even though I am not running for re-election, I am still going to continue fighting.

He said that he wants young people to join the Republican party, become candidates for office, and vote. He believes that both parties would benefit from having more choices of candidates from younger generations.

When asked by the BBC, Mr. Romney said it would be good if both President Biden and Mr. Trump step down and let new people from the younger generation lead their parties.

Mr Biden, who is 80 years old, and Mr Trump, who is 77 years old, are the leading candidates for the Democrats and Republicans in the 2024 presidential race, correspondingly.

MrRomney also pointed out differences between himself and some other Republicans. He believes that he represents a smaller and more thoughtful faction of the party that is focused on policy objectives.

According to him, Republican lawmakers who back Mr. Trump are mainly interested in getting revenge and settling perceived wrongdoings.

MrRomney ran for president as the Republican candidate in 2012, but he didn’t win. Barack Obama, who was already the president, ended up winning again.

Six years later, he became one of Utah’s two senators after being chosen in an election. He tried to become the Republican candidate in 2008 but it didn’t work out. He was also the governor of Massachusetts from 2003 to 2007.

In 2020, he chose to find Mr. Trump guilty during his initial impeachment trial, which was the first time a senator voted to find a member of his own party guilty. He was the only person from the Republican party who did it.

He voted to find the former president guilty again in his second impeachment trial after the riot at the US Capitol on January 6, 2021.

Ever since that time, Mr. Romney has been against the former president. Trump was happy about the news and expressed his excitement on Truth Social, using all capital letters. He said that Mr. Romney did not serve well and considered his retirement to be great news.

IfRomney isn’t there, his seat in the senate will most likely be given to one of the Trump-supporting candidates who are considered as potential options.

HH WINDOW SHOPPING IN CHINA – MOURINHO

….says the Zambian Head of State has made more foreign trips in the last 24 months than any other Presidents on earth

Lusaka….. Thursday, September 14, 2023 ( Smart Eagles)

The Socialist Party has slammed President Hakainde Hichilema for spending five days in China “Window Shopping.”

Speaking when he featured on Live FM radio, Party Deputy General Secretary Antonio Mourinho Mwanza said the President is in China for tourism purposes.

Mr Mwanza said President Hichilema has been totally ignored in China.

He said this is based on the reception President Hichilema has received in China compared to the one Venezuelan leader Nicolás Moduro has been accorded.

Mr Mwanza said it is evident that the Zambian President is trying to force himself on the Chinese Government.

“President of Venezuela is in China and has been given the honour of a presidential guard. For five days our President has been in China window shopping. Kuyenda kucheking’a ma phone. Ati Iphone 15 ioneka bwanji,” he said.

Mr Mwanza has further stated that nothing tangible is yet to be seen from the Presidential trips under the New Dawn Government.

He said President Hichilema has made more foreign trips than any other Presidents on earth in the last 24 months.

“Our President has had 51 foreign trips, there is no President on earth that had 51 trips in 24 months. I challenge him to show us foreign direct investment He has brought ro Zambia. Agriculture mwapaya mupasa bantu muma meda,” he said.

Mr Mwanza has explained that the Ministers under the New Dawn Government are not feeling the economic hardships because of the hefty allowances they are receiving.

“There is no fertiliser….Council workers have gone for four months without getting any paid. 31,000 marriages have ended because of hunger in the households. Tiyeni tiganizileko kuli ma maid na guard. If your minister is not staying in Government House, he is getting 20,000 per month housing allowance. Some of the MPs make in excess of k6000 per day from Tuesday to Friday in Parliament. Lelo Minister wamu new dawn achoka na K108,000,” he said

THE EXTENSIVE TRAVEL OF HH

Drain on Taxpayer Money

Lusaka………14th September 2023

Presidency comes with immense responsibilities and expectations, not least of which is the judicious use of taxpayers’ money. However, since assuming office, President Hakainde Hichilema’s numerous international trips, amounting to 51 in a relatively short period to be specific in two years mathematically means two trips per month, can not go unnoticed. These frequent journeys, are unwarranted drain on taxpayers’ funds, especially when Zambia is undergoing serious economic turbulences.

President Hichilema’s frequent travels are an exorbitant and unjustifiable use of public funds. The costs associated with such high-frequency international travel, including flights, accommodations, security, and associated expenses, are substantial. These expenses, when accrued over 51 trips, create a substantial burden on the national treasury.

The Zambian public has a right to know how their hard-earned money is being spent, and the president should be held accountable for these expenses. Without clear and detailed information, it becomes challenging to evaluate whether these trips are providing tangible benefits for the country.

One particularly concerning aspect of President Hichilema’s frequent travels is that Zambia already has a presidential fleet comprising two aircraft, which have been maintained at taxpayer expense. These aircraft are designed to accommodate presidential travel, ensuring convenience, security, and cost-efficiency for official trips.

The fact that President Hichilema has not consistently utilized these aircraft for his international travels raises questions about the rationale behind their maintenance. It seems illogical to maintain such an expensive asset while consistently opting for commercial flights and incurring significant costs .

It is essential to acknowledge that international travel is a crucial part of a president’s duties, involving diplomacy, trade negotiations, and participation in international forums. However, the frequency of President Hichilema’s trips begs the question of whether these engagements could be coordinated more efficiently, reducing the financial strain on taxpayers.

One alternative could be to consolidate multiple engagements into a single international trip, reducing the number of journeys. Additionally, the government could explore the possibility of utilizing the presidential fleet to its full potential, thus optimizing resources and minimizing costs.

The extensive international travel undertaken by President Hakainde Hichilema since taking office, totaling 51 trips, are worrying..The presidency involvement with engaging with the global community, is crucial to strike a balance between fulfilling international obligations and ensuring the judicious use of public funds. Transparency and accountability regarding the costs of these trivps are vital to address the concerns of the Zambian people and to demonstrate responsible governance.
