PF Accuses President Hichilema Of Abuse Of State Funds

0

The Patriotic Front has accused President Hakainde Hichilema’s administration of misusing state funds to pay former vice presidents Enoch Kavindele and Nevers Mumba. The allegations suggest that the two individuals are receiving monthly payments as “special envoys” of the President, without due parliamentary approval or clarity on the funding source.

The controversy stems from concerns regarding the lack of transparency and accountability in the appointment and remuneration of special envoys. They argue that the use of the term “special envoy” may serve as a loophole to bypass parliamentary oversight, as these roles typically do not require formal approval. Additionally, the PF raised questions about the legitimacy of such appointments and whether they align with the principles of democratic governance.

Below is the full statement

IS HH NOT ABUSING STATE FUNDS TO PAY NEVERS AND KAVINDELE

It would not be shocking to confirm that former vice presidents Enoch Kavindele and Nevers Mumba are receiving monthly payments for being named “special envoys” of President Hakainde Hichilema.

What would be shocking is that President Hichilema could insert these two on the government monthly payroll without such outside-establishment roles being put through a parliamentary approval process.

President Hichilema no doubt understands this fact. He understands too that the use of the term “special envoy” is a clever way to circumvent the need for parliamentary approval. However, it is also worth noting that in Zambia, special envoys are part time and hired for a specific assignment.

But Hichilema can not sidestep the issue of source of funds. That is why it is necessary for the government to explain quickly which vote of the budget is being used to effect payments to these special envoys, said to also include Guy Scott and Inonge Wina.
If the matter of the source of public funds for this project is not explained, civil servants involved in processing these payments should brace themselves for what could be Zamtrop II, over which some former senior public officers were jailed. What Hichilema is doing is exactly what landed Late President Chiluba in problems.

To avoid all this, President Hichilema should simply push a law giving benefits to all the countries former leaders, in the same manner days for National mourning are accorded them on their demise. We have a number of them notable among them, Lilly Monze, Vernon Mwaanga, Rabinson Chongo, Petronellla Kawandami Chisanga, General Kingsley Chinkuli and many others. His current way smacks of just being a selective manner for him to buy political support. What President Hichilema is doing is tantamount to using public resources for his personal benefit. He is using government money to buy and pay for Praise Singers to continue singing for him.
By far the most vocal have been Nevers Mumba and Enock Kavindele, whose loud praises have betrayed the fact that this is a Hichilema’s scheme to boost his public support.

Both Kavindele and Mumba were fired by late President Levy Mwanawasa. Can they then be deemed to have even completed their service? Enock Kavindele was Vice President to Fredrick Chiluba after the failed third term bid. Fredrick Chiluba later on campaigned for Late President Levy Mwanawasa until he won the 2001 elections. When Levy became Republican President, he continued with Kavindele as Vice President until Kavindele was fired. Kavindele himself knows the reasons. Hakainde Hichilema now President should know why Kavindele was fired.

After the dismissal of Kavindele, Levy Mwanawasa appointed Nevers Mumba whom he also later fired for among other reasons insubordination.

Nevers Mumba got the VP position by auctioning the National Citizens Coalition (NCC) which he had just changed from National Christian Coalition before selling it to the highest bidder.. With the kind of praises he has been heaping on Hichilema, Mumba could be preparing to do a similar thing to the Movement for Multiparty Democracy (MMD) faction he leads. Auction it for his own benefit.
Kavindele, on the other hand, will go to whoever promises to help him do his North West Railway project. Under the Movement for Multiparty Democracy ( MMD) and Patrioitic Front ( PF) government, Kavindele tried everything possible to bring government on board but he had no enough funds to be guaranteed by the Government of Zambia to borrow.

What Kavindele wanted was to get a government assurance that the railway line would be profitable then use that document to borrow. However, the would be lenders insisted that he also puts his own money on the table. He failed to do so. May be Hichilema has promised to lend him some money.

Kavindele is no longer a wealth man. He is broke. He is just remaining with his name, big house and a Rolex.
It is worth noting that both Kavindele and Mumba became popular and easy to be recognised in politics because they had monopoly in whatever they were doing.

Nevers Mumba was one of the few who preached the ” gospel of prosperity” through Pentecostalism. Kavindele had unique companies that dealt with ZCCM like KB Davis.

When more Pastors preaching similar messages like those of Nevers Mumba came on the scene, Mumba’s influence started fading. Same with Kavindele. When business competitors appeared on the market, Kavindele’s fortunes started dwindling. Both Nevers Mumba and Enock Kavindele are pieces of SCRAP METAL wanting to survive on government coffers.

Kavindele has declared that Hichilema is doing a fantastic job, despite all the daily evidence to the contrary: crippling high cost of living, mismanagement of national strategic maize stocks resulting in compromising of national food security, worst exchange rate in history, murky deals over country’s mining assets, crass tribalism, and the most repressive political environment comparable to the days of one party system.

A very good example of this political oppression is the warning by Zambia Police Spokesperson Rae Hamoonga, that former President Edgar Lungu should not venture into any public place, such as a market or central business district because he will be breaking the law!
This was after former President Lungu took a walk through part of Lusaka CBD and some markets to check how Zambian traders are coping with the shrinking economy, and to encourage people to buy from local businesses to help them sustain their activities.

Former President Lungu as a Zambian citizen should be free to move wherever he wishes. The government, however, wants to restrict him because wherever he goes people are complaining about the high cost of living.

It is even shameful for Hichilema to allow the Police to issue such threats against Egdar Lungu when in 2018 he took a similar tour of the Central Business District ( CBD) of Lusaka.

Worse still, can one compare Edgar Lungu’s walk in the Lusaka CBD with Hichilema’s Motorcade racing against then President Edgar Lungu’s in Limulunga Western Province a stance that led to his arrest?

Hakainde Hichilema and his Graphael Musamba’s Police should not think that every Zambian is a fool.
Who committed a crime between Edagr Lungu who was exercising his rights and Hichilema who endangered the life of a sitting President? Who does Hichilema think he is? Did he drop from Pluto or Jupiter for him to be treated differently?

Kavindele also knows that any sitting President responsible for harsh living conditions in a country can not be said to be doing a fantastic job. Kavindele’s claim, therefore, suggests that he is receiving some kind of benefit!
And in the current form any such benefit could be resulting from abuse of state funds by the Head of State and everyone involved should be prepared to face the consequences when the appointed time finally arrives.
They say the ” Wheels of Justice are slow” but they will surely come.
Which budget allocation is Hichilema using to feed Kavindele and Mumba?

ABOUT THE ARREST OF FAZ OFFICIALS: GENUINE LAW ENFORCEMENT OR MERE WITCH-HUNT?

ABOUT THE ARREST OF FAZ OFFICIALS: GENUINE LAW ENFORCEMENT OR MERE WITCH-HUNT?

By Sean Tembo – PeP President

1. On 23rd April 2024, four Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) officials were arrested by the Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC). These were Mr. Andrew Kamanga; the FAZ President, Mr. Reuben Kamanga; the FAZ General Secretary, Mr. Madalitso Kamanga; a member of the FAZ Security Committee, and Mr. Jairos Siame; a member of the FAZ Protocol Committee. The quartet was jointly charged with three counts being (i) Obtaining money by false pretences contrary to Section 309 of the Penal Code Cap 87 of the Laws of Zambia (ii) Obtaining pecuniary advantage by false pretences contrary to Section 309 (A) of the Penal Code and (iii) Conspiracy to defraud contrary to section 313 of the Penal Code. On Monday, 6th May 2024, the quartet was summoned back to DEC offices were a fourth charge of giving false information to a public officer, was jointly preferred against them, based on the same allegations.

2. There have been accusations and counter-accusations flying around the media that these charges are frivolous and designed to taint the current crop of FAZ officials so that they can be less appealing to delegates when FAZ goes for an elective Annual General Meeting (AGM) next year. These allegations further state that the Minister of Sports conspired with the Drug Enforcement Commission to undertake this alleged smear campaign, with the objective of increasing the chances of MUZA United Football Club Chairman, Mr. Keith Mweemba to win the FAZ Presidency next year, where it is further alleged that he intends to stand and challenge the incumbent Andrew Kamanga.

3. Do these allegations have any substance to them, or it is a case of the Andrew Kamanga FAZ trying to hide their maladministration and plunder of resources in the local football administration? Does the Minister of Sports or indeed any other individual or group of individuals really have the power and influence to cause a law enforcement agency such as the Drug Enforcement Commission to prefer criminal charges against persons who have not committed any offense? Why are there so many Kamangas at FAZ? Are these people relatives and is Mr. Andrew Kamanga conspiring with his fellow Kamangas to defraud FAZ, at the expense of Zambian football?

4. The above are some of the questions that have been lingering in my mind for the past few weeks ever since Mr. Andrew Kamanga and three other individuals at FAZ were arrested by DEC. And l believe they are the same questions which have been on the mind of every other football loving Zambian out there. So l decided to do some basic digging around in order to separate the smoke from the fire. Suffice to mention that the facts in this matter are readily available in the public domain. Controversy only arises in terms of how these facts are interpreted. Let us review the facts and see if we can arrive at the same interpretation and conclusion.

5. It is a fact that the four criminal charges which have been laid against the FAZ President, FAZ General Secretary and two others, by the Drug Enforcement Commission arise from a letter which the FAZ General Secretary wrote to the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Arts on 3rd January 2024. The letter was titled: AFRICA CUP OF NATIONS – ADVANCE PARTY. The letter has 3 paragraphs. Paragraph 1.0 says “We refer to the above captioned matter, the Association wish to submit names of officials traveling on the Advance Party to go and make preparations for the Africa Cup”. Paragraph 2.0 says “We wish to inform you that Mr. Justin Mumba (the Vice President of the Football Association of Zambia), Messrs Madaliso Kamanga and Jairos Siame (Football Association of Zambia officials) have been appointed to travel on the Advance Party, whose mandate is to ensure that all logistics for the team’s participation in the tournament are in place ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations scheduled for Cote D’Ivoire “. Paragraph 3.0 says “We thank you for your usual assistance and support”.

6. According to the particulars of the alleged offenses preferred by the Drug Enforcement Commission on the quartet, DEC alleges that Mr Madaliso Kamanga and Mr. Jairos Siame are not FAZ officials, and that the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Arts was misled into buying air tickets and paying per diem allowances to these two individuals who are not FAZ officials, and that out of the trio who travelled to Cote D’Ivoire as a FAZ advance party, only Mr. Justin Mumba, the FAZ Vice President is a FAZ official. So the contention here is on the definition of a “FAZ official”. Who really is a FAZ official? We know for a fact that Mr. Madaliso Kamanga is a member of the FAZ Security Committee, and Mr. Jairos Siame is a member of the FAZ Protocol Committee. But does a member of a FAZ Committee qualify to be referred to as a “FAZ Official”?

7. Well, luckily for our debate, the FAZ Constitution actually defines who a FAZ Official is. On page 4 of the FAZ Constitution, under the heading of DEFINITIONS, a FAZ Official is defined as ” every board member, committee member, referee and assistant referee, coach, trainer and any other person (except players) responsible for technical, medical and administrative matters in the Association …” It appears therefore that by virtue of being members of the Security and Protocol Committees respectively, Mr. Madaliso Kamanga and Mr Jairos Siame are, by definition, FAZ Officials. In fact, according to the FAZ Constitution, even if Mr. Madaliso Kamanga and Mr Jairos Siame were not members of any FAZ Committee, they would have qualified to be “FAZ Officials” merely by virtue of being tasked with administrative responsibilities by FAZ, regarding the Africa Cup of Nations tournament. Therefore, Mr. Madaliso Kamanga and Mr Jairos Siame both twice qualified to be referred to as FAZ Officials in the letter that the FAZ General Secretary wrote to the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Arts on 3rd January 2024. Firstly by virtue of being FAZ Committee Members, and secondly by virtue of having been tasked by FAZ to perform administrative duties during the Africa Cup of Nations tournament.

8. Therefore, we can safely conclude that the four counts for which the quartet is jointly charged with, being (i) Obtaining money by false pretences contrary to Section 309 of the Penal Code Cap 87 of the Laws of Zambia (ii) Obtaining pecuniary advantage by false pretences contrary to Section 309 (A) of the Penal Code, (iii) Conspiracy to defraud contrary to section 313 of the Penal Code and (iv) giving false information to a person employed in the public service, are frivolous, vexatious, malicious and without merit whatsoever. That is because there was nothing misleading or false in the letter which the FAZ General Secretary wrote to the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Arts on 3rd January 2024. All the three individuals in the advance party were, by definition, FAZ officials. But this matter does not end here. There are a few more salient issues that l want you to pay attention to. The first issue is the involvement of the Drug Enforcement Commission in making these arrests. All the four alleged offenses above fall under the Penal Code Act, Cap 87 of the Laws of Zambia. None of the alleged offenses above fall under the Prohibition and Prevention of Money Laundering Act No. 44 of 2010 of the Laws of Zambia, which would give the Drug Enforcement Commission jurisdiction to make arrests and prosecute the matter. So how did DEC come in? Does the fact that Mr. Keith Mweemba, who is alleged to be vying for the FAZ Presidency, worked at DEC as a prosecutor together with the current DEC Director General, Mr. Nason Banda, have any bearing on this DEC overreach and abuse of prosecutorial powers? Is Mr. Nason Banda abusing the authority of his office as DEC Director General to try and propel his former colleague to the FAZ Presidency by soiling the reputation of Andrew Kamanga and his team? Why did DEC get involved in a purely Zambia Police matter?

9. The second salient issue that l want you to pay attention to is the fact that the letter of 3rd January 2024 which was written by FAZ to the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Arts and from which all the criminal charges above emanate from, was signed by the FAZ General Secretary and not the FAZ President. In fact, according to the FAZ Constitution and as a matter of fact, the FAZ President is not involved in the day to day operations of the Association. He does not even have an office at the FAZ Secretariat. He only goes to the Secretariat to attend Board Meetings. So why did the Drug Enforcement Commission find it necessary to charge Mr. Andrew Kamanga? Is the DEC Director General, Mr. Nason Banda trying to do a favor for his colleague by soiling Andrew Kamanga’s reputation so that his colleague can have it plain sailing should he stand for the FAZ Presidency at next year’s elective AGM? Is it that only charging the FAZ General Secretary would not have sufficed for purposes of their conspiracy to taint FAZ and portray it as a corrupt organization? Or is it that DEC wanted to drive a particular false narrative in the eyes of the general public by arresting many Kamangas, whom by the way are not related at all? Andrew Kamanga is a Ngoni from Chief Saili of Chipata District, whereas Reuben Kamanga is a Chewa from Chief Change, and Madaliso Kamanga is from Chief Chinunda of Chipangali District.

10. Whatever the case, Mr. Nason Banda and his team at the Drug Enforcement Commission should feel ashamed and drop these frivolous, vexatious, malicious and unmeritorious charges against the FAZ officials. The three individuals whom FAZ sent to Cote D’Ivoire as an advance party for the Africa Cup of Nations tournament were, by definition, all FAZ Officials. Mr. Nason Banda and his team at DEC should know that the term “FAZ Official” should not be interpreted based on their common sense or lack thereof, but should be interpreted based on the definition provided in the FAZ Constitution. If the Drug Enforcement Commission was not driven by ulterior motives and if they had done a basic investigation before effecting arrests, they would have seen that their case lacks any merit whatsoever. Unless Mr. Nason Banda is telling the Zambian people that DEC is a morally bankrupt mafia organization whose sole mandate is to pursue frivolous vendettas against innocent Zambians on behalf of powerful connected people? Is that what DEC is? We know that football, just like politics, has always been a dirty game. But let the contestants at next year’s elective FAZ AGM fight on a level playing field, and hope that whoever wins the FAZ Presidency will take Zambia’s football to greater heights. We do not expect Mr. Nason Banda to be abusing the authority of his office, as well as taxpayers’ money, to try and influence FAZ politics. Go and catch some junkies smoking glue, Mr. Banda. That’s what your job is. Anyway, the Future is SET ✌🏼✌🏼✌🏼

UKA Boss Lucky Mulusa And Dora Siliya Distance Themselves From Frivolous Statement Purporting To Be In Support Of Zumani Zimba’s Defamatory Statements

Dr Nevers S. Mumba writes….

U-K-A BOSS, LUCKY MULUSA AND DORA SILIYA DISTANCE THEMSELVES FROM FRIVOLOUS STATEMENT PURPOTING TO BE IN SUPPORT OF ZUMANI ZIMBA’S DEFAMATORY STATEMENTS.

It has come to our attention that a number of FAKE statements have been issued regarding our pending defamation case against One Dr. CHRIS ZUMANI ZIMBA.

Earlier today, we woke up to rather desparate, forwarded, messages of a poorly written statement, allegedly quoting Honourable Lucky Mulusa who is the Secretary General for the United Kwacha Alliance (UKA). In the statement, Honourable Mulusa is quoted as having offered himself as a witness against us in the soon coming case.

I wish to confirm that Honourable Mulusa has spoken to me both on the phone and in person and he is quite upset about why his name is being used in this mud-slinging scheme orchestrated by elements that are very well known to us. Honourable Mulusa further distanced himself from both the authorship and the Contents of the statement.

We also wish to confirm that Honourable Dora Siliya has equally indicated total ignorance over the purported statement that was written without her consent or knowledge.

Kindly disregard the statement and treat it with the contempt it deserves. We remain determined to pursue this case to its ultimate conclusion, and to be part of the process to cleanse our politics from being characterized by cheap propaganda, slunder and malicious defamation. We remain commited to contribute to a new type of politics that is issue based, civil and centred around the national agenda instead of on insults and deception.

Remember this is not a fight about cleaning the name of Nevers Mumba. This is about cleaning Zambian Politics and ridding it of elements that are not in line with the temets of democracy, morality and integrity.

We therefore wish to urge Zumani and his desperate friends to remain calm and wait for their opportunity to prove their case in court.

CDF IS A LOOTING EXERCISE AND FEEDING FRENZY FOR THE UPND CADRES – Amb. Emmanuel Mwamba

CDF IS A LOOTING EXERCISE AND FEEDING FRENZY FOR THE UPND CADRES

By Amb. Emmanuel Mwamba

We have been disclosing that CDF has become a corrupt, feeding frenzy and utter theft of the fund by and for the UPND cadres.

As soon as President Hakainde Hichilema advised UPND party cadres to register cooperatives to benefit from both CDF and FISP programs, the cadres assumed this was a que to repayment and reward for their 2021 electoral campaign work and have hijacked the fund.

Supply of desks, the grants and loans, contracts for mending roads, building of 1×3 classrooms, building of clinics and health centres, and toilets, have all been hijacked by the cadres and have forced the contract awards to be given to themselves.

The resultant works done are shoddy and criminal in many cases.

In events where Council Secretaries and Town Clerks have attempted to do a professional process, they have been accused of frustrating UPND Government progress and have been harassed, transfered and others have faced protests calling them Patriotic Front members.

Recently terms of tenure for Ward Development Committees members expired, and the re-election has been a UPND affair.

The Ward Development Committees are key to procurement awards in the Constituency Development Fund (CDF).

For example, in Mutendere the election of WDC was so violent because area Member of Parliament, Hon. Mike Mposha, gave firm directives that only members of UPND should vote.

Yet this entire process is meant to be a community affair to allow citizens to participate in managing their development and local affairs.

So the shock experienced by the Minister of Finance, Dr. Situmbeko Musokotwane is laughable.

The looting and abuse of CDF he found in Kalabo and Liuwa Constituencies is normal. He should get a sample done by that ineffective and illegal Auditor General of theirs.

The so-called Auditor General also exposed the looting taking place on CDF and cited in his 2023 Audit Report.

A woman who claims she’s not had any food, water or used the toilet for 16 years says doctors have said she’s perfectly healthy

A woman who claims she’s not had any food, water or used the toilet for 16 years says doctors have said she’s perfectly healthy and she now believes she knows the reason why.

Muluwork Ambaw said the last meal she had was when she was a 10-year-old girl and the meal was lentil stew. Now aged 26, she claims she hasn’t eaten or drunk anything age 10, because she simply hasn’t had an appetite.

The mum-of-one, who lives in Jimma, Ethiopia, says she likes to cook for her family but she doesn’t get hungry.

She said doctors in India, Qatar and Dubai have tested her but no one can explain the strange phenomenon.

Drew Binsky, a Guinness World Record holder and UK-based YouTuber, decided to visit Muluwork to see if he could understand how she was still surviving after a 16-year fast.

She said: “I used to live with my family, and they asked me to eat breakfast and go to school. I said I had eaten but I was pretending. I had lost my appetite for water or for any food.”

Now Muluwork likes to spend time in her garden, where she grows vegetables, in case her sister or visitors come, so she can cook fresh food for them. She added: “I cook as much as I want, but I have no appetite.”

As Muluwork has fasted for 16 years, she also hasn’t had to use the toilet. She told Drew:

"The only reason I go to the bathroom is when I need to wash my body. I haven't used the toilet for 16 years."

When Muluwork became pregnant she was given infusions of glucose to help supplement the body’s natural energy. She also wasn’t able to breastfeed, as she wasn’t producing milk, and explained: “And when I gave birth, she fed on artificial milk”.

Drew asked her: “Is it true?”. She simply replied: “Yes, it’s true. I haven’t eaten for the last 16 years.” When Muluwork explained she had several medical tests done, and they hadn’t found anything wrong with her, he and his crew looked into it further – and confirmed her story.

After three years of tests, doctors noted that there was no food, water or waste products in her digestive tract – which suggested she didn’t have a need to “urinate or defecate”.

In Dubai and Qatar, they also did tests to check up on her mental health, but again, they didn’t find anything wrong with her.

Muluwork believes her unusual condition is “the work of God. She will now continue her fast and has said she doesn’t think she will ever eat again.

To those who don’t believe her, she says they should come visit her, and they will soon see that she doesn’t eat or drink anything.

UN General Assembly supports Palestine’s membership application

The United Nations General Assembly voted in favor of allowing Palestine to become a full member of the UN. They also recommended that the UN Security Council look into the request and approve it.

The 193-member General Assembly voted to see if many countries support Palestine becoming a full member of the UN. This would mean that the world officially recognizes Palestine as a state. The United States said no to this in the UN Security Council last month.

The group agreed on a decision with 143 members voting yes and nine voting no, including the US and Israel. Another 25 countries chose not to vote. It doesn’t make Palestinians full members of the UN, but it does say they are able to become members.

The agreement says that Palestine is a state. It suggests that the country should be allowed to join the group and recommends that the Security Council think about it in a positive way.

The Palestinians want to be full members of the UN. This comes after seven months of fighting between Israel and the Palestinian group Hamas in Gaza. Also, Israel is building more homes in the West Bank, which the UN says is against the law.

“We want peace and freedom,” said Palestinian UN Ambassador Riyad Mansour before the vote. Voting yes means supporting the existence of Palestinians and does not mean being against any state. Please rewrite the following text in simpler language. Thank”It is putting money into peace. ”

“He said voting yes is the right thing to do and people clapped. ”

The UN Charter says that countries who want to join the UN must want peace and agree to follow the rules in the Charter. They must also be able to carry out the responsibilities in the Charter.

“Many of you hate Jews, so you don’t care that Palestinians don’t want peace,” said UN Ambassador Gilad Erdan, speaking after Mansour. He said the assembly tore up the UN Charter. He used a small machine to destroy a copy of the Charter at the podium.

“Erdan said that he is disappointed in you. ”

To join the UN as a full member, a country’s application must first be approved by the Security Council, which has 15 members, and then by the General Assembly. If the council votes for the measure again, it will probably be vetoed by the US.

Additional UN rights More rights from the United Nations

Deputy US Ambassador Robert Wood said that taking action at the UN without working with other countries is not a good idea. The plan for two separate states will not move forward.

“We did not vote against a Palestinian state. We have been very clear that we support it and want to help make it happen. ” Instead, it means they recognize that the only way to become a state is by talking and making agreements with each other, he said.

The United Nations has supported a plan for two separate countries to live next to each other with safe and agreed upon borders. Palestinians want to have their own country in the West Bank, East Jerusalem and the Gaza Strip, which were taken by Israel in a war in 1967 with other countries in the area.

The resolution passed on Friday gives the Palestinians more rights and privileges starting in September 2024. They will have a seat among the UN members in the assembly hall, but they won’t be able to vote.

The Palestinians are now considered a state by the UN, even though they are not official members. This happened in 2012.

The Palestinian Authority represents them at the UN. They have some control over the West Bank. Hamas removed the Palestinian Authority from control in Gaza in 2007. Hamas, a group that wants to destroy Israel, started the attack on Israel on October 7th. This led to Israel attacking Gaza.

Erdan said on Monday that if the General Assembly passed the resolution, he thinks that Washington will reduce the money it gives to the United Nations and its groups.

According to US law, Washington can’t give money to any UN group that lets in a group without all the internationally accepted rights of being a country. In 2011, the United States stopped giving money to UNESCO, the UN cultural agency, because the Palestinians became a full member.

On Thursday, 25 Republican US senators – more than half of the party’s members in the chamber – introduced a bill to make the rules stricter and stop money going to any group that supports the Palestinians. The Senate, which is controlled by President Joe Biden’s Democrats, probably won’t approve the bill.

I am Running Very Low On Cash, But I Would Rather Sleep On The Streets, In A Foreign Country, With My Freedom, Than Being In President Hichilema’s Prison- Chilufya Tayali

EEP President Chilufya Tayali WRITES:

·

I AM RUNNING VERY LOW ON CASH, BUT I WOULD RATHER SLEEP ON THE STREETS, IN A FOREIGN COUNTRY, WITH MY FREEDOM, THAN BEING IN PRESIDENT HICHILEMA’S PRISON

Wakng up in a hotel, in a foreign land, can very stressful. I just arrived here and I only paid for three days. The receptionist just called to ask if I am extending my stay, but I have a lot money to pay for a long extension.

Ala, it’s not easy being in a foreign land, I am only surviving by the grace of God. IT’S ONLY GOD THAT HAS SEEN ME INTO THE THIRD MONTH, NOT THE USELESS PROPAGANDA OF BEING PAID BY WHOEVER.

If you are arguing with me, try to leave just your home into the next town, living in a hotel and see if those you support politically will sustain you. Mind you I have to fly, awe sure, I am grateful to God.

My help is not coming from political activists, but just good people who have opened their hearts to me.

Thanks to Chanda, from the diaspora, for sending money to my mother. I really appreciate it. I also appreciate all those that have helped out of their kind and generous hearts.

I know my enemies would want me to suffer, so that I come back to Zambia, and got to Prison (not my home, as in my house), but I would rather be on the streets, in a foreign land, than to give President Hichilema my freedom.

God will see me through, and I will testify. I am not a criminal, I am just a voice of the voiceless, the Public Lawyer, God approves my works and that’s why he is sustaining me, just like the Apostles in the Acts of the Apostles.

People with little knowledge, are reacting like I am the first person to leave my Country due to persecution, but read the Bible, see how many Prophets, including Jesus, had to run away from ruthless leaders, like President Hichilema.

In politics and advocacy, we have plenty of big names, evading compromised security wings, like ours in Zambia. But some of them, ended up being Presidents.

Did you know that Nelson Mandela evaded the apartheid police for 3 months before he was captured on his way from Durban? He was captured with the help of the CIA and later jailed for 27 years. Mandela came from prison, to became the first President of South Africa.

Anyway, I don’t know about my future but I know, God has a plan for me, except it has not yet been revealed, so those who think they are Prophets, they can say whatever they want, my focus is on God.

State Benefits for the Vice President in retirement

..especially now that the position of Vice President enjoys direct suffrage, state benefits must accrue to them…

By Amb. Emmanuel Mwamba

I have always advocated that former Vice Presidents, especially now that the position enjoys direct universal suffrage, or election from the people, must be paid a monthly salary of 80% of their incumbents and minimum state benefits such as living expenses, state security and other retirement benefits must acrue to them.

I have stated that Hon. Inonge Wina must enjoy retirement benefits like former President, Edgar Lungu, as she was elected directly by the people as a running mate to President Edgar Lungu.

To this effect, I have stated that we should cause an amendment to the Former Presidents Benefits Act of 1993, to include retirement benefits to accrue to the holder of the position of Vice President.

However the recent conduct of both Dr. Nevers Mumba and Hon. Enoch Kavindele, where they have reduced themselves to desperate low levels of praise singers, for President Hakainde Hichilema, leaves much to be desired.

The information emerging that the two former Vice Presidents and others have been placed on payroll, in my view, is a welcome development, but this should NOT cause them to be used as door mats or turn them i to loud praise singers to President Hichilema.

These payments must be made as this is an entitltement because of the positions they held and their service to the nation.

We must state that former Speaker’s of the National Assembly, former Judges, former commanders in the defence and security, are on state benefits already.

Therefore, President Hichilema must normalize these payments to the former Vice Presidents, by causing an official amendment to the law, in order to pay them properly.

I also hold a firm view that the former President, in this case, Edgar Lungu, must be accorded state benefits as prescribed by the law, whatever his position on the current state of politics is.

Both Jacob Zuma (who has formed a new political party) and Thabo Mbeki, who regularly campaigns for the ANC, enjoy full state benefits.

This is not because of their current activities but because they earned the benefits because of the position they attained.

It’s like you, will your retirement benefits stop because you have joined politics?

We must remember that we got the principle and inspiration of paying state benefits for former Presidents from the USA.

Barack Obama still campaigns actively for the Democratic Party, in Opposition and in Government.

Such payments must not be hidden in a back-door administrative process as is being done to Dr. Nevers Mumba and Hon. Enoch Kavindele, such as being appointed as Ambassadors of Goodwill, a position that doesnt attract remuneration, except for costs associated with the particular assignment.

Therefore the payments may raise serious audit querries in future.

The promise of life state benefits to the President and his Vice President, are intended to be a motivation to avoid abusing or plundering state resources while they hold the position and discharge their functions.

Therefore Hon. Inonge Wina, Dr. Never Mumba, Hon. Enoch Kavindele, Lt. Gen.(retired) Malimba Masheke, deserve to enjoy state benefits, as a matter of right and entitlement, and NOT because they should desperately prostrate themselves before President Hichilema.

Similarly, salary and state benefits including security must be reinstated to former President Edgar Lungu, in his capacity as Zambia’s Sixth President.

It is destined only a rare handful of persons will hold these positions in the life of our country, and therefore such benefits are affordable.

OPPOSITION COLLAPSE IN NKEYEMA AS PF AND SP MEMBERS DEFECT TO UPND.

11/5/24

Opposition PF and SP officials have defected to the ruling UPND in what has become a daily event as UPND is the most attractive party in Western Province and Zambia.

Over 350 defectors mainly from PF and SP were warmly received by Provincial Vice Chairman for Politics Mr Austin Muneku in Munkuye Nkeyema this afternoon.

Spokesperson for the defectors former PF District Mobilisation Coordinator Patrick Kalima, cited President Hakainde Hichilema’s strides to unite and develop the country without leaving anyone behind.
He also praised the President for all the empowerment initiatives to improve citizens’ welfare especially the youth.

Meanwhile former Socialist Party Litoya Ward Mobilization youth official Katongo Mubanga, cited lack of direction in SP as the party leadership invest all their time and energy attacking and vilifying President Hichilema, without offering any alternative solutions.

The Provincial Vice Chairman for Politics is leading a delegation that’s touring all the 16 districts in Western Province, to mobilize and grow the party in readiness for 2026.

His entourage includes Presidential Campaign Team Chairman Max Kasabi, Provincial Youth Chairman Jack Mwanga, Provincial Vice Chairperson for Mobilization and Strategy Rachel Kuliwa Sinyama and Provincial Trustee Memory Mwangala Mubita.

ENOCH KAVINDELE, NEVERS MUMBA ON STATE MONTHLY PAYROLL

ENOCH KAVINDELE, NEVERS MUMBA ON STATE MONTHLY PAYROLL

By Thomas Ngala

The government has been challenged to explain the work that Enock Kavindele and Nevers Mumba do as “Special Envoys of President Hakainde Hichilema” to warrant putting them on a monthly payroll reported to be about 80% of the Vice-President’s salary.

Amid the ongoing hunger crisis and acute youth unemployment, former vice-president Kavindele surprised many people recently when he declared that President Hichilema will win the 2026 election because he is doing “a fantastic job”. Nevers Mumba, meanwhile, has also been full of praise of the leadership of President Hichilema.

But South Africa-based academic Sishuwa Sishuwa has wondered if Kavindele and Mumba have the necessary distance to assess Hichilema with objective lens since he has placed them on a monthly pay.

“In January this year, President Hichilema appointed Enoch Kavindele, Nevers Mumba, Inonge Wina, Godfrey Miyanda, Guy Scott, and Malimba Masheke as Special Envoys of the President and placed them on a monthly allowance reported to be about 80% of the Vice-President’s salary, among a host of other benefits. Their job description is vague and adhoc, but since they are appointed at the discretion of the president, special envoys do whatever Hichilema wants or assigns them to do. This can be anything, ranging from monitoring elections in other countries to couriering messages to fellow heads of state. In principle, this is an assignment-based role where the Special Envoy only gets to receive an allowance for actual work they are undertaking. In practice, Zambia’s former vice-presidents are currently receiving the allowance monthly, which effectively renders it a ‘salary’. Can the government explain why former vice-presidents are being paid monthly from the treasury, as opposed to when they have a specific assignment to do?”, Dr Sishuwa asked.

The historian advised the government to enact a law that would provide for the benefits of former vice-presidents.

“In any case, our living former vice-presidents are quite older or frail to do any intense work that requires travel and other strenuous activities. If Hichilema wishes to provide the former vice-presidents with a consistent source of income and alleviate their relative suffering, then I ask him to do things the right way to avoid perceptions that he is abusing discretion for patronage purposes such as buying praise singers or voices of support using taxpayers’ money. A better and more dignified approach would be for the government to immediately either amend the Benefits of Former Presidents Act so that it covers vice-presidents or introduce separate legislation that would provide specific benefits to former vice-presidents. Unlike former presidents, former vice-presidents do not currently enjoy any benefits from the government after leaving public office, even following the 2016 constitutional amendment that elevated the office of vice-president to a constitutional one and paved the way for the vice-president to be elected alongside the president as a running mate”, he said.

Dr Sishuwa said although he does not support payment to former officials, there is need for consistency and fairness.

“Personally, I oppose paying any worker after they have left public office because I see this as an unnecessary burden on the treasury. I would rather emphasise the importance of individuals saving from their legitimate earnings during their working careers to sustain themselves beyond public service. Despite my personal stance, I acknowledge the broader implications regarding the treatment of former public servants – yes, we are currently paying lavish benefits to former judges, military chiefs, permanent secretaries, director of public prosecutions, and a host of other retired public officers – and would therefore propose that we either abolish the practice entirely or extend similar benefits enjoyed by former presidents to former vice-presidents through the correct law-making channels. I am aware that the PF had developed, just before they lost power, a draft law to provide for benefits to former vice-presidents and all that had remained was for the Minister of Justice to take the bill to parliament. If the UPND means well, they should have no problem with completing this legislation whose passing in parliament requires a simple majority”.

He called for a structured approach to managing public affairs.

“There has been a lot of emotional job appointments in this administration. Some people were employed as nurses recently for volunteering to help patients during the cholera crisis; a gentleman who recused abducted girls was given a job; and a young lady who provided first aid to footballer Rainford Kalaba when he was involved in a road traffic accident was hired into the civil service. These are all good gestures, but they are a concern if this is how the nation should be run. The implication is that we all need to have done something to deserve a job. This is not the way to go. What is needed is to enact the necessary laws so that we can have rules governing these things, so that everyone has a fair opportunity, as opposed to leaving them to the discretion of the individual leader”.

CONFIRMED: PF FACTIONS BLOOD BATH SET FOR THIS SUNDAY IN MATERO, TAGETS TO BEAT EDGAR LUNGU

CONFIRMED: PF FACTIONS BLOOD BATH SET FOR THIS SUNDAY IN MATERO, TAGETS TO BEAT EDGAR LUNGU

By George Lemba

Two PF factions are set to brutally attack each other this Sunday at services in Matero’s Lilanda area and specifically at Lilanda Parish Church.

The EDGAR Lungu faction has since mobilised its thugs across the country for the mother of all fights emanating from the intraparty violence.

This evening a meeting chaired by Lungu vowed to fight back.

But according to insiders, the other faction which will be dressed in PF regalia and is set to beat EDGAR LUNGU will be accused of being UPND by the UKWA and Lungu’s faction.

“The initial plan is that ECL must be attacked by the same group but dressed in UPND regalia so that he can cry that UPND has beaten him or broken his legs but the other camp has actually planned to beat EDGAR and even break his leg or arm since he has only thugs who don’t know how to use brains when fighting and they have planned that going forward, they will be marking his movements and they will beat him while in PF regalia, ” said our Source.

But on the other hand, Raphael Gunyu Masaka Nakachinda has been given UPND regalia to give to some junkies hired from Chibolya to throw stones at Lungu’s convoy and then later cry that UPND has attacked him.

As for the Police, an insider says the Police should not dare join the PF infights but leave them to butcher each other and only move in when they start damaging public property.

On the other hand, foreigner Emmanuel Henry MWENJENGA Mwamba has lined up and paid owners of one highly compromised Newspaper, one highly compromised Radio station and one highly compromised TV station to run screaming headlines that Edgar Lungu has been brutally beaten by the UPND or police with the view of swaying people’s mind.

The plan is in motion. Edgar Lungu will be attacked and beaten by the other PF faction and he is aware but he will accuse the UPND and even use UPND regalia to cement his lies so that the 1.8 voters of his can sympathise with but he is also playing on the UKWA members as his people are saying that he is the only one who can lead the group and now that the other faction has taken over PF, he is also attempting to fight for the PF by creating an impression that he is the only one who incite Zambians to rise against HH’S government.

Editors advice: The Police should not stop the PF factions from breaking each other’s legs and hands but stop them from damaging public property and UPND should stay away from the PF expected brutal fight but leave them to finish each other even if they beat the other PF faction breaks Lungu’s leg or hand or even teeth.

Govt has for 3 years now been single-sourcing Agro Fuels for the procurement and supply of petroleum products

Fuel single-sourcing shocker

(Daily Nation )
…as petroleum products dealers demand that government should stop single-sourcing of petroleum products because it has made fuel more expensive by K10

By NATION REPORTER
THE government has for three years now been single-sourcing Agro Fuels for the procurement and supply of petroleum products at the exclusion of other players and now, other dealers have protested and are demanding that the single-sourcing should immediately be stopped.

The Oil Marketing Association of Zambia (OMAZ) says the energy sector has been messed up by government that has insisted on single-sourcing leading to the country buying petroleum at K10 more as a result of exclusively favouring one player in the sector as the sole supplier.

Dr Kafula Mubanga, the Oil Marketing Association of Zambia (OMAZ) president says the UPND should immediately stop the single-sourcing of petroleum products which is exclusively being done by Agro Fuels because the energy sector is on the verge of collapse as a result.

Dr Mubanga said the energy sector had extensively been mismanaged and is on the verge of total collapse unless the UPND administration invokes its political will and do away with single sourcing of petroleum products.

He said for nearly three years, the UPND had engaged only one player in the name of Agro Fuels who had been single-sourced and had been supplying of up to 80 percent of the national stock to the exclusion of other players.

“It is a reality that the energy sector has gone to sleep. For nearly three years, there is only one player on the market and this is Agro Fuels. He supplies over 60 to 80 percent of national stock,” Dr Mubanga said.

He explained that other players were on their knees as nobody was bringing in fuel stock.
Dr Mubanga said further redistribution by the road network was gone because Government was using the TAZAMA Pipeline which was also exclusively being used by Agro Fuels.
“What we need are Zambians to manage the given slots and to manage the pipeline and that would resuscitate the sector. Unfortunately, I would like to agree with Mr Stephen Kampyongo that the sector was on the verge of collapse because there was only one person driving it,” Dr Mubanga said.
He said the trickle down of activities one contractor, Agro-fuel was not trickling down.
“What Government needs to do is to invoke political will. If Government is not benefitting, why should they insist on dealing with Agro Fuels. The Auditor General’s report is very clear, Agro Fuels has over priced its products.”
“The fuels supplied by Agro Fuels are K10 more expensive and people thought we were joking until the Auditor General’s Report revealed that there was over US$51 billion missing as a result of overpricing of invoices,” he said.

Dr Mubanga said one supplier of fuel was extorting government by manipulating petroleum products prices and determining the cost of the commodity at K36 per litre.
“Government needs to decide whether to serve the Zambians or Agro Fuels. These are two options. They need to go open tender and remove Agro Fuels from the equation. They need justification for Agro Fuels to run for three years as a single supplier in such a sector,” he said.

Dr Mubanga said if Government was failing to control the price of fuel, then it meant that they could not control the price of electricity.
He said if the UPND had the political will, they could change the narrative and would have made the prices of petroleum products more competitive as opposed to allowing an individual to decide the economic fate of the country.

“Unfortunately, the sector is on the verge of collapse as Mr Kapyongo has put it,” Dr Mubanga said.

And Dr Mubanga wondered where the dead stock fuel was that was pumped out of TAZAMA Pipeline during the cleaning process.

“From our understanding, dead stock is basically put to keep afloat fuel products and assist in stocks. It is not usually tampered with even when you close down a pipeline. You restock the dead stock and it should be very available,” Dr Mubanga said.

Kapala must resign to allow competent people to takeover – OMCAZ

The Oil Marketing Companies Association of Zambia –OMCAZ – has demanded for the immediate resignation of Energy Minister Peter Kapala who they claim is incompetent and has terribly failed to deliver to the poor Zambian people.

The call comes amid mounting pressure on the government over the continued energy crisis in both fuel and electricity supply and pricing in the country.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with the Zambian Business Times – ZBT, OMCAZ President Dr. Kafula Mubanga said the Minister of Energy and his team are not doing an adequate job as there is no way the Ministry would allow its wing, the Energy Regulatory Board – ERB to escalate prices that the Government is not aware of.

The move follows mounting pressure on the government over nonstop energy crisis in both fuel and electricity in the country. Fuel prices continue to rise while electricity deficit deepens with more increments expected.

This twin energy crisis has already claimed two victims with the removal of the ERB board chairperson Raynolds Bowa and placement on a forced leave of the regulator’s Director General Yohane Mukabe after reportedly approving double upward adjustments of fuel pump prices and the about 10% increase in electricity tariffs without consultations with top government bosses.

The Minister of Energy has been heavily criticized by industry players, experts, and concerned citizens alike, who feel that he and his team are being out of touch with the realities on the ground and insisting on policies that continue to hurt both businesses and households.

“We have said several times that Kapala is incompetent and we even ran a sensitization campaign for him to resign, but who whosoever is protecting him should know that it is not in the interest of the Country for him to continue.” Dr. Mubanga remarked.

According to Dr. Mubanga, the board is appointed by the Minister and reports directly to him, so Kapala must take full responsibility for the crisis.

“He must take full responsibility, and remember that the board is appointed by the Minister and they give him reports, the ratification of ERB board is also done by the Minister so these report directly to the Minister. So basically what Mweetwa is saying is that the Minister of Energy was irresponsible and how many times is the Minister of Energy going to be caught in an irresponsible position without action from the government? we are tired of that.”

“You cannot keep blaming and chasing your board chairman, and MD how do you chase the board chairman and keep the board? Kapala and his entire team should be moved because even just by the AG report it shows that there is stealing at the Ministry of Energy so it is all evident and doc… Follow the link to read the full article https://zambianbusinesstimes.com/kapala-must-resign-to…/

MARRIED COP TELLS LOVER TO TELL HUSBAND OF HOW HE SATISFIED HER BETTER

MARRIED COP TELLS LOVER TO TELL HUSBAND OF HOW HE SATISFIED HER BETTER

A POLICE officer from the Lusaka Central Police seems to have not only mastered the art of inserting criminals in jail but also correctly placing his instrument of power into another man’s tunnel of pleasure.

Based at Criminal Investigation Division (CID), Gift Mutiti became the talk of the court room at the Matero Local Court where his wife was sued for defamation by his alleged girlfriend who happened to be married to a businessman.

27 year old Janet Kabambele of Zanimuone, sued Jacqueline Mulenga, 26 for defaming her.

Mulenga claimed that Kabambele was committing adultery with her cop husband and would even send him messages to thank him for always taking her to cloud nine after their bedroom Olympic fixtures.

The defendant also revealed in court that officer Gift bragged about his Mbape dribbling skills in bed after Kabambele’s praise and asked the lover to spread the news to her husband of how his gear lever managed to shift through the transmission in satisfying her.

The case shifted focus from defamation to spilling of marital woes before Magistrate Lewis Mumba.

“She was dating my husband in 2017 before I got married to him the following year. But after our wedding, she continued sleeping with him, she would call him at night and even ask him if I was around or not. I only discovered when my child was three months old,” said Mulenga.

The accused defamer revealed that when Kabambele became pregnant recently, she would always run to her husband for sexual satisfaction who gladly offered it to her, and to the prime of her satisfaction where her business man husband could never have calculated to reach.

“She (Kabambele) texted my husband, ‘Thank you for the sex,” Mulenga narrated. “He (Mutiti) then told her that umuuze mwamuna wako kuti ine niziba kunyenga (you should tell your husband that I know how to have sex with you).”

Mulenga added that Kabambele would even send her cop husband some money for a job well done in ‘enforcing the law’ of pleasure while also paying for the lodging whenever the officer had insufficient funds in his pocket.

“So I had to text her husband because I was tired of her being the problem in my marriage because despite us getting married, she still continued sleeping with my husband, she calls him whenever she wants sex from him and am tired,” said Mulenga.

Meanwhile, Kabambele admitted dating Mulenga’s cop husband from 2017 to 2021, three years into the couple’s marriage, but that it was only because of the fact that she never knew that he was married.

“I didn’t know he was married for three years, so we dated.”

“One day, I met him (Mutiti) with my friends at a drinking place coming from a funeral and he brought me beer. My husband saw us and he called Mulenga to alert her that I was with her husband around 02 because that was the time I reached home and they argued on phone,” Kabambele explained.

In court, Kabambele contended that she was unaware of Mulenga’s marriage and had been involved with Mulenga’s husband since 2017.

The magistrate adjourned the case and ordered both women to present their husbands in court for further testimony.

ANC Members Sing And Dance To Zimbabwean Revolutionary Songs After Inviting ZANU PF To Help Its Elections Campaign

South Africa’s ruling African National Congress (ANC) members caused a stir after singing and dancing to Zimbabwean revolutionary songs days after inviting ZANU PF to help its elections campaign.

The Watershed Polls In Mzansi
South Africa will hold its seventh democratic general elections on May 29, 2024. This marks a significant event as it will be the first time since the end of apartheid in 1994 that the ruling African National Congress (ANC) might receive less than 50% of the vote. The elections will elect a new National Assembly and provincial legislatures in each of the nine provinces.

The ANC, led by President Cyril Ramaphosa, faces a tough challenge in retaining its majority. The elections follow the 2021 municipal elections, where the ANC received less than 50% of the vote nationwide for the first time.

ANC Confirms Inviting ZANU PF To Help Elections Campaign And Observe Polls On Voting Day

As the ruling ANC faces its most critical poll, it has invited Zimbabwe’s ruling ZANU PF to help its campaign. Days earlier, ZANU-PF Secretary General, Obert Mpofu, revealed:

“We have been in touch with the South African ruling party. What is happening there is an internal issue which we are closely monitoring. I cannot rule out the fact that we can go and assist if they need assistance from us.”

The ANC confirmed today that it roped in ZANU PF to help its quest for electoral victory. ZANU will also observe the polls on 29 May.

Yesterday, ANC stalwart Tokyo Sexwale went on a door-to-door campaign in Soweto. As they campaigned, he taught members a Zimbabwean revolutionary long:

“Tonosangana Zimbabwe. Kure kure kwatinobva, kure kure kwatinobva [We’ll meet in Zimbabwe. We have come a long way].

Mzansi Wary As ANC Gets Help From ZANU PF During Its Elections Campaign

People expressed reservations about ANC working with ZANU PF in preparing for the elections.

Khonzi:

“Zanu PF is well-known for stealing votes 🗳 in Zimbabwe. There have NEVER been free and fair elections in that country. Is ANC that desperate 🤔”

James:

“How the mighty #ANC has fallen 🥺”

Dave:

“Imagine taking notes from ZANU PF🥴”

Johann:

“If that’s the case, the ANC will get 108% of the votes.”

Mao:

“Zanu-PF assisting the ANC during election campaigns & at the same be part of the observer missions during the elections itself. This makes Zanu-PF both the player & the referee at the same.”

INDIAN MOM ALLEGEDLY “FEEDS” HER 6 YEAR OLD DISABLED SON TO CROCODILES

INDIAN MOM ALLEGEDLY “FEEDS” HER 6 YEAR OLD DISABLED SON TO CROCODILES

A child in India reportedly died at the hands of his mother after she and his father allegedly argued about the boy. Savitri Kumar and her husband, Ravi Kumar, were parents to 6-year-old Vinod, who reportedly had hearing and speech impairments. The parents apparently argued about their son’s disabilities often, and after a quarrel on May 4, 2024, Saviriti Kumar allegedly did the unthinkable.

The mother is accused of throwing Vinod into a canal infested with crocodiles in the Uttara Kannada district of Karnataka, according to News 18. Tragically, the boy died, and rescuers pulled his mangled body from the jaws of a crocodile on May 5.

The 32 year old Indian mother is facing accusations after allegedly throwing her six-year-old son, who was born deaf and mute, into a crocodile-inhabited river, resulting in his death. The woman is blaming her husband for the incident, saying he incited her to commit the fatal act.

Savitri and her husband, 27-year-old Ravi Kumar, were from Uttara Kannada in the western Indian state of Karnataka. They reportedly engaged in an intense argument about their son Vinod, during which Ravi urged Savitri to “throw the child away.”

In a conversation with police, Savitri claimed that Ravi frequently criticized her choice to give birth to Vinod. On a recent Saturday evening, the couple argued about their firstborn child again. Distressed, Savitri allegedly tossed the boy into a waste canal that leads to the crocodile-ridden Kali River.

Speaking to local media, Savitri blamed her husband, stating that he constantly wished for their son’s death due to his condition. The frequent negative comments, Savitri said, inflicted emotional torment on both her and her son.

Upon witnessing the incident, neighbors called the police, who promptly initiated a search for the boy. The search was hampered by darkness, however, and rescuers had to resume the mission on Sunday morning. They found the child’s corpse bearing multiple bite marks and missing a hand, suggestive of an attack by one or more crocodiles.

Authorities have ordered a post-mortem to ascertain the cause of death. The couple has another son, a two-year-old, and they reportedly quarreled frequently over their eldest child’s disabilities.

A police investigation is underway, with a local officer revealing both the mother and father have been taken into custody in connection with what is now a murder case.

Armenians want prime minister to step down over border village conflict with Azerbaijan

Many people in Yerevan, the capital of Armenia, protested on Thursday against their Prime Minister, Nikol Pashinyan, to quit because they are upset about his government’s choice to give control of some border villages to Azerbaijan, which has been a rival to Armenia for a long time.

Armenia and Azerbaijan have fought two wars after the Soviet Union broke up, and in April, Armenia said it would give back the villages to Azerbaijan. That decision happened after Azerbaijan quickly fought a war in Nagorno-Karabakh, which is an area mostly populated by Armenians and is located in Azerbaijan. This made a lot of people go to Armenia and start protests to kick out the prime minister.

A group of people, led by a important religious leader in Armenia, walked about 100 miles from villages near the border with Azerbaijan to Yerevan. They gathered in Republic Square on Thursday.

Many videos on social media showed a lot of people holding Armenian flags and waving them. An older Armenian religious leader prayed and told the people protesting that he wanted the leader, Pashinyan, to step down within an hour. He said Pashinyan was responsible for losing Armenian land.

Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan said protesters should peacefully disobey if Pashinyan doesn’t listen to their demands.

Pashinyan went to Moscow on Wednesday and had a discussion with Russian President Vladimir Putin because their relationship is getting worse. The meeting happened one day after Putin’s fifth term began in a fancy ceremony at the Kremlin. The Armenian leader didn’t go to the ceremony.

Putin’s representative, Dmitry Peskov, said on Thursday that he and the leaders of Armenia agreed to have Russian forces leave some areas in Armenia. This was reported by Russian state news agency Tass.

In short, Putin mentioned at the beginning of the talks that trade between the two countries is increasing, but he recognized some problems with security in the area.

Pashinyan, who went to Moscow in December, said that some problems have built up since then.

Armenia and Russia have been friends for a long time, but their relationship has been getting worse because of Azerbaijan’s recent war to take back control of the Karabakh region from ethnic Armenian separatists.

Armenian leaders said that Russian peacekeepers sent to Nagorno-Karabakh did not do enough to prevent Azerbaijan’s attack. Moscow has a military base in Armenia. They say their troops didn’t have permission to get involved and are denying the accusations.

The Kremlin is upset because Pashinyan is trying to become closer to the West and move away from alliances with Moscow.

While Pashinyan was in Moscow, Armenia’s foreign ministry said that the country will stop giving money to the Collective Security Treaty Organization, which is a security pact dominated by Russia. Armenia has stopped being a part of the group because Pashinyan wants to make stronger connections with the European Union and NATO.

Russia was upset when Armenia decided to join the International Criminal Court. This is because the Court is looking into whether or not Putin committed war crimes in Ukraine.

Moscow is worried about the Ukraine situation. They are also concerned about Yerevan moving towards the west. But they are trying to not make a big deal out of it.

Kremlin spokesman Peskov admitted on Tuesday that there are some issues in our relationship with another country, but he also said that there is a desire to keep talking and working together.

Canadian-Israeli man shot dead in Egypt

An Israeli man with Canadian citizenship was killed in a shooting in Alexandria, Egypt. Investigators believe it was a criminal act. But a new militant group says they did it because of the fighting in Gaza.

An Egyptian security source told Reuters that a man was killed because someone wanted to steal from him. The source did not connect the shooting to the victim’s ethnicity.

The Canadian government said that the man who was shot was a resident of Egypt. The ministry and the source did not give any more information.

A new group called “Vanguards of Liberation” said they did the attack in response to Israel’s military actions in Gaza and its plan to take over the Rafah crossing on Egypt’s border with Gaza. It said that the victim, Ziv Kipper, was accused of working for Israeli intelligence.

The claim said that the group responsible for the killing was named after a policeman named Mohamed Salah Ibrahim, who shot three Israeli soldiers before being killed near Egypt’s border with Israel in June 2023, according to a statement from SITE Intelligence group.

The group shared a picture claiming to be of Kipper being shot in his car.

Egyptian security sources said they do not know about the group or if it was involved in the incident.

The Canadian embassy in Cairo did not answer requests for comments right away.

A person from the Israeli Foreign Ministry said the person who died was both Canadian and Israeli. The Israeli embassy in Cairo is talking to Egyptian officials who are looking into what happened.

The shooting happened on Tuesday when Israeli forces took control of the main border crossing between Gaza and Egypt in Rafah. Over 1 million displaced Palestinians have sought shelter in Rafah during Israel’s seven-month offensive.

Last October, during the war in Gaza, a group of Hamas militants attacked southern Israel. Shortly after, two Israeli tourists and their Egyptian guide were shot and killed in Alexandria. This was the first attack on Israelis in Egypt in a long time.

A policeman who admitted he couldn’t control himself was taken to jail for what happened.

Girls’ school in northwest Pakistan bombed by militants

Terrorists bombed a girls’ school in a place where the Pakistani Taliban used to have control. The explosion damaged the school a lot, according to the police on Thursday. No one got hurt in the attack that happened during the night.

No one said who did the attack on the girls school in Shawa yet. The school is the only one for girls in the town. The town is in an area near Afghanistan called North Waziristan. The police chief Amjad Wazir shared this information.

UNICEF criticized the bombing as a terrible and cowardly act that could put the future of many young and talented girls at risk.

The police chief said the attackers hurt the school guard and then made bombs explode at the Aafia Islamic Girls Model School, where 150 students go.

People might think that Islamic militants, especially the Pakistani Taliban, are responsible for this. In the past, they have attacked girls’ schools in the province and have said that women should not be educated.

Abdullah Fadil, who works for UNICEF in Pakistan, said it is really bad that a girls’ school in a faraway area got destroyed. He also mentioned that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif wants to help 26 million children who are not going to school.

In Pakistan, there were many attacks on girls’ schools until 2019, especially in the Swat Valley and other areas in the northwest that were controlled by the Pakistani Taliban for a long time. In 2012, the bad guys attacked Malala Yousafzai, a young student who was speaking up for girls’ education. Later, she won the Nobel Peace Prize.

The Pakistani Taliban, also called TTP, were forced to leave Swat and other areas in the past few years. The TTP is a different group, but they are friends with the Afghan Taliban, who took over Afghanistan in 2021.

The Pakistani Taliban are feeling more confident because of the Taliban’s recent control in Afghanistan.

In another news, US General Erik Kurilla visited Pakistan to talk with the country’s army chief Gen about something else. Asim Munir on Thursday. Asim Munir was present on Thursday.

The Pakistani military and the US Army talked about working together to make the region safe and peaceful. The US Army praised Pakistan’s efforts to bring peace and stability to the region and cooperation between Pakistani and US forces.

According to a statement from CENTCOM, Kurilla also went to a few places in the northwest that are next to Afghanistan. He met with Pakistani regional commanders to talk about stopping terrorism along the border.

“The Pakistan Armed Forces are very skilled and professional,” Kurilla said.

Judge in Virginia to determine whether state law regards embryos as property

A legal case is taking place in Virginia to determine if frozen embryos can be considered as property and assigned a monetary worth.

Judge Dontae Bugg from the Fairfax County Circuit Court listened to arguments on Thursday from a divorced couple. They are fighting about whether the ex-wife can use two embryos they made when they were married.

Honeyhline Heidemann says the embryos are her last hope to have a baby that is biologically hers after cancer treatment made her unable to have children. Jason Heidemann does not want to have a child biologically.

Last year, a judge named Richard Gardiner made a decision that got a lot of attention. He said that embryos could be seen as property, like things you can buy or sell. He based his decision partly on a law from the 1800s about how to treat slaves.

Gardiner is not working on the case anymore, but it’s not because he mentioned slavery as an example.

Reproductive rights activists are worried about a ruling from the Alabama Supreme Court that says embryos could be treated as children under the law.

There are not many established court decisions in Virginia about how embryos should be treated.

Honeyhline Heidemann’s lawsuit was filed under a law that decides how property is divided between people who are involved.

Jason Heidemann’s lawyer, Carrie Patterson, said there’s no previous example for this because the law isn’t made for dealing with embryos. She said its main job is to control how real estate is divided.

The law about embryos across the country says they are not just something you own. They have special qualities that courts need to consider when deciding who gets them.

When a judge looks at these cases, they have to think about a person’s right to choose to have children. In this situation, Patterson said her client really doesn’t want to have kids without wanting to.

Honeyhline’s Heidemann’s lawyer, Jason Zellman, said the rule about dividing property applies if the embryos are considered as things that can be bought or sold.

The papers that both Heidemanns signed with the IVF provider say that the embryos are like belongings. This means their worth can be measured based on how much it cost to make them.

Because there are two babies, he said, the judge can easily split the property by giving one baby to each person.

Bugg said he will make a decision later. He has concerns about putting a money value on the embryos.

Zellman agreed that the case has some new problems, but he also told the judge that it doesn’t need to be a big deal or set any new rules. He said that the special details of the Heidemanns’ situation, such as the agreement in their divorce papers that the embryos stay frozen until a judge decides, will make their case different from others in the future.

The judge agreed with the idea and said, “I think my decision only affects the Heidemanns. “

Third week of Trump hush money trial’s testimony coming to an end

The third week of witnesses talking in Donald Trump’s trial about paying money to keep things secret is almost over. The people deciding the case heard from Stormy Daniels, a person who acts in adult films, and soon they will hear from Michael Cohen, who used to work as a lawyer for Trump and is an important witness for the prosecutors.

Daniels said she had a physical relationship with Trump, and this is important for the lawyers trying to prove that Trump and his friends kept secret information before the 2016 election to help him win.

Trump said the sexual encounter never happened and he felt very angry when he left the court on Thursday. He said to the reporters that he didn’t do anything wrong. His lawyers asked for the trial to be stopped because Daniels talked about things that were too detailed, but the judge refused.

For more than 7.5 hours, Daniels talked a lot about what she says happened after she met the person at a big golf event at Lake Tahoe. The event was sponsored by the company where she worked in adult films. Daniels said she was shocked, frightened, and uneasy, even though she said yes to having sex with Trump.

During a difficult time answering questions, Trump’s lawyers tried to prove that Daniels is lying and only wants money and attention by accusing the former president. Donald Trump’s lawyer, Susan Necheles, asked Daniels why she accepted money to keep quiet instead of telling everyone. The two women disagreed about the changes in Daniels’ story over time.

Necheles asked Daniels if he had just pretended everything.

“No,” said Daniels.

The lawyers are saying that the money was given to protect his reputation and family, not to hide stories about his personal life and help his campaign.

After Daniels spoke in court on Thursday, Trump’s lawyers asked the judge to change the rule that stops him from talking about the case’s witnesses, so that he could respond to what she said in public. The judge also said no to that request.

This happened before Trump became president and now jurors have to deal with Cohen, who paid $130,000 to Daniels. It’s not known when the prosecutors will bring their main witness to testify. He admitted to federal charges and went to jail for being involved in the hush money plan.

Trump is accused of making false records for his company 34 times. The charges are related to paperwork like bills and payments that were marked as legal expenses in the company’s records. Lawyers say the money Cohen got was mostly to pay him back for giving Daniels money to stay quiet.

On Friday morning, Madeleine Westerhout, a person who worked for Trump, will be answering questions in court. She was working at the Republican National Committee when a video of Trump was leaked just before the 2016 election. The tape is important because it caused a lot of controversy and made the payment to Daniels happen sooner, according to the prosecutors.

Westerhout, who later worked as Trump’s personal secretary, said on Thursday that RNC leaders were so upset by the tape that they talked about finding a new candidate to replace Trump if necessary.

People who have seen what happened have been giving two different types of testimony. Some of them have been giving very boring and hard to understand information about finances, while others have been talking about scandalous and embarrassing stories about Trump and the world of tabloids, and how they were kept secret. In the end, this trial is about whether money was given for business deals to illegally influence the 2016 election, despite all the drama.

This court case could be the only one out of four against the likely Republican candidate for president to go to trial before voters decide in November whether to re-elect him. Trump says he didn’t do anything wrong and thinks the justice system is unfair because it is trying to stop him from being president again.

At the same time, Trump may go to jail if he keeps breaking the gag order. His lawyers are arguing with the judge’s decision and want a quick ruling from a higher court. If the court doesn’t remove the rule to keep quiet, Trump’s lawyers want to ask the state’s highest court for permission to appeal.

FIFPRO, World Leagues Association drags FIFA to court over congested calendar

Fifa faces potential legal action from world players’ union Fifpro and the World Leagues Association, including the Premier League, over plans to hold a 32-team Club World Cup at the end of the next season.

They argue that the global football calendar is already overstretched, leading to difficulties for national leagues and risking player welfare.

The PFA has sought legal advice on the issue, expressing concerns over the impact of an increasingly congested schedule on its members. With European club competitions expanding next season, the situation is becoming more strained.

Manchester City and Chelsea are set to participate in the expanded Club World Cup in the United States next year.

In a letter to Fifa’s leadership, Fifpro and the World Leagues Association insist that if Fifa extends its own competitions, it must make corresponding adjustments elsewhere.

It adds that “imposing the burden of adaptation on national leagues and players is inherently abusive” and is “jeopardising national leagues and affecting the health and wellbeing of players.”

Fifa asserts that its scheduling program considers player welfare, despite concerns raised by Fifpro and the World Leagues Association.

It contends that in countries with an 18-team league and one cup competition, such as Germany, the Club World Cup and Intercontinental Cup would represent only 2.3% of total club-level matches in a season.

Additionally, Fifa points out that the European Clubs’ Association supported the Club World Cup plans in a statement issued in December.

However, Fifpro and the World Leagues Association maintain that they have already given Fifa ample opportunities to address their concerns.

However, in their letter, they state clearly that if Fifa “refuses to formally commit to resolving the issues” at its council meeting in Bangkok on 17 May, members will be advised “on the options available to them”.

“These options included legal action against Fifa,” they said.

During the Fifa council meeting in Thailand, all 211 member associations will convene to vote on the host nation or nations for the 2027 Women’s World Cup. Meanwhile, amidst the threat of legal action against Fifa, Premier League clubs are announcing lucrative post and pre-season tours.

Recently, West Ham, Wolves, and Crystal Palace revealed a joint pre-season tour of the United States, while Newcastle and Tottenham are scheduled to play in Melbourne, Australia shortly after the conclusion of the Premier League season.

Additionally, Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal, and Bournemouth are all planning tours to the United States next summer.

I’m better than you – Shaquille O’Neal slams NFL hall of famer and show host Shannon Sharpe

NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal has taken shots at NFL Hall of Famer and show host, Shannon Sharpe, for claiming he’s “jealous” of Nikola Jokic.

The drama began after the “Inside the NBA” crew presented the league’s Most Valuable Player award to Jokic during Wednesday’s show. During their interview, Shaq told the Nuggets superstar he’s the best player in the league but felt Shai Gilgeous-Alexander deserved the award this season instead.

Reacting to Shaq’s comment on his “Nightcap” podcast with Chad Johnson and Gilbert Arenas, Sharpe suggested that the NBA legend is envious of Jokic’s accolades.

He said;

“Shaq should have five MVPs. He sees a guy like Nikola Jokic who’s not as dominant as him and gets three in four years. When you are historically great, they talk about you as a great basketball player, the GOAT, and Shaq is never brought up.

“I think a part of him is envious of that, it’s hard for me to put someone in the GOAT conversation with one MVP. If Shaq would have had my work ethic, he would have had 40,000 points.”

Shaq took Sharpe’s words personally, firing back on Instagram and accusing him of click-baiting, as he was only sticking up for SGA. Things got even more personal as Shaq said Shannon is actually jealous of him.

He said;

“Don’t forget I know what you did to get [where] you at. Me jealous, sounds like you are jealous. I [know] you tryna stay relevant by gossiping on your podcast … 4 rings three finals MVP top 50 and top 75. Google me. And, to [be] quite frank all this new success you got, you still under me.”

Shaq further stated that he’s got more money and is just simply better all around.

Sharpe responded by saying “He can take all the shots. Yeah you got more money, yeah you’re more famous than me, yeah you’re more well-known, you’re gonna have more money than I ever have but nobody will ever say that I was lazy or I cheated myself.”

Their beef has taken a different turn as Shaquille O’Neal to the mic, dropping a diss track amid. Listen below……………………….

Zambia’s GDP should be about $50billion- Amb. Emmanuel Mwamba

Zambia’s GDP should be about $50billion

Amb. Emmanuel Mwamba wrote;

In her submission to a Podcast by the Norwegian-African Business Association (NABA), State House Policy Advisor, Chipo Mwanawasa, stated that Zambia’s GDP had grown from $18billion in 2020 to $29billion in 2024.

She also stated that the total public debt in August 2021,was $26billion.

She failed to mention that this debt now stands at $32billion.

She attempted to attribute the GDP growth to President Hakainde Hichilema’s Government.

Recently, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has projected that South Africa will overtake Nigeria and Egypt as Africa’s largest economy in 2024.

Similarly it predicted that Zambia’s GDP will rise from $26billion to $29billion.

The United Nations Statistics Division (UNSD) recommends that member states rebase their National Accounts especially GDP, every five years as a way of accounting for prevailing size and structural changes in the economy.

Zambia last did this exercise in 2010.

If the GDP was estimated to be at US $ 26 billion in 2010 since it was last rebased, surely this figure should by now have doubled given the many empirically verifiable economic program and changes that have taken place in the economy.

If we are to follow the UN recommendations, Zambia should have undertaken another GDP benchmarking and rebasing in 2015 or 2016.

Zambia’s GDP should be around $50billion.

The GDP rebasing exercise should enable is critical in the production of a balanced GDP estimate using all the 3 approaches namely; ●Production, ●Income and ●Expenditure ●approaches with reliable value-added estimates by industry, income and expenditure categories.

Government should therefore Commission a genuine rebasing of its GDP.

All in all, rebasing of the GDP will enable government evaluate the performance and contribution of every industry to the national economy.

A good measure of GDP will also enable government to manage revenue collection more effectively by setting realistic revenue targets.

In addition, the government will be in a position to manage debt contraction efficiently without violating the vital condition that compels economic agents to live within their means.

ASSET RECOVERY IS TOTAL ABUSE OF THE LAW – MUNDUBILE

ASSET RECOVERY IS TOTAL ABUSE OF THE LAW – MUNDUBILE

Lusaka – Friday, 10 May 2024

MPOROKOSO PF member of parliament Brian Mundubile says citizens should interrogate the manner in which the “so-called” asset recovery process is being conducted, arguing that it is a total abuse of the law.

And Mundubile says only friends of the UPND can claim that the democratic space has not shrunk.

Commenting on British High Commissioner to Zambia Nicholas Woolley’s statement that Zambia’s progress in terms of asset recovery was impressive, and that its civic space had not shrunk, Mundubile emphasised the need to interrogate the asset recovery process.

“First of all, we must interrogate the manner in which the so-called asset recovery is being conducted. For us, it is the total abuse of the law. The law that talks about possession of properties suspected to be proceeds of crime, government has used that, it has weaponised the law enforcement agency just to recover assets from innocent people. Children of politicians, these are politicians who have worked for over 20 years. They have had careers in the past and because they have decided to gift their children certain assets, the UPND government is going after those and collecting [their properties] all in the name of asset recovery. We have to look at justice as fairness. So, the fight against corruption, the recovery of assets should be interrogated. All those who are commenting on the recovery of assets must be sincere,” he said.

“Because we all know that the there is no fight against corruption. What we have is political persecution. The people that are targeted are known. What we expected our cooperating partners to focus on is the corruption that is going on at Mopani today. We expect them to turn their lens to begin to see corruption. What’s happening at KCM, what’s happening in the entire mining sector”.

And Mundubile said only friends of the UPND could claim that the democratic space had not shrunk.

“We know that the good people who will think the democratic space is not shrinking are those who come maybe from countries that are directly or indirectly benefiting from the UPND government. Whether it is in the mining sector or many other sectors. To those people, those citizens of other countries, President Hakainde Hichilema has delivered. And he has delivered his promises, and they will do everything possible to defend him. An average Zambian on the streets who was told that mealie meal will be K50 [but it] is now at K450 cannot say in any way that President Hakainde has delivered. An average Zambian who is now buying fuel at the price of K35 per liter from K17 per liter cannot in anyway say President Hakainde Hichilema has delivered,” said Mundubile.

“An average Zambian who is being load shed for over 12 hours [a day] cannot say President Hakainde Hichilema has delivered. So, for those that speak to democratic space being increased are those that are able to speak freely because they are friends of the UPND. An ordinary person with an alternative view against the UPND is no longer allowed to speak. So, it will be shocking for anybody to say the democratic space has not shrunk. It will be very shocking for us Zambians. The obvious fact is that there is no political party which has been allowed to hold a political rally beginning 2021 and now. What remains the fact is that we have the highest number of arrests for people who are just aimed to speak out on the government performance and various issues”.

IMF downgrades Zambia’s economic growth forecast to 2.3 percent

IMF downgrades Zambia’s economic growth forecast to 2.3 percent

May 10, 2024

Growth in 2024 is now projected at 2.3 percent.

Near-term reform priorities should focus on permanent revenue measures and better cash and liability management.

Strengthening tax administration, removing tax exemptions, and actively combating tax evasion can also boost revenues.

International Monetary Fund (IMF) has downgraded Zambia’s economic growth projection for 2024 to 2.3 percent against the 4.7 percent forecast, amid drought which has adversely affected agriculture and energy sectors.

In a statement, IMF Mission team lead to Zambia Vera Martin, said other factors include the continued inflation pressures driven by external supply factors and the depreciation of the exchange rate.

Ms. Martin stated that during the IMF team’s visit to Lusaka, the Zambian authorities and IMF staff advanced the technical work as part of their discussions for the Third Review under the Extended Credit Facility (ECF) as discussions focused on analyzing recent economic developments and assessing the economic impact of the drought.

“The team had productive discussions with the authorities. Discussions will continue virtually in the coming weeks, including to better assess the economic impact of the drought and agree on policies to support the completion of the ECF review.

“Reform efforts will continue to focus on sustaining macroeconomic stability and restoring fiscal and debt sustainability, while addressing the humanitarian relief required by the drought.”

She observed that Zambia has made commendable progress in implementing crucial reforms under the Fund-supported program, including significant fiscal efforts in 2023 despite lower mining revenues, adding that authorities have also upscaled social spending to support the most vulnerable and continue to provide free primary education.

“There was agreement between the IMF staff and the Zambian authorities on the need to durably sustain macroeconomic stability and restore fiscal and debt sustainability in line with program parameters. Against continued uncertainty, agile policymaking will be paramount to respond to the impact of the drought while maintaining external buffers.”

“Growth in 2024 is now projected at 2.3 percent, while inflation pressures persist driven by external supply factors and the depreciation of the exchange rate,” Ms. Martin stated.

12 MOST POISONOUS SNAKES THAT WILL BITE & DUMP HH IN 2026 AFTER HIS SHAMEFUL DEFEAT: PART THREE

12 MOST POISONOUS SNAKES THAT WILL BITE & DUMP HH IN 2026 AFTER HIS SHAMEFUL DEFEAT: PART THREE – Chris Zumani

By Dr. Chris Zumani Zimba

……..Mr Nicholas Woolley, Her Majesty, the British Queen sent him as a respected High Commissioner to Zambia in 2019 but he has proven to be a risky white python ‘hule’ ever laying toxic eggs of divide and rule at State House by kissing HH’s authoritarian rule as a beacon of democracy…..

The month is July and the year is 2019 when Mr Nicholas Woolley was appointed British High Commissioner to Zambia to succeed Mr Fergus Cochrane-Dyet. Since then, he has been with us and among us. Today, we focus to review Woolley’s remarks on his last media engagement on ZNBC TV specifically on “democracy in Zambia under President HH”.

Speaking on ZNBC’s Sunday Interview on 5th May, 2024, Mr. Nicholas Woolley said “Zambia is a beacon of democracy and the civic space has not shrunk”. The British High Commissioner said “Zambia under UPND is rated highly on democracy”. Mr. Woolley’s utterances have sent a whirlwind of political anger, shocks and condemnations among many stakeholders including some of us. Let us factually demonstrate and expose his false claims!

1. Zambia’s Human Rights Commission (HRC) Chairperson, Dr Pamela Sambo has consistently revealed that “cases of police extra-judicial killings, alleged torture, cruel, inhuman treatment or degrading punishment of suspects, as well as other violations of human rights are now alarmingly high in Zambia under the UPND government”. So, who should stakeholders take serious between Woolley and Dr. Sambo? Of course, Sambo is not HH’s praise singer! Even Laura Miti, HH’s praise singer agrees with Dr. Sambo and not with Mr Nicholas Woolley.

2. The British High Commissioner said “under President HH’s leadership, Zambia’s democracy is flourishing as the asset recovery program is progressing is very impressive”. His views are opposite of what the US human rights Watch, Human Rights Commission, LAZ, Catholic Council of Bishops, UKA, civil society organizations, credible Zambian scholars and media outlets have observed about democracy in Zambia today. The Swedish Ambassador told the media this year that corruption in Zambia is too high now that investors from her country are refusing to visit. How can kleptocracy be ‘a beacon of democracy’?

3. That is why, Citizen First President, Harry Kalaba was correct when he pointed that Woolley is mocking and insulting the Zambian people by praising HH as the model of democracy in Africa in the face of increasing arbitrary arrests, extra judicial killings, detention without trial and other political injustices.

4. Mr. Woolley is fully aware that US based Freedom House’s 2024 report accounts that “in 2023, Zambia police regularly withheld permits for opposition rallies, and opposition protesters faced arbitrary arrest both during and after demonstrations—including those that had been permitted by police…Journalists continued to face harassment and intimidation by police”. So, how can Zambia be a beacon of democracy with such a questionable political background of heavy authoritarianism?

5. According to the April, 2024 report from a visiting European Union Chief Mission Observer, Maria Arena and her expert team conducted from October, 15 to October, 28, 2023 and from January, 22 to February, 4, 2024, ECZ is behind in “ensuring a level playing field for all contestants in line with Zambia’s international and regional commitments for 2026”. The EU is saddened by the happenings at ECZ including the appointments of known UPND cadres as commissioners and thereby increasing their worries and fears for free and fair elections in 2026.

6. Unfortunately, although Mr. Woolley is pampering Zambia’s King Nebuchadnezzar that he is a shining democrat, the British High Commissioner is fully aware that since August 2021, HH has never allowed public rallies of opposition leaders, rivals have faced police threats, harassments, arrests and detention due to their peaceful political activities. These facts are right on the nose of Woolley!

7. On 18th April, 2024, the EU Ambassador to Zambia, Karolina Stasiak, told acting Foreign Affairs Minister, Mulambo Haimbe that “Zambia’s reforms on the electoral process, rule of law, civil liberties and media freedom, have reportedly slowed down under President Hakainde Hichilema administration”. The US-based Carter Center, which monitored the 2021 polls, has criticized ECZ for managing the electoral process “without proper consultation with stakeholders” for failing to independently select commissioners. This Woolley knows all these facts!

8. According to the “Zambia 2023” report by Amnesty International, ‘the UPND government committed to reforming the Public Order Act. But the rights to freedom of expression, peaceful assembly and association continued to be violated by the same government’. Amnesty International is a UK based global movement committed to creating a future where human rights are enjoyed by everyone. So, why is Woolley fooling HH that Zambia is a beacon of democracy in Africa and thereby contradicting this reputable global organization from his own country?

9. The “2022 Country Reports on Human Rights Practices: Zambia” from the U.S. State Department indicated that “Significant human rights issues included credible reports of: unlawful or arbitrary killings, including extrajudicial killings; torture and cruel, inhuman, or degrading treatment or punishment by the government; harsh and life-threatening prison conditions; serious restrictions on freedom of expression and media, including violence and threats of violence against journalists, censorship, or enforcement of or threat to enforce criminal libel laws to limit expression; substantial interference with the rights of freedom of assembly and association; serious government corruption; etc”. These are factual reports on the table of Mr. Woolley!

10. In July 2023, Mr. Woolley once again angered many Zambians when he disputed that democracy was not threatened and shrinking under President HH. Through Diggers Newspaper, PF members of the central committee Dr Canisius Banda and Ambassador Emmanuel Mwamba fumed at the British High Commissioner by calling him President HH’s praise singer and guided him to ‘shut up’ as a diplomat. Therefore, the political warning on Woolley from Hon. Harry Kalaba and many stakeholders today is not the first or the last. He seen to have been running on this politically biased agenda for some time now.

11. Once again, the last ZNBC Sunday Interview exposed Mr. Woolley further as a partisan praise singer for Community House and HH as opposed to being an objective, neutral and professional diplomat of a respected UN Security Council member, the UK. It is rumored and gossiped that this Woolley has plans to permanently settle in Zambia and HH has promised to secure him land. Overtly, this could explain Woolley’s consistent statements that are politically partisan, divisive, dangerous and contradictory to what most stakeholders see and say about democracy in Zambia today.

12. HH must be warned that Mr Nicholas Woolley has politically charged himself. He came as a respected High Commissioner to Zambia in 2019 for Her Majesty, the British Queen. But since 2021 to date, this Woolley has proven to be a risky white python, a political HULE among us who is ever laying toxic eggs of divide and rule at State House by kissing HH’s authoritarian rule at State House. Trust me, most of us are angry with this Woolley-HULE and call upon his people to speedily call and take him back to UK!

And once Zambians succeed to remove HH from power by the lightening thunder of the ballot, this Whooley will officially send congratulation messages to the new president and will start avoiding phone calls from HH. In 2026, this British High Commissioner will throw a VIP banquet dinner at his residence to toast victory of the new president and team while openly red carding HH to his political grave. Trust me, once Bally falls politically in two years time, this Whooley will dump him and will start dancing with the 2026 new president.

SHIKAPWASHA GAVE WIFE, JANE LUSENGO, NOTICE OF DIVORCE

SHIKAPWASHA GAVE WIFE, JANE LUSENGO, NOTICE OF DIVORCE

Daughter lays bare her mother’s dark secrets leading to Shikapwasha’s death

Relatives of the late Ronald Shikapwasha were left gloomy yesterday following revelations by his daughter in Court that her mother Jane Lusengo killed the former politician and soldier after the couple differed over her own infidelity.

Vanessa narrated that she learnt that her father had signed a Bill of Divorcement freeing her mother owing to extra-marital affairs.

A Bill if divorcement is a certificate of divorce written by a man which he gives to his wife to dissolve their marriage upon discovering that she is adulterous.

This is in a case were 73-year old Lusengo is charged with murder.

In her testimony, Shikapwasha’s daughter told judge Conceptor Chinyanwa Zulu that on January 14, 2024 which was a Sunday, her father was in high spirits and gave a sermon at his church.

She said when the family returned home they had a group conversation outside whilst the late Shikapwasha plucked mangoes from a tree behind the house and carried the best ripened ones for his beloved wife Jane in his pockets.

“He came back with some mangoes in his pockets and gave some to mum jokingly saying that these are the fruits Adam gave to Eve,” Vanessa narrated.

She narrated that her father went to his bedroom and she decided to prepare a meal for the family in the kitchen.

“Mum joined us in the kitchen with Milika who was feeding her baby she started a conversation saying; “your dad “ I said what is it? Milika left the Kitchen. I asked her a question if dad was arguing with her that is concerning her issues of infidelity, poisoning and their fights,”Vanessa said.

“I told her if she feels that the situation puts her life in danger she could go and live abroad for atleast two months just for a breather but she refused she said it wouldn’t help resolve their issues.”

Vanessa said Lusengo had indicated the solution was for the late general Shikapwasha to get a job in government as felt he was temperamental because he was cash strapped.

She said her mother had pondered on engaging president Hakainde Hichilema to consider the late Shikapwasha for a job in his government.

Vanessa said her mother joined her husband in the bedroom after she refused to take him his meal to which she sent her daughter to give him the food.

She said whilst chatting in the kitchen with her daughter, she heard a loud sound like that of a tyre burst but paid little attention to it until she heard Lusengo call out her name.

“I told Bethel to keep quiet so that I could pay attention. She told me she also heard something and laughed and told me obviously it’s nothing. It was around 16:00 hours, I joked back and told her there were guns in this house you never know it might be one,” she said.

“Because I didn’t hear any screaming or shouting I brushed it off and we continued chatting, I heard the alarm lock on one of the two doors leading to the master bedroom on five several occasions before I heard mum shouting in the passage in which I heard my name at a certain point then I stood up and ran in the direction of the passage through the dining.”

Vanessa said she met her mother who held a double barrel shotgun in her left hand, in the passage and asked her what transpired.

“I asked her what was going on and what had happened she responded and said your dad has been shot. I asked how and what do you mean ? Before that I held on the gun right above where her hand was and I asked her to give me the gun but she couldn’t let go,”Vanessa said.

“When she mentioned that dad had been shot I let go of the gun and I asked her how and what happened? She responded and said ‘“maybe I shot him I don’t know” and she said she needed to hide the gun somewhere. She started walking quickly towards the dining through the kitchen to the wash room while Bethel and I were running after her. When we reached the washroom she placed the gun on the wall next to the door.”

She said after Lusengo hid the gun she proposed that they get her look for the car keys which she had put in the handbag so that they could rush Lt. general Shikapwasha to the hospital.

Vanessa said her mother was confused after the shooting incident and Milika and her self rushed to their parents room to give them a hand.

“Dad was lying on his back groaning in pain next to the door that led to the closet. Dad was wearing a white T-shirt and on the left side of his abdomen I saw a hole in his t-shirt through which smoke was coming out. I requested mum to give me a towel to cover his would and I lifted his T-shirt that’s when I saw he had a wound in his abdomen on the left side,” she said.

Vanessa said her father’s body had bulged abnormally on the left while some smoke was coming out of the wound and she quickly wrapped a towel over the wound.

She disclosed that the retired ZAF commander begged to be rushed to the hospital whilst admonishing his wife for wounding him over her lewdness.

“He asked us to take him to the hospital whilst saying in lenje ‘Wabona Jane wanchaya abuhule bwako’ meaning you see Jane you have killed me because of your infidelity,”Vanessa said.

“He kept on saying ‘wabona Jane wanchaisha nobuhule bwako’ You see Jane am dying because of your infidelity to me and Milika he said see my children I am dying then he asked me to take off his shoes I told him I would not remove his socks because his feet could get cold.”

Vanessa said her father was not taken to the hospital on time as they waited for their brother Abner who had gone to visit his mother in Mtendere to come and rush him to the hospital as she does not know how to drive whilst her mother was still search for the keys.

She said Lusengo found the keys and she and Milika aided her father to walk to the garage.

“When we reached the kitchen door dad paused saying he was about to pass out we encouraged him saying if he passed out we couldn’t be able to lift him up,”Vanessa said.

“Mum drove the car and dad kept saying in lenje ‘Jane wanchaya abuhule bwako’ (Jane you have killed me because of your infidelity) and mum was quiet.”

She said she called her aunt Prisca Daka to pray for the family as her father had been shot.

General Shikapwasha was admitted to Mainasoko Military hospital after which Vanessa informed the rest of the family members former First Lady Maureen Mwanawasa, Magret Katungu,Tivo Shikapwasha, Alex about the incident and they joined them at the hospital.

She said the family was briefed by medical personnel that Shikapwasha’s chances of survival were 50-50 as his internal vital organs were damaged and he had few blood pellets.

“The nurse said we wait for a heart surgeon who was coming the following morning as he was in Ndola. After the briefing Milika, Abner and myself decided we would go home around midnight to prepare mum something to eat and get her warm clothes,” she said.

“Mum was moving about in the bedroom so when I knelt down to pray with aunt Daka, I did not close my eyes that’s when I noticed mum moving from the closet going to the dressing mirror with pieces of paper that looked like they came out from a diary.”

She said she got curious when she saw Lusengo tear papers from the diary and hid the at the foot side of the bed.

Vanessa narrated that her mother trashed the papers in the kitchen bin and she instructed Milika to pick them so that they could hand them over to the police.

She said when she read through the visible pieces one had a heading which read Bill of divorcement which was in her father’s handwriting.

Vanessa said another piece had Shikapwasha’s signature appended on it with a bible verse quoted from Deuteronomy 24:1.

Shikapwasha’s daughter said her mother wanted to lie to the police about what transpired after her brother Alex ‘coached’ her about the statement she would give but she asked her to stick to the truth.

She said Lusengo was later picked up and herself together with Milika gave statements to the police regarding the incident around midnight.

During cross examination Vanessa said her father did not intimate about his death earlier in the day during a board meeting at church.

“He didn’t say he would be dying soon. He said if he would die he wanted to groom the board to take over the Ministry,”said Vanessa

WHAT SIMON MWEWA WILL NEVER TELL YOU

Some time in 2020, Hon Miles Sampa while serving as Lusaka Mayor introduced me to some Gentleman called Simon Mwewa Chitambala. At that time I was a big fun of Mr Mwewa’s keep Zambia clean campaign, to me the Man was too patriotic and proud of what he did to Raise awareness on cleanliness.

A week after Hon Miles Sampa’s wedding, I got a call from Mr Mwewa inviting me to Simoson. Later that afternoon I drove to Simoson building to meet Mr Chitambala. As usual I received a warm welcome and the man ushered me in his office were we discussed a lot of progressive things.

After close to an hour I requested to leave, on our way out Mr Chitambala complained to me on how the Councilor and cadres from city market and intercity were harassing and insulting him over the car park in front of Simoson which he claimed ownership. My good brother graciously asked me to help settle the dispute and After listening to his side I promised to escalate the matter and find a lasting solution between him the counselor and the cadres.

Later that evening I had a meeting with President Lungu, as we walked out of his office I decided to share with him Mr Mwewa’s issue. after my narration the President tasked me to make sure that all the culprits that were harassing Mr Mwewa were reported to the police. Little did I know that the President shared a good and warm relationship with Mwewa family.

The following Morning I met the inspector General of police and we discussed the matter at length and through his instructions the councilor and the cadres were seriously warned through Lusaka Division police HQ that should they repeat the same thuggery acts of harassing Mr Mwewa Police would move in and Arrest all of them.

Two days later I reported back to Mr Chitambala on how the issue was settled and to his amusement he even invited me for Dinner at a nice Chinese Restaurant in long Acres. My brother was so happy with my Intervention he even sent me a ka something for fuel. Shockingly after 2021 elections my brother started disrespecting PF leaders including my self evening calling me all sorts of names.

Anyway lesa Alemipala!!

Govt should immediately reverse fuel pump prices if it was not consulted

Govt challenged to immediately reverse fuel pump prices

The Oil Marketing Companies Association of Zambia – OMCAZ, has challenged the government to immediately reverse the fuel pump prices after the revelation that the Energy Regulatory Board – ERB did not consult the government before announcing approved hiked prices a situation the government claimed did not sit well with them.

This follows Chief Government Spokesperson Cornelius Mweetwa’s revelation during a media briefing that the Energy Regulations Board -ERB- did not consult the government before announcing approved prices.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with the Zambian Business Times – ZBT, OMCAZ President Dr. Kafula Mubanga said, “What it technically means is that money has been stolen from the Zambians if the government was not consulted and Zambians should demand a refund on the prices from the suppliers of this particular product because there were no consultations.”

Dr Mubanga noted that it is a crime for the ex-board chairman to have adjusted the prices without consultations.

“The biggest problem that we have in Zambia is that we don’t want to take full responsibility and it’s clear that we have been stolen from, how then does the government ensure that this money is refunded?

“According to the Minister’s position, those that have put these fuel prices, are stealing from the Zambians that’s the clear position and that should have raised eyebrows to ACC and other investigative wings to investigate who has been eating that money and why getting it from the Zambian people who are already starving.”

Dr Mubanga said it is enough that the Information Minister should state how he assumes that the Zambians would get back their money as they want it back. “There is an admission of guilt to a certain extent and we can’t just let that pass because we have to be responsible enough that if those people stole from the Zambians let the government go to the OMCs and direct them to reverse the prices but also to the price extent that the people of Zambia have lost.”

“So the review should be two times downwards because we know that they stole the money which is evident even in the Auditor General’s report where about K51 billion kwacha was siphoned from the overpricing of fuel prices.

Dr Mubanga remarked that it is not sufficient for the Government to just come and tell people that it was not aware of the theft adding that

TV stations refuse to air Museveni’s census message for free

Uganda’s privately owned TV and radio stations have refused to broadcast a presidential message promoting efforts to carry out a national census, citing a lack of funding.

This is despite a directive by the state-linked Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) to all broadcasters to give the census “maximum publicity” for free.

President Yoweri Museveni had recorded a video message explaining to Ugandans the importance of participating in the exercise.

But the broadcasters’ association dismissed the directive, saying they could not comply with it without adequate government funding.

The government has declared Friday a public holiday to enable citizens to fully participate in the National Housing and Population Census.

The 10-day exercise, carried out by the Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS), is intended to gather social and demographic data for proper government planning.

Mr Museveni’s message has been posted on social media, urging Ugandans to co-operate with data collectors and to provide them with accurate information.

On Tuesday, the UCC ordered all local broadcasters to air the message throughout the exercise to ensure its success.

It reminded broadcasters of their obligation, under official guidelines, to give the government free airtime for national events.

In response, the industry representative, the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB), said that private broadcasters provided free coverage during national emergencies but expected the government to fund pre-planned events like the census.

“Media outlets operated as commercial entities, paying licensing fees and taxes to the government, while also having other costs, like staff salaries,” NAB chairman Innocent Nahabwe said in a statement.

“Complying with such directives without appropriate funding would set a worrying precedent,” he added.

“It is based on these considerations that we have regrettably declined to comply with the directive issued by the UCC and will advise our members accordingly,” Mr Nahabwe said.

Uganda will be carrying out its sixth national census, with digital systems being used for the first time, local media reported.

The last census in 2014 put the East African’s state’s population at 36 million. Estimates suggest that the number has since risen to about 45 million.

Chamisa Initiates Dialogue with SADC to Address Zimbabwe’s Electoral Crisis

Nelson Chamisa, the opposition politician in Zimbabwe, has reignited efforts to address the electoral dispute stemming from the August 2023 polls by engaging with the Southern African Development Community (SADC). NewsDay has learned that discussions are underway between Chamisa and SADC, seeking a resolution to the contentious issue.

Chamisa, who lost the election for the second time to President Emmerson Mnangagwa, has consistently contested the legitimacy of the results. Mnangagwa was declared the winner with 52.6% of the vote, while Chamisa garnered 44%, according to the official announcement by the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission. Refusing to recognize Mnangagwa as the rightful leader of Zimbabwe, Chamisa labeled the election as a “gigantic fraud.”

The SADC election observer mission echoed concerns about the electoral process, stating that the Zimbabwean elections fell short of regional and international standards for holding free, fair, and credible polls. Chamisa’s attempts to engage with Mnangagwa directly regarding the electoral dispute have been met with resistance, prompting him to seek intervention from SADC.

Sources indicate that Chamisa has been corresponding with SADC since last year, urging the regional body to facilitate a resolution to the electoral impasse. In a recent letter to SADC, Chamisa reiterated the urgency of the matter, highlighting the pressure from Zimbabwean citizens who look to SADC to address the political crisis in the country.

While SADC has acknowledged Chamisa’s correspondence and indicated that his case is under review by relevant SADC structures, official responses from the regional body remain pending. Barbara Lopi, the head of communication and public relations at SADC, has not provided comments despite attempts to reach her.

Elias Magosi, the SADC executive secretary, also could not be reached for comment. Despite the lack of official confirmation, Chamisa emphasized his commitment to pursuing peaceful means to resolve the electoral dispute, underscoring the importance of ensuring credibility and integrity in Zimbabwe’s political process.

Chamisa stressed the need for a transparent and legitimate government, advocating for fresh elections as a viable solution to the crisis. He emphasized the broader implications of the situation, asserting that the credibility of regional institutions like SADC hinges on resolving the electoral dispute in Zimbabwe promptly and effectively.

While the path to resolution remains uncertain, Chamisa’s persistent efforts to engage with SADC underscore the gravity of the situation and the imperative of finding a peaceful and credible solution to Zimbabwe’s electoral crisis.

man who was conscious about his looks tragically died after plastic surgery, with CCTV revealing the horrifying truth

A man who was conscious about his looks tragically died after plastic surgery, with CCTV revealing the horrifying truth.

Kwon Dae-hee, a 24-year-old university student from South Korea, paid 6.5 million Won (about £3,800) for a surgical procedure to reshape his chin and make him look like a K-pop star.

Sadly, he died during surgery.

After declaring Kwon brain-dead, hospital officials telephoned his brother, Kwon Tae-hoon, and said that he was “in hospital, but his condition was ’not that serious’.”

When Kwon’s family arrived and found him dead, his mother, Lee Na Geum, requested the CCTV footage of the theatre where her son’s surgery was performed and the plastic surgeon handed it over.

The footage showed nurses mopping blood from the floor 13 times during the three-hour operation.

Stephanie Soo, from the Rotten Mango podcast, explained that “an average 24-year-old 150lb male has about one-and-a-half gallons of blood in his body, and he had lost two-thirds of that.”

Kwon’s mother took the CCTV footage home and watched it several times.

Stephanie said. “She just knew that something in that footage was going to be important. She snatched it right up, went home and watched it 500 times. She sat there writing down every millisecond and logging down what happened: time-stamping everything.”

The footage showed that the top plastic surgeon that Kwon had trusted to remodel his face left the operating theatre, roughly 60 minutes into the procedure. A second doctor, a recently-graduated general doctor who did not have a plastic surgery licence, was left to finish the operation.

“Ghost doctors” are commonly employed in plastic surgery.

“When the patient is knocked out on the operating table they’ll start the procedure, slip away, and a ghost doctor will come in and do most of the work,” Stephanie explained.

“While the ghost doctor is operating on Patient A, the main famous surgeon goes to Patient B and starts the whole process over again. And then on to Patients C and to D. They can do a bajillion surgeries a day, and then when it’s all done the ghost doctor will f*** off like a ghost that never existed. They’ll never be listed on the records.”

Kwon’s brother said: “My brother trusted in that main doctor, and that’s why he decided to be operated on there.”

But instead, for two hours he had been in the care of a “ghost doctor,” a less-qualified surgeon who had stepped in to help keep costs down, and profits high.

After the surgery, the anaesthetist and both doctors went home, leaving nurses in charge as Kwon continued to lose massive amounts of blood.

Stephanie continued: “At the end of the plastic surgery, he was left on the operating table in the operating room with a nurse – actually it wasn’t even a nurse it was a nursing assistant.

“He’s under anaesthesia, he hasn’t woken up, yet all the other surgeons they have left and a few nurses are in and out of the room but nobody’s checking his vitals.

“The nurse that’s sitting in that room is on her phone, she’s checking her makeup she’s texting people… she literally just could not care at all.”

On a couple of occasions, the CCTV shows the nursing assistant looking up in response to the sound of blood dropping out of the patient, and just grabbing a mop and clearing it up.

“I don’t think this ghost doctor checked how much blood my son lost,” the bereaved mother, Lee, said.

“I was so angry at that fact. Had just one of the three doctors checked how much he bled, but no one did.”

Kwon’s family have been awarded 430 million won (£265,000) in damages against the clinic.

The surgeon in the case has been sentenced to three years of prison for involuntary manslaughter.

Ringleader who castrated himself and other men and made ‘testicle salad’ is jailed

The ringleader of an extreme body modification website who had his penis and leg removed and assisted others in cutting off body parts was jailed for life in the UK today, May 9.

Marius Gustavson, 46, must serve a minimum term of 22 years, a judge ruled today at the Old Bailey.

The Norweigan national led an extreme body modifications ring and made £300,000 from his Eunuch Maker website.

The Old Bailey heard how he ran a “lucrative business” distributing “dangerous, unnecessary and life-changing surgeries”.

The people carrying out these surgeries would have no medical qualifications.

Among the services offered were male castration, penis removal and freezing of limbs, as part of his “eunuchmaker.com”.

Before it was brought down, the site had over 22,000 users who paid £ 100 a year to watch videos of the brutal procedures.

Gustavson had frozen his own leg meaning it had to be amputated. He used a wheelchair and claimed £18,500 in disability benefits from it. He also had the tip of his nipple cut off and had removed his own penis.

The court heard how the “master manipulator” had recruited like-minded individuals to help him.

He appeared in court for sentencing by video link from HMP Wandsworth, with the judge saying his practice was “at least disgusting and abhorrent”.

The chamber heard that at his home body parts including testicles were found in old food containers in his freezer.

His own penis was found in a draw in his home some four years after it was amputated.

The judge noted the procedures were “grave and life-threatening matters” with “permanent and irreversible” results.

“Many of them may require extensive medical and other assistance for the rest of their lives,” the judge said.

Looking at images of body parts on his freezer, the judge told Gustavson: “No doubt what you would regard as the trophies of your acts of carrying out extreme body modifications.

“You are very much the mastermind behind this grizzly and gruesome enterprise.

“The motivations of all were a mix of sexual gratification as well as financial reward.”

Prosecutor Caroline Carberry KC said he sold body parts, while there “was clear evidence of cannibalism” and added that “he cooked some testicles for lunch”.

She added: “The images, from raw ingredients to an artfully arranged salad platter, were discovered by officers”.

Gustavson pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit grievous bodily harm (GBH) between 2016 and 2022.

He also admitted five more counts of causing GBH with intent, making an indecent image of a child, possessing criminal property, possessing extreme pornographic images and three counts of distributing indecent pseudo-photographs of a child.

Some of the victims, who were promised money from the video sales, reacquired emergency medical treatment afterwards.

Rashvinderjeet Panesar, defending Gustavson, said he had a “desire to be the architect of his own body” and added: “feelings of empowerment and greater acceptance of himself”.

David Carruthers, 61, Janus Atkin, 39, Peter Wates, 67 and Ion Ciucur, 30, previously pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit GBH between 2016 and 2022.

They were jailed for 11 years, 12 years, 12 years, and five years and eight months respectively.

Ashley Williams, 32, and Stefan Scharf, 61, also pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily harm with intent and were each jailed for four and a half years, due to serve two-thirds before being removed on licence.

Jacob Crimi-Appleby, 23, Damien Byrnes, 36, and Nathaniel Arnold, 48, have all pleaded guilty to GBH and received sentences already of three years and eight months, five years, and two years suspended respectively.

woman went on a wild shooting rampage, killing her husband and her own sister before she was killed by her brother

A Kentucky woman went on a wild shooting rampage, killing her husband and her own sister before she was killed by her brother in a shootout, police said.

Angela Gosser, 56, is accused of driving to her brother’s house on Friday, May 3 in Jamestown with a gun and forcing her way into the home.

Her brother, Darryl Wilson, 58, was home at the time, and according to a press release from the Kentucky State Police, he had a gun too.

Police said the two siblings got into a shootout that ended with Gosser dead.

Wilson was injured and taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, police said.

According to police, the extent of Gosser’s crime spree only became apparent when authorities were called to her sister, Jennifer Wilson’s, home for a welfare check.

Jennifer Wilson’s family said they weren’t able to get in touch with her and were concerned for her safety, according to the press release.

When authorities arrived at the home in Russell County, they made a grisly discovery.

Troopers and deputies found Jennifer Wilson sitting in the driver’s seat of a Toyota Camry with apparent fatal gunshot wounds to the head. Police said they believe that before the incident at her brother’s house, Gosser came across Jennifer Wilson and shot at her multiple times through the car’s passenger side – leaving her for dead.

“Right now, that is open for investigation. We are still working with detectives and looking for leads. They are back there working to find the end of it,” Pulaski County Sheriff Bobby Jones told WKYT.

According to his obituary, Larry Gosser was an avid fisherman and hunter who loved the outdoors, loved his animals and most of all loved spending time with his family and friends.

Investigators have not yet announced a motive for the killings.

‘Absolute disaster!, violation of rules – Tuchel fumes at Ligt’s disallowed goal

Thomas Tuchel expressed frustration at the “absolute disaster” decision that disallowed Matthijs de Ligt’s late equaliser for Bayern Munich against Real Madrid.

Bayern, leading the heavyweight semi-final tie with three minutes remaining, suffered a sudden collapse after substituting 44-goal striker Harry Kane, allowing Blancos substitute Joselu to score twice in three minutes.

Although Bayern believed they had secured a 113th-minute equaliser with De Ligt’s goal, it was disallowed for a debatable offside call that had halted play, and VAR could not review the decision.

Match officials are told to delay such calls when decisions are so tight, with Noussair Mazraoui potentially level with the last man, and Bayern boss Tuchel told TNT Sports afterwards: “That was an absolute disaster. A violation of the rules. This scene must be played out until the end.

That’s the rule. The linesman made the mistake, and the referee made the second mistake. We were almost there and a very unusual mistake by the best player for the equaliser, we conceded in a very narrow decision in stoppage time.

Then we scored one and it was a disastrous decision from the linesman and the referee, so it feels almost like a betrayal in the end because of that decision. The linesman said sorry. That does not help at that kind of level—to raise the flag in a decision like this, in a close decision at the last minute.

The referee as well; he does not have to whistle; he sees that we win the second ball; he sees that we get the shot away. To whistle is a very, very bad decision. It is against the rules and it is a bad decision from both of them. It is a disaster, tough to swallow, but it is the way it is.”

Tuchel added, “Having the balls to raise the flag in a situation like that is a big mistake. And then the referee, when he saw that we had won the rebound, made the decision to whistle. It wouldn’t have happened the other way around. We accept the apology (from the linesman) but this is not the time to apologise. It’s the semi-finals and it’s not the time to make those sorts of mistakes.”

Real Madrid has secured their spot in another Champions League final, setting up a showdown against Borussia Dortmund, who are also from Germany.

Meanwhile, Bayern Munich will be left to ponder over a season without a major trophy for the first time since 2011–12.

Rio Ferdinand fumes over delayed resolution on Man City’s 115 charges

Rio Ferdinand has voiced his anticipation for the outcome of Manchester City’s financial fair play case, suggesting that Premier League teams could react strongly depending on the verdict.

The 2023 treble winners face over 100 charges related to financial fair play regulations spanning nearly a decade.

Despite the charges being leveled in February 2023, a resolution may not be reached until the following year, leaving rival clubs, including Everton and Nottingham Forest, frustrated by the uncertainty.

Ferdinand speculated that if City were to evade significant penalties, the fallout could be substantial, implying that the league’s landscape may be dramatically altered.

Speaking on his FIVE podcast, an impatient Ferdinand asked: “When is this going to get sorted out? Because everybody else’s cases seem to be getting sorted out mighty, mighty quick. Everton have had two dockings this season already. Nottingham Forest, all these teams are getting docked points. Manchester City’s are just… [pretends to thumb through pages].

“If I was those clubs, I’d be like, ‘let’s see what happens with City first’. But if they get nothing or a little slap on the list, I can see them going nuts. When I went to a court case about racism a few months ago, he had one charge. It took two-and-a-half years! They’ve got 115; it’s nuts!”

The severity of the charges has raised speculation regarding the potential magnitude of the sanctions awaiting City. Suggestions range from hefty points deductions to the stripping of trophies, with relegation even mooted as a possible outcome.

Premier League CEO Richard Masters revealed that the date is already set for City’s trials during the European League general assembly, but refrained from announcing any further specifics.

“Obviously we can’t comment on the case; the date has been set and the case will resolve itself at some point in the near future, and I cannot make any further comment on it,” he said.

City are on the verge of winning the Premier League title again and will return to action on Saturday against Fulham at Craven Cottage.
