‘I was saved by Zanu-PF people during 2017 coup’ – Jonathan Moyo

Former cabinet Minister Jonathan Moyo said, to be alive today, he was saved by “genuine assistance and support” from Zanu PF people during the “life threatening” 2017 military coup that ousted the late former President Robert Mugabe.

During the peak of factionalism in Zanu-PF in 2017, Moyo and many other senior party officials who were aligned to Mugabe’s wife Grace were identified as “G-40”. They were opposed to then Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s camp which was identified as the “lacoste” and its succession plan.

When the army took over power in November 2017, Moyo and his colleagues including former cabinet Ministers Patrick Zhuwao, Walter Mzembi and Saviour Kasukuwere fled the country.

Moyo said the whole ordeal was a “life threatening” situation that he and his family only survived through the assistance of some Zanu-PF people.

He did not mention names but emphasised that his bond with Zanu-PF is unbreakable despite the events of 2017.

Moyo revealed this in his long response to opposition Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) senior member David Coltart who he accused of making “fraudulent and disgusting” comments about the death of his father Melusi Job Mlevu who “was callously murdered in Tsholotsho by gukurahundi soldiers on 22 January 1983.”

Coltart, a former Minister of Education, has since successfully apologised to Moyo.

In defending his ‘undying’ support for Zanu-PF, Moyo, a former Minister of Information, argued that his political career started with the ruling party supporting him with educational opportunities while he was in the United States.

When the military coup happened, Moyo said he was saved by Zanu-PF people who risked their lives to make sure his family was safe.

“Yet the bigger story is that I, my family and my colleagues survived that 2017 ordeal with the very direct, active and truly genuine assistance and support from Zanu PF people,” Moyo said.

“Working with other African Angeles, and I emphasize African Angeles, it was Zanu PF people who made sure that we were able to be safe and to get out of the country to be where I am today, all of them at great risk to their lives or livelihoods.

“In 2017 I was saved to be alive today by Zanu PF people.

“During the life threatening 2017 ordeal that my family and I went through, there was not even one person associated with the opposition as it was then, or as it is today, who reached out to find out where I was or how I was doing.

“It is common cause, some of it is documented, that many in the opposition then and who are still in opposition today, actually wanted me dead, all because of my political differences with them.”

Moyo and Zhuwao have since apologised to Zanu-PF for supporting the opposition during 2018 harmonised elections. They are not yet clear if they intend to come back to the party.

It is believed that Moyo is in Kenya while the rest of his colleagues are in South Africa.

Kasukuwere has already become a fierce critic of Mnangagwa following his public announcement that he wants to challenge the Zanu-PF leader in the upcoming elections to be held on the 23rd of August this year.

The former Zanu-PF political commissar’s candidature, however, was thrown out by the High Court over allegations that he was not in Zimbabwe for over 18 months.

Wagner boss welcomes Niger coup in audio recording

0

Wagner mercenary boss, Yevgeny Prigozhin, has welcomed the military coup in Niger, according to an unverified audio message.

Niger has been a key Western ally in the fight against Islamist militants in West Africa.

The US and France, the former colonial power, both have military bases in the uranium-rich country.

The unverified voice message from Mr Prigozhin appeared on a Telegram app channel associated with the group, saying the takeover was long overdue.

According to the Reuters news agency, the speaker had the same distinctive intonation and turn of phrase in Russian as the Wagner boss.

“What happened in Niger is nothing more than the struggle of the people of Niger against colonisers, who tried to impose their own rules of life,” AFP news agency quotes him as saying.

“In order to maintain their actual slave system in the territories of these states, they deploy various foreign missions, which number tens of thousands of soldiers.”

He went on to hail the “effectiveness” of Wagner, explaining a thousand of its fighters “are able to restore order and destroy terrorists, preventing them from harming the civilian population”, AFP reports.

The release of voice message coincided with the publication on Telegram of photographs showing Mr Prigozhin in St Petersburg at the Africa-Russia summit.

He was seen shaking hands with Ambassador Freddy Mapouka, a senior official in the Central African Republic (CAR).

It is the first confirmed sighting of Mr Prigozhin in Russia since Wagner’s failed mutiny in June.

Wagner has a security contract in CAR and through its network of companies allegedly trades there in conflict minerals and timber, as well as making beer and vodka.

The shadowy mercenary group is also in Mali, where it is believed to have about 1,000 soldiers and where its troops have been accused of carrying out atrocities.

Their deployment in December 2021 had followed a breakdown in diplomatic relations between Mali’s military regime and France, prompting the former colonial power to withdraw its counter-terror troops.

According to Reuters, the Wagner boss was heard in a video released earlier this month telling his men, now exiled to Belarus, that they should gather their strength for a “new journey to Africa”.

“There are absolutely no complications with regards to Zambia’s relationship with the West and China. Economic diplomacy is our anchor that we want to achieve in order to grow our economy and provide our children’s needs in terms of education and also job creation for our youths in the country,” said President Hichilema.
He emphasised that Zambia is ready and committed to work with various countries saying good relationships with other countries is good not only for Zambia but the world as a whole.

President Hichilema said military coups have no space in Africa and should not be allowed to take root.

“Military coups are bad and should not be allowed anywhere in Africa,” said President Hichilema.

He said that democracy advances development saying military coups affect the ordinary citizens and should be condemned in strongest terms.

President Hichilema says there is a need for a stable world where every country is at peace with other countries and citizens working together within the spaces provided for through democracy.

Meanwhile, President Hichilema says Zambia has a lot to learn from Israel in terms of technological innovation and advances.

He said using technology, Israel has recorded success stories in agricultural production saying Zambia would like to leverage on the technological innovation made by Israel to improve and grow its economy.

President Hichilema says water harvesting is another thing that Zambia wants to learn from Israel in order to improve agricultural production.

Mr. Hichilema said Zambia wants to reduce the cost of doing business by incorporating technology and innovations.

He said Zambia has drawn a lot of lessons from Israel through a presentation by Start – up Nation Policy Institute on the need to incorporate technology and allow the private sector to participate in the economic development of the country.

Earlier, Start-up National Policy Institute Senior Policy Fellow Danny Biran said Israel is where it is today through technological innovation and advances as well as the participation of the private sector in the economic development of the country.

Mr. Biran said Israel 30 years ago was very poor but invested in technological innovation and advances and allowing the private sector to fully participate in the economic development of the country.

He said technology is key in economic development.
“Israel is where it is today compared to 30 years ago because of investment in technological innovation and advances and also because of team work of allowing the private sector to participate in the economic development of the country,” said Mr. Biran.

President Hichilema accompanied by the First Lady Mrs Mutinta Hichilema arrived in Israel yesterday on a debut visit at the invitation of Israeli President His Excellency Mr. Isaac Herzog.

‘CHURCH’ IS A CRIME SCENE; PASTOR IS ACCUSED NUMBER ONE

‘CHURCH’ IS A CRIME SCENE; PASTOR IS ACCUSED NUMBER ONE

By Pastor Lawrence Musunte

I read the story of an SDA Church Elder Lovemore Hang’andu who allegedly defiled a 14 year old girl in front of a twin sister.

What upset me the most is the words of the aunt to the twins which reveal that there is a gap in Gender-based violence education in our churches.

This is what she said;

“I never thought that a man of God, who presides over a church, can defile my niece. He was so good to the children and everyone in the village,”

The mother of the twins is blind, but the aunt who has both functional eyes is actually blind herself.

So the Church elder requested that the twins should go with him to his house to help clean his house. And the aunt didn’t see danger in that request, but instead allowed the twins to go to the slaughter house!

Dear Aunt, a man of God who presides over a church can defile girl/boy child, & can rape a sister in the Lord.

And yes dear Aunt, wolves in sheep’s clothes don’t look like wolves.

Our children are defiled & molested by men who are kind, generous, compassionate, community builders etc.

To ‘church’ mothers, I refer to church mothers because these mothers tend to leave their brains behind when it comes to churches & pastors;

I want you to hear this & I will be very graphic about it, so STOP reading NOW if you are sensitive!

Sending your daughters or single or married women to wash, cook & clean for a single Pastor is putting both the girl child & adult ladies in compromising position.

Church members aren’t maids or slaves for men of God to use & abuse in their houses!

A Pastor is not a castrated eunach or monk who has no sexual feelings.

Humans are born with sexual feelings, we are designed by the Marker to desire sex.

A Pastor has feelings, he has electricity flowing restlessly in his body.

The Pastor’s blood boils hot & reaches his penis & pastor do get up & hard,

sometimes you can see even when on the pulpit the instrument of procreation is seen breathing hard through those skin tight Jeans.

Putting the twins in a house alone with a horny or even unhorny pastor is irresponsible parenting by both mothers & fathers!

SDA is been making news around issues of sexual violence.

I am not attacking the church, perhaps we should examine how our church programs are structured in order to avoid programs that might put the boy/girl child in danger of sexual violence.

But truth is; the church has taken long to address Gender-based issues inside the church.

Education around Gender-based violence in the context of the Christian Church will help to highlight situations that favor abuse.

How can an Elder/Pastor require a girl child to clean his house & make meals for him as if he is incapacitated???

House chores are basic survival skills. Both the Bible Colleges I went to we were taught to do our beds, clean our rooms, be on cooking roasters, cleaning dishes, cleaning the toilets, gardening etc.

Why would a Pastor require female members to help him with house chores?

We need to educate this aunt that leaving meat in a dog house & except that because the dog is a nice dog it won’t eat the meat is foolishness!

I am not saying Elder Lovemore Han’gandu is a loose dog. As a matter of fact the elder shouldn’t be entertaining women in his house alone.

Some pastors are accused of sexual crimes & they can’t defend themselves because they put themselves in compromising positions with the opposite sex.

Similarly; some Women of God are also trapping brothers in the church for sex. The advice is the same.

If a Pastor can’t clean & cook his own food perhaps he is not qualified enough to shepherd the house of God.

Parents, before you allow your child to go to a church boot camp, do some homework.

Unfortunately for this twin, she is pregnant.

Someone must say it out loud in Church that 14 years is not the age of consent.

It is called statutory rape, & if found guilty Elder Lovemore will be loving more soap in prison!

President HH praise China and France for the debt restructuring deal

I only need one term and retire to be a pastor- Nelson Chamisa

Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) president Nelson Chamisa said he only needs one term as President of Zimbabwe to fix the economy and retire to be a pastor.

He told party supporters at a rally held at Muchakata Business Centre in Masvingo Central on Monday, that the late President Robert Mugabe and late Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) founding father Morgan Tsvangirai said he was the rightful person to fix the economy.

“I will not stay long in power, I will only be in power for one term and leave others to lead the country.

“I have been telling you ndakasiirwa basa naTsvangirai and Mugabe kuti basa rako kuti ugadzire nyika ive nechimiro, yava nechimiro ngakuite mumwe (Tsvangirai and Mugabe gave me task to fix the country until all issues are resolved and leave the presidency to others).

“I will then go and rest in Gutu, teaching about leadership, preaching the word of God,” said Chamisa.

He also said he would have a small Government with 15 ministers. Chamisa said there is no need for over 20 ministers when the economy is not functional.

President Emmerson Mnangagwa has 21 ministries and over 50 ministers and their deputies. Some are special ministers in the office of the President.

“We want to have a lean and mean Government with a maximum of 15 ministers. You cannot be a minister of finance when the country does not have finance, Minister of water when there is no water in the country. You can’t be a minister of education when the education is in tatters.

“If I win the election and fail, the country should remove me from power. Leaders must know that they come and go. We want to stop the abuse of power,” said Chamisa.

He also said that due to the current structure provinces are divided based on tribal lines. His Government will redress that and divide them into five regions.

“Midlands will be the administrative capital of our land, Masvingo will be known as the ancient capital also retaining our culture and tradition, Bulawayo as the Industrial capital, Manicaland as the horticultural capital.

“The country will be reduced from 10 provinces to five regions, North, South, East, West and Central. We are currently dividing each other because of tribalism,” he added.

Julius Malema urges Zimbabweans to reclaim country from ‘kleptocracy’

South Africa’s second-largest opposition party, Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema, has warned President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s administration against frequent “pretentious” elections and urged Zimbabweans to fight and reclaim the country from “kleptocracy”.

Malema on Saturday, addressed thousands of EFF supporters at the party’s 10th anniversary held at the FNB Stadium in Soweto.

Due to bad governance, corruption and human rights abuses in Zimbabwe, thousands of citizens have left the country to South Africa for greener pastures.

Malema was asked on the sidelines of the anniversary celebrations to state his message to the suffering Zimbabweans scattered around the world.

He urged them to fight Mnangagwa’s “criminal” regime.

“They must never despair. They must continue to fight for their country and reclaim it from kleptocracy and a criminality that has hijacked Zimbabwe.

“We want the Zimbabweans to fight to take over their own country. We want the international community to lift the sanctions and allow Zimbabwe to work again.

“These people that are saying there are Zimbabweans all over are the ones who should be matching in solidarity with the people of Zimbabwe and demanding free and fair elections in Zimbabwe,” he said.

With Zimbabwe set to hold harmonised general elections in three weeks’ time, Malema slammed authorities for what he called “pretentious elections”.

“This thing of pretentious elections is not going to work. It is not going to deliver the much needed confidence that Zimbabweans need now from the international community to lift the sanctions.

“The Zimbabweans must never despair. They must continue to fight for their country,” the 42 year old popular politician said.

Zimbabwe has a history of conducting disputed elections for over two decades marred by political violence, intolerance and manipulation.

The country will hold the plebiscite on the 23rd of August. But critics and analysts have already discredited the referendum accusing the election management body, the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC), of manipulating elections in favour of the ruling Zanu-PF party.

Adding to this is the recent disqualification of the main opposition Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC)’s 12 Bulawayo parliamentary candidates on a controversial basis that they allegedly submitted their nomination papers after a 4pm deadline.

Commenting about the pre-election environment in Zimbabwe, human rights lawyer Siphosami Malunga said:

“Never in Zimbabwe’s 43 year-old history has an election been so irretrievably discredited, ZEC so compromised, the electoral process so flawed and manipulated and the outcome so delegitimised prior to the first ballot being cast. This is no election. It’s a sham. The cost will be high!”

Trump’s campaign employee who ‘helped hide secret materials’ appears in court

The Mar-a-Lago property manager for Donald Trump made his first court appearance to answer to allegations that he assisted the former president in hiding secret information.

Carlos De Oliveira did not enter a plea at the James Lawrence King Federal Justice Building in Miami on Monday afternoon because he has not yet hired a lawyer. He was dressed in a blue suit and tie.

De Oliveira is charged with conspiring with Trump to try to erase surveillance footage that federal investigators had requested in order to look into the secret materials that Trump had taken from the White House to his Florida home. There are four counts against De Oliveira, including obstructing the administration of justice.

De Olivera’s arraignment was set for August 10 by US Magistrate Judge Edwin Torres, who also commanded him not to communicate with any of the other defendants in the case, including Trump’s valet Walt Nauta.

De Oliveira was informed of his legal rights during the 10-minute hearing and freed on a $100,000 bail.

“The Justice Department has regrettably decided to bring these charges, and now it’s time for them to put their money where their mouth is,” De Oliveira’s attorney said following the hearing.

Four days after the prosecution published a revised indictment in the case involving the secret documents, which included new accusations of obstruction and deliberate retention of national defence information, De Oliveira showed up in court. De Oliveira was listed as a third defendant.

When asked if he assisted Nauta in moving boxes of secret information about Mar-a-Lago during a voluntary interview, the prosecution claims that De Oliveira lied to FBI investigators.

According to the superseding indictment released on Thursday, De Oliveira led another Mar-a-Lago employee to a “audio closet” in June 2022 and inquired about the amount of security footage the server could store.

The boss, most likely referring to Trump, wanted the server data wiped, according to De Oliveira. De Oliveira is accused of saying the “boss” demanded it be done and questioned, “What are we going to do?” when the employee replied he didn’t think he could delete the server.

Trump and Nauta have both pleaded not-guilty to all allegations.

On Monday, Trump addressed a second federal indictment that he previously stated he anticipates from special counsel Jack Smith, who is in charge of the investigation into leaked classified information.

Regarding an investigation into the rioting on January 6 at the Capitol and efforts by Trump and his friends to rig the 2020 election, Trump’s attorneys met with Smith’s prosecutors last week.

Trump posted on his Truth Social platform, “I presume that an Indictment from Deranged Jack Smith and his extremely political gang of Thugs, referring to my “PEACEFULLY & PATRIOTICALLY Speech, will be coming out any day now.”

Zelensky claims to know just how Putin will pass away

0

Volodymyr Zelensky, the president of Ukraine, has sworn that Vladimir Putin will pass away battered.

He mocked the notion that the struggle might last for decades like some of the Kremlin’s earlier wars, saying Russian forces know “deep down in their hearts” they cannot win in Ukraine.

Zelensky told Brazil’s TV Globo, “It can’t.” Putin won’t survive for that long. At the rate he is battling us, he did not fight in Syria. He will not last for 30 years because of this.

He will pass away and cease to exist. This is unquestionably absolute.

Putin “won’t survive even 10 years,” said Zelensky, adding, “He is not that figure.”

He claimed that Russia’s military operations demonstrate that they are “unable to completely occupy Ukraine and destroy us.”

The president said, “They were capable at the beginning of it.” “They believed they would.” And we took action both from within the state and from without, which allowed us to surpass them in strength.

He vowed to thwart any attempt by Russia to reorganise and conquer his nation, saying, “As long as we are alive, we will not let them become as strong as they were.”

During the time when Zelensky made his remarks, Russian missiles struck his community in central Ukraine once more, killing six people, including a 10-year-old girl and her mother.

The attack took place the day after the president of Ukraine issued a warning that war will soon return to Russia.

After a drone strike on Moscow, he claimed that attacks on “symbolic centres and military bases” were a “inevitable, natural, and absolutely fair process.”

Last week, the current Ukrainian counteroffensive—which is using weapons provided by Western allies and aims to drive Russian forces out of occupied territory—got more intense.

At the same time, Kiev reportedly used drones to attack sites as far away as the Russian capital in an effort to extend the war into that country.

A few kilometres from the Kremlin, two office buildings were destroyed in the most recent strike on Sunday. The attack was not acknowledged by Ukrainian government.

Following that incident, Russia strengthened security, according to Dmitry Peskov, a spokesman for the Kremlin, who called the assault a “act of desperation.”

The counteroffensive is not going as anticipated, thus the Kyiv regime is in a very, very bad situation, Peskov added.

It is clear that the numerous billions of dollars in resources that NATO nations have given the Kyiv regime are being used inefficiently.

“This raises important questions in Western capitals and significant unease among Western taxpayers.”

According to analysts, Putin is banking that as the war drags on and costs rise, Western support for Ukraine will decline.

China restricts export of drones due to ‘national security concerns’

0

China will impose export restrictions on drones and drone equipment to “safeguard national security and interests,” according to a statement made by the country’s commerce ministry on Monday. This decision may have an impact on the situation in Ukraine.

Vendors will need to request approval to export specific drone engines, lasers, imaging, communications, and radar equipment due to the equipment restrictions. The restrictions, which go into effect on September 1, also apply to consumer-grade drones that meet particular requirements.

An unnamed ministry representative issued an internet statement banning the export of any civilian drones not covered by the regulations for military use.

The statement added that China has “consistently opposed the use of civilian drones for military purposes” and that its “modest expansion of the scope of drone control this time is an important measure to demonstrate its commitment as a responsible major country to implement global security initiatives and maintain world peace.”

As Moscow wages war on its neighbour, drones have become a more prevalent component of modern warfare, being used by both Russia and Ukraine. During the conflict, civilian drones that could be modified or used for military purposes have also gained attention.

CNN discovered proof of an armed, downed Chinese-made drone earlier this year that had been deployed to target Ukrainian military.

It was their airframe, the manufacturer, Mugin Limited, said CNN, calling the situation “deeply unfortunate.”

The devices are referred to as “Alibaba drones” by some tech journalists since they can be purchased for up to $15,000 on Chinese marketplace websites like Alibaba and Taobao.

China has a substantial domestic drone manufacturing business and exports drones to many nations, including the United States.

A report created by the US Office of the Director of National Intelligence, which claimed that as of March, China “had shipped more than $12 million in drones and drone parts” to Russia, was published last week. The report cited a “third-party analysis” of Russian customs data and stated that China had exported more than $12 million in drones and drone parts to Russia.

The paper, headed “Support Provided by the People’s Republic of China to Russia” and dated 2023, mostly bases its assertions on information from open sources and news coverage from Western media.

The report mentions shipments of “dual-use” equipment but does not say if the alleged drone shipments were utilised in combat.

Friday, a representative for China’s Foreign Ministry denied the claim, stating that Beijing’s collaboration with Moscow “does not target any third party.”

In a statement released in April, the Commerce Ministry refuted claims that China was aiding Russia militarily by exporting drones to the front lines, labelling media reports of such behaviour as “deliberate smears.”

A spokeswoman stated that some Chinese civilian drone businesses had also “taken the initiative to suspend their operations in conflict areas” since the “crisis” in Ukraine started. This was due to China’s limitations on specific drones, which barred them from being used for “non-peaceful purposes,” the spokesperson added.

Chinese leaders have long been cautioned by Western officials not to financially back the Russian war. Beijing has maintained its diplomatic and financial backing for Moscow despite claiming neutrality in the war.

However, there are “ongoing concerns” that Chinese companies may be giving Russia technology that could “advance its aggression in Ukraine,” according to US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, who stated in June that Washington had “received assurances from China that it is not and will not provide lethal assistance to Russia for use in Ukraine.”

The measures also come amid high-tech export restrictions between the United States and China as a result of growing worries in Washington about the threat Beijing poses to its national security.

China claimed that its new policies, which were unveiled on Monday, do not target “any specific” nation.

Henry Gao, a law professor at Singapore Management University, claims that the limitations are an addition to the drone export prohibitions Beijing has already put in place for the better part of the last 20 years.

In recent years, “especially since the US-China trade war,” China has also placed restrictions on the grounds of national security, he claimed.

The additional actions would “further exacerbate US-China tensions and make it harder for businesses in both countries to do business,” Gao continued.

According to two US lawmakers, the largest drone manufacturer in the world, DJI, which is based in Shenzhen, makes more than 50% of the drones marketed in the US. US public safety agencies like DJI models. They proposed legislation earlier this year that would prevent the firm from using the communications infrastructure in the US.

The US implemented broad rules last year that prevent Chinese corporations from acquiring sophisticated semiconductors and chip-making machinery without a licence. Beijing implemented export restrictions on two components necessary for the production of semiconductors last month. The restrictions start on August 1.

Already, drones are a factor in US-China tensions.

In 2021, the US added DJI to a list of companies to avoid investing in because of allegations that the company assisted in the mistreatment of Uyghur Muslims and other racial and religious minorities in China’s Xinjiang region.

The business was prohibited from acquiring American technology since it was already on the US Entity List. DJI vehemently denied doing anything to earn a spot on the list.

Following the ministry’s announcement on Tuesday, DJI posted a statement to its website in which it declared that it had never created or marketed any technology for military use and that it would “actively cooperate” with the new export control regulations.

Wagner suspends hiring as Putin introduces shadowy new mercenary regime

0

After Putin approved plans for a vast network of private militias on domestic turf, the leader of the Wagner mercenary company halted recruiting.

The creation of “specialised companies” to “ensure public safety” and defend Russia’s borders is now permitted thanks to new rules that the Kremlin discreetly approved last week.

Officials have not specified what responsibilities specifically will be assigned to mercenaries or why they are required in addition to Russia‘s territorial army and national guard.

However, the Russian president recently made a suggestion that he wants to alter the status of the numerous private military firms that operate in Russia but are not “legally existing.”

Yevgeny Prigozhin, the leader of Wagner who led thousands of his men on a failed mutiny march against Moscow last month, has not publicly replied to the proposals.

However, he seemed to go out of his way in an audio message shared on Telegram to make it clear that Wagner is not beefing up its soldiers in the wake of the incident.

The 62-year-old oligarch acknowledged that the majority of the Wagner forces are currently “on vacation” and that the remainder will train in Belarus or participate in ongoing projects in Africa.

He emphasised that Wagner is moving on to its “next tasks,” which are “becoming more and more clearly drawn,” although he made no mention of any new contracts.

Prigozhin continued, “We do not want to conduct a new recruiting as long as we do not have a shortfall in employees.

However, if you stay in touch with us, we’ll be very thankful, and we’ll start recruiting as soon as the Motherland needs to form a new (extra) group to be able to defend our nation’s interests.

The greatness of Russia “will be upheld” in the execution of any future Wagner missions, he continued.

Wagner’s military skill and Prigozhin’s popularity among his men have provided Putin, who is often ruthless in putting down dissent, with a difficult issue.

The remarks made by Prigozhin might have been an attempt to reassure Putin that he is no longer a danger.

However, they could also be a subliminal attempt to signal to Moscow that he still has the support of both his troops and the Russian people more than the president.

Only a few of his soldiers chose to enlist in the regular Russian army, a choice that was provided to them as part of the agreement to put an end to the coup, according to Prigozhin.

He described the situation as “unfortunate,” although this may have been little more than lip service to avoid upsetting the Kremlin.

According to reports, the mutineers were motivated by a string of military gaffes attributed to inept Russian generals, including rumours of unintentional friendly-fire missile strikes against Wagner outposts close to the front line.

After Russia’s military leaders’ progress in Ukraine stalled, Prigozhin criticised them more and more harshly.

He made the ouster of Valery Gerasimov, the chief of the military staff, and Sergei Shoigu, the minister of defence, the centrepiece of his uprising.

Prigozhin may be implying that Wagner still rules the mercenary world in Russia by publicly stating that Wagner warriors are still averse to fighting for Putin’s generals.

Putin claimed earlier this month that because Russia lacks a legislation governing private military enterprises, Wagner “does not exist” legally. He made this claim to a reporter for the Russian newspaper Kommersant on Thursday.

His ministries and the Duma, the Russian parliament, would discuss new legislation on the subject.

The Duma’s defence committee said on Tuesday that new regulations raising the military service age include “amendments” that “provide for a legal mechanism” on private military firms controlled by state officials.

The action is intended to strengthen Russia’s domestic security without producing another Wagner, claims Karolina Hird, a Russia researcher at the Institute for the Study of War.

According to Ms. Hird, “They’re trying to balance these two competing but extremely crucial security requirements.”

And that’s why it’s necessary to develop a militarised entity similar to Wagner but architecturally extremely different from Wagner, as Wagner’s design was essentially a byproduct of the security threat it ultimately posed to the Russian state.

However, these organisations cannot be so centralised and strong that they develop into their own Wagner organisation and then represent a threat to the Russian state similar to what Wagner did during the uprising. “They need these kinds of entities to fill certain law enforcement and security roles in Russian regions.”

Experts have warned that if the Kremlin tries to enlist additional reserve soldiers or civilians for its invasion, the new armed organisations may also put an end to protests by regular Russian citizens.

UPND not threatened by Lungu’s political comeback, says Mweetwa

UPND not threatened by Lungu’s political comeback, says Mweetwa

UNITED Party for National Development (UPND) says it is not threatened by the possible comeback of former president Edgar Lungu to politics.

Speaking when he addressed the media yesterday in Lusaka, UPND spokes person, Cornelius Mweetwa said that the party’s fearless spirit is inspired by the fact that Lungu initiated most of the challenges Zambians are currently going through.

“let me answer this once and for all, we as UPND are not afraid of President Lungu’s possible political comeback. If there’s something we are concerned about are the people if Zambia because they are the ones who vote for a president and all elected officials.

He said that many of the problems that government is being made to explain are as a result of the maladministration and bad decisions of the PF tenure, particularly in their last 6 years.

“It will therefore be shocking to imagine that cities who understand the genesis of the situation we find ourselves in today can fancy going back to where these problems started from,” He said.

Mweetwa sited that government is rather concerned with the movements in the pricing of mealie-meal and not in the movements of the former president siting them as mare privileges in furtherance and pursuit of enjoyment of his constitutionally guaranteed human rights of movement, association and expression in an environment that the current government has allowed.

He said despite that, government is aware of the current high cost of living and are tirelessly working towards measures to resolve the demand.

“We are looking for the price stability because we know that the high mealie-meal prices have caused a lot of anxiety amongst our citizenry. We are aware that in the long term, we are going to trigger an increase in the production of maize which will in turn lead to a reduction in the prices of mealie-meal,” said Mweetwa.

He further added that in order to mitigate the challenge, government has already distributed basal dressing (compound D) fertilizer to 116 districts noting that, President Hichilema has his both hands on the deck for nation’s economic recovery program.

NDOLA PROPERTY OWNERS ACCUSE TRANSPORT AND LOGISTICS MINISTER FRANK TAYALI OF DEMOLISHING THEIR HOUSES

NDOLA PROPERTY OWNERS ACCUSE TRANSPORT AND LOGISTICS MINISTER FRANK TAYALI OF DEMOLISHING THEIR HOUSES
By Staff reporter
Some affected property owners in Ndola on the Copperbelt are calling on President Hakainde Hichilema to intervene in a matter where Ndola Central Member of Parliament Frank Tayali is alleged to have demolished some houses he claims were built on land belonging to him.

According to the affected property owners, Mr. Tayali and Twapia Ward Councilor Henry Kabwebwe on the night of Friday 28th July sent some party cadres to demolish two houses and a wall fence on a land he is claiming ownership.
A check by Phoenix News found the wall fences of the two houses demolished.

One of the property owners disclosed that prior to the demolition, Mr. Tayali in the company of Mr. Kabwebwe and others around 18hrs approached him and threatened to demolish the structures if they did not vacate.

Another property Owner Mr. George Kapamba explained that on Friday night around midnight, he received a phone call from one of his caretakers informing him that Mr. Tayali had visited his plot and had instructed some cadres to bring down the structure.

Mr. Kapamba who says he has lost house hold goods and other tools that were been used on the site amounting to K300, 000 revealed that he has legal documentation certifying him as the rightful owner of the said property and that when the case was taken to court, judgment was made in his favor.

Efforts to get a comment from Mr. Tayali proved futile as his phone went unanswered.

Political Threats

In 2022 people were crying that there is no opposition. 2023 the cry has changed to “there is no organized Opposition Party”. By the end of 2024 the cry will be a United Opposition. This is a natural course of five year political cycle if people are not happy. The issue is people not being happy.

1. The greatest threat to UPND is its members who are disappointed and abandoned. Those that campaigned tirelessly and were willing to die. They suffered and continue to suffer to date; yet everyday they are seeing those that did not suffer enjoy their fruits. Those will do you bad, just wait. The only way to bring such people back now is money, offering them employment will not work. Where are you going to get the money? This is how corruption starts to thrives.

2. The people that revolted against PF but don’t see any major difference from UPND, and these are many. By 2022 it was impossible to criticize the President and UPND to the masses. People and not politicians would ridicule us. 2023 people are crying for an organized opposition and those who criticize the government are now heros. Today if you support UPND you risk being accused of eating or not mentally okay.

3. The Socialist party are organized and seem to be well financed. The reason why they are a threat is people will come and look for anything they can use to throw at UPND. In a fight you look for any big stone you can find. The more people get disgruntled the more socialist because strong. Their weaknesses is that their voice is not yet that exciting.

4. ECL, any candidate he will endorse will have a major impact, especially if they are already carrying a popularity of their own. Former Presidents in Zambia are extremely important and influential during an election from time in memorial. I have avoided to mention PF.. whether the come back to power or not will not depend on them, it’s our people will react to UPND.

5. Civil servants, they get very little salaries and the cost of living is hurting them like no man’s business. You take home 3 500 and 2 bags of mealie meal for the family is costing you over 10% of your take home!

6. EFF is small and growing with a lot of potential. They are setting the political agenda for the nation because the audience are mostly young people. Young people control the national agenda .If EFF talks about Mining or corruption the entire nation gets on the topic without even acknowledging them. With resources EFF could become the biggest threat to turn young voters against the UPND. This is key.

7. The poor, the Marketeers, Street Vendors, Drivers, Gardeners, Maids and waitresses etc their cost of living is unbearable. Transport, food and electricity are too expensive in the minimum wage of 1500.00. They are already de-campaigning you, because they can access different people and communities. This is where farmers come in as well, the removal FISP will be a big problem.

8. Youth employment, these are tired of seeing their friends dancing and driving around when they can’t afford a proper shoe. The anger and disappointment will descend on the UPND by 2026. To them if they are not benefiting they won’t support. They just want a normal life.

9. Foreign relations, there will be a lot of money coming from China and Russia. I also see a lot of countries like Zimbabwe, Kenyan, and South Africa being extremely interested. This will be high dependent on how the opposition will be organised.

10. The last and least regionalism. They think they have sorted this but can’t graps what’s going on. With no plans or actions they “sorted” it out by just declaring.

In conclusion the UPND seem not to care what people think, they are neither offering explanations for what they are doing nor showing concern to the plight of the people. Basically the seem to have forgotten who holds them in office. They are so confident in with the stomachs that everything is okay to them and anyone crying is just an enemy. Let’s see how many enemies they will have

HICHILEMA HAS ORDERED MY ARREST- Fred M’membe

HICHILEMA HAS ORDERED MY ARREST

…stop the dangerous Koswe games; you’re President now

A few weeks ago, I guided Mr Hakainde Hichilema through an article headlined: “Confusion Reigns At The Defence Forces”. And below is the article:

Secretary to the Cabinet Mr Patrick Kangwa has appointed Mr Friday Nyambe, the Director General Office of the President Special Division, as chairman of the Central Joint Operations Committee (CJOC) with immediate effect.

The Duties of the President and Commander-in-Chief are never shared or delegated, not even to the Vice-President. It is only the President who has authority over matters of deployment of the Defence Forces and their officers. CJOC was a creation of the Zambia Army and Zambia Police. Never in the history of Zambia, or any other defence force in world, has this happened.

The CJOC in Zambia consists of the Chairman, the Vice-Chairman, the Secretary, and members from other government agencies with work related to fields of border protection and inland security.

The collective body of the CJOC is headed by the Chairman (or Vice-Chairman in the Chairman’s absence), who sets the agenda and presides over meetings.

Responsibilities for members of the CJOC are to take precedence over tasks of national security as a team. The Chairman of the CJOC is the Army Commander, the principal military adviser to the President, Ministry of Defence, and the Defence Council. However, all CJOC members are by law military advisers, and they may respond to a request or voluntarily submit, through the Chairman, advice or opinions to the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces.

The executive authority of the CJOC in Zambia has never changed. It is as designed the world over. In World War II, the United States Joint Chiefs of Staff acted as executive agents dealing with area commanders, but the original National Security Act of 1947 saw the Joint Chiefs of Staff as planners and advisers, not as commanders of combatant commands. In spite of this, the 1948 Key West Agreement allowed members of the Joint Chiefs of Staff to serve as executive agents for unified commands, a responsibility that allowed the executive agent to originate direct communication with the combatant command. Congress abolished this authority in a 1953 amendment to the National Security Act.

Today, the Joint Chiefs of Staff have no executive authority to command combatant forces. The issue of executive authority was clearly resolved by the Goldwater-Nichols DOD Reorganisation Act of 1986: “The Secretaries of the Military Departments shall assign all forces under their jurisdiction to unified and specified combatant commands to perform missions assigned to those commands.” The chain of command runs through the President to the commander of the combatant command.

In Zambia, the security system has a solid foundation dating as far back as the first and second Republics. Dr Kenneth Kaunda laid a very strong foundation, which has proved extremely effective in the absence of a unified command.

It is important to mention here, or educate Mr Hakainde Hichilema and his team, that powers vested in the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces and are for the President only. Mr Hakainde Hichilema should learn to consult from the elders before attempting to change traditions that have kept the Zambian nation together. National security instruments of power are never shared anywhere in the world. The Minister of Defence, the Minister of Home Affairs, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Defence and Secretary to the Cabinet, have no power to issue orders or instructions to the Defence Forces. When this happens, it marks the beginning of a downfall and break down of systems.

Disorganising the Zambia Defence Forces is a very serious weakness on the part of the Presidency. We advise Mr Hichilema to put his house in order and not to allow any person to abuse or take over his responsibility as Commander-in- Chief.

On July 26, 2023, Defence Minister Ambrose Lufuma said government had shifted the Chairmanship of the Central Joint Operations Committee which was headed by the Army Commander to another security wing. Mr Lufuma said the change in Chairmanship was because the country is faced with mild security challenges, which are mainly internal and can be best discharged by another security wing.
He said this is until the security dynamics change.

Mr Lufuma said the government had appointed Director General Special Division Friday Nyambe as Chairperson of the Central Joint Operations Committee and Lieutenant General Sitali Alibuzwi as Vice Chairperson for administrative convenience. And Mr LUFUMA said it is unfortunate that there was a leakage of the letter which was written to all concerned by the Secretary to the Cabinet. He however said those found behind the leakage of the letter will be dealt with by the law, as it violates the law of communication of certain information and protection of classified information. http://www.znbc.co.zm/…/changes-made-to-the-cjoc…/

On July 28, 2023, former defence minister, Davies Chama joined the discourse saying that the change in chairmanship for the defence Central Joint Operations Committee (CJOC) is unnecessary and only raises suspicion. http://diggers.news/…/change-of-chairmanship-for-cjoc…/

On July 29, 2023, PF presidential aspirant, Mr Emmanuel Mwamba chipped in with an article headlined: “President Hichilema and the Rogue Media at State House”. Find below Mr. Mwamba’s article in full:

Koswe, a known rogue media run by State House media team, has run dangerous and defamatory articles against the Zambia Army Commander, Lieutenant General Dennis Sitali Alibuzwi and Socialist Party President, Dr Fred M’membe, literally accusing them of treason and conspiracy.

Later, the Army Commander has been relegated to the position of Vice Chairperson of the Central Joint Operations Committee (CJOC), a highly irregular move.

Minister of Defence, Ambrose Lufuma said the Chairmanship of the CJOC has since been taken by Director General of the Zambia Security and Intelligence Services, Mr Friday Nyambe.

It is irrefutable that Koswe is run by State House and this has been publicly asserted by many, including those close to the team. The question is why does President Hakainde Hichilema allow this?

The rogue media defames, insults, abuses, and destroys lives of his own officials, relentlessly engages in character assassination of members of the Opposition and citizens, and this is done without remedial or recourse to the law.

Koswe instigates dismissals, prevents employment of successful candidates, incites arrests and encourages hate speech against Citizens.

Reporting Koswe to authorities is useless as both Police or ZICTA can never act against a State House entity.

No one has been spared from the character assasinations, lies and defamatory attacks including President Hichilema’s own Ministers, Permanent Secretaries and especially members of the Opposition.

When the online paper attacked and ran defamatory and dangerous allegations against State House Permanent Secretary Oliver Kalabo in December 2021, it had to take his own spouse and long-time senior member of the UPND media team, Jacqueline Saidi Chishimba to go to her Facebook page and call out and name the Koswe editors for them to stop the rot on her husband.

A few weeks ago, the rogue paper ran articles against Foreign Affairs Permanent Secretary, Chembo Mbula and it didn’t take long, he was quickly transferred!
That has been the case of many silent victims.

It is now clear that President Hichilema allows and feeds Koswe, using it and unleashing it as an attack and rabid dog against harpless Citizens.

President Hichilema is now the Republican President and he cannot allow the abuse of the law, and the abuse of citizens. It could have been excusable when he was in Opposition to run guerrilla journalism but he is now President, sworn to defend the Constitution and sworn to defend the rights of all citizens.

Mr President, Koswe, a monster you have been feeding, is now NOT even afraid to toy with Zambia’s national peace and security. For how do you allow the attacks on your own Army Commander and the subsequent changes you have since made? http://www.facebook.com/search/top?q=emmanuel%20mwamba

Above is the sequence of events of who said what and when. But throughout this period, Koswe, the discredited UPND guerilla channel, which is housed at State House, had been on the offensive splashing all manner of defamatory, seditious and inciting articles against persons like myself, including Mr Hichilema’s own appointed Army Commander, Lieutenant General Dennis Sitali Alibuzwi without remedial or recourse to the law.

However today, after all the lawlessness and highly seditious activities committed by the State House media team via the discredited Koswe, I have been reliably informed that Mr Hichilema has directed that I should be arrested and charged with serious charges under the State Security Act. The plan is to abuse law enforcement agencies and prescribe false charges against me so that I can be grounded politically for merely exercising my right to freedom of speech like everybody else who spoke on this matter.

But this won’t work, this country has got laws that are decent enough to shield us from jungle and tyrannical tendencies Mr Hichilema and his far- right UPND government are shamelessly exhibiting. If people are sensible, responsible and objective, they will realise that I have not committed any offence. In fact, if there is anyone deserving to be charged and arrested for various serious offenses, its Mr Hichilema’s media team at State House because they carelessly turned an noble discourse of public interest into a state security matter.

Clearly, the indiscipline and unrestrained manner Mr Hichilema’s media team are going about in spreading hate speech, character assassination, lies and seditious attacks on the leaders and citizens of this country is most unfortunate and very dangerous. And one day, both Mr Hichilema and his attack dogs will regret ever taking such a highly polarising and dangerous path. They may abuse ZICTA, the police and other law enforcement agencies today but they should not forget that power is transitory and the Zambian people are not stupid, they know what is happening, and who is behind all this. And at the right time, decisions will be made based on the knowledge they kept close to their chests all this while because this is not the way to govern a country.

Mr Hichilema must show leadership and stop the highly reckless and dangerous Koswe and dog games. If it worked in opposition, it can no longer work anymore because that project has passed its shelf life – its discredited and its discrediting his presidency too. But we are ready for them, we didn’t sign up to fail in our quest to protect our country’s mineral resources and national wealth from the jaws of transnational corporations and imperialist puppets. Let them know that whatever we do, we do it for our people and we are ready to pay the price!

Kelvin Sampa Is Nothing But A Problem And UPND Will One Day Remember Me- Chilufya Tayali

EEP President Chilufya Tayali

KELVIN SAMPA IS NOTHING BUT A PROBLEM AND UPND WILL ONE DAY REMEMBER ME

Only a person with a shallow mind would think Kelvin Sampa is in UPND because he believes in the party or President Hichilema, the guy believes in eating. It’s all about survival.

To start with, Kelvin has had issues with a number of people who have been dragging him to police and courts, such that, if he was speaking against the UPND as he is doing against PF and ECL, they would have nabbed him, nga Lunshi wa Green (like a green housefly). So to avoid jail, he recruited himself as “Fake Praise singer”.

Further, Kelvin has to survive, but what legitimate business is this guy doing to even boast that he is financing UPND. Where is he getting the money to finance UPND?

You may not know, but I want to tell you that, he is doing his illicit activities using the party (UPND) like he has done in the past. He has done it with all previous Govts, this is who he is.

While the UPND has brought this policy of citizens forming cooperatives and taking advantage of our natural resources to empower themselves, Kelvin is manipulating and depriving them of the opportunities for his benefits.

I challenge Kelvin Sampa to explain what he is doing in Chief Bunda-Bunda of the Soli Shamwifi Royal Establishment. This is just an example, but he is everywhere, to mint.

People have formed cooperatives and applied for mining license, with the consent of the Chiefs, yet Kelvin wants to sideline the locals to bring in a company (VEROS). If I am lying let him deny this.

I hate it when Zambians are taken advantage of, or sidelined by these unscrupulous briefcase businessmen claiming to be the financiers of the UPND.

I warn UPND, to be careful with Kelvin, he is just using you and when you are out of power, he will jump to the next ruling party like a prostitute.

Next I will talk about this Trust Hantuba and this Mr. Mango from Cadastre, people are complaining about you.

I will be live at 20:00hrs

CONSORTIUM OF CSOs TO ENGAGE HH….. over delayed handover of KCM to Vedanta as well as finding partner to run Mopani Copper Mine

CONSORTIUM OF CSOs TO ENGAGE HH

….. over delayed handover of KCM to Vedanta as well as finding partner to run Mopani Copper Mine

Lusaka…Tuesday August 1, 2023 (SMART EAGLES)

A consortium of Civil Society Organizations championing the revamping of the mining industry says it will engage President Hakainde Hichilema over the future of Konkola Copper Mine (KCM) and Mopani Copper Mines.

The consortium says it is disappointed that the Minister of Mines and Minerals Development Hon Paul Kabuswe has lamentably failed to deal with issues at KCM and Mopani mine.

Advocates for National Development and Democracy Executive Director Samuel Banda has told journalists in Lusaka that President Hakainde Hichilema has the strong capacity in proficient negotiation skills to expedite the process and ensure that these issues and challenges in the mining sector are resolved.

“Therefore, due to the minister’s failure to unlock KCM and Mopani mines, we have remained with no choice but to engage our Republican President Hakainde Hichilema on the 12th August, 2023. We are hopeful and we have the confidence that President Hichilema will resolve these issue once and for all. We shall protest on the 12th of August, we shall match to State House and we assure the nation that it will be a peaceful protest and will be done within the confines of the law,” said Mr Banda.

“Honourable Paul Kabuswe should avoid embarrassing our president by failing to conclude negotiations with prospective investors on time in the interest of revamping the mining sector and making it viable. We know that government has the capacity to expedite the process and we don’t expect further delay to handle these issues. We want to inform our stakeholders, our members on the Copperbelt and members of the consortium to start preparing themselves on the 12th August, 2023 we shall match to State House.”

He said the consortium was shocked that government has continued to delay to resolve issues surrounding Mopani and KCM despite the extremely harsh economic challenges as a result of the non functionality of the two strategic assets.

“You may recall that on 14 July 2023, the Minister of Mines indicated to the public that only one issue was remaining to conclude negotiations with Vedanta Resources and that by month end of July, that main issue will be resolved and government will make an official announcement over the Vedanta taking over the operations of Konkola Copper Mine (KCM) and equally the investor expected to take over the operations of Mopani Copper Mines,” he recalled.

“However, getting a different statement from the Minister of Mines yesterday, indicating that government has not yet concluded negotiations is very disappointing to the people of Zambia and to President Hakainde Hichilema who has entrusted his Minister of Mines and Minerals Development to manage a very important government ministry competently, effectively and efficiently.”

Speaking at the same media briefing, Zambians for Unity Peace and Development President Ronnie Jere disagreed with Hon Kabuswe’s assertions that the people of Zambia are being considered in making decisions for both KCM and Mopani mines.

“The reason being, how can it be in the interest of the Zambian people when a lot of Zambians are wallowing in abject poverty, a lot of former miners who were working for Mopani Copper Mine and KCM have not been paid their dues? How can it be in the interest of Zambians when suppliers have not been given their monies? The mining industry is still locked up in those two strategic Mines and you are still saying it’s in the interest of Zambian people? Which Zambian people are you talking about?” he questioned.

“We want to categorically state that we do feel that this delay is as a result of incompetence, secondly is as a result of wanting to continue benefiting because a few people could be benefiting in the current state of Mopani and KCM mines. Whose interest is it when KCM at the moment, we just heard on news that one of the smelters has been shut down because of lack of service. We have people that are ready to put in money and run the mines optimally and yet we are still delaying. You can say that all this time you are still negotiating.”

Mr. Jere wondered why one issue that Hon Kabuswe mentioned that was remaining has taken almost a month to resolve.

“We do feel that they are dragging their time to make sure that these mines don’t function because they feel that if investors come in to take up these mines those people that are benefiting will not benefit,” he concluded.

He said these Mines should start functioning as soon as possible.

Abductors appeal lengthy sentences saying judge was wrong and emotional

Abductors appeal lengthy sentences saying judge was wrong and emotional

AFTER serving only 30 days of their 650 years in jail, the two abductors of the 13 Lusaka women are seeking to overturn their lengthy sentences.

The cheeky criminals say the court was emotional when it graciously handed them 650 years each for rape plus life imprisonment for a long list of other charges including abduction, aggravated assault with intent steal, abduction of a child and asault occasioning actual bodily harm and causing harm.

Between March and October 2022, James Bwalya and Mathews Sikaonga abducted 13 young women including student nurses and mobile money agents whom they held captive in a house in Chalala.

The victims who included a pregnant woman and her child were repeatedly raped, assaulted by the duo who were demanding a ransom from their relatives as a condition of release.

The duos dark party was brought to an end by police operation in October resulting in the rescue of 13 traumatised and starving victims.

After spending a few hours on the run, Bwalya and Sikaonga were captured in Kaoma and eventually slapped with 54 charges.

After playing several delaying tactics, the duo of Mathews Sikaonga and James Bwalya eventually pleaded guilty to the charges but pleaded for mercy saying they committed the crimes for fun without realising they were committing serious offenses.

The two asked for a rehabilitative sentence and not a custodial sentence because they regretted their actions.

In his judgement, on July 29, 2023 High Court judge Charles Kafunda pronounced a sentence that would ensure the charcoal dark souls of the two young criminals remain behind bars for the rest their lives.

Judge kafunda said Bwalya and Sikaonga did not deserve a rehabilitative or reduced sentence, because their explanation that they committed 54 offences against humanity for fun showed lack of empathy for their captives.

He ruled that youthfulness by itself does not justify a lesser sentence as there ought to be a link between circumstances of the offender being youthful and their conduct in commiting the offence.

Judge Kafunda said the crimes committed by the young malevolent lads do not bear characteristics of commonness or associated with bad behavior, but crimes that were well calculated and executed.

The sentences were handed down accordingly; Attempted abduction five years, abduction of a child five years, aggravated assault with intent to steal 15 years, abduction five years, rape 50 years, assault three years, causing grevious harm five years years.

The said sentences will be served concurrently

“I have omitted to hand sentences in respects two victims (the pregnant woman and her child) because they were subjected to excess violence and cruelty they were singled out for brutality because they came from a comfortable background,” judge Kafunda said.

He indicated that the first victim of captivity was pregnant and raped in the presence of her three -year- old child and Bwalya and Sikaonga continued to have forced and violent sexual intercourse with her thereby risking her life and that of her unborn child.

Judge Kafunda said due to the barbarity that the pregnant woman experienced, he would sentence Bwalya and Sikaonga to 20 years imprisonment with hard labour for aggravated assault, life imprisonment for rape, abduction five years assault five years, aggravated assault 20 years, causing grevious harm seven years.

He said the sentences for attempted abduction and abduction of a child will run consecutively.

However the convicts have challenged their jail time which they will serve even in their death, on four grounds of appeal.

They argued that judge Kafunda erred in law and facts to have sentenced them to life imprisonment based on the evidence on record when they had readily pleaded guilty to the charges.

The two said the trial court erred in law and fact to have ignored the principal of sentencing established in Zambia such as the nature and intrinsic value of the matter involved, their history and character, their youthfulness at the time of committing the offence, the prevalence of the offence they were convicted for and them being the first offenders who had admitted the charge.

“By confining itself to the South African jurisdiction whose society character, behavior and levels of criminality are different thereby imposing sentences reflecting the South African jurisdiction rather than the Zambian community hence forth the sentences be received by the court with a sense of shock,”they said.

They claimed the Court was emotional when it considered a sentence to impose on them by demeaning their plea that the atrocities committed were just a game and not a serious offence.

“The Court should receive all the sentences with a sense of shock as the trial judge was emotional on several instances when delivering a ruling on the imposition of sentences and rendered the appellants an injustice,”said Bwalya and Sikaonga.

“The trial Court erred in both law and fact for not being consistent with the pattern of sentences on similar cases the appellants have been sentenced and the Court of Appeal should receive the sentences with a sense of shock.”

It is very difficult to understand why most Zambians are poor -Fr. Mupula

0

Kitwe Catholic Priest Fr. Patrick Mupula believes Zambia has failed to utilise its mineral resources for its own good.

In his Sunday sermon, Fr. Mupula of Chamboli Catholic Church, said minerals that include emerald, gold, mercury, Sugilite and copper among others are not being utilised to benefit the people of Zambia.

He charged that instead of uncovering these treasures through mineral exploration, Zambians have opted to call foreigners to come and see the value of their minerals.

Fr. Mupula said foreigners benefit more from local minerals at the expense of the locals.

“Which buried treasure are you searching for? In Zambia God has given us a lot of treasures such as Emerald in Lufwanyama, the Kasenseli Gold in Mwinilunga, Sugilite in Mpika, Gold in Luano Valley, Mercury in the North Western Province, Copper, vegetation, water bodies among others. Unfortunately, we have failed to utilise them for our own good. Instead of uncovering these treasures through mineral exploration, we have opted to call foreigners to come and see the value of what we have and we give them permission to get what belongs to us,” he preached.

“It is outsiders who keep enjoying what belongs to the common man in Kandabwe, Buchi – Kamitondo, Chamboli! Why should we borrow money as a country when we can only sell what we have and generate income? It is very difficult to understand why most Zambians are poor when God has given us everything we need to be better. Where did we go wrong as a country? Efyo twalufyanya kuli Lesa Finshi? Look at how dilapidated the road from Kalumbila to Ikelenge is – this is the place which is very rich in minerals. Look at how dilapidated the Mufulira – Mokambo – Pedicle road is. Look at the Ndola – Mufulira road,” Fr. Mupula said.

He urged Zambians to appreciate and utilise the treasures God has given them.

“Look at how dilapidated some fridges at Kitwe Teaching Hospital Mortuary are. Besides, when was the last Kitwe Teaching Hospital painted? Enter the hospital and get the bad smell. You will die not of malaria but the bad stench.Where did we go wrong as a country? Efyo twalufyanya kuli Lesa Finshi? Look at the price of Mealie Meal now; what is it able to afford? In all this it is the common man in Buchi-Kamitonda to face consequences. And when our political leaders go to China, the US and other countries, they never learn anything. They go there to take pictures to post on WhatsApp and Facebook,” he added.

Fr. Mupula concluded:”The Gospel today is inviting us to appreciate the treasures God has given us and make use of them. And we are told that the treasure is hidden, it is never common. And we are told that the treasure is hidden, it is never common. In life refuse to be too common. Umukashana talingile ukuba common. People have to fight to see you, find you, and get you. But it is in Kitwe where we see some ladies who are way too common. Sure, umwanakashi ukulanwa Kombucha, Black Label? You find umuntu, ku bar eko ali, ku Nkana uko baletukana, eko ali, ifililo fyonse kulyapo ubwali, avoid being too common. A treasure is always hidden.”

Police probe Zimbabwe Electoral Commission HQ break-in

THERE are fears that the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (Zec) might have lost critical information following a break-in at its Mahachi Quantum Building headquarters in Harare, an incident that has added a new twist to the controversy surrounding the August 23 elections.

Zec lost three laptops belonging to chief elections officer Utloile Silaigwana and his secretary Isabel Mariwowo after suspected robbers broke into the heavily-guarded offices in the capital’s central business district on Sunday night.

Zec deputy chairperson Rodney Kiwa yesterday said he could not comment on whether or not there was sensitive information in the stolen laptops.

“I can confirm that there was a break-in at Zec and the matter is under investigation,” Kiwa said.

“At this moment, I can’t talk more because the matter is still under investigation.

“Once we have an update from the police, Zec will release a statement to the public.”

The police said they were investigating the alleged break-in.

“The Zimbabwe Republic Police confirms that it has received a report of an alleged break-in at Zimbabwe Electoral Commission offices,” police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi told NewsDay.

“Investigations are now underway. More details to be released in due course.”

Zimbabwe Election Support Network chairperson Andrew Makoni said the break-in at Zec was worrisome.

“This is a very worrisome development, especially as we are a few days before the general elections voting day,” Makoni said.

“Zec, as an electoral body, should have tight security so for there to have a break-in in just a blink, it is an issue of concern.

“Zec has not indicated the type of information that was in the laptops, so I would not comment on the implications of the break-in.”

Zanu PF national spokesperson Christopher Mutsvangwa refused to comment on the matter.

“The ZRP could be doing their investigations,” Mutsvangwa said.

“I do not want to prejudice their professional work.”

According to reports, two of the laptops belonged to Silaigwana, while the third was assigned to Mariwowo.

Mariwowo is said to have discovered the break-in and theft when she turned up for work and observed that her electrical appliances were off.

A police memo indicated that Mariwowo also discovered that an adaptor was missing form her office.

She allegedly discovered that her Dell laptop was missing, and in Silaigwana’s office, an HP Pro Book and Mac Book Pro had also been stolen.

“The south facing window for Silaigwana’s office was broken with a stone, which was on the floor,” the memo read.

Zec is saddled with more 100 legal challenges that are affecting its preparations for the August 23 harmonised elections.

Kiwa recently told election observers that Zec has a constitutional duty to design, manufacture and distribute ballot papers, but the process was stalled owing to ongoing legal challenges.

He said Zec’s hands were “tied” and that it would have to “live with that” until the legal processes were concluded.

Kiwa also said the legal challenges had implications on the issuance of the voters roll.

The credibility of the elections is already in doubt following the disqualification of opponents of the ruling Zanu PF party, including its former commissar Saviour Kasukuwere who wanted to challenge President Emmerson Mnangagwa for the presidency as an independent candidate.

Gay couple file complaint against Christian painter who ‘refused to decorate their home because of their sexuality’

A British gay couple has made a complaint against a Christian painter who refused to decorate their home because of their sexuality.

Joshua and George shared a photo on Twitter that appears to show a message sent by a female painter which says that she could not carry out the job at their two-bedroom terrace home in Bristol because of her church’s ‘recommended guidelines’.

The pair, who have taken the decision not to identify the painter, say they were left ‘gobsmacked’ and ‘seething’ by the message. They say they have now made a complaint to the trading website where they found her services, which they say they hope will raise awareness about homophobia.

The case comes after a customer lost a seven-year legal fight with a bakery run by evangelical Christians in Northern Ireland which refused to make a cake with the slogan ‘support gay marriage’.

Explaining why they are not naming the painter, Joshua, 23, told LGBTQ magazine Attitude: ‘I don’t necessarily feel comfortable holding the doors and opening the floodgates. I have this person’s details. If I wanted to, yes, I could release them.

‘But to be honest, something that I’m conscious of is, I don’t want to be really the facilitator in what is now thousands of people who could potentially go to this individual. That individual as much as we don’t respect her does not deserve to be piled on.’

Joshua and his partner, 26, wanted their bedroom painted at the home which they bought in June last year. After finding the decorator online, Joshua asked her round for a quote but claims to have noticed her attitude change when he mentioned George.

‘We were in the master bedroom when she asked if my partner was in and I replied ‘No he’s not’ that I first thought something was wrong,’ he told ITV News.

The woman is then said to have left the property and sent the message hours later, which Joshua shared on Twitter last week. Alongside a screenshot of the text, he wrote: ‘Just another day in the life of a practising homo – a tradesperson outright refusing to do some painting/decorating because of my sexuality.’

The couple have not responded to the decorator but have complained to the website which she was advertised on.

Joshua said they did not ask for anything political, such as painting a pride rainbow, adding: ‘We just wanted a normal, boring paint job.’

Finance Minister clarifies errors in CDF supplementary budget

0

Minister of Finance and National Planning Situmbeko Musokotwane has clarified on the recent events surrounding the alleged errors in the 11.3 billion kwacha supplementary budget, which was unanimously passed by Parliament last week Friday.

Dr. Musokotwane has explained that the case of the K298 million supplementary budget was a provision for only one component of the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) which is under Community Projects and not the entire CDF projects.

Dr. Musokotwane stated that a total sum of about K4.4 billion was allocated to CDF, for all its three components, which are Community Projects, Youth, Women and Community Empowerment, and Secondary Boarding School and Skills Development Bursaries.

Speaking at a press briefing in Lusaka, regarding the issue that arose from parliament and now to the general public, Dr. Musokotwane revealed that the Community Projects components had a provision of about 2.7 billion kwacha, of which the 298 million kwacha was added.

He said this was out of the remaining funds from the provision for community projects for last year which was not utilized, attributing it to slowness in the absorption of CDF.

He noted that instead of recalling the money to the treasury, a decision was arrived at to push it back to community projects in each constituency under community projects for this year.

The Minister hoped to restore public confidence in government planning, referring to the issue as a case of mere misinterpretation and not an indication of inaccuracies in the budget.

“We are supplementing more money to the 2023 budget to the extent of K298 249 818 million only under community projects, the money being a carryover from last year’s CDF budget under the community projects component of the CDF,” Dr. Musokotwane clarified.

And the Minister noted that the government is in a hurry to push development to all parts of the country through the successful implementation of the CDF.

He noted that following measures to identify the challenges associated with implementation of CDF, the government is putting in place various initiatives to streamline the implementation of CDF projects so that the development gap between rural and urban areas is bridged.

Dr. Musokotwane was displeased with the low utilization of funds, due to issues of legal provisions, delays in approvals and also the negative attitude by some council employees.

Not a crime for Lungu to continue as party president – Lusambo

Not a crime for Lungu to continue as party president – Lusambo

FORMER president’s staunch supporter, Bowman Lusambo, says it is not a crime for PF members to push for Edgar Lungu’s continuation as the party’s president.

Amid reports of brewing chaos within the former ruling party, it was revealed that Edgar Lungu has agreed in secret to be the party’s presidential candidate for the 2026 elections.

According to PF insiders, Lungu secretly agreed to be the party’s presidential candidates in the next generation elections after he was convinced by his associates of still being a popular figure who could easily win an election.

Lungu and his clique are now being accused of using every trick in the book to prevent an elective General Conference to replace him as party president.

Lusambo, Lungu’s self acclaimed number one bootlicker, fervently defended the former president’s position, stating that many PF members desire “the humble leader” to steer the party’s course and salvage the sunken ‘titanic’ during the challenging times they are facing.

The former Kabushi member of parliament said Lungu was not negotiating his chairmanship over PF as he is still captain of the boat.

“We are drawing near 2026 and we will hear alot of accusations, a lot of statements coming from different quarters of society. Politics is about the people it’s not about individuals. Let the people talk! the issue to do with Edgar Chagwa Lungu it’s a non-negotiable issue,” Lusambo said.

“Lungu is a president of PF he was elected as the president of PF in 2021 prior to the 2021 tripartite elections. So, the issue of saying president Edgar Chagwa Lungu is coming back, he’s coming back from where? He’s coming back from where? Because he has been the president of PF.”

He said Lungu will only pass on the leadership mantle to his successor if he so wishes at the much-anticipated extraordinary general conference which is being planned by the party.

The ‘bulldozer’ brushed off assertions that there’s a pitched battle in PF over the presidency.

He said the 1.8 million camp is still banded together.

“PF is a very strong party. PF has structures in all the 156 constituencies. There’s no confusion in PF we have a leader we have a president, the deputy president, secretary general and all the members of the central committee are there. There’s no confusion go and tell the people there’s no confusion. Iyi ni bola (this is just like a game of football),” Lusambo said.

He said it is not wrong for Lungu to be enthusiastic about politics.

“What about if we want him? us as the members of the PF we want him to continue it’s not a crime! He’s a human being like any other person, he’s enjoying the human rights it’s not a crime for him to continue it’s not a crime,” Lusambo said.

“He was a president for this republic and for us we are happy that he’s still the president of the party, so it’s not a crime he’s not coming back from anywhere. He has been the president and he’s still the president.”

He maintained that Lungu did not relinquish his position as president of the PF.

The former Lusaka province minister indicated he and other apple polishers of Lungu will not accept it if their boss steps aside from the PF presidency.

Lusambo wondered why Lungu is being rebuked over his political enthusiasm when it’s the people on the streets crying that they want him back.

“Why do you want to accuse him of something he has not said? People are the ones saying ‘alebwelelapo’ (he will retain power) did he say he wants to come back?” he questioned.

“He’s a president yes of the party but did he tell you he wants to come back? But if we tell him to come back, he is the one we want, he can do so.”

Lungu’s number one idoliser disclosed that the PF clings to their boss Edgar because he cares and provides for his partisans.

“Leave him alone what I can assure you is president Lungu is the president of PF. Who wouldn’t want Lungu? Everyone wants Lungu even those who have applied to replace him would want him, he’s a father he’s a parent. Wouldn’t you want to be closer to your father? So even us, we want to be close to our father,” he said.

Hichilema Must Honour His Promise To Police Officers- Fred M’membe

HICHILEMA MUST HONOUR HIS PROMISE TO POLICE OFFICERS

The Zambia Police command yesterday issued a statement denouncing me for urging Mr Hakainde Hichilema to urgently improve remuneration and conditions of service for police officers and staff.

They belittled me in all sorts of ways and tried to cheapen my well-intentioned message with utmost disrespect. Without a doubt, their statement was ill-advised, uncouth and unethical. But I am not surprised, because only UPND police officers under the direct command of Mr Hichilema’s trusted lieutenant, the deputy Inspector General of Police in-charge of State House, Mr Fanwell Siandenge, can behave in this improper manner. True and patriotic Zambia Police officers cannot be opposed to what I said and, worse still, be so disrespectful to a leader of a legally registered political party.

In fact, the unprofessional and politically charged language in the statement reveals the desperation and extent to which Mr Hichilema and his far-right UPND government are willing to go in belittling the effort of our hardworking men and women in the police service. And one wonders how my decent call for improved livelihoods for fellow citizens who are dedicated to national service can attract so much hate, anger and disrespect from the Zambia Police command. It is unprecedented!

The reaction from the Zambia Police command is telling. And going by their reaction, it is clear that the Zambia Police command are not interested in improving the welfare of police officers and staff. They want to be eating and living well alone, which is typical gluttonous behaviour of bad and selfish superiors. Nonetheless, I want to make it very clear to the Zambia Police command that no amount of uncouth, emotionally charged and unwise statements written and imposed on them to undersign by discredited UPND guerrilla channels will discourage my resolve to stand up and speak for the suffering majority of this country, regardless of their status in society.

What I said was not new. And there is absolutely nothing wrong with me calling for better remuneration and conditions of service for police officers and the civil service in general. If people are sincere, they will admit that I am not the first opposition political party leader to make this demand and promise for better wages. Mr Michael Chilufya Sata (MHSRIP) when in opposition said and promised the same things to police officers and staff. As a matter of fact, Mr Sata delivered on his promise by reviewing police and civil servants’ salaries as soon as he was in government in 2011. Nobody from the police command of that time denounced him or called him names.

Equally, Mr Hichilema did the same thing on June 6, 2021 as an opposition leader. In fact, Mr Hichilema went even further, drawing a comparison between salaries for Zambian and South African civil servants, miners, doctors and so on. And no one from the police command at that time denounced him or called him names. However, Mr Hichilema has not delivered to the police officers and staff what he promised them on June 6, 2021.

What is an opposition political party there for? To do just as I have done and what Mr Sata and Mr Hichilema did as opposition leaders. It requires a little intelligence – if a little is all one has – to realise that I have done nothing wrong to deserve such denunciation and disrespect from the police command. Why are Zambia Police command in such a hurry to display their ignorance? The Zambia Police command should be ashamed of their irresponsible statement because such recklessness has the potential to degrade and spoil well-established police service systems and decorum.

And why should the police command be against someone urging the government to improve the conditions of service for police officers and staff? Is it because the police command are better looked after by Mr Hichilema, and are happy?

This is what happens when professionalism, values, and principles are lost or are sacrificed on the altar of political or career expediency. There is no need for this misplaced and childlike zeal and excitement from the Zambia Police command.

As an essential part of our state security apparatus, the police command are expected to be non-partisan and to defend the Constitution, as well as the interests of police officers and staff under their command. So let the police command sober up and preside over the affairs of our police service with maturity and impartiality. This exaggerated zeal and partisanship being displayed is totally unnecessary, especially when one is serving under a directionless, unstable, and one-term government like this one.

I still urge Mr Hichilema to honour his election promise to police officers and staff. If he doesn’t, they shouldn’t worry too much because 2026 is not very far away. Their Socialist Government will come and give them a sense of dignity.

Let the Zambia Police command know that we voice out on issues that are topical and emanate from our leadership and party structures countrywide. This issue arose in response to the frequent appeals and complaints our party leadership and structures countrywide have received regarding this matter, which is long overdue. And it is not in dispute that the Socialist Party support base within the police and the entire civil service is growing exponentially, so this government can only ignore us at its own peril.

You Preside Over The National Assembly Not The UPND National Management Committee, Be Professional- Lifwekelo To Nelly Muti

YOU PRESIDE OVER THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY NOT THE UPND NATIONAL MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE, BE PROFESSIONAL- LIFWEKELO TO NELLY MUTI.

31st, July 2023. Lusaka

The Acquittal of our Patriotic Front party Vice President Hon. Given Lubinda by the Lusaka Magistrate court judge Trevor Kasanda is an indictment on the credibility of Nelly Muti and all those presiding over the current session of parliament .

Parliament like other institutions such as the judiciary, anti corruption commission, the zambia police service now known for its brutality and methods of torture, ECZ and Auditor General’s office are being weaponised by the UPND government to frustrate and weaken opposition political parties by sustaining such draconian presiding officers.

It is our strongly considered view that Hon Lubinda should not have been arrested in the first place,it was a lack of judgement on the part of Ms Nelly Muti to summon Hon Lubinda to appear before parliament to answer to frivolous innuendos.

There must be something extremely wrong with the manner in which business of the house is being conducted as it is in most cases characterised largely by protests , suspensions and walk outs by opposition MPs a clear sign of the mutilation of democratic space by the UPND regime through its speaker Nelly Muti.

Zambians were promised adherence to the rule of law, justice and protection of their rights instead the opposite is the reality on the ground with rampant detentions of political opponents being the order of the day.

There is urgent need for Nelly Muti and her cohorts presiding over parliament to remain neutral, non partisan and exhibit high levels of professionalism and Maturity in their discharge of official duty.

The integrity and Credibility of Parliament lies squarely on the impartiality of the presiding officers and any lack of it erodes the much needed credibility of Parliament as an oversight institution.

We therefore warn parliamentary presiding overs against any departure from acceptable procedure as it will have far reaching consequences too ghastly for them to contemplate.

We also send a timely reminder to Nelly Muti and her friends at the parliamentary high table that they are presiding over the National Assembly of Zambia and not some cheap UPND National Management Committee of Hooligans and non law abiding individuals who should be tamed.

We therefore re-echo the views of prominent lawyer and former Eastern Province Minister Hon Makebi Zulu who warned UPND against ruling the country and Zambians like some cult.

We therefore thank the Judiciary for the way they expeditiously dealt with the matter involving Hon Given Lubinda leading to his rightful acquittal sending a clear signal to Nelly Muti and her lot that they are not above the law just because they preside over parliament.

HICHILEMA: ZAMBIA’S FIRST PUPPET PRESIDENT- Fred M’membe

HICHILEMA: ZAMBIA’S FIRST PUPPET PRESIDENT

No sooner had the Russia-Africa summit concluded in St Petersburg than Mr Hakainde Hichilema lifted off for a state visit to Israel.

Well, we have absolutely no problem with Mr Hichilema’s visit to Israel but what is of great concern and humiliation to this nation and its citizens is the net of puppetry and selling out this presidency is inextricably intertwined with. Mr Hichilema’s betrayal of our national pride, identity, and longstanding diplomatic traditions and principles for reasons of expedience is one of the biggest political shames in the foreign relations history of this nation.

So, this is a leader who cowardly prefers to grip firmly to his seat at home while fellow African leaders without bias actively participate in a critical global summit that would model the future of our continent’s development and foreign relations. What kind of puppet leadership is this? We ask a question to people within the UPND who think our observations on these matters are driven by malice and mischief; with such elementary diplomatic miscalculations, how does one describe Mr Hichilema’s ignorant and irrational handling of foreign relations matters?

Isn’t this outright puppet leadership? Well, they can argue all they want, but the writing on the wall is clear, Mr Hichilema is a sell-out and a puppet of the West. For the first time in our history, Zambia has a leader who has been captured by transnational corporations and global imperialists. Zambians must know that Mr Hichilema is not only a front, but also an instrument of Western special interests. And one does not even need to go far to ascertain the scope of the capture around this particular presidency because the current occupant is so good at reading neocolonialist scripts and projecting an easygoing and excessively friendly attitude towards the discriminatory interests of the West and transnational corporations.

The issue of the Western Sahara corroborates Mr Hichilema’s puppetry stance. The United States government reached an agreement with Morocco for the country to recognise Israel and for the US in return to support Morocco’s colonisation of Western Sahara. And, as expected, the far-right UPND government of Mr Hichilema has also in turn recognised Morocco’s colonisation of Western Sahara. Where does Zambia’s traditional support for the Palestinian cause against Israeli apartheid stand today?

This is a total departure from the non-aligned stance Zambia has taken since its independence. How can it be that Zambia, a country with a very rich liberation struggle support history, is among the evil forces supporting colonialism in the 21st century?

On top of that, like all puppets of the West, a closer look at Mr Hichilema’s governance style reveals a deep reputation for intellectual laziness, diplomatic spinelessness and a severe addiction for state power by just playing the role of President rather than enthusiastically shaping the nation’s development agenda as well as corroborating and developing consensus with fellow African leaders to establish an independent and dignified direction and vision for the future of our nation and our continent in general.

Our painful truth to the Zambian voters who braved those meandering queues in the August 2021 general election to elect Mr Hichilema is that the man they voted for is not in command of this nation and its involvement in global affairs. Mr Hichilema is functioning on the end of a string held by his puppet masters in Washington, South Africa, and other imperialist capitals. That is why even his diplomatic travels and manoeuvres can only go as far as his puppet masters or foreign handlers are willing to stretch out the string that is yoking him.

And we genuinely feel sorry for Mr Hichilema because clearly, he underestimated the after-effects of the imperialist links and covenants he entered into when seeking office. But then, what is even worse is Mr Hichilema’s lack of awareness of how he is being used and the repercussions of this for our national sovereignty, security and development interests.

We cannot have a leader whose supervisory competence and decision-making are solely tied to the agenda of the string pullers even when that agenda is unmistakably in conflict with our national values and interests.

Here is an example of how far he is willing to carry out the wishes of the imperialists and their institutions. Mr Hichilema was commanded by the IMF to phase out subsidies on maize production. Expensive maize production will mean expensive mealie meal – a staple, which is not just food, but sits at the heart of our culture as Zambians. But he did not think of the people and willingly obeyed the wishes of the IMF, putting the price of mealie meal beyond the reach of the people who depend on it. To take mealie meal out of the reach of a Zambian is no different to being ordered to point a gun at their head.

A leader who is willing to listen to the West to the extent of harming his own people is dangerous for the country. This is an all-time low for this nation and its leadership. Ba Zambia mwali yi gong’a! We need to correct this mistake.

There Were Hardships Even During PF But Citizens Could Afford 2 Meals A Day – Former PF SG Davies Mwila

THERE WERE HARDSHIPS EVEN DURING PF BUT CITIZENS COULD AFFORD 2 MEALS A DAY – FORMER PF SG MWILA

FORMER PF secretary general Davies Mwila says although people were facing hardships even during PF’s time, they were at least able to afford mealie meal and have two meals a day.

In an interview, Mwila said mealie meal was fetching between K110 and K115 when PF was in government, but the price has now doubled.

“People must compare with PF and UPND. When we were in government, mealie was at K110 to K115. They said as PF we failed to govern and lead the Zambians and that they would reduce the price of mealie meal to K50 and fertiliser from K900 to K250. On fuel, they used to tell us that we’re stealing K3 from the people. They are now in government and the price of mealie meal has doubled. Everything has gone up. So the question is who is better?

The one who was selling mealie meal at K115 or K250? Those are comparisons people are making. Even in PF, there were hardships but now, it is worse. People were able to buy mealie meal and have maybe lunch and supper. But this time, they can’t have two meals in a day. It’s not possible,” he said.

“It’s now two years but they’ve never done any road in Zambia. Look at the roads, hospitals we built. They have not built not even one hospital or roads. Those are the things that people must compare. We are far much better than the UPND government. There’s no other alternative (opposition). That’s why people are crying for PF. People are crying for PF wherever you go. They want PF because they thought by going to vote at 05:00 hours and voting us out, [it] will help them. It hasn’t helped them. They are regretting.

All university graduates are regretting and they are saying they’ll never wake up to vote at 05:00 hours again. So 2026 will be a different ball game altogether”.

Meanwhile, commenting on President Hakainde Hichilema’s call for Zambians to continue working hard, Mwila said citizens will only appreciate the President’s hard work if results start showing.

“Work hard? But is he working hard himself? He has the right to tell the people of Zambia to have to work hard but he has to lead by example. What results are there to see? You can work but if there are no results, it is as well that [he] stays home.

Things are bad in terms of the living standards of our people. The President and government must intervene quickly. Otherwise, where we are heading to, it will not be good for the Zambian people. The prices of all the commodities are going up, especially mealie meal. A bag of mealie meal is running to K300. So the people of Zambia are complaining because of the high price of essential commodities. So the President must work hard,” said Mwila.

“You work hard and there are no results. So what does that mean? You have to work hard and people must see results. If you work hard without results, people won’t appreciate you. So whatever the President says, if things can’t change, they won’t appreciate him. He can go on holiday to work and people will see it as normal”.

CK HAS STOPPED HUNTING TO BECOME PRESIDENT OF THE PF ORGANISATION WHAT HAS HUMBLED HIM ? …***

By Stembridge Sikalundu

A mafia orgsnisation has rules to follow when you return to the gang after revealing the issues at the core of danger and management. Oh when did CK have any better ideas of governing this country ? ,let the party he is seeking to become president identify him to be one of such caliber , instead of ranting at his houses , today he is in luanshya the other day in Lusaka each time his discontented , we all thought he will scoop the PF presidency but as things stand his just a mare Political spectator who has been privilaged to be in politics by serving in the PFgovts at once upon a time .

The political journey for CK has had self destruction and when he holds these press briefings which are self promoted to meet his objectives and find space for business benefits ,this means that CK is out of the leadership equation in perpetuity because his role is just presence in holding . We want to see CK contesting the PF party presidency and see him win and bring his National presidential ambition to the test comprising with ideas of how best to govern this country orderly. , with discipline that is associated with charismatic approach and generous character of common interest to unite the nation . Now that he is not talking about ECL to be a thief , he told zambians that his return to PF was meant to reconnect his businesses in the PF govt , the vomit he said he would never take again like a dog . We later saw him sent on helicopters campaigning with a tribal agenda . How can CK be the solution of leadership for the country from what he does and says when it suits his ego , if the same party that he favours now can not trust him or respect what he says in the press briefings , who else should ? , CK becomes the most inconsistent politician of all times in this generation and era .

Whenever there is a situation in PF CK is used as a mouth piece , he has forgotten that the same people he represents ate his moral fiber leaving him politically dismayeful and impotent . When CK speaks people lough because he fails to turn his neck to see how the people he is with in PF are looking at him , zambians generally regard CK a fortune hunter because he has made himself incredible to semantics that are moduled timely for the cake which is on the shelves for reach .

It is very interesting that CK is not insisting on the much awaited general conference that should put to test any speculations of who becomes the next PF president that contests the 2026 general elections. That has tamed CK to have fears not to be flushed out of the PF party again which he is now clinging on , otherwise if the thread is cut off CK will be a dehorned bull that will never emerge to represent anything but his family and relatives .many young politicians can learn how CK became twisted to become a worm instead of being a young cobra people thought he was , that happens regularly in political organizations that are not managed but controlled by cartels and mafias . God bless mother Zambia.

THE OPPOSITION IN ZAMBIA NEED FREE TABLE TUITIONS TO UNDERSTAND THE DIPLOMATIC ENGAGEMENTS PRESIDENT HAKAINDE HICHILEMA IS ATTENDING TO…***

By Stembridge Sikalundu

Any president of the republic of zambia whether it is Mr HAKAINDE HICHILEMA or any other person that is past or indeed those who will be elected in the future will have the same equal privilages and constituitional mandate to travel and engage on behalf of the country and the people of zambia internationally . I find it very absurd to see the opposition frontier in zambia criticising the president for visiting ISRAEL without considering the meticulous posture and representation which president HAKAINDE HICHILEMA seemingly is cultured with that is now worldly adorable . It is not long ago when the past leadership got millions of dollars , a loan which was used to buy the GULF STREAM at a theft cost , and everyone that is vocal now was very quiet when in fact the results of the trip to ISRAEL was meant to plunder resources from the loan which was obtained .

The nation should have the confidence to see president HAKAINDE HICHILEMA visit ISRAEL on a different mission which is opposed to what transpired with the past regime , the difference which president HAKAINDE HICHILEMA is doing is in the responsibility which is in the interest of the country and the people of zambia , in my personal capacity I would have loved that president HAKAINDE HICHILEMA meets the instituition leaders who gave the PF govt a loan which they used to buy the GULF STREAM , it is necessary that the country knows the actual loan obtained and how much was stolen in the cost of the purchase of the jet , it may not be the job of president HAKAINDE HICHILEMA to investigate but surely it is information worth getting using this visit and bring with home .

We know that this visit by president HAKAINDE HICHILEMA to ISRAEL can not settle well because of issues which may be of great importance to the country surrounding the corruption allegations , insecurity may cause the shift of goal posts to blame the president’s visit to that nation by politicizing matters for domestic Political mileage . Suppose president HAKAINDE HICHILEMA went to CHINA what would they have said because they are the same people who have been advocating for such a move , similarly that is travelling to another country , let them watch the space and stop being rhetoric and deficient of substance in the new era of this polical landscape . God bless mother Zambia .

Daylyt Feet:Is the Daylyt feet picture real? Arachnodactyly meaning explained as viral photo leaves fans stumped

0

On July 25, California-based rapper and hip-hop artist Daylyt took to his Facebook to share his picture showing his strangely-shaped feet, with a part of the post’s caption reading as follows:

As soon as the image became viral, netizens started having mixed reactions. While some wondered whether the feet were real or not, others empathized with him.

However, a Facebook user by the name of Chinenye Annah pointed out in a post of her own that Daylyt had a medical condition named congenital contractural arachnodactyly. In fact, she revealed that the rapper was born with an extremely rare genetic disorder. She also mentioned how people living with this disorder have “tall curved legs.”

Not only that, but she called out people who were laughing at him or body-shaming him without knowing the facts. Following the confirmation that Daylyt’s feet images were indeed real, she also slammed people for being mean.

Daylyt’s feet image is real and he suffers from arachnodactyly

Battle rapper and hip-hop artist Daylyt’s feet picture is real as he battles with a rare genetic condition called congenital contractural arachnodactyly. This medical disorder impacts various parts of the body and typically results in individuals being exceptionally tall with long limbs (dolichostenomelia). They may also have long, slender, and crooked fingers and toes (arachnodactyly), which has affected Daylyt since birth.

Additionally, individuals with this condition may have permanently bent joints, leading to limited movement in the hip region, knees, ankles, and elbows. Other features include underdeveloped muscles, a rounded upper back curving to the side, permanently bent fingers and toes, crumpled ears, and a protruding chest.

Not only that, but people living with congenital contractural arachnodactyly may also suffer from cardiac defects such as leaking valves or enlarged blood vessel. A severe form of this disease may even damage the digestive system and humans suffering from it do not live past infancy. Otherwise, the life expectancy of people with this disorder is normal.

Congenital contractural arachnodactyly is believed to affect one in 10,000 people globally. It is the abnormal mutation of the FBN2 gene that causes the disease. What’s interesting is that the name arachnodactyly derives from the word “arachnid” (eight-legged creatures such as spiders and scorpions) as in the condition the fingers and toes are often shaped like that of arachnids.

Who is Daylyt?
Born Davone Campbell in Watts, California, the 38-year-old Daylyt (it’s his stage name) is a battle rapper and hip-hop artist. He started off his career in July 2011 via his YouTube channel 1SpawnOnly and later rose to fame by participating in back-to-back rap battles across California.

Throughout the years, he has fought in over a hundred rap battles and won the majority of them, including defeating the likes of Lupe Fiasco and Madchild.

The rapper has been featured in LA Weekly, VIBE Magazine, LA Times, and others for his exemplary career. A single parent, he has also appeared on MTV reality rap shows The Sisterhood of Hip Hop and Total Slaughter. He is part of the rap groups Krack City and Dot Mobb.

His distinctive feature is a face tattoo in the shape of the comic book character Spawn. He has over 50,000 monthly Spotify listeners from all around the world and some of his famous rap works include I Am Spawn, Niggeria, and Adrinachrome among others.-sportskeeda

PRESSURE MOUNTS ON GOVT TO HAND OVER KCM TO VEDANTA

By Correspondent
PRESSURE is mounting on the UPND government to handover the Konkola Copper Mines (KCM) to Vedanta Resources.

Today, government is expected to announce the hand over and a consortium of Civil Society Organizations pushing for the comeback of Vedanta are optimistic that the announcement will be done today.

The Advocates for National Development and Democracy (ANDD) and Zambia for Unity Peace and Development (ZUPED) have said the Minister of Mines and Minerals Development Paul Kabuswe on 14th July, 2023, revealed that the new investors of Mopani Copper Mine and KCM will be announced by 31st July, 2023.

ANDD Executive Director Samuel Banda believes that President Hakainde Hichilema and Kabuswe are aware of the economic challenges the country is grappling with as a result of the non functionality of the two mining giants.

“We believe that His Excellency President Hakainde Hichilema and Mines and Minerals Development Minister Hon Paul Kabuswe are aware of the economic challenges of this country more especially on the Copperbelt. The economy of Copperbelt is down, the business for suppliers and contractors is down because the tw strategic mines have not been operating. Hence we believe that the President (Mr. Hichilema) and Mines Minister are committed to ensure that they revamp the mining sector,” said Banda.

“And we want to commend government for the mining reforms that they are implementing for example the introduction of the mineral regulation commission which will ensure that the investors adhere to our mining policies.”

And ZUPED President Ronnie Jere said the contractors and suppliers from the Copperbelt should start preparing for business because the government is today expected to make the major pronouncements.

“It is clear that KCM and Mopani mines are giant strategic investments we have in the country and we should keep them running. These two assets are the major employers that are on the Copperbelt, once KCM and Mopani mines begin to operate, people of the Copperbelt must expect the economy to start booming, trade will improve and liquidity will improve,” said Jere.

“We want to urge the people of the Copperbelt to welcome back Vedanta Resources. We also want to encourage those who will be employed once the mine start running optimally, to work hard and help boost the country’s economy.

He said foreign investors can not develop the country hence the need for locals to work extra hard and help improve the country.

Nelson Chamisa Vows to Fix Nation in One Term and Embrace Pastorship

Citizens Coalition for Change President Nelson Chamisa Vows to Retire as Pastor after Transforming Zimbabwe in One Term

In an impassioned rally held at Muchakata Business Centre in Masvingo Central, Nelson Chamisa, the president of the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC), laid out his ambitious plan for Zimbabwe’s future. Chamisa declared that he needs just one term as President to steer the country towards economic prosperity before retiring to become a pastor.

The Call from Two Icons: Mugabe and Tsvangirai
During his address to party supporters, Chamisa revealed that both the late President Robert Mugabe and the late founding father of the Movement for Democratic Change (MDC), Morgan Tsvangirai, entrusted him with the responsibility to fix the nation’s pressing issues. He emphasized,

“I have been telling you ndakasiirwa basa naTsvangirai and Mugabe kuti basa rako kuti ugadzire nyika ive nechimiro, yava nechimiro ngakuite mumwe” (Tsvangirai and Mugabe gave me the task to fix the country until all issues are resolved and leave the presidency to others).

A Lean Government with a Purpose

The Masvingo Mirror reports that Nelson Chamisa outlined his vision for a smaller, more efficient government, stating that he plans to have only 15 ministers. He criticized the current administration’s bloated structure of 21 ministries and over 50 ministers and deputies, some holding special roles in the office of the President. According to Chamisa, such an extensive cabinet is unnecessary when the economy is not functioning properly. ”

We want to have a lean and mean Government with a maximum of 15 ministers,” he emphasized.

Accountability and Division Reforms

Addressing the issue of accountability, Chamisa emphasized that if he wins the election and fails to deliver on his promises, the country should have the power to remove him from office.

“Leaders must know that they come and go. We want to stop the abuse of power,” he proclaimed.

Furthermore, Chamisa acknowledged the current division of provinces based on tribal lines and vowed to redress this imbalance. His proposed government would reorganize the country into five regions, each with its unique focus. “Midlands will be the administrative capital of our land, Masvingo will be known as the ancient capital also retaining our culture and tradition, Bulawayo as the Industrial capital, Manicaland as the horticultural capital. The country will be reduced from 10 provinces to five regions, North, South, East, West, and Central,” he elaborated.

A Hopeful Future for Zimbabwe

Nelson Chamisa’s bold vision for Zimbabwe’s future has garnered attention and sparked hope among citizens seeking positive change. With promises of economic revival, efficient governance, and division reforms, his campaign for a one-term presidency is now at the forefront of public discourse.

Nigeria is on brink of collapse — Catholic Bishops

Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria has said that the country is on the brink of collapse following the removal of fuel subsidy without cushioning the effects.

President of CBCN, Most Rev. Lucius Iwejuru Ugorji who delivered a homily at the Maria Assumpta Cathedral during the reception of the Supreme Subordinate President of the Knights of St. John International, Prof. Remy Uche, in Owerri, stated those running the nation’s affairs at all levels should know that palliative measures can never be a cure for any economic or health challenge.

Ugorji said;

“The suffering in the land has over the years been galloping uncontrollably. Our growing economic crisis became exacerbated with the recent withdrawal of petrol subsidy by the Federal Government. Indeed, Nigeria is on the brink of collapse.

“Government has not ceased to inundate citizens with it’s fabled palliative measures to cushion the effects of the subsidy removal. I am sure those running the nation’s affairs at all levels know that palliative measures can never be a cure for any economic or health challenge.

“If Nigerians are given food items as palliatives, we will definitely go hungry again, after consuming the food. So, I ask: Why waste resources on palliative measures, instead of attacking the problems frontally?

“Provision of a constant source of energy remains the driving force in all developing and developed economies. Why is ours different? Why should we not subsidize fuel?

“We have severally been told that some people have been enriching themselves from our commonwealth through petrol subsidy. For many patriotic citizens, this argument does not hold water.

“Why has the government failed, is unwilling or incapable of identifying the supposed culprits and bringing them to account for their sordid act?

“There is a lot of deceit and corruption in the land. How can anybody explain why and how the former administration hurriedly commissioned the Dangote refinery, which is yet to start production? So, why the haste in commissioning an unfinished project?

“There is also the fabled story of the supposed Nigerian airline and how an aeroplane was hired or borrowed to flag off its operation. Where is the airline today? Has anyone been asked to account for the act? This is not a good national testimonial.

“The root of Nigeria’s problem is massive corruption. For Nigeria to survive, we must collectively fight corruption, whichever way it rears its ugly head.

“Government must be told that we cannot afford the luxury of punishing the entire populace, because of the corrupt tendencies of a few. This is not fair to all concerned.”

Senegalese opposition politician Ousmane Sonko vows hunger strike as lawyers lambast arrest

Firebrand Senegalese opposition politician Ousmane Sonko said Sunday he had started a hunger strike from custody after being arrested this week, as his lawyers condemned his arrest.

Senegal’s public prosecutor on Saturday announced seven new charges against the politician — a vocal critic of President Macky Sall who has faced a string of legal woes he claims are aimed at keeping him out of politics.

“In the face of so much hate, lies, oppression, persecution, I have decided to resist”, Sonko wrote, inviting “all political detainees” to join him on the strike.

He is scheduled to be interrogated by a judge on Monday.

In a press conference on Sunday in the capital Dakar, Sonko’s lawyers said authorities had not respected his rights.

One of them, the French national Juan Branco, appeared at the press conference despite Senegalese prosecutors filing an international arrest warrant against him on July 14.

“We came here to tell you that we were not afraid”, Branco said.

“I swear to defend a man, Ousmane Sonko, whose body carries the hopes of an entire people, and therefore, of all humanity.”

On June 22, Branco said he had filed a criminal complaint against Sall in France for “crimes against humanity”, and had requested a probe by the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague.

His initiatives also named Interior Minister Antoine Felix Abdoulaye Diome and gendarmerie chief General Moussa Fall among more than 100 others accused.

The move sparked Senegal’s ire, with Foreign Minister Aissata Tall Sall lashing it as “childish and puerile” and falling far short of the benchmark needed for legal scrutiny.

  • Moral corruption case –

Sonko’s lawyers also argued that his arrest on the new allegations cancelled out his conviction in a high-profile moral corruption case, because he had been tried in absentia.

According to Senegal’s penal code, if defendants who are tried in absentia are arrested within a certain limitation period, any conviction is automatically annulled unless they expressly agree to the sentence within ten days.

His sentencing to two years in prison on June 1 sparked clashes that left at least 16 dead.

The sentence makes him ineligible to contest next year’s presidential election.

But the prosecutor said his arrest on Friday and the new charges announced on Saturday are unrelated to the moral corruption case.

The new charges are over comments he has made, rallies he has held, and other episodes since 2021, including an incident at his home on Friday that led to his arrest.

They include calling for insurrection, undermining state security, criminal association with a terrorist body and theft.

On Saturday, a prominent Senegalese journalist and government critic, was also arrested and began a hunger strike, according to his lawyer.

Pape Ale Niang had on Friday spoken about Sonko’s arrest in a live streamed video on YouTube.

Niger has suspended the export of gold and uranium to France this Sunday with immediate effect

Niger has suspended the export of gold and uranium to France this Sunday with immediate effect.

France suspended aid to Niger after the recent coup. 1 out of every 3 light bulbs in France is powered with uranium from Niger.

The recent events between Niger and France are a complex situation with a long history. Here is a brief summary of the key points:

* Niger is a West African country that is rich in uranium resources. France is a major importer of uranium, and Niger is one of its largest suppliers.

* On July 26th, 2023, there was a coup in Niger. The coup leaders overthrew the democratically elected government and installed a military junta.

* France condemned the coup and suspended aid to Niger.

* In response to the French aid suspension, Niger suspended the export of gold and uranium to France.

* Niger’s decision to suspend uranium exports is significant because France relies on Niger for a significant portion of its uranium supply. According to the World Nuclear Association, Niger produced 2,248 tonnes of uranium in 2021, which accounted for about 5% of global production.

* The suspension of uranium exports could have a significant impact on the French nuclear power industry. France relies on nuclear power for about 70% of its electricity generation.

* The situation between Niger and France is still developing, and it is unclear how the two countries will resolve their differences. However, the recent events have highlighted the importance of uranium to both countries.

In addition to the points above, here are some other things to consider:

* The coup in Niger was the latest in a series of coups in West Africa in recent years. These coups have raised concerns about the stability of the region and the security of its natural resources.

The situation between Niger and France is a reminder of the complex relationship between resource-rich countries and their major trading partners. These relationships are often based on economic interdependence, but they can also be fraught with tension.

Mcpherson Mutale pens down emotional moments and how PF treated Zambians, including himself, as he vows to never ever support the corrupt brutal thieves

0

VERY TOUCHING AND YET PAINFUL: EDGAR MUST NOT THINK THAT ZAMBIANS ARE FOOLISH

Mcpherson Mutale pens down emotional moments and how PF treated Zambians, including himself, as he vows to never ever support the corrupt brutal thieves.

He writes below…

PF WILL NEVER BE AN OPTION FOR ME.

“Individuals like Muntu Mususu can not understand why PF will never be an option in my life. Even if it bounced back to power (God forbid), I would still never support or be a sympathizer of PF.

Let me enlighten you. PF took it personal to make my life a living hell. Your then Minister of Information Kambwili came not only on one occasion but twice to hunt for me like a prey promising to have me fired for simply calling out his lies.

He instructed his PS to summon me and my HoD to his office and talked to us like school boys. They intimidated us to serve their incompetence.

They further instructed IBA to reduce the station radius 3 times in one day. This is information in public domain. They threatened the leaders of the university several times.

I have over 6 warning letters in my office because your leaders thought they had monopoly of use of public media to further their lies.

I had my personal private contracts with government agencies cancelled because they claimed I was anti- government. I have those contracts in my possession. Contracts that were signed by the AG.

Just so you know, when I called out one of the presidential aides that he behaved like a Mafia, he summoned me to his office. When I got there he had a gun on his table and asked me to explain why I called him a mafia.

I pointed at the gun and said why would we have a cordial conversation when you are talking to me with a gun?

Do you know how many threats I got on a daily basis from your fellow cadres? Do you how we lived in constant fear? I could not drive the same car for 6 months because on two occasions someone slashed my car tires.

Your government took away student meal allowances while they increased their salaries and even gave themselves houses at Northgate to buy on loan from their gratuities.

Meanwhile university lecturers and researchers gratuities were never paid going back 10 years.

Contracts were handed down to cadres without proper tender procedures. Markets and bus stations were run by cadres.

Civil servants were living in constant fear of being hounded out by cadres. CDF was only given to pro FF MPs and areas while neglecting other parts of the country.

You government ran down the economy of this country to its lowest. The real GDP of Zambia by the time you took office was around $29 billion and by the time you were kicked out, it was $18.9 billion.

An economy whose GDP you found growing at average 6.5% , you left it at -2.8% at the time of your unceremonious departure.

When you came into office, the country had less than $3 billion external debt and by the time you were leaving, we were indebted to the tune of over $13 billion.

You divided this country on tribal lines and made other citizens to feel like they are third class. You created an economic divide that saw the PF enjoy everything while the rest of the citizens wallop in abject poverty.

You compromised institutions, churches, civil society and even our traditional leaders. You killed the spirit of one Zambia One Nation.

You frowned upon the rule of law and found pleasure in chaos and terror ways of controlling people.

You wanted to change the constitution to prevent change so that you could continue looting without anyone hindering your gluttonous appetite for stolen wealth.

So just because you enjoyed the spoils that were falling from the tables of your masters, and now you can not eat, that should not make you feel like the country is worse off.

It is those who enjoyed the loot who are crying the loudest. The common people have always suffered regardless of who is in power.

Yes the cost of living is very high. Even those of us who work can hardly afford. Life in general is tough for everyone.

The damage that was done to this economy won’t go away in the blink of an eye. To get an economy out of a recession and put it back on the growth trajectory takes between 5-10 years.

We may not appreciate the economic programs of the current administration just now because they will only bear fruits 5-10 years.

So if you ever think that we will stop talking about PF, you are terribly mistaken. If you think, we are looking for jobs, you’re wrong. We have known to stand on our feet when it was extremely difficult, we can’t fail now.

We warned PF but they never listened. We have continued to raise our concerns to the current administration and if they don’t listen, they will have the same fate as PF.

To be clear and not to mince my words, I WILL NEVER SUPPORT PF even if they bounced back to power. That’s my personal decision and don’t misconstrue my sentiments to include other people or institutions am affiliated with.”
